    yes, you're right, corinna.
The volcano Shinmoedake erupted, I think it was in February, and it is sitll active. According to the record, the last eruption of Shinmoedake was in the 17th century, so it woke up after 300 years of sleep, so I didn't know even the name of it until it erupted weeks ago. We have many volcanoes in Japan.
As you say, Shinmoedake is located in south far from here.

Sorry dear Ekaterina, I have not so much spoken to you, but I am kind of speechless!

I watched the news and also many specials on Swiss TV and I must say I am shocked! So many terrible things come together in Japan.

Dear Ekaterina, I have difficulties to find the right words, but believe me all my thinking and prayers go to you and the brave Japanese people.

Send all my best wished to you and your dad!

    Keep in touch, dear Ekaterina!

  7. @corinna, @Nicoletta, @all ladies !
    Thanks always !

We're not sure about an causal relationship between the earthquake on last Friday and the eruption of Shinmoedake. But we have had several earthquakes which were below 7.0 in various area in Japan since last Friday.
As corinna mentioned, there is 70% of posibilities that another big earthquake will happen in the same area as last Friday. So we take care of our daily life now.

Then, Fukushima 1-nr2 has the trouble now. Fukushima 1-nr1 & nr3 had a hydrogen explosion already, and now nr.2 ..... I'm afraid it's a matter of time when it exploses. ( sigh )

In disastrous area, more than 450,000 people are evacuated, about 1,800 people are confirmed dead, and about 18,000 people still missing. The report says this afternoon that about 1,000 dead bodies landed on the beach from the sea. This 1,000 belongs to the missing, I guess.

While in Tokyo, our life is safe, but not as usual as before, because of the shortage of the electricity.

Tokyo consists of the two parts.
The center part which consists of 24 wards ( we call it " ku " ), and they are the heart and brain not only of Tokyo, but also of Japan. I live in Shibuya-ku, though I wouldn't think I render any service to it ... ;-))). The population of 24 wards is about 8 millon.
The other part is the outskirts and its population is about 5 million. The total 13 milion is a little more than 10 % of the whole population of Japan. But the daytime population in the center part of Japan is enormous, bc people in the outskirts and people living in the other prefectures come to the center part of Tokyo ( 24-ku )to work.

Then, the shortage of the electricity due to the earthquake comes right now. We've just started the big project of saving the use of the electricity today.

  8. Hi! everyone. Just popped in to check on everyone.

@Ekaterina I'm so relieved that you are safely in Shibuya-ku my dear Ekaterina. I'm thinking of you and sending positive thoughts your way. Hope you, you Dad, and baby sis are getting through this tough time just fine. I'm so sad for all the lives lost. Hope you will not be without power for long.

@Dana I hope your feeling better. I was not on the computer all weekend so I've missed what is going on with you?

Ladies, have a great week! Take care! Hugs all around. :)

  9. @corinna, @Nicoletta, and @all ladies !
    ... continues ...

The railway service in 24-ku was cut down to 50 % of the usual days. and the railway service in the outskirts are cut down to 0 % or about 20%. As a result, it has become difficult for people who are not living in the 24-ku to come into the 24-ku to work. Eventually they try to come by doing anything, some by bike, some on foot to the station where the train takes them to the 24-ku.

And the government feels it is not enough to solve the shortage of the electricity, they let " Rolling Blackouts " start today.
The Rolling Blackouts is that, Tokyo & 8 prefectures are devided into the 5 groups, and each group has about 3-hour blackouts a day.
But the demand & supply of the electricity changes every day, so we had only one time of blackouts from 17:00 to 19:00 in some area of one of the groups today.
We've never had the Rolling Blackouts before, the government says we had it about 60 years ago just after the WWII.
We are not informed about the Rolling Blackouts tomorrow.

    Anyhow, we stay calm today.

Hope you enjoy a happy new week !
    Kisses & Hugs !

    Hi my dear Sis!
How are you? What have you done these days?

I can't say I'm fine, my heart went crazy and I'm a bit scared bc of this, it's the first time when something like this it happens to me! I have an appointment to the doctor this week and I'll see if it's something serious or it's just my thyroid that's playing tough games with me!:)) I also have to do some blood tests and go to the endocrinologist! I don't like to go to the doctor! If you wanna punish me, send me to the doctor!! LOL

Anyway, I try to enjoy these beautiful days of spring, I spend more time outside playing with Mishu and Zorro! They're so happy when I pay them attention! Haha! I also work in the garden with Tudor and my dad, we clean up and prepare the soil for sowing and planting!

Wish you a wonderful week too! Be good girl!:)
    Love you!

I am very concerned that you have again problems with your health, Dana. Problems with the heart are always scary. I understand that you do not like to go to the doctor, I hate it too.

Take care, dear Dana, hopefully everything turns to the best for you!

  13. @Ekaterina

Wish you and your dad and the baby sister again all the best, dear Ekaterina!

Hope sincerely the problems with the nuclear power stations are under control and nothing severe will happen. This is problem no 1, I presume.

Approx. every 4 hours Swiss TV brings news from the situation in Japan. Reporter staying in Japan, professors of nuclear science and other experts are explaining the situation. Next one will be in 5 minutes.

Look good for you and your dad and baby sister. I am thinking all the time of you.

    @To all Ladies

    Hugs & Kisses!
    Have a good week!

Thank you for your concern, my dear! Heart problems look scary always, but I hope it's again my thyroid! It has so many symptoms that lead you to think of other totally different diseases!
But I'm glad that you understand me, that it's not a pleasure to go to the doctor! :-))

Wish you a pleasant evening and a beautiful week! Kisses and hugs!
