  17. @Teekanne Wow...all I can say is "Wow!"

...now you've got me wanting to watch FIFA World Cup!!! ;D

    ReplyDelete
  18. perfect. we can meet somewhere and watch... yippieee!

i don´t want to destroy your illousions but pls avoid the interviews after the games!!! ;-)

    ReplyDelete
  19. Teekanne, you're amazing! But these 20 reasons didn't convince me to meet a soccer player! In my country most of them are on the front pages of tabloids shown us all kind of stupid things: lovergirls, cars, partys, scandals etc.
I noticed the skiers are a different kind of sportsmen and I don't say this because of Aksel! They are more serious about their job and friends each other.

P.S. A soccer player knows what kama sutra is or he thinks is a kind of indian food? Ouch! I was really mean, wasn't I?

    ReplyDelete
  20. let *e guess... you´re fro* the UK! ;-)

P.S: That *as *hat i *eant to say *lol*

i´* off.. dancing for *ith the easter bunny!

  21. I have a friend who was married to a pro soccer player. I am pretty sure she would disagree with most of that list, lol. But then, maybe she's a little jaded!

As for skiers, my husband skied until he sustained a knee injury that put a quick stop to that activity. So, though he was a recreational skier rather than a racer, I can say, um, they're worth getting to know. ;-)

    ReplyDelete
  22. @kim: she would disagree with most of the list... i knew that. soccer players are just poser. think i try it with a newspaper advertisement to find a skier! ;-)

bad that i live in germany where most of the boys/man/whatever play soccer... ;-) and i teach kids in it. what´s wrong with that? (just hope that the futur women will thank me! *lol*

hope you have a great sunday! :) i need some sleep first!

  25. @dana, teekaane I agree with you both

I can;t believe it - soccer being promoted on this site!!

I am surrounded by premiership footpall clubs and have to endure all the sports news focusing on their antics on and off the field all year round.

I have to read foreign papers or websites to follow skiing and other winter sports. Lets keep this site soccer free!!

    ReplyDelete
  26. @marie Oh, pretty please, marie! This is the only place where I can really talk about it! My friends don't have the same fascination with FIFA! ...how about if soccer is only mentioned during FIFA, and even then, only when England or South Africa are playing??? haha ;D

    ReplyDelete
  27. I guess I should make a blog post for soccer & only soccer now...

    ReplyDelete
  28. @Nicole, Mel

    Concession on soccer.

The soccer/football can be discussed - I like to watch a 'good entertaining. match. What I dislike is the Premiership and all it stands for - it is overhyped, and the players over payed and oversexed!

So soccer/football OK to discuss but the premiership and the likes of Manchester United and Chelsea must not be mentioned. Deal?

    ReplyDelete
  29. @marie *gasp on Manchester United...but okay! *holds right hand in air and takes oath Deal!

    ReplyDelete
  30. @nicole. Shake hands on deal - So your reds fan.

Did you say which country you are from?

So who will you be supporting in the world cup?

@Mel - its OK, we have called a truce!

    ReplyDelete
  31. @marie I live in the US! But England, man! I'm supporting England (I predict they'll win Team C...better kick US's butt!), Italy, Brazil, and Argentina!

France used to be on my list, before Zidane left...and the incident with Ireland!

    ReplyDelete
  32. @Mel A soccer blog might be necessary around FIFA time...I won't be able to shut up then!!! lol ;D But we're good for now! I'll be good, marie!

    ReplyDelete
  33. @nicole

Interesting you mention 'the incident with ireland. You must have seen the Gillette adverts with Henri, Tiger woods and Rodger federer.

Now considering Henri is not popular in UK and Ireland because of 'the incident', and Tigers 'downfall',the papers say perhaps Gillette need a new sportsman for thier advert. Do you think Aksel would fit he bill? Could he be trusted to be cleanshaven each day?

    ReplyDelete
  34. @marie *clears throat and takes deep breath I prefer not to mention those athletes, specifically the golfer. They're getting too much news hype for what's happened/for what they've done...and that's exactly what they want...attention.

I think Aksel could fit that bill!

Also, I found this video...sorry, marie it's soccer! But all I can say (in a sing-song voice) That's what you get for showing off!

I just wish that Ireland could've gotten another chance! I think they deserve to go to FIFA...France took that from them!

  36. @Nicole

Would you believe Man Utd and Beckham are being discussed on 'the other blog' !!! Now do you see what I mean, they get everywhere.

@Mel - Totally agree with your comment on the other blog - very boring. But how have I ended up talking to someone from US on soccer on this site?

    ReplyDelete
  37. @ Marie it is boring over there now. Everything is so very serious. Everyone is talking about Aksel & his skiis, but there are no jokes no going off topic or craziness. I do believe A. started the whole Beckham convo when she compared Aksel & his skiis to Beckham & ManU.

Personally I don't do soccer. Never got into it...mostly because I can't kick a moving ball. Then again I can't kick one that is still. Now if you wanna talk about football or baseball or maybe even basketball I'm there.

That's all I have to say about this subject.

Mel, I'm not into soccer, baseball, basketball, or even football (much to my husband's dismay) but I'll talk hockey all day long! Any other hockey fans?

    ReplyDelete
  39. @Kim in WA I got into hockey during the Olympics...and I went to my first game a couple of weeks ago...I've been converted into a fan! ;D

    ReplyDelete
  40. I haven't been keeping up with sports, lately! The olympics got me back into it! I love any sports though...I get really into them!!! Except for football (american, that is)...I just don't understand it! ;D

    ReplyDelete
  41. Yay Nicole! Glad you enjoy hockey. It's an awesome sport... and the guys can be hot, even with helmet head and missing teeth, lol! I can't get into football and baseball as they are too slow. I get bored with them.

    ReplyDelete
  42. ahh i missed all the soccer, zidane, manU and chelsea stuff..

    Just wanted to mention:

    ROOOOOOBBBBBEEEEENNN kicked Rooneys ASS!!!! YESSA!!!!!

    ReplyDelete
  43. umm...*clears throat* I'm going to add this over here, so I don't get killed...I just bought an England jersey!!! Yay! ;D ...okay, done talking about soccer ;P
