  2. We had the first ice early in the morning in center of Tokyo today ! It's about 3 weeks later than usual. It's been just sunny every day here, but the wind is so cold. That's the typical winter in Tokyo.
snow ? not yet... Generally speaking, it snows a lot on the side of the Sea of Japan, but it doesn't snow a lot on the side the pacific Ocean.

Hope you all enjoy your own winter, ladies !

  3. Dear Ekaterina

My winter is on holidays at the moment! Weather gets warmer and warmer, it has started yesterday in the early morning, with relatively high temperatures around 5-6 degrees and with heavy and "warm" rain.

So because streets are still very cold, we got immediately dangererous icy streets and a lot of crashes on the roads. Many people got injured also by walking on the pavements.

I can again see a big chain of snow mountains on the horizon over Zurich, that means the warm wind called "Föhn" is working. For tomorrow it will be around 10 degrees, I wonder how they can manage it in Adelboden to have good slopes. I would say, that will be difficult!

    ReplyDelete
  4. Yesterday, I saw some extent of the Slalom race in Zagreb. Also there, the slope was more creamy than icy.
It was the day of the Swedish cracks, her I like to post the rankings:

    http://live.fisski.com/live391.htm

Kjetil, Lars and Leif were all very close around the 20th place. For Leif with a start number 54, not sure, but over 50 a wonderful great achievment!!

Our Zurbriggen had realy bad luck, with a big mistake he landed on the 30th.

So, all in all, Aksel's standing is still a very good one, and if he is in such a powerful, good mood like in Munich he will be great in Adelboden.

  5. Here some (stupid or if you like useful) hints for the the FIS Live thing.

If you open, you see the red LIVE letters. In the same line you find START LIST, RANKINGS and STANDING.

Rankings means results after the race is finished. Also if you follow the race directly, you can quickly change to the startlist by choosing startlist. Everything clear?? Ha, Ha.

    Have a beautiful day!

    Hi ! Nicolettchen !
I know " Fohn ", and it seldom happens in winter in Tokyo.
It seems it is a bit warm in Zurich than in Tokyo these days. It nearly doesn't rain here in winter and the next rain means the preparation of the start for spring.
The first ice early in the morning today was found in the pond in the park. I knew it from the TV news at noon. So the roads and the pavements are all safe. But once it snows some 5 cm, it'll be dangerous next morning, bc the water in the snow is frozen during night at around zero C temperature, and as the result, the ambulance cars are busy taking many people who slipped and falled to the hospital. Meanwhile the road accidents happen within 3 hours after it snows, bc the all cars are not equipped with " snow tire " in Tokyo, and they skid, skid, and crash. As for rain, I think it actually sometimes rains in Tokyo, but the air ias very dry in winter, so water disappears before it is frozen.

btw, Nicoletta, thanks for the link in ALS ! It's nice, and I also think I agree with Olivia !

Hope you enjoy a pleasant evening, my dear Nicoletta ! Good night. Hugs !

  7. Hi girls!
I have fever too, I don't know if I've got it from Aksel!!! LMAO

    Hope everyone is OK!

  8. Today was a good day. A little girl about 4 gave me a hug today right before I went to my first break. Then another little girl about 7 told me I was pretty while I was on my break. It made me feel better after everything that has been going on. :-)

    @Nicoletta.
pleased with Dani, He could run the second run, too ! Nicolettchen !

  12. @Nicoletta, @dana, @corinna, @AM, and
@ladies who watched the race on TV.

From my impression, the snow condition on the 2nd run seems much different from the 1st one, bc the temperature was high. Did TV commentator speak anything about that ?
Aksel's 1st run was already great, but his 2nd run was also great. I feel he changed the set up on the 2nd run, or he knew how to deal with it. Aksel knows what the race is.

Also Cyprien Richard's 2nd run was really magnificent !
GS is fun, I think , from the point of view it has the 2 runs.

Will Aksel race slalom tomorrow ? or will he concentrate on DH in Wengen ?

Hope you all have a nice weekend !
    Good night. Hugs !

  13. BRAVO, AKSEL!!! Great race!

    @Ekaterina
Thank you, my dear Ekaterina! But I'm not well! I have no fever for the moment but I'm in bad condition! I'm not in the mood for anything, I just wanna lie in my bed!
The only thing it makes me happy is that Aksel won. It was so exciting to watch the race! His smile at the finish "gave me wings"! Haha!

Hope you and your little Ekaterina are fine! I was very scared these last two days bc my Mishu jumped over the gate and gone for "girls" on the neighborhood. We didn't know anything about him for two days and three nights and I thought we lost him! But this morning, while I was at work, he has showed up! He looks terrible, he was very hungry, but he's safe! LOL I didn't know LOVE can make you look so bad! Haha! Zorro was so happy to see Mishu again!

Wish you a beautiful weekend, dear Ekaterina! Hugs!

  14. @Ekaterina
I didn't watch the first run but our commentators said that the snow condition in the second run was different bc of the temperature was high!

You're right, C Richard was good too! Did you see his face when Aksel has arrived at the finish? He was a bit disappointed! :-))

    ReplyDelete
  15. @All the girls

Today I sticked for hours in front of the TV and I enjoyed all the great races.

Congrats to Aksel!! I am so happy for him. Aksel was just wonderful, concentrated, powerful, amazing .....!!
This evening I saw my first presentation ceremony on TV. That was pretty cool too. Aksel looked stunning and was very happy. The atmosphere during the whole day at Chuenisbärgli/Adelboden seemed to be an extraordinary one.

The race was crazy exiting. And 10-15 great cracks from everywhere were giving them a sensational fight.

Have a wonderful day/evening/night and see you tomorrow!

  16. Hello Ladies!

Hope you're having an awesome weekend!

btw, Aksel's bruise looks incredibly painful! Poor guy!

I've been worried about you since I read your comment during your BD party here and ALS that you had a cold. The X'mas and the year-end & new-year season are very fun, but so many things to do, so people often catch a cold after those busy period. Please take good care of yourself, my dear dana !

btw, I'm so glad to know that Mishu came back home after a few days of " Romance ". I suppose you and Zorro have waited for his return crossing fingers. bc Mishu is your family as Zorro is.

I'm going to matinee this afternoon and be back for the slalom. Tomorrow is our national holiday, so I'm off. The new-year-lunch with my friends start at 11:00, and the opera " Tristan & Isolde " starts at 14:00. I have the ticket for 2 performances, and I've watched one already late last month. then, the new-year-dinner with another friends start at 20:00, and possibly be back home around 23:00 tomorrow. I'm happy there is no Aksel's race tomorrow. ...:-))) !!!

My dear dana, please take a good rest, just relax. Doing nothing is often productive when you feel sick, dana.

Thank you for your concern, my dear Ekaterina!
I try to be a good girls and to take care of myself!:))

Unfortunately Mishu ran away last night again and he has been injured very bad! I don't know if he was hit by a car or if some other dogs from that "wedding" has bitten him so badly, but a few hours ago a neighbor of mine called me to tell that is a black dog in a very bad condition in the middle of the street. I found him struggling to stand on his feet but he couldn't do it! He had blood at his nose and foam at his mouth so I thought he was poisoned. We don't have a vet emergency room in Campina so I tried my best to make him feel better. At least he's alive and he can stand on his feet for a few moments though he's lying down almost all the time. I keep him in the hall bc I wanted to put him in the dog-kennel but beside that it's cold, Zorro doesn't leave him alone and he needs to not be bothered. I'm glad he's alive!

What nice way to spend these days! A matinee, slalom, tomorrow a lunch with your friends and then "Tristan and Isolde"! I can say I envy you, but in a positive way, of course!

Enjoy all these beautiful things, my dear Ekaterina! Hugs!

  19. @dana.
If he is poisoned, the poison have to be counteracted. Is he able to drink something ? The yogurt is effective, dana, if he is able to take it. And stay by his side and keep him warm. Taking some yogurt, he might vomit, but that's OK, bc the poison must go out.

    ReplyDelete
  20. @dana.
I posted my last text without any greetings, bc I wanted to post it as soon as possible, my dear dana. I remember reading your text saying there is a person who poisons dogs. I'm not sure if Mishu met the poisoned accident or not, but I do worry about him. dana, dogs and cats can take the same medicine as we take, but only fewer, bc the medicine is used according to kg of the body, and they are much lighter than us.

    ReplyDelete
  21. @Ekaterina
Thanks so much for the tip!
But I'm glad he ate very little and drank a lot of water! He's sleeping now but he can't get up! I touch him to see if he has something broken but he doesn't say anything so it seems nothing hurts! I don't know what's wrong with him and why he can't stand on his feet, he's just lying but he can roll over under the blanket! I let him to sleep as much as he needs, you know sleep helps the recovery!

Thank you so much! I knew the milk is good when an animal is poisoned, but some doctors say the is wrong to give them milk for this bc the milk helps the poison to be absorbed by the stomach and this way you may rush the passing of poison in blood. It seems he's not poisoned, bc he ate!

    ReplyDelete
  22. @dana.
I checked the site of dog's poisoning. Yogurt is OK, but dogs are not used to eat it. If possible, try to let Mishu drink water, if possible a lot of water. To make him drink water, put some salt on his tongue so that he takes it easily, then he becomes thirsty soon, the he can drink water. He might vomit, and it means the poison goes out.
And my dear dana, don't be panic yourself, bc Mishu does not understand what happens on him. So if you become panic, he thinks it is so serious and he becomes panic.
The site says: make a dog relaxed, not too cold and not too hot place. comfortable place for the dog. some fresh air is also good. and make him drink water.

    ReplyDelete
  23. @Ekaterina
I wanted to give him something for pain when I took him home but I didn't know what doze of medicine to give him for his weight, he's tiny!
He's like an ill kid, I'm so sorry to see him suffering!

Have a pleasant evening my dear Ekaterina! Kisses and hugs!

    ReplyDelete
  24. @Ekaterina
He drank a lot of water and that he ate made me think he's not poisoned. And in the place I keep him it's not very hot but warmer than outdoor. He seems to likes to be where he is, though he's not used to stay indoor! :)
I didn't panic, I talk to him and I stroke him to make him feel comfortable. I told you he's like a kid!

    ReplyDelete
  25. @dana.
I'm so relieved now, my dear dana ! To tell you a truth, I was almost in a panic. ....
Mishu ate, it is so good, and drank water, it is perfect. and I guess he was hitted by a car and hurt some part of his body, but not seriously. The vet will find it on Monday when you take Mushu to him.

I say again, I'm very happy that Mishu is OK, my dear dana ! Hugs !

    ReplyDelete
  26. @Ekaterina
Thank you so much, my dear! Yes, there are signs that Mishu may recover! I think he needs time. I'm taking a good care of him, be sure of this!
I was in panic when I found him struggling in the middle of the street! He was moving his legs like he was running but he was lying down on his right side, so his legs were in the air!!! He looks terrible, I thought he will die! I even don't want to remember!
    Thank God he's alive!

    ReplyDelete
  27. @dana.
Sure ! Mishu is ALIVE !
yes, I think he needs some rest, bc he was in a panic before we were, and he experienced something very terrible. But I believe he has started to recover since he was found by you, dana. and he thought he was OK, bc you were with him. He loves your eys, voice, and touch.
How is Zorro doing ? I think he understands what happen.
I absolutely think Mishu is OK now and enjoys a pleasant sleep indoor. yes, he may need some medicine for pain, but as you see, the dose is difficult to be decided by us.

Now I'm going to take a bath. I hope you have some rest with some tea by his side, my dear dana !

    ReplyDelete
  28. @Ekaterina
I fed him again! And he also drank water!!! But I found him shaking under the blanket though is pretty warm there! So I put beside him on the blanket two bottles with hot water and he seems to feel good now!

I don't think something hurts him, I pressed his every bone and he didn't yelp or whine. But I don't get why he can't stand up!

Thanks for you support! Enjoy your warm bath and have a good rest, my dear Ekaterina!

    ReplyDelete
  29. @dana.
Eating & drinking is the good sign of recovery.
I think dogs and cats are more patient than us, so they wouldn't show they feel pain easily. and if he yelps or whines when you press some part of his body, it means he hurt some part seriously. So I don't think he hurt seriously, but he might hurt slightly. bc I think he has a bit fever and he was shaking.
Keep him warm as he likes, dana. and let him drink water and eat some food he usually eats. and let him sleep.

I don't think he broke the bone. But I think he has a bruise. Bruise is painful when you move. So the vet will give him a medicine of killing pain. Mishu will be able to stand up even tomorrrow morning, bc he is recovering right now, but may be for only a few minutes because of pain.

It's now shortly after 17:00 in Campina and the temperature is getting low, I suppose. I know it's warm inside, but Mishu may feel a bit cold, bc he has a fever. Keep him warm during night.
and how do you do with his toilet, dana ? He may like to do it at the same place as usual, so you can judge the timing and hold him and take him to there, and after that you hold him again and take him inside, and keeo him warm.

Please take care of Mishu, my dear dana. and of you, both ! I have to go to bed now.
Love from me & my baby sister Ekaterina to you & Mishu !
    Good night.

  30. @ Ekaterina

He ate again and he seemed hungry, he hasn't peed since I found him this morning. I took him out at his place but didn't want to do anything. At least he WALKED!!!! And he climbed the 12 steps of the house, twice, In the end he got into the hall where I kept him, though he never does this even if I call him inside!
I guess he feels good there! If he will do there something over the night, I'll wash the carpet... But I can't keep him outdoor. It's not very cold here, but he's injured and he needs warmth.

I'll make a hot tea for myself and I'll take some pills for fever!
Thank you and your little Ekaterina! Hope everything will be fine in the morning, or at least better!
Good night and sleep well, Ekaterina! Have a pleasant national holiday tomorrow and a beautiful new week! Hugs!

Very sorry to hear about your illness with the fever, Dana. Take care!!

I am a bit worried about your dog Mishu. That is a said story too.

Hope you two have a smooth recovery and feel again good very soon.

    @Ekaterina
Very sorry to be not able to document the races during the weekend.
I regret very much, it is not possible for me to watch the races and sitting at the computer afterwards without making my partner angry. He is a spoilt "child", and furthermore he is not so much fond of ski races than I am. LOL!
So I have to look for the balance, I am sure you will understand, dear Ekaterina!!

Have a quiet and restful evening/night dear Dana & Ekaterina!

  36. Hi Girls

Here I found a wiki info about tourism in Wengen and the first ski races there:

    ReplyDelete
  37. I think the Bernese Oberland is still a very traditional region, beside of tourism and ski races, etc.
I believe the people are nice up there, always in a good mood and not so stressy all the day long. Hope Aksel & Kjetil enjoy their way to Wengen even if it is the oldfashioned way to get there (see Kjetil's blog). LOL!

    Have a nice day!!

Thanks for the nice links ! Nicolettchen !

and thank you for well wishes for my holiday today ( actually yesterday ... ). yes, I completely enjoyed a lunch, Opera, and a dinner with my friends. I was back here before midnight, bc I wanted to be here as soon as possible to check how things were going on with dana and Mishu. The friends I actually meet and the friends I meet here are equally special part of my life and I love them all, my dear Nicoletta !

and back to the topic of the link, the songs are much fun, and I enjoy many pics of the beautiful landscape, the race location, people's life, and cow's life including a cute baby cow's pic ! an I also enjoy Wengen#History site. Felix mendelssohn ! ...:-)))
I think Wengen is one of the legend-like ski race in not only in Switzerkand, but also in Europe. I think Aksel & Kjetil feel very refresh there, and we can expect their good race coming ! I suppose it was a bit too warm in Adelboden this year. In fact, it was warmer there than in Tokyo. It's so cold here in Tokyo these days. The wind is really cold, and not snow yet. ...

Have a beautiful afternoon, my dear Nicoletta ! Kisses & Hugs !

Checking TRA, thinking about Aksel, and thinking about a fever, thinking about you, then I suddenly remembered about the things I posted in ALS. At first I thought I posted it here, bc our conversation about my strawberry put me back in my memory, dana, although the strawberry in our garden is not to eat.
But I notice Aksel has not been 100% fit, so I deceided to post it in ALS, however I don't think he is interested in it. But I don't mind, bc I posted it for YOU, my dear dana !
Hope you feel much better, dana ! and hope Mishu becomes well ! Kisses & Hugs !

  47. @Ekaterina

Thanks for the tip! I like strawberries very much but I didn't know they are good when you get cold and have fever! But I eat apples and lemon.
I have to tell you that I drank a little hot tuica a few minutes ago and I think I got drunk! LOL I'm not used to drink and now I feel my feet are melting and a pleasant warmth rises up to my head! :-))) But I drank it bc it was sweet, I put pepper and honey in it. And it's good to drink a little cup when you caught a cold! LOL

I hope our Vikings will be OK very soon, maybe I should send them some hot tuica to kill the virus! Haha!

I do feel better but I still feel tired. Now I'm cooking but I don't do a big effort for this.
Mishu is not 100% recovered but he's much better!

Hope you and your little sister are fine! Wish you a pleasant evening, my dear Ekaterina! Kisses and hugs!

Apple is also good, I think. and ginger. Ginger keeps you warm. But you have an asthma ? Though I'm not sure, I think I might read something like it in ALS some months ago.
If not, put one teaspoonful of grated ginger in the hot tea or hot water and add some honey.
I suppose you've known it, bc it's worldwide famous !

But the best thing seems to be a hot tuica added pepper and honey ! ...;-))) !

My dear dana, after you finish dinner, have a rest please. If possible, it's better going to sleep earlier tonight.

Again, I'm so happy Mishu is better and better.

Hope you have a peaceful evening and a restful night, dana !
