    Hi ! Nicoletta !
It has been cold in Tokyo. The temperature now is about 8C, I think. But I saw one butterfly flying yesterday. Maybe the overslept one !
I feel the same as you, that is, it depends on the wind that we feel colder or not. And the winter in Tokyo is really dry, the below 20%
of humidity, meanwhile we have a hot and wet summer with the humidity more than 80% !

btw, I visited the book store yesterday. I wanted to order the biography of General Henri Guisan. and I knew there was one published, but it was in 1985 and I could not buy it anymore. I talked with the person in the book shop who has a knowledge of library, then she suggested me another one which is not the biography, but wrote about the process which General Guisan devoted. So I decided to order this one. I'll get it this weekend. very much looking forward to it, Nicoletta !

Then, thanks again for the link of Levi ! I checked the result of the race when I was back home last night. It is very helpful !

Have a plesant evening, Nicoletta !

    Hi, dana !
26C !? Summer day in November. ... In Tokyo, it looks like a winter now, but we had a day with the temperature 25C once in December in the past. Normally we seldom have the below zero temperature in Tokyo even in the real winter.

Then, dana, my cabbage is doing well. There seems no dramatic change happened right now. I enjoy checking it out every night & day !

Have a happy evening, dana !

  6. @Corinna & Mel thanks for these nice videos! As Ekaterina said the atmosphere is great there!
    Kjetil looks so funny! LOL

@Ekaterina Yes, here has been was very warm today again, it's like in the early summer time! Some trees have blossomed for the second time this year and I think this is not good! But we enjoy this beautiful weather!

About the cabbage, I guess the most dramatic change is the smell! LOL
But I think in a few days it will be ready!
I read again the recipe on the link I sent you and I have to tell you I don't fry the onion before, I just chop it finely and mix it with the meat, the rice and the spices. You have to put some chopped cabbage on the bottom of the pot too, not only cover the sarmale with it. For this chop the middle of the cabbage, bc the leaves are too small and you can't roll sarmale in them. If the cabbage leaves are very big you can make even 3 sarmale from one leaf. Usually, from 1 kg of meat you can make approx. 55-60 sarmale, depends how big you make them. And for this quantity of meat I put a normal cup of rice. I use ready-made tomato sauce, the taste is as good as with fresh tomatoes. You dilute one big tablespoon of tomato sauce in the water you pour over to boil them.
If there's something you want to know, just ask, I'm here if you need me!

I think you are in bed at this hour, so good night and sweet dreams, Ekaterina! Have a good next day! Hugs!

@Nicole Hi sweetie! What a great surprise to see you!! Hope you are fine! I miss you! Love you!

@Nicoletta Hi there! I think I need your treatment with red wine and chocolate! LOL Or some antibiotics!!! Hope you are fine! Hugs!

The weather in Switzerland is a bit crazy this year, since August it is very unstable. Today it is raining again, and it will be cold the next couple of days around 5-6 degrees. Last week it was kind of warm with the Föhn (warm wind) with 15-16 degrees and sunny.

That is exactely the point, what makes you sick. It is difficult to put on the right clothes and so you start to sweat and afterwards it is perhaps a little bit windy, and again and again I am going back to my silly cold.

I reduced my cure with the red wine & the chocolate because with not enough moving around I will turn into "the Michelin woman" soon. LOL

So, as I got ill on Sunday again, I try to be very quiet and postphone things a little bit. As my Herzblatt (new name for my partner) has finally got ill too, we can open a lazareth, Ha, Ha.

    @Dana
If you can, Dana, do not stress around. Maybe a bit of red wine and chocolate is good for you. I presume Romanian wine is very good?

It was so warm at your place, maybe in the evening it gets a bid colder and whuush... you can get a cold.

    @Ekaterina/Dana
On Saturday evening I was thinking of you, because I saw an interesting documentation about the 2nd World War, it was kind of special (over 3 hours).

It was about the "War in the Air" over Germany, that means bombing of German cities during the years 1942-1945.

It was quite interesting to see what happend at that time. A lot of pictures, films and also some interviews with former pilots of the bombers (really veterans)! Several Historicians, etc.

The film was absolutly not judging (and I am not judging too!!!).

Fact is, the Allies (British and American) wanted to bring the Nazis to the ground. It has become kind of industry to develop and produce more and more bombers and war strategies.

They started to bomb with Hamburg, than Berlin, and bombed strategigally 161 German cities. The British during the night, and the American flew during the day. They started first to hit stratic points like harbours, factories producing wappens, railway systems, oil raffineries and mines, but also they wanted to force the Nazis to give up and especially to demoralize the German people.

I was shocked as well as fascinated what happend on both side.
They historian informed about the strategy and the pilots about their life and feeling at this time.

    @Ekaterina
I am glad you finally found a book about General Henri Guisan. Hope it is informing and interesting too!

Regarding "War in the Air" I read last year a beautiful and fascinating novel. Being a pilot of a bomber resp. flying in crew ment, you never know if you are going to return after a flight.

The book is also about love, the feelings and life of the very young men (ca. 16-24). The USA bombers were stationated somewhere in England and had to flew over Nazi Germany.

The book is written by Robert Mawson under the name "Under an English Heaven", year 2002, if you are interested to read it. But there will be different ones with this background.

Have a nice evening/sweet dreams and stay healthy!!!

I am now on my way to get healthy again. Hope it will last this time! LOL

You know what's funny? I saw some days ago a documentary about Romanian and American pilots from the WW2, some of them are still alive though very old! Very interesting and moving! Our pilots met some years ago the Americans after so many decades! They talked about those times and their feelings about everything that meant war for them and for all.
My capital district-Ploiesti and my town was bombed by the US bc here are oil refineries. And they talked about this!
In Ploiesti is the first oil refinery in the world (1857)! Is modernized and still functional.

  12. @Nicoletta Haha! Of course your text is here!!I saw it from the beginning but it took me so long to answer you bc while I was writing you rang my mobile! LOL

As I love history I will also look for a book about General Henri Guisan. You inspired me, Ekaterina!

This morning suddenly I was thinking of Pearl Harbour. I asked my Herzblatt at which year it was and got keen to know more about.
I saw just the movie and checked out a bit the Wikipedia today. That would also be an interesting part of the WW2 to read about.

Strategie during wars is one thing, but there is an incredible lot of manipulation too.

    @Dana
That is typical, that they bombed on the oil refineries in Romania! It is nice that you saw this documentation with the veteran pilots. Yes, it is very much moving and fascination to hear them speaking about this time. I felt exactly the same.

    Have a enjoyable day/evening!

    ReplyDelete
  18. @dana.
yes, I was sleeping when you posted. But the first thing I do in the next morning is always checking the site. It is because of the 8 hours difference of the timezone, as you see.

and I've also heard the second blossom of the tree in one season. I think the long-months temperature and the sun give them some kind of the signal to come into blossom. I had a similar experience with the morning glory. In Tokyo in summer, we have sometimes the heavy and the strong thundershower. It comes with the very dark clouds, so we have to put on the light even if it is daytime. Actually it becomes really dark as if it is midnight. And after the thundershower finishes, the strong sun of summer comes back. and it happened at that moment. Some of the buds of the morning glory came into blossoms which were to come into blossom the next morning. They misunderstood it was morning when the strong sun appeared after the darkness in the daytime due to the thundershower.

Then dana ! Thanks for your kind and precious advices ! In the second stage, I will not fry the onion, and mix the fresh onion chopped fine with the meat of the minced beaf 50% and the minced pork 50%, as your helpful instruction. and OK with the tomate sauce, and the portion of the rice is 1kg of the meat to 1 cup of the rice. And, dana, I'm wondering if I put some white wine in the water or not, because when I cook, I pour some osake or some white wine. How do you think about it ?
And back still again to the first stage, the condition of my cabbage today is that the smell has become a bit stronger and small ( only small ) part of the cabbage has become a little bit white. But it still wants to float..... so I have just told it, " You are to be done some finishing touches so that you make a debut in the finest dress. I'm making it for you. " Do you think it understands me ? dana ?

Have a nice evening with the socond blossom, dana !

  19. @Nicoletta.
You still have a warm wind in Zurich ? Nicoletta !? yes, I suppose it is difficult to decide what to wear, because the temperature in Zurich is now sometimes below 10C, as you informed me. And I do hope you and your partner are surely on the way to become well succsufully ! In Tokyo in this time, the wind is sometimes cold and sometimes not so cold, and the next warm wind comes next March. Every year we have the first warm wind ( very very heavy and strong one ! )in March and we call it ( the wind ) " The spring No.1 " It sounds funny, as it is the direct translation from Japanese.

    @Nicoletta & dana.
I love to read, watch and think about the hisoty, too ! That's why I majored in history at Uni. But I didn't pursue my career in history, because I've already started another career while I was studying history at Uni.
Nicoletta & dana, I'm a private piano teacher.

yes, Berlin, Hamburg( I've not been there yet, though ), Dresden, Lubeck, ..... Actually the Nazis bombed London, too. But the Allies' bomb against Germany was done in the huge scale. They even bombed the Festspielehaus in Bayreuth, and it is not because Hitler loved Bayreuth, it is because they misunderstood the Festspielehaus as the brewery. They aimed at destroying the industry, and the Festspielehaus looks alike the brewery. And furthermore I was surprised when I visited Wismar few years ago. There are the big historically important churches in Wismar, but Wismar once belonged to DDR, so they were left not to be restored during DDR period. and after the unification of Germany, it naturally took long time to start the actual work of the restoration. So when I visited Wismar, they were still on the way.

btw, you heard about Hiroshima & Nagasaki, didn't you ? My conclusion is it was our fatal mistake that Japanese government then did't accept the Potsdom Declaration in July, 1945. We were demanded by the Allies to accept the unconditional surrender, but the Japanese government then refused it, and as the result the catastrophe occurred in those two cities.
The reason they refused it is too simple. My country then was the aggressive militarism nation. They never cared about the life of the population. ...continued ...

Poor buds you told me about! LOL They are confused bc of the storm darkness and don't know it's not a new morning but it just has brightened! It's happening the same with our trees, in October was much more cold than these weeks and now they thought it's spring again! And blossomed!

Yes, you understood well about the meat, onion, rice and tomato sauce! I think you better drink some osake before and some white wine after you'll eat sarmale! Haha! But don't put them in water. The sour cabbage and alcohol boiling mixture it's not the best combination!
About the first stage: the cabbage will not sink to the bottom but it will not float as much as the beginning, you have to check if the brine become sour enough. You can turn the cabbage up side down if it's not all covered by brine, but you said you put some dry dill to keep it in the water!
I think the water is turbid now, right?

And yes, I think the cabbage understands you very well, my dear Ekaterina!:-))

Piano teacher!!! It's wonderful!! Now I understand completely your passion for music! I know you majored in History and I thought you pursued your career in it! But I've never thought you are a piano teacher! Congrats!

Have a restful night and a nice Wednesday! Hugs!

It is the great difference between the General Henri Guisan and our generals in those days.
About 5-6 months before the Potsdom Declaration, The Allies ( that time the US air-force ) bombed various cities in Japan, and Tokyo was one of them. In those days, the houses in Japan were made from woods, so the best and easiest way to destroy the whole city was to burn. So they dropped the special brend bomb called the fire bomb, and then the nearly whole part of the center of Tokyo changed its appearance into the vast burning field. It was the fist experience in our history and hopefully the last one that the city was buring with 1,000C due to the special brend fire bomb. Nicoletta, & dana, I write this, because " Air raid against Tokyo " was already the catastrophe, because at least 20 milion people lost their lives only in Tokyo. But inspite of this fact, Japanese government then refused to accept the Potsdom Declaration.

It is easy to start war, but very hard to make it end. And as for Pearl Harbor, it is true there are plenty of manipulation. I always think the diplomacy must live with the militaly. The mutual understanding is the only the way to avoid the war.

Sorry for such a long posting, Nicoletta & dana !

    Have a happy evening ! I'm going to bed. Good-night. Hugs !

  23. News from the doctor: I'm going back to therapy & still on light duty. He said that it's going to take time. :-( I want back on the registers.

News about the Pharmacy Guy: His name is Brandon. According to Karen from the pharmacy he has a gorgeous house & he makes at least $52 an hour. I had to get my perscription filled & he was all Miss this & Miss that. It was very cute & he was very polite. He asked if I had taken Naprox before & I said yeah a few years ago for my wrist. He told me to be sure to take it with food or I would get an upset stomach. *giggles* Any other pharmacist would have said ok & walked away. He has pretty greyish brown eyes & he chopped all his hair off. :-(

Funny story: They had a surgical student following the doctor around today his name was Michael Myers. I wanted to say something funny, but I figured that he had heard it all his life so I kept my mouth shut.

Hope you all had a great weekend.

  24. @Mel Sorry for your shoulder! I know sometimes things like this take a lot of time till get well! Have patience my dear!

But what great news about Brandon!! He seems a nice guy! Has he a girlfriend or someone to hang out?
If he takes care of your stomach, maybe you'll take care of his and you'll make some cake for him! LOL

I think "Mike Myers" appreciated you didn't make jokes regarding his name, like the others! LOL Sometimes is good to keep your mouth shut!

Wish your shoulder get well soon! Love you!

  25. Hi Girls

I love it absolutly to read all your comments. So many subjects, LOL!! But for sure, I love them all!!

    @Ekaterina

Thank you for all the historical information, Ekaterina.
Yes the Allies bombed a lot, sometimes it was a bit of a roulette, I would say.

In the documentation film they said, they started bombing in 1942 until 1945. But in the last half year of the WW2 they were bombing more as the total of all the previous years before.

The Allies had invented a huge war industry with the bombers and obviously could easily recruit new young soldiers.

Nobody knows exactly why the destroyed for example Dresden at the end of the war. There are a lot of questions open.

Yesterday I read in the newspaper that USA gave jobs to some excellent Nazi guys, like Werner from Braun, etc. They worked afterwards for the USA space travel.

    You see, that is History!!

Some time ago I saw a film about Hiroshima & Nagasaki and I lernt now something about the background from you. Thanks Ekaterina. I knew there was an incredible reason that such kind of horror happened.

Yesterday I had the same troubles with the text like you Ekaterina, so a make a break now.

    Part II will follow!

That is absolutely beautiful that you are a piano teacher. So you are combining the hobby with your work?

I used to go to the Zurich Opera house from 1995 til 2005 very regularly because I had an arrangement (ticket for 6 times every year). I like operas an also ballet.

I love especially to listen to absolute genious voices. That is so beautiful, and I am sure I can hear immediately if a singer has an outstanding and very special voice.

Say never no, maybe I start once again to go there!

Lately I was thinking of you, maybe you are also interested in ballet??

So I could recommend you deeply Heinz Spörli. Hopefully he comes once to Tokyo. I post two links:

the dog is fine, i just went out to get some fresh air and he was in the garden of my neighbours, he is fine, but 14 years old, but a good dude! the good thing is he hasn´t pain and everyone take care of him. my dad always says that he will be in his next live a dog, but only a dog like that one of the neighbours bc everyone looks after him!

  57. Hello Girls

You see, they have fun together! And men obviously stay men...... LOL!

I was laughing too, because they make all so happy and satisfied faces. Ha, Ha.

And the best I found the remark of the Hotel Manager that I copy now:

"But then the Manager of public relationships from Fairmont came & asked us if it was possible to shape it differently. That was to bad, we had such a nice shape & proportions going to create a master piece! :) ahhah"

If they really stay it this beautiful first class hotel, the have a lot of luck and cannot complain. That would also be my style.... LOL!

Or did I understand something wrong?

I think it is time now they have some fun after this 26 hour travel to Canada! And the slalom guys had even more to travel before.. .
But as you can see these are all young, strong and healthy guys with a good constitution.

So go on girls, catch up a bit of that energy!

Have a good time/evening/night! Maybe I have look later on here.

    ReplyDelete
  61. @Corinna Hehehe! I think is Kjetil's business!!! Remember what Aksel said when he was fighting with him about their golf match, that Kjetil has the BIGGEST balls! LMAO
So we have to believe him, they spent a lot of time together! God, are we crazy? Haha!

  67. Corinna I found on a Romanian site an interview with Wolfgang Schaeuble and it seems the situation is very serious! And he said the question is not "if" but "when" it will happen!
It's terrible to live in terror, the insecurity is awful!

    ReplyDelete
  68. @dana since tonight i didn´t know that we had a warning! but then i read it on the internet! but my dad said they just want to make some panic! and if she really would know this then she would already know where it would be!

yes it is horrible when you know something will happen but you don´t know when and where

    ReplyDelete
  69. Hey what's going on here. LOL Now the Vikings have landed in Canada!!! Whish you guys some good training!!

    ReplyDelete
  70. @Corinna Lets hope nothing bad is gonna happen, maybe they just want to create panic!
Some years ago we had some terror warnings at some embassies in Bucharest, but our Security Services did a great job, they managed very well the whole situation and nothing bad happened. I remember I saw on tv a lot of police on the streets, at the subway and near the targeted embassies.

    ReplyDelete
  71. @AM It's about the time! We've missed you on our conversation about BIG things! LOL

    ReplyDelete
  72. @dana we had some years ago also once before a terror attack but the police was able to stop it by the right time!
some said that the politicals just make panic bc it was time about to make panic! i just hope that they can protect us by the right way if really would be happen something!

@am hi girl! have you seen the super duper BIG penis?? haha i be able to say something like this!

    ReplyDelete
  73. @AM&Corinna maybe the guys wanted to do exactly this, not a snowman! LMAO I think this is a subliminal message! Haha!

    ReplyDelete
  74. @dana maybe they wanted to give us girls something to talk about

  88. @Corinna & AM I read again what is written below of the pics on Olsson blog and look what he said: "After a while with the hands of a true artists, lars myhre & I turned the mighty tribute into a nice and firm..." So we have to understand that they make their "things" nice (well, de gustibus!)and firm with the help of their own hands, right? I apologize, girls, I don't want to be rude and naughty, I just want to be sure I understand properly! lmao
So our guys can HANDLE IT!!!
