One Year Together...

I can't believe that it has been a year already! Time sure does fly when you're having fun. It has been a fun year & I hope we have a ton more.
Aksel in a worried voice: Don't scratch the skiis! Don't scratch the skiis!

Man: I'm not gonna scratch the skiis!

Aksel even more worried: Don't scratch the skiis!

Man in annoyed voice: Aksel, I'm not gonna scratch the skiis!

Aksel: Ok, just don't scratch the skiis.

Purple guy: Ok, so here's the deal. Your gonna go right & I'm gonna go left.

Aksel: Ok let me see if I got this straight. I'm gonna go left & your gonna go right?

Purple guy: No, I'm gonna go left & your gonna go right.

Aksel: Is that a polar bear?

Guys: We don't see a polar bear.

Aksel: There is a polar bear, right over there.

Guys: Have you been drinking Mel's drinks again?

Aksel: I swear there is a polar bear over there! What does sampling a few house drinks have to do with anything?

Guys laughing: Nope it's not a polar bear. It's one of your stalkers dressed up as a polar bear.

Aksel: Maybe if we just smile & pose they will go away.

Aksel: Who? No I'm sorry I don't know who Aksel Lund Svindal is? *thinks to himself I thought I was incognito. Maybe I shouldn't have worn my Red Bull helmet.*

Once in 26,000 years sounds really exciting !
I understood it's the circle of the calendar.

Although I'm not sure you know about it, we have one more calendar in Japan. It's the calendar of reign of our Emperor, and we normaly use this calendar in the (domestic) official document. Every calendar has its own name which is different from the name of Emperor. For example the name of acting Emperor is Akihito, but the name of the calendar is Heisei. And the year 2011 is, according to it, the year Heisei 23. That means Emperor Akihito has been Emperor for 23 years. However I often forget about it ! ... ;-))) You can make the host family of your friend surprised that you " know it " !
The pronunciation of Heisei is ; "Hei" is the same as "hay" which dana loves lying, and "sei" is the same as "say".
What does "hay" speak ? ... I think maybe dana knows it ! ..... ;-)))))

  3. @Nicoletta. and @all ladies !

    Nicolas Sarkozy visited us yesterday.
The purpose of his visit is apparent. The Nuclear Power Plant.

The top users of the nuclear power in the world are, 1. the United States of America, 2. France, and 3. Japan.

But France is the country the most relys on the nuke. It's about 70% of the whole energy.

The great difference between the US & France and Japan is the level of the risk & crisis management. They get the AAA, and we get disqualified.

I personally agree with the nuclear power, bc it's the best so far if it is managed safely.
Of course I want to have another energy which can contribute to the environment, however we haven't had it yet.

Japan is the country without any natural resources. It might be nice if our human resources can be replaced to the nuclear power, but we haven't developed it yet.

The reason Sarkozy visited us yesterday is that he wants to promote the nuclear power, bc it's France's national industry. It's his message to us, and I think he's right.
Personally again, I'm happy with his visit in this difficult moment. It's not only France promised to help us get out of this situation in the Fukushima 1, but also he advised our government not to give up the nuclear power.

The United States stand almost in same stance, bc Obama has the policy for the clean energy. What is more, the US and Japan have been strong ally since the end of the WWII. It's about China. ...

Although there is such a background, we're so much pleased with their help on the Fukushima 1.

I hope our government does not decide to give up the modern life and decides to come back to the primitive ages. But in case sadly they give up the modern life, dear all ladies, you can visit us whenever you want to feel like Paul Gauguin. .....

    Kisses & Hugs !

  4. Happy Anniversary of the blog! I'll have to go back and read some of the early entries. I was a lurker for a long time...that is a good looking cupcake and ALS isn't bad either.

@Mel Great blog! Thanks for all you do! Did you read where Prince Harry has started hiking from Norway to the North Pole with disabled war veterans. It's a fund raiser or charity event. They are all armed with guns because of the threat of polar bears. Hope he makes it back in time for the Royal Wedding.

@Dana My dear Sis! It's April Fool's Day here too! We usually celebrate by playing a joke on someone. I haven't thought of anything yet? Bet you're good at playing pranks.

@Ekaterina I certainly hope the US is doing everything they can to help Japan! I feel like we're more than strong allies but dear friends!

Hope everyone has a great weekend! FIMH

  5. Again, HAPPY ANNIVERSARY OF THE BLOG!!!

I'm so happy and proud to have such amazing friends as you all!

    @Mel
Thank you for the blog and for this nice and funny post! I told you so many times that you have a great sense of humor!:)))

    @Giffy
Thanks, Sis, but in this moment I'm not able even to think right, I have a terrible headache!!! Maybe the weather is changing. I think I can work for weather forecast! LOL

Have a beautiful day, my friends! Love you all!

    ReplyDelete
  6. @Dana & Giffy I totally forgot it was April Fools' Day! LOL

@Dana I hope your headache goes away. I'm glad you get my humor. Some people don't.

@Giffy I didn't know that Prince Harry was out & about in Norway with Veterans. I hope that they don't have to use the guns on the poor polar bears. I'm sure he'll be back before the wedding.

@Ekaterina That's really cool that the President of France came to visit. I hope the government doesn't decide to take Japan back to the primitive age. That would suck for the economy. BTW I had to make the pic from ALS turn the right way. I hate it when I have to turn my head to the side to look at pics.

Well I'm off to class. Catch ya'll later.

    @Ekaterina HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!

I really need to write these things down on a calendar.

  13. @Giffy.
Thanks, my dear Giffy ! We feel the same as you do. Do you know the name of the operation developed in Japan by the US military forces ? It is " the Operation Tomodachi " and tomodachi means friends in Japanese. I hope you can imagine how much we are encouraged to know the name of it. The pronunciation is ; "to" is the same as "to" in *toil*, "mo" is the same as "mo" in *moist*, "da" is nearly the same as "du" in *duck", and "chi" is the same as "chi" in *children*. You might know it while you worked in Honda. And mormally, we ladies add "o", like otomodachi.

btw, I hope prince Harry will not meet the polar bear, bc it does not look a proper gift for his brother's wedding. Prince William & princess kate will have to order much bigger bed to sleep with it ! ... ;-)))

Have a lovery weekend, my dear Giffy !

  14. @Nicoletta. @dana. @corinna. @ Mel.

Thank you very much for your nice wishes to me !!!

yes, my BD is the same as this great blog, and I'm proud of it !!!
I knew it shortly after I started visiting here, that was back in last October or so.
and I was thinking about introducing it to you im March, and then, March 11 came suddenly..... and I missed the opportunity to do it.

Truly I'm pleased with your notice of my BD especially this year, I think.
Because, since March 11, there has been a kind of atmosphere in Japan that gently forbids any celebration, and many parties planned and even weddings were cancelled or postponed. and you know reason why. ...

But, don't worry. My dad took me to the restaurant for dinner which served the chocolate fondu for the dessert, while my baby sis was sleeping.

It's been not so cold to be in polar bear suit, but not so warm as in Zurich. It's just unstable as in Campina. I think the cherry blossoms will be in full bloom next weekend. I see just a few blossoms in our cherry tree at the entrance of our house today.

    Thanks again!
and hope you enjoy a happy spring day, and in good health especially to dana.
    Kisses & Hugs !

I'm so happy that you had a nice dinner with your dad at the restaurant! I'm sure your mom was there too, enjoying to be together in this special day!

Thank you so much for thinking of me and my health! You're very kind, as always!

I think in a day or two the apricot blossom will be in full bloom here and then we expect for the cherry blossom!:) I like to stay in my garden or to keep my window open to feel the sweet fragrance of these delicate blossoms!

Have a pleasant weekend, my dear Ekaterina! Hugs and kisses!

  17. @dana.
    Thanks !

I believe your health will be healed by spring blossoms, dear dana. I've heard that it's good for lungs to stand or sit under the cherry tree blossoms full in bloom. You can try it soon !

Hope you have a peaceful rest and a pleasant time on this weekend, my dear dana !

Now I know why the Norwegian cross-country skiers are the best: bc they are training with a polar bear on their track!!! Hahaha!
Thanks for the link, I watched some more videos with polar bears, younger or older, but all nice and funny!:))

    @Nicoletta
I was just joking, I know you were talking about Mel's post, about THIS polar bear! Haha!

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_MMrms_aB9k&feature=related

The bear in that video is a real one!!!

    Kisses and hugs all around!

  20. @Dana & Ekaterina LOL I love the polar bear videos!

@Ekaterina I'm glad you got to go out for your birthday. Did you enjoy the chocolate fondu?

I came home early from work today because my shouldar is starting to hurt like it did before surgery. :-( I'm gonna call the doctor Monday & see if he'll do another MRI to see if anything got torn again. I hope it didn't. I don't want to go through this again. :-(

    ReplyDelete
  21. @dana.
I'd rather think the polar bear is their coach in the cross country ski. ... ;-)))

Thanks for the link, dana. yes, that's the REAL one !

Have a restful Sunday, my dear dana ! Hugs !

  22. @Mel.
!!! What happened to your shoulder, then, my dear Mel !? !!! I do hope it is nothing serious, and only some little exercise will help it back to normal. Anyhow please let us know what your doctor tells you about it on Monday. Crossing fingers for you, my dear Mel ! .....

yes, chocolate fondu in the Westing Hotel is really nice. The chocolate flows from the tower which looks like the tower of Babel. ...:-))) It's a chocolate cascade.
But I worried a bit about it before I went there, bc since March 11, people are strictly recommended to save the power due to the shortage, and this chocolate cascade is run by power. So, in the evening of April, when we entered into the restaurant and found it working, my dad and I shouted, " We've done it !!! "

Hope you have a restful Sunday, my dear Mel. I think you had better NOT move your arm and shoulder as you did on Saturday. Hugs !

    ReplyDelete
  23. @Mel
I don't understand why your shoulder hurts again! Did you do some inappropriate moves? Did you do too much effort?
As @Ekaterina said, please, let us know what is about!

Take care of yourself, dear Mel! Love you!

    @Ekaterina
You're right! And I think some other skiers need a coach like this too!!! lol

Have a beautiful Sunday, my dear Ekaterina! Love!
