I was thinking of what I could do on the blog for Memorial Day. I was listening to my iPod & the song Some Gave All came on & I thought to myself 'Mel, you should make a video of family & friends that were in the military.' I got all the pictures I could find of them, went online to find some filler pics & made a pretty awesome vdieo I think. Besides Christmas this is my favorite holiday. To me Memorial Day isn't just about remembering those that have fallen defending their country. It's about remembering all those that we have loved & lost. *tears up* The first person you are going to see is my Grandpa, I love him more than anything in the world. If I had to choose between anything & him it would be him without a doubt in my mind. I would list everybody that is in the video, but some of the pics don't have names on them & I'm not waking my Mom up. I hope you all will never forget those who have come before & never stop thinking of those who are to come. May your holiday weekend be fun & filled with good food, friends & lots of love. I hope you enjoy the video as usual.

You have a different way to remember your soldiers and to support them.
In Germany it´s kind of different since "we´re not in a war" (after the politians) and we just fight terrorism (not afghanistan) and wanna built up a democatie.
The people don´t support the politians in their plan to help afghanistan in a obscure mission and so they don´t really support the soldiers even though they have to do their job. I think it´s kind of a duty to fight terrorism but there are so many ppl dying who are innocent.. which means you have to call it by the name: WAR!
Hope it´s soon over and families don´t need to be scared to lose someone relatives and loved!

Wow Mel! *tears up* Beautiful video!! Perfect song as well. I feel very strongly about this holiday and its meaning as well. I come from a very strong military background too (Grandfather, Father, 3 brothers, and husband are all Veterans). Right now my cousin John in serving in Iraq and is due to come home in July after his 2nd 12 month tour, I pray every day that he returns home safely. These men and woman, past and present, have given so much so we can be free. God Bless them! Happy Memorial Day weekend everyone!

Last night was awesome!!! I'm officially out of high school! For a group of 500+ students, the ceremony was pretty short (only 1hr30min)! It went by quickly! We had some beach balls and blowhorns come out during the ceremony...faculty was not happy about that but it was epic!!! ;D
So my Thursday and Friday have been awesome so far!
Thursday we got heavy rain! And I mean the size of golf balls kind of droplets! And my sister and I decided we would run around in it! My dad even joined in! It must've looked really funny! My dad (a 40+ man) my sister (13) and me (18) running around the yard, chasing each other with water hoses, while it's raining!!!! ;D My dad quit early on, but my sister and I stayed out there for almost an hour...soaking wet!!! ;D And the best part is...the neighborhood kids started copying us!!! ;P LOL Oh, the perks of not caring what others think! ;P

I just posted the most random comment on Aksel's blog...but the argument is starting to get on my nerves! Aksel has posted a comment regarding what's happening, and some people are still taking offense!!! :O
