  1. @Mel Thank you so much!! Your comments about every pic are awesome, as usual!!!! Haha!
In the first pic Aksel looks like he checks if he brushed properly his teeth! But I like Kjetil's face, he seems to say: phu, that's your smell? lmao

How's your shoulder? How's Brandon? What did you find out about him?

    ReplyDelete
  2. @mel i love this pics! i really love them, but i prefer the first beard of him and not this one he had yet! i think there is something missing! and i think the first one better match to him then the second!
kjetil looks funny with this, i think another one would be better match to him!

  3. @dana haha we post at the same time! so we both are the first ones?

  4. @mel oh yes what about brandon, any news?
and your comments to the pics are great like ever!

  5. @Corinna I like the first beard too. This one doesn't really suit him.

@Dana Still hurts. He's good. He told me to have a nice night Saturday. :D I haven't found out anything because I haven't seen Karen all weekend.

  10. Good Morning Girls

    @Mel

Thanks for the pics & comments, great collection!!

Take care of your sholder as well as of Brandon, Mel!

How about asking him to take a coffee together. Yes I know, you are to shy. But listen to an old woman like me, with a certain life experience, it is with everything the first time.

Take every courage that you can find and go go go go!!!
Even to ask Brandon will make you feel like a winner!!!

With waiting and sitting around and asking Karen about him, in my opinion you do not win "a flower pot".

Be active, charming and have a big smile while aksing Brandon. You do not loose!!!

And if you fail, "attack" the next one!!! Asking for a coffee, if you work in the same house is not so much special, and this kind of proposal is absolut allowed in the 21th century.

    Be couragous, Mel!!!!!!
    ........ Good Luck!

  11. Sorry Mel, for beeing so direct!!!!

You are just at the beginning to find somebody nice by looking at him. But very often it needs a lot of time to getting to know somebody realy good.

Sometimes you get very much disappointed if you put somebody on a podium before you know him.

And beside of that, you are young Mel, you can choose out, you are a nice, hardworking woman with a lot of skills.

Have from time to time a date, so you are not more so nervous and get experienced with that.

It is very seldom that Love falls into our lifes "without helping a little bit" from our side!!

    Have a great day!!

Sorry I did not answer earlier to you.

Please (scroll down and try to chose the article dated 07.04.2010 "Swiss national hero seen in a new light".

The link looks a bit strange, but I hope very much for you it works!!!

Thanks for the update, Mel ! I love every nice comments !
btw, I think the seasonal topic is always innocent to be a motif for anyone to get acquinted with someone. So use it ! Mel !
For example, the next time you visit the pharmacy and talk to Brandon, you can say something related Christmas, just like , " I watched the very beautiful illumination in some some avenue. I didn't notice it last year. ", or even " I wish my shoulder will be better before Christmas comes. " The seasonal topic creates the relaxed atmosphere which makes it easier to start the regular and a little conversation. Try it, Mel !

  14. @Nicoletta.
Please don't worry, Nicoletta ! Everybody is busy, and we are busy, too ! ... ;-))) ...
I check this site very often and I'm * patient * to wait for your answer, so don't mind it !

Thanks for the link ! But my pc said it can accept the numbers of the letter and digit up to 32. So I'll open the site you showed me in the previous comment and try to scroll the one " swiss national hero seen in a light " later. I really thank you for this and I admire you, Nicoletta, I suppose it took hours to find the link especially the long one for me !

btw, how is your cough, Nicoleta ? In Japan, there is a funny habit that many people put the mask on the nose and the mouth from winter to early spring. I've never put it, because I don't like it. The most ot them are the white one which we see in the hospital or in the laboratory. But it looks so strange in the train or in the street. Actualy some of the masks are not the simple white, but the design of Kitty. And last evening, my friend and I found the very funny one that is the design of the wild tiger. If you put it ,the upper half of your face remains yours, but the lower half of your face is that of tiger. I almost could not resist the temptation to buy it.

It is around 17C in Tokyo today and it will be 13C tomorrow. But I still go out without the coat even in the evening and at night, because the wind is not cold which we feel winter.

Hope you enjoy the afternoon with much better health, Nicoletta !

  15. Hi girls!

How are you all? Do you feel better?

It's incredible what is happening here: It's a real summer storm, with thunder and the wind is blowing like hell!!!!! I just can't believe it! It's 23rd of November!!

  16. @dana.
It is terribly pity that Roxana Briban passed away, dana. I didn't know it was the second attempt. ... She was a very promising soprano and already gained the succefull career. I feel sorry especialy for her family.

Then, my cabbage. The brine is losing salty taste and becomes turbid day by day. And there are plenty of small white dots in the brine. The brine does not taste very very sour. I think it is doing well and fine. I think it appears the fermentation is going on.

btw, dana, this time I put the cabbage and the brine with the dried dill in the enamel pot. This enamel pot is the one I use for cooking stew. So I bought the new enamel stock container yesterday and it is used only for the pickled cabbage during winter. When I complete my first sarmale possibly this weekend, I start the next one. This time I placed a light and flat lid made from wood on the cabbage and put some weight on it to let the cabbage sink. I did it with much care not to hurt and crash the cabbage, but next time I think I have to find another way to let it sink. The home-made pickled cabbage sounds really nice and worthwhile. And it's just fun doing !!! But as I mentioned before it never happens without you, dana ! And Thank you very much again !

Have a nice evening, dana !

  17. Hi Ekaterina & Dana & Mel

Hope you are fine with your mild winters and summer storms. Ha, Ha.

We have to do with King Winter and it looks like snow is coming soon, around 1 degrees.

My cough is under control for the moment, I am lucky! Thank you, Ekaterina.

I had a lot to laugh because of the mask. No no, I would be the only one..... LOL!!

    @Ekaterina
I am sorry, I had a little doubt because of the very long link. Sorry, Ekaterina!

    Let's have an other trial:

    http://www.swissinfo.ch/eng/index.html

On the top, you can choose the language. Did I see right is there also a Japanese buttom??

    1) Can you see the SEARCH field? Please write Guisan into it and press enter

    2) Please fill in:

    - Subject: again Guisan

    - Period: ... 12 months

    - Types: all Media

    - Language English

    Press Again SEARCH

and than pls choose the article from 7.4.2010 Swiss national hero seen .....

Keep my fingers crossed for you!!!

    @Mel
Yes Ekaterina has the better plan, first of all you should start a very nice and looong conversation.

Perhaps you could ask him if he knows a suitable kind of sport that you can do despite of the sholder?

Let's hope Brandon gets a bit thirsty too!! .... hmmm, I mean for the coffee. Ha, Ha.

If not, you could ask for the coffee because you have some more questions about health.

Don't forget a lot of man are shy too.

    Have a beautiful day/afternoon/evening!!

    ReplyDelete
  18. @Ekaterina Yes it's very sad and incomprehensible what has happened to Roxana! I saw her husband and her father-in-law crying on tv and I felt so pity for them!

The brine has to be sour but not to turn almost in "vinegar" and pinch your tongue! And before to use the cabbage pass it through a water jet and drain it away.

We use big wooden lid or laths to keep the cabbage under the brine too! I like you have intuition!!! :-)))
And if you want to make another pickled cabbage for the winter (and I suppose you'll not use it very soon) you have to keep it in a colder place than your living room, to not let it to get mold! And for the same reason you can put in the brine mustard grains and pieces of Horseradish root. It's true, it will take longer to turn sour but I think there's no rush, right?
Good luck, my dear Ekaterina! I'm proud of you!

    ReplyDelete
  19. @Nicoletta I'm glad to hear your cough is under control! With red wine and chocolate? LOL

We don't have a King Winter, but a Lady Winter bc in Romanian winter is feminine noun! So what a nice couple: a King and a Lady! lol

@Mel Ekaterina and Nicoletta are right! You have to be bolder, there's nothing to be ashamed of! You're a smart girl with a good sense of humor and I'm sure you can find something nice but neutral for your first conversation over coffee! As the girls said, your shoulder condition, Christmas, sports are very good subjects to talk about!
    Good luck, hun!

  20. @Nicoletta.
Thank you very much ! Nicoletta !
Your instruction is so helpful and took me to the site quite easily !
yes, I think we need to think about the time he lived and think about the strategy he took during the WWII in this century of the 21st.I also think there are still more things we can learn from the period of WWII.

And according to the book I bought on Sunday, Guisan did not start his career in the army. He studied natural science and agriculture in Uni in Lausanne, then he continued his study in Germany where he learned German and about the German people which were going to be one of his smart weapon during the war.

It is very interesting to me to know about general Guisan, and I really thank you for introducing this great figure to me, Nicoletta !

And, it's good! that your cough is under control ! It's already in winter in Zurich. Soon dana & me catch up with you !

btw, Nicoletta, it is surprising coincidence.
The day my mom passed away is the same as general did. The 7th in April.

Hope you enjoy a nice evening, Nicoletta ! Hugs !

    ReplyDelete
  21. @dana.
Did they have children ? ... Roxana & her husband ...

Thank you so much again for the further details about my cabbage, dana ! OK, I pass it through a water jet and drain it away just before the start of the second stage. And also thanks a lot ! dana ! for the helpful instruction to my second pickled cabbage ! I see, the next one should be placed in the colder place, possibly in the entrance inside. I think it is the best place for it during winter. And I won't forget to put mustard grains and pieces of horseradish root in the brine with dried dill. Yes, I'll take time and let it ferment slowly.

btw, summer storm in Romania !? How long lady Winter will have to wait this year ? ...

Then, I love your comment in ALS !

Hope you enjoy the near-end summer with little guests of squirrels in your fir trees, dana !
I'm going to sleep now. Hugs !

    ReplyDelete
  22. @Ekaterina
No, they didn't! But her husband loved her so much and treated so nice, she was like a child to him, he did anything to make her happy! And she left him a note with "Forgive me! Yours Roxana!" He's devastated!

You're welcome, Ekaterina! You are a very good pupil! LOL You understood very well anything I told you.

Yes, this afternoon it was a storm here, a veritable summer storm! But I think Lady Winter is not far from us! There's snow on the Carpathian mountains.
I haven't seen the squirrels in my fir tree for a few days, I don't know where they live, but these days they didn't show up!
Btw, how's your little Ekaterina? Does she like the sour cabbage smell? Haha!

What comment? About the "hell of a coach"? lol Thank you, you're nice!

Have a restful night and sweet dreams, Ekaterina! Hugs and kisses!

  23. Hello to All! Happy Thanksgiving from me to you! I am very thankful for another year. I am roasting a 19 pound turkey on Thursday. Ekaterina, if you need turkey roasting instructions next, I can help you out. You are a very adventurous cook! :)

Did you guys see this on ALS twitter? It is interesting to hear them talking in the background. The yellow ski suit is ugly, but it looks like a different suit at the end of the video. Do you think Simen is filming?

  25. @Dana I wish you were my sister! Do you have a sister? I have two and I love them dearly, but can always use a spare. I'm good today. Yesterday I was blue and absolutely no reason for it, but today is a sunny day!

Re video: AM posted it? Did we discuss it already? Sorry I'm redundant again.

Re photos: Can they seriously not have a better way to protect their faces than tape? I think Kjetil looks like the Count of Monte Cristo!

    ReplyDelete
  26. @Giffy No, I don't have a sister, I have a brother 10 years older than me! And I'd like to have you as my sister! Thanks you wanna spare! lol
Sometimes I have bad moments too, I'm glad you are fine today!

Re video: we didn't discuss about it, but I saw it on ALS one or two days ago! And don't be sorry, you have no reason! lol

I understood the guys have some masks they can wear but maybe they like to feel the pain when they remove that tape from their faces! lmao

    ReplyDelete
  27. @Giffy don't you think Aksel looks like the Sheriff Sam Mcloud on the 70's! LOL

  29. good evening girls!

  30. @Corinna Hi girl!

But how are you, do you feel better?

So Lady Winter is on her way to me! LOL our weather forecast says it will be colder and colder here too! Even if today that storm reminded us of summer! LOL

    ReplyDelete
  31. @dana here the weatherforcast says it´s going to freeze tonight!

  33. @Corinna Glad you are a bit better!
I don't feel very bad but I cough a little too! Hope to not get worse! I heard on tv that if you get cold,or better to NOT get gold, it's very good to eat onion and garlic! LOL
I think the illness run away from you bc of the smell! Haha!

    ReplyDelete
  34. @dana i eat a lot of garlic! haha my whole family like garlics! but that is not good for my patients haha! bc of the smell!

but i know that this is good!

do you know when you put garlic into alcohol and let it inside for a while and with something special treatment, you can take it 3 times a day 15 drops you can fight with this against cholesterol?! my dad did this and it help really! his cholesterol restults are better till he take this drops!

    ReplyDelete
  35. @Corinna I know about that recipe with alcohol and garlic. And it's also good to rub your joints with it when you have rheumatism! My grandma did this! LOL The garlic juice is good to rub your scalp when you lose your hair! No kidding! It regenerates the hair root! But you have to rinse very well your hair!

    ReplyDelete
  36. Good evening Girls

Now I feel guilty. Did I infect you with my cough??

    ReplyDelete
  37. Garlic is not so much my thing! But I really would use it against a Vampire attack. LOL

    ReplyDelete
  38. Last Sunday I remembered me of the Lakritz pastilles with a little bit of codein. Some pharmacies produce them by themselves.

I had to do something because I had this horrible attacks. The pharmacist said I should not take to much because it is better to cough. So I take just one if its really necessairy. 3-4 during one day/night.

    ReplyDelete
  39. @nicoletta no you didn´t infect me! it was at my thing a patient of me, she came with real bad flue to the massage!

    how are you today?

@dana really this i didn´t know about garlic!

    ReplyDelete
  40. @Corinna
I feel much better at the moment. Cough under control. LOL

    @Dana
I did not say that I feel very much sorry because of the Romanian singer Roxanna. Also much to early. Did she suffer under depressions?

    ReplyDelete
  41. @nicoletta i found this one! http://www.sweets-online.com/images/produkte/3032.jpg

this ones work out for me real good, bc of the japanese menthol inside!

    ReplyDelete
  42. @Corinna
That is a pitty with your patient. Maybe you should wear a mask in such cases!!

My dental hygeniest does do that.

I had also an appointment? with her, but I had to cancel it.

    ReplyDelete
  43. @Dana, Ekaterina & Nicoletta I can't ask him for coffee because I don't like coffee. I know he does. I have to ask Karen if he has a girlfiend. If he does I'm not even gonna try because I have a bad track record with guys that have a girlfriend. They tend to marry another girl. Though he does look at me the same way that I looked at Brian & Jake. So I'm pretty sure he likes me. I know some guys are shy too. My older brother is really shy & backwards. I guess I'll just have to make the first move. I'm sure I'll come up with something.

    ReplyDelete
  44. @Yes, Haribo macht Kinder froh that means "Haribo makes children happy!!" Ha, Ha.

    Menthol is quite good.

@Dana where are you??? Didn't want to disturb.....

    ReplyDelete
  45. Hi Mel

Very good start Mel!! Your thought are going into the right direction.

LOL about the coffee. I am sure you will handle that.

If he has already a girlfriend it is of course a waist of time.

    ReplyDelete
  46. @Mel Than ask him for a juice, a cake or you can just talk to him when you go to the pharmacy and maybe he will invite you for a walk or to go out somewhere else!
Take care with Karen, you already had a bad experience with the other girl, I don't remember her name, with Jake! Don't tell her too much! try to ask her in a discreet way!

    ReplyDelete
  47. @nicoletta as i know dana is off for a shower!

oh yes "haribo macht kinder froh und erwachsene ebenso" haha

@mel so find this out girl! so you can say what about a coffee, but you are able to drink then a tea or something else! i cross my fingers for you!

    ReplyDelete
  48. @dana i thought you were off for a shower??? ;)

    i love this commercial

    ReplyDelete
  50. 2Nicoletta I'm here! And you didn't disturb me at all, just internet works a bit slow! LOL

About Roxana, yes, she was very depressed lately bc it seems she had some problems with her voice! She was afraid she will not be as good as before!

    ReplyDelete
  51. @corinna When I'm here with you I hardly decide to go to shower or to sleep! Haha! I like to be with you!

    ReplyDelete
  52. @Mel
    @Dana

    Exactly my thinking about Karen.
Never involve another girl for such things.

For being honest, you do not give away something if you ask Brandon for the drink, also if you do not know if he has one.

Wait for his reaction. If he comes with you, you have all the time of the world to ask him yourselfs.

That does not mean that you should think to replace her. You could simply finish the date a bit earlier and be in any case be proud for your courage.

And furthermore, ask a lot about health and how long he is already working as pharmacist. And maybe his hobbies and sports, etc.

    ReplyDelete
  53. When I said "you" I meant "you all" I always forget and translate from Romanian, we have "tu" for "you"-singular, and "voi" for "you" -plural! LOL

    ReplyDelete
  54. @dana oh you are so nice! haha so you want to stay more here then to go to shower! just bc to talk to us!

but i´m hardly have to say now! i´m off for today!i have to go to sleep! i´m so sorry right now! but i had written you a e-mail!

i hope to see you tomorrow again!

*hugs and kisses* have all a great evening/nightand some real nice dreams!

    ReplyDelete
  55. @Corinna

Get well very soon & Sweet dreams!!

    ReplyDelete
  56. @Dana

I thought you ment U2 or U3. LOL

Do you know U2, the music?

    ReplyDelete
  57. @nicoletta i´m sorry i´m forget to ask if you have in switzerland this?

    ReplyDelete
  58. @Nicoletta Oh, baby! I'm a great admirer not only of U2 music but also of Larry Mullen! Haha!

    ReplyDelete
  59. @Corinna Thank you, good night sweetie! Sleep well! Hugs!

    ReplyDelete
  60. @Mel

You know Mel a lot of men make very nice eyes to women. That can mean something, or also not very much.

Some men are very charming in general.

Your first target is to bring Brandon to go with you to have a drink. It is ok that you think he is a nice guy.

Afterwards you have enough time to make a picture of his peronality by yourself.

If you think that way, you will be able to ASK him for the drink without thinking to much in advance. You understand what I mean?

    ReplyDelete
  61. @Corinna

    Thank you for the link.

I will ask for it, because I prefer pastilles to drops. It is better, because you can take them when you need them.

But first I finish the one I have.

    Good night Corinna!

    ReplyDelete
  62. @Dana

Sorry Dana, I was teasing you a bit because of the exlanation of "the you". But U2 is quite ok and they have a lot of success.

    ReplyDelete
  63. @Nicoletta LOL Do I look like I have no sense of humor? Haha! Of course I understand you tease me!
About what you told Mel, I agree with you! My life experience is almost as big as yours, I'm just 3 years younger than you!
Now I hope you don't pretend me to tell you "madam"! Kidding! Hahaha!

    ReplyDelete
  64. @Dana

Did not want to show off with my age. LOL

To have a certain life experience is not only depending of the age!!

    ReplyDelete
  65. Regarding the "Madam", I prefer to say the first name if it is possible. That is much nicer.

    ReplyDelete
  66. @Dana

Today was my first experience with "direct talking" with you. It is very funny!!

But now it time to go to bed!!

    Good night Dana, sweet dreams!

    @Mel
Hope you are not upset about me.

    ReplyDelete
  67. @Nicoletta I know, but surely you think different at 30, 40 etc than at 18! And see the things in a different way.

It's almost midnight here, so I have to go to bed! Sorry I can't stay longer! Hope to see you tomorrow! Good night Nicoletta! Hugs!

It was a beautiful evening for me, thank you all!

    ReplyDelete
  68. @Nicoletta God, it takes me so long to post a comment here, you already posted three times! LOL

Yes, it's nice and funny! I like to talk to you too!
    Rest well! Bye!

    ReplyDelete
  69. @Dana

    Good night Dana, sleep well!!

About the age 20, 30, 40 quite different, you are right.

    ReplyDelete
  70. @Nicoletta & Dana Why would I be upset? I love the advice you girls are giving me. I don't think I have to worry much about Karen she's old enough to be my mom & is very sweet. Not like Amanda who is a backstabbing jerk wad, but it's best to keep your friends close & your enemies closer. I'm pretty sure I can turn my inquiry into a joke after she told Jess & I what the pharmacists make per hour. Though I'm not interested in the size of his wallet. ;-) He looks at me like a love sick puppy dog & I've always wanted a guy to look at me like that. Like I'm the only thing that matters in the whole world. Then again maybe it's the vicoden messing with my mind again. Hopefully he's there tomorrow & I can ask him what I can take for my cold because my friend Shannon had her baby & I can't wait to see the cutest little boy I have seen in 3 years.

    It's great & nice ! Giffy ! Roasting 19 pound of turkey !
In Japan, we buy it in the special food store which deals with the foreign foods, although they don't have the whole pickled cabbage. ...:-)))
Yes, next time I may ask you the recipe, but now I think I'd better ask you about the cranberry sauce. I don't know why, but they don't sell the fresh cranberry and the only canned is available.

btw, according to the twitter ALS, the temperature in Lake Louise is -35C (about -30F ? ... ). We know he has the strong muscle, and we also know now he has the tough skin. How can he train it ? ...;-))) !

Have a nice time on the Thanksgiving Day, Giffy ! I'm sure all the people at the dinner table will be happy with your roast turkey !

Some of the successful opera singers are far from being delicate, but Roxana had been sometimes too delicate which had been proved by her holy transparent beautiful soprano voice.

Your comment in ALS, " some of them are not very disciplined "... continues. I love your humor, dana !

My cabbage is doing well. But this morning I found small dot adhered on the wooden lid, and its color is not the milky white, but green which looks like a mold. Had I better remove it ?

Have a nice day of the entrance to the beautiful autumn ( or lady winter ? ... ), dana !

  74. @Ekaterina
Usual the mold appear when the cabbage is sour enough, when is ready, but also can be bc of the wooden lid. Though I think the cabbage may be ready for the second stage! I think it's been long enough since you put it in the brine.
You' know, it's difficult for me to say if is ready or not bc I can't see it or smell it and more than that, bc I've never made a single pickled cabbage! :-)))) But I think you're doing well!
I told you, it hasn't be very, very sour, sorry I can't explain, we have a word for this but in the dictionary and on the google they translate it like "to turn sour", but is something more like "to turn in vinegar"!

If you need me, I'm here!

Have a nice afternoon, Ekaterina! Hope to see you later! Have to go to work now, bye!

  76. Hello Girls

    @Ekaterina
Im am so happy that finally you could read the text!!
Yes, General Guisan was a well educated man and from a very good family. I presume he studied agriculture because where he lives there is a beautiful wine region. I could imagine his family possess a great area there.

You know, all this wonderful small villages around the lake of Geneva (Pully, Prilly, etc. with the vineyards. You can walk along them and enjoy the beautiful view. A lot of celebrieties life there. Prices for houses are very high.

I lived for one year in Lausanne and worked for an assurance. Our offices were in a beautiful Residence House because in the Main Offices were not enough rooms. And by the way, the white vine from the frenchspeaking part is great!

Today we have the first snowflokes, very big, big ones!!! Looks very nice!

Have a nice evening, Ekaterina and enjoy the book if you have time.

  77. @Mel
Happy that you like to hear our advices.
Now I am curious what you find out about Brandon with the beautiful eyes.
Hope for you can organize very soon a "date". Because after a too long period of only looking, it gets boring, and afterwards it can be even a bit peinly.

So no excuse, Mel, go go go.
You can ask Karen also after the date, if you really need more infos.

    Have a beautiful day!!

  78. @Dana
Hello my dear! yes I had also the impression, yesterday my computer was very quick.
I've got the idea, i have a little monolog. And after I learnt, that you have already midnight, I understood that everybody needs to sleep. Sorry for that.

I think all the time, time passes so quick if we are "working" in the internet. Sometimes I cannot believe it. Ha, Ha.

Today I am going to make a Ratatouille. You know, the one with zuchetti, paprika and tomatoes. We love to eat it, and my partner brings all the time a lot of vegetable at home, that I can produce another one.

I need a lot of paprika powder, prefer Italian pelatti (from the tins, LOL) because they are much more ripe and tasty and I give some Herbes de Provence to it.

    Do you like Ratatouille too?

    Have a lovely day, Dana!
See you perhaps in the evening.

  79. @dana.
    Thanks again, dana !
yes, I started it about 3 weeks ago, so it will be just 3 weeks on coming Sunday.
I think I understand the nuance of turning in vinegar. The taste and smell of the brine is not pungent and I think the best timing is shortly before it becomes pungent.

At first, our living room was to be warmer for the smooth fermentation. But the temperature has not been low and we didn't need to set the airconditioner high, and as a result, the room temperature has been just moderate and not so high as I expected.
Then, my cabbage might feel " lonely ", because I put the only one in the brine. ...;-))) The new storage container is bigger than the pot I'm using now. I bought this new one thinking about making 2 pickled cabbages in one time. It seems the cabbage needs a rival to ferment. ... Isn't it the sensational scientific report ? dana ? ;-))) !

My baby sister is well and fine. Thanks ! dana ! She always looks she likes to join me cooking in the kitchen, and I talk to her softly she is still too little to help me and she will be able to help me in the kitchen when she grows up. But when I thought I had better ask her help one day some months ago, I found her sleeping. ... Very normal relationship between a younger sister & elder sister, I think. ...

Have a pleasant evening, dana ! Hugs !

  80. @AM Thanks for the LL news/photo. Either A & K beards are very blonde and don't show up in the sun or they have pulled out their whiskers when they pulled off the tape. Their Movembers are gone...

@Dana Who is Sherriff McCloud? What tv show was that from? I used to love Magnum PI. I think he was my first crush. I've had many since then...

@Ekaterina Thanks for wishing me a Happy Thanksgiving. Today I have to bake the pecan and pumpkin pies. Cranberry is tart, and loaded with vitamin C, so you just need lots of sugar to sweeten it when you cook. I usually cook with orange juice instead of water, and sprinkle a little cinnamon also. It tastes similar to lingonberry to me... We're turning into a cooking blog. Isn't that fun! :)

@Nicoletta I love ratatouille. It's so healthy and good for you. Have you ever watched the Disney movie Ratatouille. It was on last night!

@Corinna Hope you got your voice back. Hope you feel back to normal so you can go out dancing on the weekend!

@Mel Just a thought: I know it's absolutely none of my business but, you don't have to drink coffee to go out for coffee. Starbucks or any coffee shop sells hot chocolate, which I know you like, or tea. Besides they usually have free WIFI so you could laptop together...LOL! Good Luck! You go get 'em.

P.S. Loved the Canadian girls animated video.

  81. @Nicoletta Hello!
I don't understand why are you sorry? Because I stayed awake till the midnight? LOL It was not your fault, I wanted and I liked to talk to you and as you said, the time passes so quick when we all are here, together!
I know what Ratatouille is, but I don't cook it very often, I rather cook vegetable stew like this, but I like to cut the vegetables in big pieces, looks better and they don't crush during boiling. this is the link of the stew:
    http://www.epicurious.com/recipes/member/views/GHIVECI-DE-LEGUME-LA-CUPTOR-OVEN-BAKED-VEGETABLE-STEW-50101451

Have a nice afternoon, Nicoletta! Hugs!

    @Ekaterina
Hi, Ekaterina! I think Saturday or Sunday you can get the second stage. I'm glad you understood what I meant about to turn sour and to turn vinegar. If you think is too sour you may rinse the cabbage a little more!

Haha! I like your scientific report! LOL I guess you're right, if there are two cabbages in a container they make the brine more turbid and their fight activates the fermentation process!
I bet your little Ekaterina "loves" to stay beside you in the kitchen when you cut the onion! LOL I think she fell asleep bc she got bored! Maybe she prefers to eat at the restaurant! Haha!
Anyway, the most important thing is that you love each other, right?

Wish you a peaceful evening, Ekaterina! Kisses!

  82. @Nicoletta.
The first snowflakes in Zurich ! The snowflake is really lovely. It looks like a white flower petal is falling while dancing. In Tokyo we have only a few times of the snowflakes during winter.

Switzerland is unique country with unique history background. I think one of the reason for her uniqueness is languages. The German-speaking part, the French-speanking part. and also Italian-speaking part ? General Guisan is from the French-speaking part and studied in Germany, and leaned German. These experience helped him make the best strategy aginst NSDAP and I also think it was useful to attract the heart of every Swiss ( the whole nation )during war.
It is a very good opportunity for me to learn about Switzerland, and thank you, Nicoletta, for showing some good hints !

btw, Nicoletta, the link on WC at Lake Louise is the same as the previous one ? The races are set at midnight Tokyo time, so I'd like to check the result when I wake up.

Then, I like Ratatouille, but I'm not good at cooking it. So I'd be happy to ask you about it when I try to make it !

Enjoy the nice view from the window in the room where is warm enough, Nicoletta !

Ratatouille, I have my very private version, and if you are interested, I love to tell you how I do it.

You are right, General Guisan was a very charming person too, and he spoke a very good German with this little french accent, that is always very lovely.

Did you notice the occasion on the Rütli where he had the famous speech to the entire Swiss Officer Corps. The same place where "Switzerland" or better said the Eidgenossenschaft begans in the year 1291.

Here some interesting link, maybe you know them already?

Giffy, you prefer instead of a Rendez-Vous (DATE) to start first with some Internet chat???

Could also be a variation, why not!! Everything is possible!! LOL.

@Mel you are a young woman. Maybe this way is more on your line!! ??

But eye contact, especially with Brandon's wonderful eyes, is something that you should not miss, Mel. Ha, Ha.

  94. Hi Girls

    Here "My private Ratatouille":

    a) 1/3 Zuchetti (or zucchini)
    b) 1/3 red and yellow pepers
    (mixed)
    making medium pieces

2 tins Italian Pelatti (tomatoes)if you have very ripe and tasty fresh tomatoes

    if you like:
    - garlic
    - ognions
eventually 1 or 2 carottes (very, very small pieces)
    - other ideas, that means other vegetable if you like??

    - MILD paprika powder (like for Hungarian Gulash)
Take a BIG portion, at least 2-3 soup spoons!

    - Salt
    - Peper

    - Herbes de Provence
    Mix(Rosmarin, Thymian, etc.)
    ca. 1 soup spoon

Mix everything, give a bit water, not to much, because vegetable, especially zuchetti give water, (but enough water, that everthing can swimm a bit, LOL!)

Let the whole ratatouille cook during 10-15 minutes. The sauce should not have to much liquid but still enough, but not a soup.

Coulour of the sauce should really be RED.

Taste a spoon of the sauce, if you like, you can adjust it by giving
    - more parika powder
    - evt. more salt
    - event. more Herbes de
    Provence
    - little bit pepper

If vegetable looks ready, try out if you like it, or let it cook another 5-10 minutes.

If you like, give at the end ca. 1/3 glass of red wine to it.Let it cook very quickly for max. 1 minute.

    The ratatouille is nice to:

    - Roasted meat, steaks, etc.

    combined with
    - Backed potatoes
    - rice

If you like you can use it as a spaghetti sauce.

If you prefer you can just make a quick spaghetti sauce:

    2 tins Italian Pelatti
    (plus the same spices)

My main target was to avoid any sugar.
In the Ketchup is usually 50 % sugar, and the same is with spaghetti sauce sold in the glass.

You know, I am a very, very, hobby cook, but I love to eat!! LOL

Have a good time, my partner arrives in 5 minutes.

    See you next time!!
    Stay healthy and have FUN!!

If you have a question about the ratatouille, ask me anytime.
