One Month Aniversary & First Akselaholics Anonymous Meeting

It's been a great month! We have talked about so many things. We have learned many things about each other. *sigh* I'm glad that we could all come together & share our craziness with each other. It's been a great journey & I hope that it continues for a very long time. *cues the waiters to come in carring trays of The House Drinks* Don't worry there is enough for everyone. *cues other waiters with trays of food* Does everyone have their food & drinks? Ok good now on to the second portion of the evening. *hits self in the forhead* I forgot to ask if Aksel had anything to say. Where are my manners? *looks over @ Aksel enjoying his drink* Any words? *smiles sweetly*

First I would like to thank everyone for coming out this evening. Second I want to welcome each & everyone of you to the very first Akselaholics Anonymous Meeting. We will call it A.A. for short. Please do not confuse for the other A.A. *takes a sip of Aksel & thinks she should change it to the real A.A.* I invite you all to share your stories of addiction with the group.

House Drinks

The result for the house drinks are in!!! I hope you enjoy them.

Aksel(Addiction)

1oz Vodka

1/4oz Peach schnapps

1tsp Condensed Milk

1/2cups Orange Juice

Blend all ingredients together. Pour over ice into a highball glass.

Kjetil(Bohemian Bad Ass)

3oz Bailey's Irish Cream

2oz Beer

1oz Whiskey

Mix in a collins glass

Leif(Cowboy Killer)

1/3oz Bailey's Irish Cream

1/3oz Butter Shots

1/3oz Tequila

Mix with ice & strain into a shot glass.

Lars(Assassian)

1/3oz Jack Daniel's Whiskey

1/3oz Peppermint Schnapps

1/3oz Tequila

Coca Cola

Mix & serve in a cocktail glass

Simen(Honey Bunny)

2oz Absolut Vodka

1oz Blue Curacao

1oz Peach Tree Schnapps

Pear Cider

2oz Sour Mix

7-Up

Lemon Juice

Serve in a highball glass & use lots of ice.

Truls(Blue Nuke)

1oz bacardi 151 Proof Rum

1oz Blue Curacao

1oz Blueberry Liqueur

1oz Gin

1oz Vodka

Sour Mix

Mix Liquor in a collins glass with ice & fill with Sour Mix.

Havard(Bermuda Highball)

3/4oz Brandy

3/4oz Dry Vermouth

3/4oz Gin

Ginger Ale

Build in highball glass & fill with Ginger Ale. Garnish with a Lemon Twist.

• Shake & pour into a tall glass. Top with soda & garnish with lime squeeze.

Ski Boots

Everywhere I look there are ski boots...

I could not imagine what it must be like to be surrounded by a ton of ski boots & trying to find the perfect pair. It would be overwhelming. All the luck in the world to our fav Vikings in finding the perfect pair of boots.

We played the Wii. I love to bowl though I suck at it!
This is my friend Angel & her family, Emily, Mike & Michael.

Jess is singing Kung Fu Fighting, Michael is on the drums & Jonathan is on the guitar. In the back is my friend Angie & her daughter Becca. In the front left corner is Jonathan's brother Matt.

I'm singing Love is a Battlefield by Pat Benatar, Jonathan on the drums & his Mom on the guitar. They kept giving me the mic because I was signing along with every single song. Well we all were, but I was more willing than the others.

My sad attempt on the guitar. I'm much better at the vocals. Though I can't carry a tune in a bucket. Had a ton of fun & came home with only 4 cupcakes.

Spring Time in Ohio

This is what it looks like in Ohio right now. I love spring, but I miss the snow. *looks longingly at Aksel's pictures & sniffles* The pictures were taken up in Kirtland, OH at the stone quarry that the Mormons used for the building of Kirtland Temple & at Historical Kirtland. I think I may have to take another trip up there.

Chocolate

This is The Chocolate Kingdom at Daffin's in Sharon, PA. We would go there once a year every year when I was little. This particular time I went with a group from my church. It was Easter time & we all got bunny ears. I love the turtle. I'm torn between eating him & jumping on his back & go for a ride. Every year they add another layer of chocolate to these guys.

They have some of the best chocolate in the world. Then again it's not as good as Chocolate Ice Cubes. *yum* Sorry the pics are fuzzy I took them with my cell phone.

Dinner Date

Aksel got 2nd today. He also had a dinner date with Hans Olsson. I want to know the details. Where they went, what was ordered, was it a fancy or jeans & t-shirt restaurant & whose place they ended up at. *giggle* You know for a game of Rockband or maybe even Scrabble. Maybe they went to they movies too. I so need to sleep right now. Zzzzzzzzz

Baby Blanket

I made this blanket for a girl at work. She had a baby boy in Febuary. I gave it to her today & she loved it! I have 2 or 3 more baby blankets & 2 bookmarks to make. Then I'm taking a break from crocheting!

I think Aksel took my challenge seriously...I ain't got anything cooler than being in a commercial for gummy bear vitamins. *sighs & hangs head in shame* You win this one. *hands over blog award* Now don't lose it in that mess at your Dads, I may win it back.

New Computer

Yup I got an Acer. They didn't have the Dell I wanted :-( so I went with my second choice. It's an Aspire 7736Z-4088, it has 3GB Memory & has 3.5 hours of battery life. I like it so far. I just gotta put all my stuff on here now. I'm very excited about playing with my new computer.

Blog Party III: Goodbye Betty!!!

Betty is over with. *breaks down crying* I have watched Betty from the begining. Mostly because of Daniel...but also because I love a good romance. Well it was mostly sexual tense between these two. I'm so glad that he followed her to London. I think I'll rewrite the song Johnny & June & make it Betty & Daniel. They are taking all my shows away. *looks over at the TV people* If I promise to be very very good can I please keep my shows? *bottom lip trembles* Today was not a good day. *starts mixing up a pitcher of strawberry daquiris*

On the bright side this blog is still a safe place where we all can come & have fun.

Goodbye Marius :-( Atomic Vs. Head

I'm sad that Marius is leaving, but it will give him more time to spend with his family. Family is very important especially if you have young children. When I was little my Dad was away on a construction job & he shaved his beard off. When he came home I didn't know who he was. That just about killed him. He quit his job so that he could spend time with me. So I would know he was my Daddy. Back to Marius. Great guy gonna miss him.
Rumor is Aksel has left Atomic for Head. Don't know if it's true or not. I've read the articles & read what everyone thinks. If they make him faster go for it. If it's for the money that's ok too. Traveling isn't cheap. Neither is paying people to take care of your equipment. Either way who am I to judge. I would go with the money as long as the skis made me faster. He still has Atomic on his blog.

Lost

I don't know if any of you watch Lost. In a month & 11 days it's all coming to an end. They said there would be no questions this season. I have questions. Hopefully all will be revealed before the series finally.

Happy Birthday Bella!!!!!

Bella turned 6 on the 8th. We had her party today. My little niece is growing up way too fast. I remember sitting in the hospital waiting & waiting for her to be born. It's crazy how you can remember bringing home a baby, but can't remember why you walked into a room.

Party Planning

YAY!!! Our fav Viking is back, but he's sick. Here's the plan. We are going to go nurse him back to health & then throw a huge party. We gotta pick who is bringing what & where to have it. Here or Aksels' blog? Balloons? Streamers? Signs? Confetti? Cake & drinks are a must have. Maybe we could get Longstockings to bring some cupcakes.

Party on the Blog II: Movie Fest

I spent the night at my Bestest Friends house & we watched a couple movies. I'm not really great at movie reviews, but I'll try to keep them short & sweet & try not to give too much away. What movies have you girls seen lately?

Boondock Saints II: All Saints Day: If you haven't seen either of the movies I suggest you rent or buy them. It's about two brothers who go on a killing spree. They only kill the bad guys. In this one the boys get framed for killing a priest. Being good Catholic boys they are offended & go back to Boston. We learn how their Dad got started in his killing & how & why he went to prison.

Atonment: Good drama/romance film. Two lovers are torn apart because of a crime that he didn't commit, but was blamed for. The girl who accused him realized too late that it wasn't him & so she writes Atonment as her last book to make up for the all wrong she did them.

Precious: I cried. I did. It's so sad to know that people really do live like that. Her Mom beat her & her Dad raped her. Got her pregnant not once, but twice. Her Mom blamed her for taking her man & making him leave. Her Dad dies & so her Mom goes to her & tells her that he was HIV positive. So she gets tested & she has it too. It's a really sad movie. I'm tearing up while I'm writing this. It is a must see.

The Jane Austen Book Club: Love this movie. Of course I love Jane Austen. It's filled with drama & romance. Twists & turns. It's a great movie. I don't wanna say too much about it because I may give away the entire movie. It's another must see.

What draws us to Norwegian men?

What do we like about Aksel? Besides his skiing. What is it about Norwegian men that appeals to us?

I like the whole package myself. Hair, eyes, nose, smile...you get the picture right? I like everything about him. From being a down to earth kind of guy to working with kids. What's not to like?

From what I have learned about Norwegian men they are friendly, easy-going & very easy to love. They just appeal to the Viking in me.

Remember this isn't just about Aksel. It's about all Norwegian men & what we like about them.
