This is what I woke up to this morning. Such a pretty spring day in Ohio.
We Went to a bulk food store(where I found mini Maple Nut Goodies), Heini's(best cheese in the world), Kauffman's Bakery(best creme horns) & Sunny Slope Orchard. It was a great little day trip. We did get lost a little, but then we finally found our way. I always have a blast hanging out with My Kelli. :-) She's the best. I love going to Holmes County. It's so beautiful there & peaceful. I love being out in the country. Ok not so much the smell from the pig farms, but hey it clears the sinuses. So my Mother tells me. Next trip I take will hopefully be up to Kirtland. I love the Amish people too. They are very friendly. The kids are very respectful not like some kids I see at work. It was a great trip & I look forward to eating my cheese & trail bologna. *mouth waters*
Oops I forgot to put the link to the other pics I took in the post & I don't feel like editing it. So Here's the link:

Love it!!!!
ReplyDeleteWhen do you plan on going to Kirtland?
Beautiful Mel!! The Amish make the best food ever! Glad you had such a beautiful day to enjoy it...thanks for sharing the photos...you would love it here where I live which unfortunately was marred by the Amish schoolhouse shootings a little over 2 years ago, still a lovely place to visit.
ReplyDelete@ Auntie Em I don't know when I'll go. I was supposed to go with my friend Jen this week, but she never got back to me with her schedule. They want me to go to Zion's Camp, but it's Memorial Day Weekend & I have a family tradition that I have to do.
ReplyDelete@ Kristen I remember hearing about that.
Good morning all!
ReplyDelete@Kristen I'm sorry to hear about your Grandmother! :( It's always sad to hear such news...
I've seen on fb the 'Top Gear' cheered you up? I like these guys too! Didn't know them before Aksel tweeted about them! :D I've seen the show in Vietnam! Haha Hilarious!!! :D
Well as your horoscope tells you, you gotta stay at home today! :) And we all know, we gotta do what the horoscope says! :P
Since we're still talking about Horoscope's I'm gonna share a last one, the one for today! I don't like it though! I don't like thinking to much about the futur and money! :(
'You need to put your money where your mouth is today. Even better, you should endeavor to put your money where your bank is! It's definitely time to wrangle your finances and start thinking clearly about the future. Your energy helps you get serious about long-term plans, and that has a definite effect on you right now. Start thinking about where you want to be in a few years, because with the right planning, it will happen.'
@Nicole Thanks for the link! Now I can see how long till the next season starts! And on tv I see the days till the FIFA World Champoinsships start! YaY! :D
169 days 23 hours and 45 minutes! :P
@Mel Nice pics! :) I guess, whenever I'll be in America, I gotta visit the Amish! :D Looks great! Thanks for sharing! :D
Have a nice day ladies! And sorry for writing so much! haha :D
@Mel: Great pics. Want to go to Amish country. It's on my bucket list!
ReplyDelete@Ladies: FEELIN LIKE A COUGAR TODAY! Last night I had to stop and get gas. There was a young guy mid 20's who was waiting for a friend. He was very cute and I noticed he was checking me out! I did what any married woman would do and put my headphones in and started listening to music. Totally ignored him! This approach is really way easier when your married:)
Hi girls!
ReplyDeleteI am having one of those days where I think I will need chocolate for every meal. It's not good! First thing this morning I burned myself with my flat iron, then I dropped a bottle of dark blue nail polish in my sink (WHAT A MESS). Then on my way to work someone had their sprinkler set to super soaker because it shot right into my sunroof. OMG!
I was just reading the other post. The WTMOMM explanation is kind of bordering on creeper.
@Anja Who mentioned Top Gear?! I freaking love that show! I watch it all the time. The one in Vietnam with the motorbikes was awesome.
@Mel That place looks like a country store I always go to in the fall. It's the only time of the year I will allow myself to eat a donut. They make them with bits of apples and apple cider and cinnamon sugar. SO GOOD!
@Buckeye Gal Boo, I'm jealous. I got gas yesterday too, but the guy next to me was old enough to be my grandfather.
Good whatever to everyone.
ReplyDelete@Mel: nice place but it seems like there´s the rub (oh. like my village haha)
btw: the cream horns have to be the best.. just watch on the name of the bakery what does it sound like? RIGHT GERMAN! :-)))
@Kristen: i´m sorry! Hope you have a lot of power and support the next time! :-)
@anja: was that the horoscope for greek? haha.
@buckeye: so i´m a cougar too, bc that´s how i act :-/ Think i need a new tactic :(
@Cricket: i´m sorry about your day. I think that´s not sth i would complain about but laugh. You life could be a movie today! haha
So everybody is watching top gear now? do i need to see it? is it worth it to spend a few minutes of my life on?
Nice to see you, ladies!
ReplyDelete@Mel Very beautiful pictures! But where are the people? I don't see anybody there!
@Kristen I'm sorry for your grandmother! It's very sad when we can't do anything to help the people we love! I lost my grandma last year, she was 96!!!
@Buckeye Gal Poor guy! Haha!
@Cricket Sorry you had a bad day! One of the Murphy's laws: "You have a bad day? Smile, tomorrow can be worst!" lol! I hope you'll be better! Hugs!
@Teekanne It was like a movie! It was crazy because it all happened within the span of 2 hours. I was definitely laughing when the water came through my roof, like I hope that was the end of it.
ReplyDeleteI have been watching Top Gear for 2+ years. It's on BBC America here. It's good if you're into cars, or funny guys, or both.
@dana Thanks! I am feeling much better now. I had some chocolate milk when I got to work and it made me happy. We have Ovaltine which reminds me of Cuche (my other favorite).
@cricket: try getting back in bed and getting the other side:) it will get better!
ReplyDelete@Dana: no honey he is lucky:)
@boy at gas station: go find a girl 10years younger!
@ladies: will have to check out Top Gear (if I can find the BBC channel).
Hello ladies! I'm back! hehe :P
ReplyDeleteHow was your day? :)
@Buckeye haha poor guy! But like Teekanne I do that too when there are annoying man staring at me!
@Cricket I mentioned Top Gear here! :) But I've first seen it mentioned on Aksel's. That when I first whatched it! Yea the one in Vietnam is awesome! Especially when they buy eachother souveniers or the 'born to be wild' motorcycle! LOL!
Sorry to hear about your day! Hope tomorrow will be better! At least it's not raining! :) I just got soacked bc of that stupid rain! Don't like to bike in the rain... :(
@Teekanne Hei hun!!! :) How ya doing?
lmao It could be Greece's horoscope! But definetly not mine! :D
btw did you see, chat on fb isn't working!!! :(
about Top Gear, it's really funny, but it's quite long too! But you get, funny english men and cars/motorcycles! And they're making fun of eachother all the time! Oh well they did in the one's i've seen! :)
@Dana hei girl! :) How are you doing?
oh I love Ovi!!!! :D Mhm and it's the best on a rainy or snowy day!
So @Cricket you like Cuche too?! :P Another swiss skiers fan?! :D I mean of course after our Vikings! :D
@Buckeye Gal you can find a lot of episodes on YouTube! Here's the link for the one in Vietnam! :) Enjoy!!!
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QMHVD-gWPDk
@Anja
ReplyDeleteHi babe! I'm very good! How about you?
I like Didier Cuche too! Great skier!
@Buckeye Gal Why is he lucky? Because you didn't pay attention to him? That's means you're dangerous?LOL
@Anja I had no idea Aksel was into Top Gear! I'll add that to the list of awesomeness.
ReplyDeleteThe Born to be Wild motorcycle was the best! I want to watch that again right now. Too bad my work blocks youtube.
It is not raining. Actually, it's beautiful here today. We have bright sunshine and it's going to be around 70(21).
I have liked Cuche for a long time because he seems really cool. Now it's because he's my age and he's still kicking the young boys' butts.
@cricket: yeh. hopefully it was the end! keep my fingers crossed for you! :-)
ReplyDeleteok. i might watch it these days. at least i´ll try it..
@anja: hey. i´m great! :-) it´s already the middle of the week.
but my car is still broken...:-/ and i´m kind of stuck at home. nevertheless it´s ok. there is a lot of trouble at home.
my big bro was just here, he´s flying to australia on saturday for 5 weeks.. i´m so jealous wanna go back! :-( have to sneak in his luggage! ;-)
Definitely not you horoscope since you´re from switzerland.. haha remember what we discussed yesterday?? haha
chat isn´t working? where do i get my inspiration for this evening from? haha. damn
they make fun of each other? sounds likt this blog over here! ;-)
@ Dana The Amish don't like to have their pictures taken. It has something to do with their religous beliefs. So I purposely leave the people out of the pictures when I'm down there.
ReplyDelete@ Teekanne LOL oh yeah the Germans can bake. That's where I get my baking gene.
Hello ladies
ReplyDeleteAs I am one of the few Btits on this blog, thought I would look out the topgear homepage for you. The lonk should work outside uk, but if it does not let me know and I will look again.
http://www.bbc.co.uk/topgear
For those who watch it perhaps Aksel should see if they will let him drive 'the reasonably priced car'!
I meant 'Brits' - and thats before I have a glass of wine!!!
ReplyDeleteHi All ...
ReplyDeleteJust popping in to wish everyone ...
Happy Cinco de Mayo!
BTW ... Top Gear is Hysterical ... and Cuche is HOT!
Wünschen Sie alle einen schönen Nachmittag!!! (Wishing You All One Beautiful Afternoon!!!)
PS. I need to practice my German language skills ... so, anyone who speaks fluent German, please feel free to critique and correct ... The natives will thank you when I visit Germany in the Fall. :)
ReplyDeleteI like Top Gear too! The guys were in Romania last summer!
ReplyDeletehttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qhMKvzcS2OU&feature=related
@Mel I don't know too much about Amish people but I heard about their religious beliefs. I remember a movie with Harrison Ford-he was a cop who tried to protect an Amish child, so he had to live in their community! I don't remember the title...
@ Dana it's called Witness. Good movie.
ReplyDelete@Mel
ReplyDeleteThanks! I remember now! The Amish girl was Kelly McGillis. Or am I wrong?
Hahaha!I can't believe it ! I have a great memory! LOL I love this song:
ReplyDeletehttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3p_tvjqSrBk

ReplyDeleteHello ladies...thank you all so much for the well wishes for my grandma, she passed away this morning. :'( She is now in a better place and no longer suffering. *hugs to everyone* THANKS AGAIN!!! You gals are the best!
ReplyDeleteWitness was a great movie and it was filmed right here where I live...my Dad was an extra in the movie and got me Harrison Ford and Kelly McGillis' autographs (which I still have to this day). When I was in High School they showed the movie to us as part of "local history"...fun way to spend the afternoon in class ;D
Well, I'm off now...so many things to do, I just wanted to stop in and say many thanks!
xoxo
@kristen oh that is so sad, hope you are ok,*hugs*
ReplyDeleteSorry to bring such a 'bummer mood' to the blog...you ladies party on for me please! I'll need a drink after these next few days!
ReplyDelete@corinna I'm fine, thanks sweetie...it's hard but at least she is at peace.
ReplyDelete@kristen if you need one to talk i´m here.
ReplyDelete@Kristen We're all here for you! ;D
ReplyDelete@ Kristen *hugs & raises glass in a toast to you & your Grandma* A wise friend told me once 'I'm not gonna say anything because nothing I can say will bring her back & take away the pain away. Just know that I'm here if you ever need a shouldar to cry on.'
ReplyDeleteThanks guys! *super BIG hug*
ReplyDeleteI really must go, my addiction is winning though! Aaaaah!!

@Mel...Thanks for the toast! That is awesome!
ReplyDelete@mel well said, that´s so true.
ReplyDelete*sit me on the bar and take a drink*
@Teekanne Whoa, hey, I wasn't implying anything like that! ...I just want to go to Australia! lol
ReplyDelete...hey, what do you mean I don't like police officers??? lol ;P

@Teekanne I like men in uniform...very nice! lol ;D
ReplyDelete...well, it said..."you have a lecherous rear"
Pretty sure that's not right!!!!! :O

ReplyDelete...keeping mine!
good evening anja how was your day? oder auch guten abend wie gehts dir denn?
ReplyDelete@nicole it isn´t so bad if you say it in the right moment lol
@Anja Great! How are you? ;D
ReplyDeletehaha.. what? you don´t wanna tell aksel that he has a hot butt?
ReplyDeletecommon. you could say: aksel there is one sentences i know in german some girls taught me: Du hast einen geilen Hintern.
so what´s wrong with that?? haha
in germany i think it´s a compliment...
but if you´re not that brave you could say:
"aksel, du hast so schöne Augen" (reminds me on ice age and Manny!!! haha)
@Nicole I'm great! Though that could be due to the beer's I just had! :P
ReplyDeleteHow are you? :)
And what did I miss? I just saw sth about a 'hot ass'! Who's??? :P
ah what happen now my comment wasn´t shown up
ReplyDelete@anja good evening how are you?
@nicole it isn´t so bad
@anja: haha like swiss cheese?? haha..
ReplyDelete@Nicole: I think it´s stange.. first everybody is screaming for aksels hot palm pants and now they wanna have him without? NO pants day? isn´t there a excaption for palm pants?
@teekanne what about "du hast schöne hände"
ReplyDeleteoder "dein lächeln ist unwiderstehlich"
it´s so strange to write in german here.
@Teekanne I'll say the second one...what's one for his smile??? ;D The butt comment is just a little awkward... HAHA and that's coming from the girl who poked a guy's bicep muscles because, seriously, they were HUGE!!!! lol ;P
ReplyDelete@Anja tsk tsk, more alcohol!!!! ...who's butt do you think we're talking about?! lol ;P
@Teekanne haha exactly! :D Like a 'Emmentaler' with huge holes! hehe
ReplyDeleteAh I see, you're giving them german lessons and teach them to say Aksel that he's butt is hot?! haha
Anyone wanna learn swiss german? Is way funnier than normal German! :P
@corinna Yeah!!! That's what I'm talking about!!! I'll definitely say those!!! ...now, how do I pronounce it???? lol ;D
ReplyDeleteThis comment has been removed by the author.
ReplyDelete@Teekanne haha jup it was!!! who else!!! Well what about Kjetil's? Haven't seen his ass though yet! :P
ReplyDelete@Nicole haha yes please! Is there a Kjetil left for me?! :D
@Teekanne LOL I really like that one too!!!
ReplyDelete@anja wrote something in swissgerman and we will see if nicole understand it lol
ReplyDelete@nicole "aksel du hast ein umwerfendes lächeln"
@Anja *jumping up and down with arms in the air* I'm willing to learn!!!!!
ReplyDelete...maybe you can get a Kjetil after the lesson! ;P
@anja: whose ass? taht was a rethorical question, wasn´t it? ;-)
ReplyDelete@Corinna: yeh it´s a good one! how about: Your smile melts glaciers?!
@nicole:
I like the butt comment! :-) how about, your butt is awesome, do i like to poke??? ;-)
@ Teekanne He does have beautiful eyes *sigh*
ReplyDeleteahhh now i spamed haha!
ReplyDelete@corinna I like that one too!!! ...I don't understand really...I'm just translating it on the web *innocent look, nervous chuckle*
ReplyDelete@teekanne "Your smile melts glaciers?!"thats great, i think i will test it if i have the chance
ReplyDelete"your butt is awesome, do i like to poke" thats great too
@Teekanne Biceps...not butt!!! That would be weird...poking random butts!!!! LOL ;P ...you want me sent to jail, don't you??? ;D
ReplyDeleteSwiss german? i guess i don´t even understand that! haha..
ReplyDelete@nicole: daina hainda sint wunderschon! something like that maybe! it´s difficult to write you how you should pronounce it since you use the letters in different sounds! :-(
@mel: of cause he does! i´m still wondering which colour they have.. green?!
we can also write in bavarian :)
ReplyDelete@Nicole: in germany nobody would send you in jail only bc you poked sb butt.. espacially if it was such a hot one like aksels haha!#
ReplyDelete@anja: you know i would! haha.
LMAO German & Swiss German lessons?!?!?!?! Where do I sign up?
ReplyDeleteI'm off to watch Happy Town.
@mel have fun and a nice day
ReplyDelete@Anja *drops to knees* NOOOO!!!! It's not translating!!! I've gone to four different sites!!!!!
ReplyDelete@Teekanne haha yeah, pronunciation might be a little harder!!!
@mel and teekanne His eyes are breathtaking!!!!
@ Teekanne I think his eyes are like mine & change colors depending on his mood. Sometimes they are brown & other times they are green. I think they would be called hazel eyes.
ReplyDelete@Teekanne Really? LOL here, I would probably get beat up!!! ...so you would poke Aksel's butt??? ...allright, let's get him over here!!! Oh Aksel!!!!! ;D
ReplyDelete@nicole in german is everything a little bit easier, no jail after poke some ass
ReplyDelete@Mel That sounds too much like Twilight.... >:(
ReplyDelete@Teekanne haha I know you would!!! Why did I even ask?! Haha don't forget though, if we would meet them in Lenzerheide! You HAVE to!!!! haha :P
ReplyDelete@Nicole Told ya! There is no translator for that language! Didn't you already notice?! We're kinda weird! LOL! :D
@Mel I agree about the color! Hard to define! :P Have fun, if you're still on the leave! :D
@corinna and teekanne Germany must be a lot of fun then!!! Let's picture it...all the Cougars at a local park, scouting out the young men, they find the hot ones, and ready, set, GO...there they all go! Running like mad women poking butts here and there, and everywhere!!! ;P LOL
ReplyDelete@Anja What does it mean??? ...and yes, you are weird! ...kidding ;P
ReplyDelete@Teekanne I agree with Anja! Now, you HAVE to!!! lol ;D
@nicole i imagine that just in my mind :) that would be a great picture.
ReplyDeletebtw. i think aksel eyes are so awesome, so friendly and soft, and if he is smiling from the button of his heart his eyes are smile too
@Nicole LMAO!!!! Too funny that pic!!!
ReplyDeletewait gotta see what I wrote up there...
It's 'Aksel your smile is awesome', kinda! :D
haha I know! At least I admitt it! :D
And my minds already way to deep in the gutter tonite! You ladies are awesome! LOL :D
@corinna *sigh* I'm melting just thinking about them!!! ;D
ReplyDelete@nicole: haha.. yeh his eyes are! :-)
ReplyDelete@Mel: wow.. i had a boyfriend who "was doing" that.. that was kind of scary. his eyes were normal brown but when he was in a bad mood they went black... that really scared me. but i´m faczinated by eyes.
i just have such a great mix like blue/green/grey.. it depends on the light, which colour they seem (and on the make-up!! :-)
anyone interested in learning some lowerrhiner platt??
"Dämm mosse de Perringe ut de Naas träkke" haha
@all it´s so crazy.
ReplyDelete@nicole i love his eyes
@Anja I don't think my mind has ever left that place!!!! ;D
ReplyDeleteHey, are you saying that I'm weird??? *innocent look* I don't know what you're talking about!!! I am only a person who's not afraid...I'm brave...yes, that's what weird is...courage!!! LOL ;P
...but not brave enough to poke Aksel's butt...unless I know him... lol ;P
@anja: at least i ask him if i´m allowed haha!
ReplyDelete@nicole: yeh it´s easier here to pokes someones butt haha... love your picture from the cougars.. haha but i guess this phenomenon of cougars isn´t that much in germany.
so i´m on my way to bed... have a great evening... kisses and hugs!
@Teekanne That's kinda like my eyes...but more bluish grey!
ReplyDeleteOkay...that sounds like a scary boyfriend!!!! :O
...I can't find a translation! What did you write???
good night teekanne sleep well *hugs*
ReplyDelete@Teekanne haha and what does it mean? :) Ok hun, sleep well and see ya tomorrow! :) And no poking, without me around to witness it!!! :P *hugs*
ReplyDelete@Nicole *cough* Nooo, i didn't meant to say that! :P You don't have to admit though, we already know!!! :P
Ok, so we're couragous! I like that!!! :D
Goodnight Teekanne!!! Sweet dreams!!! ;D
ReplyDelete...I'll stand next to you when you ask him, just in case you need protection! lol ;P
i really want to this teekanne ask aksel if she is allowd to put his ass lol
ReplyDelete@Anja A-HA!!! So you do think I'm weird!!!! LOL ;P yes, we are courageous...sounds much better! ;D
ReplyDelete@corinna I think we all do!!! ;D
ReplyDelete@Corinna & Nicole I'll dare he to do it, when she's coming to Lenzerheide!!! I'll tell you if she was brave enough! lol :D
ReplyDelete@Nicole haha we all are!!! Just look at the comments! :P But in a good way weird! :D jup it does sound much better! :)
it means
ReplyDeleteyou have to worm sth out of sb
in germany you really say you have to pull it like worms out of his nose. so it´s pretty much the same. it´s the old language from here. but i cannot talk it.
@nicole: yeh it was scary.. but he wasn´t he was nice.. too nice for me!! ;-)
@anja: never would without you!! hugs!
@corinna: give anja a cam and we will prove you i did it! haha...
@all A-HA! I have it!!! You can always pretend it was an accident! You know, if, and that's a strong IF, you're ever somewhere near Aksel. You quietly walk closer to him. As you walk by, you poke him. If he doesn't notice, GREAT! If he does, just calmly apologize for "bumping into him" LOL ;P ...that's what I would do! Teekanne, you can be more blunt! ;D
ReplyDelete@anja you have to take some pictures of it or better make a video.
ReplyDeleteabout this eyes thing i have dark brown eyes, and once i was in a shop for make up and the saleswomen said to me, to your wonderful green eyes match this eyecolour perfectly, and i said then what to what colour i have brown eyes
haha.. i bet he now always let kjetil walk right behind him, so nobody reaches his lovely little butt! haha!
ReplyDelete@Teekanne HAHA One day, someone's going to ask Aksel "what's the weirdest thing a fan's ever done?"
ReplyDeleteand Aksel will say, "She wanted to poke my butt"
LOL ;P
@teekanne for me is no problem i will going to do this too if i have the chance
ReplyDeletehaha I really want to ask Aksel if anyone's ever poked his butt!!!! ;D
ReplyDelete@Teekanne thanks hun! That's what I wanted to hear! :D
ReplyDelete@Nicole haha that's the way it could be! But nono, she has to ask him! She just said she would!
@Corinna yea, I'll make a vid and then put it on the internet! haha
@Teekanne haha Well I bet, Kjetil's ass isn't that less hot! :P Just go for him then!!! :D
We talk about eyes now? Well mine are sth between blue, green, gray! Never was able to identify it for sure! They always look different! :D
Anja goes for Kjetil, and Teekanne goes for Aksel!!! and I take a video and run away!!! ;D
ReplyDelete*thumbs up*
@Nicole LMAo Ok deal!!! :D You can't run away though! Who's protecting us then?!?! Or are you going to bail us outta jail afterwards or the asylum? Depending where they'll put us into?! :D
ReplyDeletei think if he read this he will wear a assproctector
ReplyDeletehttp://www.head.com/ski/accessories.php?region=de&tag=body_protection

@Ladies: My internet is down for two hours and we3 are already molesting Aksel!
ReplyDelete@Nicole: like the way you think...accident:
@Deuce: I am learning German as well because one day...I'll be back! It is a shame I didn't learn it while I was there.
@Kristen: Praying for you and send "hugs"!
Now off to go tanning and maybe sneak a quick trip to Target in. No Kids! YEAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!
@Corinna LMAO!!! That's hilarous!!! I just pictured him wearing that for protection of being poked! Too funny! haha
ReplyDeleteI guess I need another drink to get my mind out of the gutter!!! :D
...still laughing...
Trying to check in here again and get to know you guys. It's SO hard to figure out who everyone is. I'm sure if I keep checking in I'll get it yet. Perhaps I should give a better intro of myself.
ReplyDeleteMy name is Kerry, but I'm going by ski mom because well, I like to ski (I'm not very good though), I like to watch skiing (DUH!), and well, I'm a mom of cute little skiers. :) I mentioned yesterday that we live in Austria (my heaven on earth) and we are moving to Germany soon. My husband is with the US Army which is why we are here in Europe. I grew up in PA, so I know a little bit about the Amish, but I lived closer to Philadelphia, so not really in Amish country. I've lived in many places - New York, PA, NC, Germany, California, Connecticut, and now Austria. That's what happens when you are in the military.
Obviously I'm an Aksel fan or I wouldn't be here. He and the other Norwegians are my favorites! After that I have to stay true to the USA skiers, but I love the Austrians and the Swiss teams as well.
Did you all link up on Aksel's blog to begin with? I've been reading it since this previous FIS season started, but I rarely posted over there. I'm glad to see I'm not the only one counting down to the next season. My little family has a motto, "Winter is coming. Winter is always coming!" We are cold weather people and love the snow - fits well with our love of skiing.
I hope this helps you guys know how and why I got here.
so i´m off now, going to bed,
ReplyDeletehave a great night/evening, sleep well and nice dreams *HUGS*
@Buckeye Gal haha you should know us by now! :P
ReplyDeleteWell have fun in training and maybe see ya later! :)
@Kristen just been able to read all comments. I'm so sorry to hear about your grandma! But I guess all is already said and that in such a good way! Only, you know, we're all here for you, always! :) *hugs*
@skimom where do you live in austria?and then in germay?
ReplyDeleteso i´m really of now, see you all tomorrow
ReplyDeleteJust been to check the fisalpine home page and discovered the gummy bears with aksel have appeared there, along with the video from the chair lift at Helmsdal. I think fis alpine must be reading aksels' blog for ideas!
ReplyDelete@skimom Hi! Hope you had a good day!!!! ;D
ReplyDeleteYeah, we did "meet" on Aksel's blog...most of us. But we started chatting over there and some people got annoyed so Mel created this awesome blog, and we came over! Now, we can chat about ANYTHING!!! It gets pretty wild! And now the family's growing more and more!!! It's awesome! So welcome to the party! ;D
btw, we go by Cougars, Sistas, or young'uns! ;D
@Skimom Hello! Were you ever in Switzerland?! :P
ReplyDeleteWell I'm going to introduce myself a bit too, hope it will help! :)
My name is Anja (haha) and I'm swiss! And I'm the second yougest here, I guess! *points at herself* No couga!!! :D
I'm a student kinda... it's complicated though! Let's just say I'm going to be a student in september again!
I love watching ski and love to go boarding! And I live in the mountains, so I have it in front of my door! :)
As Nicole would say I'm the alcoholic here and the weirdo! :P hehe
I love to make fun of myself (and others), if you haven't already noticed! :D And I don't mind when others make fun of me! haha :P They do it all the time anyway! *looks at Teekanne and Nicole* you know i love ya girls! :D
My heart beats for the Norway and Swiss ski team! :D Kinda always has and always will i guess! :)
I followed the other blog too since it started, never wrote anything though! Just laughed my ass off all the time! :)
omg I can't wait till next season! Why can't it be winter again! Oh well, after my holidays but still!!! :D
hope that helps a bit! :P as Mel said, if you wanna know anything more, just ask! :D
@Corinna good night sweetie! Sleep well!!! :D
@Anja I will definitely be there to protect you...after Aksel can't recognize my face!!! ;D
ReplyDeleteGoodnight Corinna!!! Sleep well! ;D
@marie HAHA They're fans too then!
@Marie I just hope they're not checking out this blog! I mean they would definetly get ideas, but I'd say the wrong ones! hehe :D
ReplyDelete@Nicoel thanks!!! I knew I could count on ya!!! :D
I'm the youngest here...nowhere near Cougarville! But you gotta love these ladies!!! ;D I used to write A LOT on Aksel's blog...still feel a little guilty about that :/ I love skiing (though I've only been once, and I don't live in an area where skiing is easily available or popular)! I love the Attacking Vikings...talents, looks, and personality!!! ...what else...I'm not afraid to be weird ("courageous")...it makes other people smile and that's definitely one of my goals!!!
ReplyDeleteWe're a crazy bunch!!! ;D But I love you all!!!
@Anja Of course...I'm there for ya!!! ;D
ReplyDelete@Nicole Good! So we can be as unappropriate and molesting as we want, you'll keep us safe!!! Jiihaaa :P Hope Teekanne sees that tomorrow and knows she can poke his/their asses and doesn't have to fear anything! haha :D
ReplyDeletePerhaps I'm a cougar then . . . I'm 35, almost 36. Ouch! Am I the old lady here?
ReplyDelete@Corinna We used to live near Stuttgart in Germany. Now we are in Vienna. I wish we lived IN the alps, but Vienna will do. We are moving back to Stuttgart in August. Again, I'd prefer to be in the mountains, but it's close enough to get there even just for a day.
@Anja, I have been to Switzerland, twice. Once long ago by myself and I headed right for the mountains - the Bernese Oberland. This past summer we took a family trip there to see a few spots - Appenzell, the Bernese Oberland (again), and Montreaux. Lovely country - I LOVE it! My husband was trying to get a posting in Zurich, but it fell through.
@Nicole I hope I can hang with you youngins. I do love to drink (red wine is my favorite) though, so perhaps I will do just fine.
@skimom
ReplyDeleteI think if you read the first couple of blogs from when mel set up this site, you get an idea of who the majority of people are - cougars, younguns, alcholics, soccer fans etc
@Marie Thanks, I'll check out those blogs.
ReplyDelete@marie Soccer fans *innocent look* Sorry... ;D
ReplyDelete@skimom Everyone gets along tremondously well!!! And if you love to drink, there's PLENTY of drinks to go around...you saw the House Drinks right? ;P lol None for me, I'm not yet 18 ...and I'm the security guard around here (not in reality...just in the blog world) ;D
@skimom
ReplyDeleteGood another wine drinker - must be a cougar thing.
You will note the girls here like their coktails particularly nicole and anja!!!
@marie Whoa!!! I try to keep Anja away from the cocktails! LOL ;P
ReplyDelete@skimom you're the majority here then, with the age! :D Well some here said with 35 you're a Cougar! But I wouldn't know! haha like Nicole I'm a long way from Cougarville! :D
ReplyDeleteAh you gotta come to 'Graubünden'!!! :D (That's where I live) It's as nice as Bern and definetly nicer then Appenzell! ;D hehe I love it here too! :D
Ah Zurich? :( Too bad! They don't have a nice accent though! :P Like I said gotta visit us!
I'm kinda making huge advertising, sorry! :D
I agree with Marie! Go read 'Finally'! That's were we went really crazy! And afterwards you get a lof of jokes we sometimes still make! :D
*looks up from her Akesl and Kjetil* I don't know what you ladies are talking about! *sways a little* I'm no alcoholic!!! :P LOL!
ReplyDelete@Anja *shoots a glance and snatches away the Aksel and Kjetil* You already had your beer! I will start limiting you!! ;D
ReplyDelete*looks at Nicole shocked* You really did it, didn't you?!?!
ReplyDeleteTEEKANNE!!! Nicole is mean to meeee!!!! ;P She just stole me my Aksel AND my Kjetil!!! :P
LOL do you think she'll hear me, wake up again and defend me?! :D
So what else do I get to drink? A lars, Leif, Truls or a Simen maybe?! :P
Kristen, I am SO sorry about your grandmother. :-(
ReplyDeleteSkimom, you're not the oldest! I just turned 36. There are several of us in that age range on this blog. It's a good age to be. ;-) Welcome to the blog!
@Anja I'm being mean?!?!? It's for your own good!!! And you know it! ...you can finish your Kjetil...but no more for tonight! Unless you want a major hangover tomorrow!!! ;P
ReplyDeleteOh... meant to tell Mel I love the pictures! I grew up close to a Mennonite community. We used to get fresh vegetables and honey from them every summer. It was always very interesting to see how they live... like stepping back in time. I loved watching them plow their fields with horses, was fascinated that they did not use electricity, and everyone always got a kick when they came to town in their horse and buggy. Talk about stopping traffic!!! Thanks for sharing the pictures!
ReplyDelete@Nicole You're alway mean, didn't you notice?! :P kidding! I know you're just looking out for me, but you just snatched them away from me! Without warning I might add! :P
ReplyDeleteYay! I'm allowed to finish at least one! :D *drowns her Kjetil*
I'm kinda used to Hangovers, I always have them when I go out! Thank god I don't go out that often! lol :D
@Anja :{ I am not...am I???? :{ ...kidding ;P
ReplyDeletetsk tsk you shouldn't get used to Hangovers!!! not a good habit!!!
Since we are introducing ourselves...
ReplyDeleteHi! *waves* I'm Mel, I'm from Ohio & I am the creator of this crazy party. The bar is called Rule #7 after my fav rule. See House Rules for the other rules of the blog. We have tons of drinks. Though we do have the 7 House Drinks Aksel, Kjetil, Leif, Lars, Simen, Truls & Havard. We also have a pool bar newly installed by my brother. We have gone through several bartenders...though I think Kjetil may be back. Not real sure about that though.
*takes a drink of her rootbeer* No drinking for me tonight I gotta work in the morning.
@ The Butt Conversation: I don't wanna poke his butt I wanna smack it...*grrr*
@Mel :O ...you tiger, you!!! ;D
ReplyDelete@ Nicole of course I am. I was born in the year of the Fire Tiger.
ReplyDelete@Mel Are you sure your not a Cougar...I think you jumped right up there!!! ;P
ReplyDeleteHand me that rootbeer...I need to check it...just in case
@Nicole I know! But what do you want! I go out and I'm not saying no to a drink I get offered! I mean hello?! It's for free? :P
ReplyDelete@Mel haha Rule #7 is my favourite too! :D especially with the Vikings around! :D
Goo for it girl!!! :D
I'm a Dragon!!! :D
*takes a sip of her water and looks at Nicole with a smile* Better?! :D
@Anja You can say 'no' ...it's allowed! ;D ...and the water is much much better!!! ;P
ReplyDelete...I'm a Monkey!!!
@Nicole Of coures I could say 'no', but that would be impolite you know! These guys at least deserve that I drink the offered drink! haha :P
ReplyDeletelol the monkey kinda fits! Sorry! :D
@Anja HAHA It does fit, doesn't it? LOL I love monkeys!!! ;D
ReplyDelete...the more you drink, the tipsier you get...the creepier the guys get to!!! Gotta practice caution!!! ;D
"the creepier the guys get too" ...ugh proofreading! ;D
ReplyDelete@ Nicole *holds IBC Rootbeer closer to chest* Nope not a cougar I like my men older, but not too old. I have a ten year age limit.
ReplyDelete@ Anja I would love to use Rule #7 on any of the Vikings.
Here are some links to our chinese zodiac signs:
Me: Tiger
http://www.chinesezodiac.com/tiger.php
Aksel: Dog
http://www.chinesezodiac.com/dog.php
Anja: Dragon
http://www.chinesezodiac.com/dragon.php
@Nicole LOL It does! :D Monkey are cute! :) Have seen loads of them in Costa Rica this year! And they came really near! :D
ReplyDeleteWell funny thing is, I seldom get black spots, happend like once or so! Thank god for my friends! :D But I'm not just getting more tipsier, also more blunt! I don't care what they think, I just tell them what I'm thinking! Not always a good idea though! lol I can defend myself pretty good! :D Just being very rude to annoying guys helps! :D but thanks for your concern! *hugs*
Studying my ass off ~Lars' Twitter
ReplyDeleteIs he studying his butt??? ...sorry, had to...that was bad...I'm gonna stop now...
But seriously, I wonder what he's studying! ;D
@Anja Yeah...being blunt is not always good...I've learned :/ ;D
ReplyDelete@Mel haha true! This rule is probably the reason they're not coming over! out of fear, we're kinda going to attack them! :P
ReplyDelete@Tiger I see! So you're dominant in relationsships? :P And we gotta do what you tell us? :P hmm...
@Dog Hmmm, I don't think all that is true! I mean 'A well-kept, organized home is very important.'! We know the truth!!! :P
@Dragon oh well, let's say mostly! haha
@Nicole look what I've just seen on this site Mel posted: 'Dragons are compatible with the Monkey or Rat and incompatible with the Ox and Goat.?
LOL :D
From Mel's link...
ReplyDeleteAksel's sign:
"A well-kept, organized home is very important. Keeping a clean home..."
*looks at Aksel* How's the cleanig going??? ;D
"Cleaning" :/
ReplyDelete@Nicole LMAO Studyin his butt!!! HAHA maybe there is such a subject in Norway! :P I wondered that too though!!! :D
ReplyDeleteI know! But you know, I don't care anymore, even when I'm sober! You gotta say what you think and when other ppl can't deal with it, it's their problem! Of course you gotta say it nice or try to! :D
When did you learn that?
Darn meant 'studying his butt off' haha sorry!
ReplyDelete@Anja LOL I saw that too!!!! ;D
ReplyDelete@ Nicole
ReplyDeleteYou seem to be even more hyperactive than normal - have you been taking too many gummy bears today?
@Anja Well...that time I said "Hi" to David Boudia and my friends punched me...
ReplyDelete...and the time one of my friends told me that she thought a guy was cute but she was too nervous to talk to him...so I walked up to him and told him that he should talk to her *clears throat* she was fuming... I don't know why!!! He talked to her!!!!! ;D
So, Mel...if you need me to talk to Jakey...I'm there! I've got nothing to lose!!! ;D
...there's been other occasions when I've been "brave" and my friends have gotten mad :/
@marie Sorry, if I seem crazi...er! I've been having a stressful week lately, so it's nice to let loose...tell me if it gets annoying...I can tone it down a bit! ;D
ReplyDelete@ Marie I think she forgot to take her meds today.
ReplyDeleteI found another link. It's kinda strange that my regular Zodiac & Chinese Zodiac mesh so well.
http://www.astrology.com/chinese-sign-tiger/2-d-d-49578
@Nicole Oh I see! Maybe they were just mad, bc they envy you, that you're not ashamed to talk to guys! :)And afraid what the guys would think, when they need to send a friend and aren't brave enough! :) I don't know! Sometimes I can understand why men would think we're complicated! :D
ReplyDelete@Mel LMAO :D
@Mel :O I'm shocked! ...you think I take meds!!! LOL ;P
ReplyDelete@Anja HAHA maybe! ...sometimes they just get caught up in the whole "what will they think of me?" mentality! But who cares?? If I look weird, fine! I made you smile though! ;D
ReplyDelete@Nicole
ReplyDeleteFar from annoying - very amusing.
I hope you are on good form tomorrow evening. It is the general election here tomorrow so TV will be wall to wall voting results programs, and my gym is shut this week for annual repairs so no escape. I will be coming here for some light relief - and i will even be happy to discuss soccer to avoid TV!
@marie Deal!!!! ;D
ReplyDeleteVoting went on today over here!!! yippeee...not
OMG I step away for a few hours and we start talking about poking and smacking!!!!! LOL
ReplyDelete*innocent look on face* I would have no problem saying that to Aksel ... see the good thing about speaking another language is you can play innocent and get away with saying outrageous things, and it's just preceived as an innocent, cute mistake! And *with a little finess* I would also "accidentally" bump into his backside as well. :)
@skimom ... well, lets see I fall under the following categories ...
Cougar (38)
Mom (6 & 12)
Medic & Clinical Nutritionist ~ Ya strange combination, but it works!
Alcoholic ~ What happens on the Blog, Stays on the Blog!
Skiing Fanatic ~ For work & play ... Love to ski (since I was 3)... watch skiing (Especially Vikings) ... and I work at a ski resort as a patroler/medic on the weekends!
Army Brat ~ My Dad was in the military (ARMY) and we constantly moved around the world, hence he met and married my German Mom. I come from a huge Military family ... currently have friends/family stationed in Germany as well.
Adventure Seeker ~ Caused by being a military brat... Living should be about hanging on with all you've got, screaming at the top of your lungs, smiling while saying "Damn lets do that again"
All Around Bad Influence to the Young'uns ... refer to previous blog posts!
AND VIKINGAHOLIC!!!!! ... although I have a fondness for Simen!
Probably the only way to truly get up too speed is to cruise thru some of the older posts to get a good feel for what kinda trouble we get into on the blog! It's all fun!
@ Nicole Doesn't everyone take meds? At least for something. I take allergy meds myself which I didn't take before going to Amish Country & am now paying the price by sneezing all day.
ReplyDelete@Nicole Well don't you? Take meds I mean! You know, gummibears and chocolate! I love that medicine! haha :D
ReplyDeleteThey'll grow out of that thinking! I did too! :P Well you made me definetly smile, loads of times! :D
@Nicole & Marie why don't you like votings?
I mean I do! But our system is way different! We have to vote 4 times a year and then we have to vote for our representatives! Really interessting! :D
@Deuce 'All Around Bad Influence to the Young'uns' So does that mean we get you blame you, when we (well me and Teekanne prolly) young'uns get into trouble?!?!
ReplyDeletehaha good to know! :D
oh and I like 'What happens on the Blog, Stays on the Blog!' :D
I found a site where I can get my horoscope for my chinese zodiac & it says beware of the monkey. *backs slowly away from Nicole*
ReplyDelete@Teekanne ... I have a cousin who is getting married in the Fall in Burghaslach Germany ... so, we'll be making a vacation of it and visiting friends/family in and around Frankfurt, Nurnberg, Wiesboden, Schweinfurt and a few other places. If I can swing it, I might take an extended holiday and travel a bit with my two cousins ...LOL ... Since my Mom is constantly telling me my German sucks, I need to practice!
ReplyDelete@Anja ... LOL ... Yep, I will proudly stand up and take the blame for corrupting you young'uns! :D
ReplyDelete@ Duece Can't blame you for corrupting me. I was corrupted by 3 of my married friends long before we met.
ReplyDelete@Mel Nope...no meds. And I rarely get sick!!! ;D
ReplyDelete@Anja Chocolate is definitely delicios!!! I've never had the gummibear vitamins...something tells me they taste worse than they look!!! ;P
...and politics over here are filled with drama! This person did this, this person did that...so childish!
@Mel Beware?!?!? Why??? *slowly advances towards mel* ;D ...besides, you can't avoid me...I'm everywhere *maniacal laugh*
@Deuce You're traveling too?!?! *sigh* I'm boring apparently! lol ;D
@Anja I meant "delicioso" ;D
ReplyDelete@Deuce Don't worry...this mind's been corrupted a long time ago! ;D
Allright ladies! I'm HEADing out!!! Talk to you all tomorrow!!! Maybe I'll be just as insane...or a little more...or maybe even brain dead (I have a huge test)...We'll see!!! ;D Goodnight!
Scratch that...I can't be brain dead...I made a deal with marie!!! I'll be very lively!!! ;D
ReplyDelete@Deuce haha Thanks! But we'll probably end up in jail together anyway! And Nicole is going to bail us out! ;D No need for accusations! :D
ReplyDelete@Nicole haha I have that fear too! I mean i wonder how they taste and I'd love to test some. But they'll probably not be as good as the normal gummibears! :D
Oh I see! Forgot you're living in America! :D I'm glad to live in Switzerland from that point of view too! :D Here they can't do everything they want to, eventhough they try! :D
Nicole just come over to me, we've just seen Monkey and Dragon are very compartible! :D No need to scare the poor Tiger! :P
Good night Nicole! Have a nice evening I guess! :D
@ Nicole Tigers & Monkeys are not compatible. I guess because in the wild tigers hunt monkeys.
ReplyDeleteI'm off to belly dance with Shimmy. I love Shimmy.
@Mell have fun! :D
ReplyDeleteWell I'm HEADing to bed too! It's quite late! Have a nice evening/night/whatever! See ya tomorrow! *hugs to ya all*
@skimom: Hey Kerry! My name is uh Buckeye Gal (don't know if I trust everyone yet that's why no name or pic:) I am 36 yr old mother of 3 (8, 7, and 5). I live in Columbus, OH (hence the name and the fact that I can see the shoe from work!) I work in program management for a large research and development company. It is nice because I am involved on the government side which fits perfect with my military background and because we develop quite a bit of interesting technology. I was stationed for 2 years in Germany (where I met my husband) and 2 years at Ft. Bragg. Got into Aksel during the Olympics when they showed his story (his dad was too cute as well!). I always liked watching skiing (and for that matter just about any sport) but have never skied before (pitiful I know). This is the first time that anyone has made it sound interesting!
ReplyDelete@Deuce: I was stationed in Bad Krueznach, Germany about 30 min west of Weisbaden. I am jealous you will be so close:( (pouting).
Aaaah! Finally able to sit down...*sigh*...once again I would like to thank all of you wonderful sistas and cougars for the condolences...it really means a lot. @Mel...thanks for the songs...I love both of them, very fitting. *sniff sniff*
ReplyDelete@skimom (Kerry) nice to "meet" you. I am one of the cougars, I will be 40 in 2 months (but don't act like it). I live in PA, born and raised...where in PA did you live? I am a working mother of 3 (9, 5, & 3) and have been married for what seems like a lifetime now, haha! I have always loved skiing eventhough I am not a good skier in any way shape or form, a few ski trips to the Poconos in recent years have left me well feeling that it's probably not a good "hobby" for me. I should just stick to watching it on TV. I became a fan of Aksel's after watching the NBC profile...what a true inspiration he is, the world (especially the US) needs more role models in sports like Aksel. I loved watching his Dad too when he won Gold...from that point on I was for Team Norway! I love a good drink and having fun...keeps me feeling young. The girls on this blog are great and we all get along very well. It's a great mix of young en's and cougars...hope you continue to join us!
Off to bed...it's been a long 2 days...*yawn*
Thanks again girls! Love ya's!! xoxoxoxoxo

ReplyDeleteHi Skimom!
ReplyDeleteI'm Auntie Em I'm 23 almost 24 and I'm for sure a youngin. I too live in Ohio and thank Mel everyday for this hilarious place to just be yourself.
My whole family skis but I think the ski gene skipped me. I will go and be supportive and watch, cheer and take pictures but I can't ski. Ive tried and it was a disasterous and it freaks me out to be strapped into the boots, my brother jokingly asked if my feet have 'claustrophobia'? Yes, yes they do.
Hmmm maybe I should be on some meds too. One for the Claustrophobic feet and another for my stalker-isums.....
Night ladies!
Hi ladies, after 2 days off I'm lost here ;-)
ReplyDeleteFirst off all @Kristen: I'm so sorry to read about your granny! Even in German it's hard to find words, but in English I can't find any consolatory words.
@Mel: great pics! I don't know much about Amish people but their way of living seems a little bit strange. Very intersting to read some things about them in this blog.
@all: wish you all a wonderful day!
And what a crazy discussion I've missed about all that butt stuff *lmao*
@Skimom: if everybody introduces himself...I'm cjal, 42 year old young cougar (think the oldest here), from Germany, IT-freelancer, no kids of my own (my love is a father of 3) and I never skied in my life. But it's a dream from childhood on...one day I'll try and sure will break all my bones *lol*
I'm following skiing since the mids of the seventies...yes I saw skiers like Franz Klammer, Christian Neureuther and Rosi Mittermeier (Felix' dad and mom) - unfortunately only on TV. During the OG in Lillehammer I became a fan of the Attacking Vikings Aamodt and Kjus. Aksel inherited me as a fan when they retired *lol*
I followed his blog nearly from beginning but I posted first during the Olympics.
Now I'm off for a little work...see y'all later!
good morning ladies
ReplyDeleteJust setting off for work. See aksels latest blog - who do you think 'we' is?
What a way to earn a living!
Have a good day.
Good morning!!! :)
ReplyDelete@Auntie LMAO! Claustrophobic feet! That's a good one!!! :D
@cjal So you did also see Pirmin Zurbriggen ski?! Now I'm really, really jealous!!! :D I never saw him ski, since I was 2 when he quit! :( haha and you saw Paul 'Päuli' Acoola too?! LOL funny guy! Haha and the equipment they used! :D I'm still lmao when I see old vid and this gear! :P It just looks so funny! I prefer the gear from nowadays, especially the spandex!!! ;P
You know, I saw Christian Neureuther and Rosi Mittermeier on german tv the last couple years! haha :) Don't ask me on which shows though! :D
@Marie I think 'we' is Aksel and I'd say Kjetil is there too! They sometimes seem to be joined at the hip or so! ;D Maybe Lars is there too! If he finished studying his ass off! :P That's my guess! Not sure about Truls though! :D
I'm really jealous right now! It looks like they're having sunshine and snow and here the weather sucks since sunday! I haven't seen the sun since then! :(
Wish you all a nice day and hope at least you have some sun! If yes, enjoy it a bit for me!!! :D
Short visit...
ReplyDelete@Anja: only to make you even more jealous ;-)
Yes, I saw Pirmin Zurbriggen, Päuli Accola and Vreni Schneider too. Even Ingemar Stenmark. Think that's enough - sometimes it's not too bad being old *lol*
@Auntie Em: claustrophobic feet... *lmao*
@Marie: I think he only mentioned "we" to make all the folks curious ;-)
Off again...
@Ladies: Good morning, afternoon , evening:) Hope your days are going well!
ReplyDelete
