  2. @Corinna My shouldar is good. I go tomorrow to get the stitches out! School was good. Though my shouldar did get bumped when I was sitting in the lunch room. :-( How are you?

  3. @Mel.
    Taking stitches out is a good news, bc it means you are safe from infection and on the way to the perfect recovery, Mel. I suppose you still feel something a bit unusual from time to time, but we can say it's quite normal.
    Hope you enjoy the weekend, our dear Mel !

  4. @dana.
    great pic !

    yes, not only Prince Charles, but also many other people are interested in and love your country, dana. I'm not sure if you still remember what I wrote in my first comment to you in ALS about 6 months ago, Romania is very attractive country both geographically and historically, bc several culture stepped in & out and stayed there. Actually it often brought very hard and sad period to the area, but not all the time, dana. The nature, of course is one of the factors they wanted, but don't worry, dana, GB approaches you in a friendly manner this time. ...:-)))

  5. CONGRATS TO AKSEL
    WONDERFUL, GREAT RUN!!

    @Mel @Ekaterina @ Dana

    Concerning cheese, I thought I have to look up Guggisberg cheese a little bit more, because the name sounds very much Swiss to me!
    And in Switzerland exists a small village with the same name too, as well as the family name Guggisberg.

    Very interesting, because I knew that a lot of Swiss cheesemakers went abroad to do business in foreign countries.
    It is quite facinating that Guggisberg got the milk from the Amish people to produce the cheese. No doubt they make wonderful cheese!

    You may already know, some of the Amish people have Swiss roots and I saw different documentary films about them on TV. They use still a lot of Swiss German words and can sing Swiss songs.

    So finally the link about history of Guggisberg Cheese:

    http://www.guggisberg.com/our_story.htm

    Have a pleasant Day!

  6. Congrats ! Aksel ! for the 3rd place !

    @Nicoletta.
    At last I checked the " history of cheesemaking " link, and it's so fun, Nicoletta !
    btw, looking at the web, I clicked some items, bc as you see, I'm not good at using pc and I think I need a training. Then, I found a fuuny thing. The embassy of Switzerland is located across the street from the embassy of Norway ! and I checked the embassy of Romania, and it is located around the same area. Those 3 embassies are one stop by U-Bahn from our house.

    Have a nice weekend, dear Nicoletta !

    How are you? Hope your shoulder is better!
    I'm glad you like the pics, my background on my computer is another pic from those that I sent you: Aksel Lund Svindal on Ice! I love that picture,it's priceless! LOL If the other girls want to see them, maybe you'll post here the pics I sent you!
    Take care of you, my dear Mel! Have a nice day! Hugs!

    @Ekaterina
    Thank you very much! But I hope you remember I told you something then too: we use to say about Romania "beautiful country, what a pity it's populated"! We are passing through a very difficult period. We need help but it seems the others are estranging from us! Romanians became a kind of paria all across the Europe, but I can tell you we're not worse than the others. We have a word: there's no forest without brushwood!
    And I still think we're not hopeless!

    Ekaterina, I confess that I didn't know that I love my country so much till now, when I've met you all and I started to tell you about it, about our values, about our people, about our tradition and about all the beautiful places you can see here! I think if the government would have paid me for all that I've done to promote Romania on these two blogs, now I'd be rich! Haha!! Kidding!

    And I'm proud that I could teach a Japanese girl to make sour cabbage in a Romanian style! And when you'll make your first sarmale I'll be prouder! Hahaha!

    Thank you so much for your beautiful words, you're always very nice!
    Wish you to have a pleasant and restful weekend! I can't wait Monday! :)))
    Hugs!

    Thank you so much for the link about Guggisberg cheese! Very interesting! You know, I like cheese and these days, almost everytime I read your and Ekaterina's comments or articles that you both posted here, I was drooling! LOL Here in my region is very popular a home made smoked cheese, a kind of a semi-hard cheese.
    I need a cheese sandwich bc I feel I'm hungry again! Haha!

    Wish you a great weekend, my dear Nicoletta! Kisses!

  9. @dana.
    Generaly speaking, the government moves so so slow nowadays, dana. I'm talking about our government and yours look alike ours.
    We are faster than them, it's true !

    Hope you have a restful and pleasant weekend, my dear dana. I'm going to take a bath and go to bed. Good night.

  10. @Ekaterina Now I get to do therapy! I love therapy! I'm gonna call monday to set up the first appointment.

    @Nicoletta Yup the family that owns the Guggisberg Cheese Company are Swiss. We have a lot of German, Swiss, Polish, Austrian & Hungarian families in Ohio. Anyway, the cheese is soft & rich & oh so very good. I have a chunk of it in my fridge right now.

    @Dana LOL That's the background on my phone. I'm good. The shouldar is doing good. I'm very glad that the stitches are gone. Though I did make 2 of them bleed a little bit. I think I might have bumped them on the wall or maybe when my friend Mary hugged me. She hugged me pretty tight around my shouldars when I left school today. How are you?

    ReplyDelete
  11. @Mel That pic is awesome! LOL
    I'm so glad your shoulder is doing good!
    I know your friend Mary loves you but ask her to be gentle to you till you'll be totally recovered and then she may hug you as tight as she wants! Haha!
    Do you go to school every day? What about your job?

    I'm fine, Mel, thanks. Now I'm waiting for Aksel's DH race, I'm excited but a bit nervous! Wish him to be fast and most of all, safe!

    Have a great weekend! Love you!

    ReplyDelete
  12. @Mel.
    That's good, Mel ! I don't think the therapy went well before you took surgery, but this time different. I'm sure the therapy helps you recover completely. What sort of therapy are you going to get ?
    I also figure out that it is a good idea or a lucky coincidence that the school and the therapy starts almost the same period, something like a parallel, bc you can mentally expect synergistic effect.

    Hope you enjoy the pleasant weekend, dear Mel !

  13. Wow! Great picture ALS! Wish I could have it on my cell phone. I'm home alone this weekend, my husband is in Lyon France, and I've been enjoying reading all the old comments. Thanks for writing such interesting comments this last week. I've been busy trying to find a job, and staying out of trouble, trying not to spend money.

    @Dana Missed you my sis! How are tricks? Hope you are feeling better. I can't believe it is spring there and something is blooming in your garden. We're in dead winter or king winter as someone said. Freezing...How is your wheat grass from Christmas. I noticed they sell it here in little pots and thought of you.

    @Mel Glad you are healing from your surgery and enjoying your new school. What a great start to the new year for you.

    @Ekaterina Can't wait to hear your report on your new batch of samale, and cheese exploration.

    @Nicolletta Thanks for posting all the awesome links. I think your our blogspot researcher or information officer?

    @Akumabunny Volleyball action in BĂ„stad! Fantastic! I wonder if that was the reason Kjetil started growing his hair longer? Those guys all have long hair. Isn't JO car out of this world? Wow!

    @Corinna Your Dad is hilarious even in print and from a thousand miles away. Hope you've had a good time, what a nice memory for you both. What did ALS sign this time?

    Everyone else you've been missed. Keep posting. I'm going to try to catch ALS in replay today on CBC. Unfortunately, that's all my local cable company provides in the way of alpine sport. Have a great weekend.

    How are you? I'm fine, thanks!
    I'm glad you're a good girl and stay home reading our comments while you husband is so far away from you!! Haha! I miss you too!
    Our spring turned winter today! It's snowing for some hours.
    Can't believe it!! Do they sell wheat grass there? Nice!!!

    How's your mom? Give her my best regards and kiss her from me, please!

    Oh, yeah, I'm sure that post was just for my own!! Haha! Aksel likes to surprise me from time to time! LMAO

    What music do you listen these days? I came back in the 90's and I listen to something like this:

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fMt2d3yEuik&feature=related

    Hope you like it too! Haha!

    Wish you to have a beautiful winter weekend! LOL And hope you'll have more time to talk to us here! Remember, this is one of you resolutions for this year! LOL Love you, Sis!

  16. Hi Girls

    @Giffy
    I like your short and precise entries towards all girls! Lovely.

    Hope your comment about my research is positive and not only the ironic way!! Ha, Ha.

    But in fact, I like to inform myself about any subject and because I am a communicative person, I am hardly to stop. Sorry for that!

    @Dana
    Did Aksel try to copy Cuche today? Look at his new entry! And was it not such a good decision??

    Nice video and interesting music! I love your research regarding music and video clips, and first of all your making of videos!!!

    We are also back to Winter after 2 weeks of Spring time. I think it is back to normal because we are still in January.

    Have a great day/evening!

    ReplyDelete
  17. @Nicoletta
    Sorry, I don't understand what do you mean about Aksel trying to copy Didier?!? I saw his new entry, but I still don't understand! Sorry again!! :))

    Thanks, but I didn't make those videos alone, I'm not that good! lol I'm glad you like the music on that link! I'm crazy about music! Really crazy! LOL
    And I have to thank you for introducing me Gotthard! It's a good music and Steve voice sounds great! Do you know if the guys found another voice for the band? If they did, I don't know if the things will be the same!!

    I saw on the news that the snow has come back in many countries in Europe. Here were so many car accidents last night and today bc of the snow on the road even the snow is not too big! Some ppl were killed! Scary!!

    Wish you a beautiful Saturday evening! Hugs!

    ReplyDelete
  18. @Dana

    copy of Aksel's entry:

    ..... How he skis is a lesson in perfect downhill skiing. I could keep up with him for about half the course. But by doing so i take more risk then him, and then i do misstakes that cost time....

    Maybe my poor English is to bad to understand it the right way? But nevermind, today it was the day of Didier!
    I know that the racers watch the racers on the monitor. My first idea was he tried something new???

    Anyway, Congrats to Didier!!

    Some nice pics:

    http://www.skionline.ch/index.php?section=gallery&cid=211

    Deeply sorry for the severe accidents on the roads in Romania!!

    Regarding Gotthard. They have not yet decided what to do. To replace the frontman is almost impossible, especially to replace Steve.
    Thanks very much for asking, Dana.

    Have a beautiful evening, Dana!

  19. @giffy i will tell you tomorrow what he sign this time! i going to watch the slalom live tomorrow! i have to get up at 6am and we going to kitz at 7:10 am! i can´t wait! i really want to go right now!HAHA!

    ReplyDelete
  20. @Nicoletta
    Maybe MY poor English is too bad to understand the right way! What I understood is that keeping up with Didier on the first part of the course, made Aksel to take more risk and bc of this he did mistakes!

    Yes, congratulations to Didier, he deserves them! Thank you for the pics! He's a very nice person and as Aksel, he smiles all the time! lol

    I've figured out Steve is very difficult to replace! I told you, he had a great voice, perfect for the music he sang! What a pity!

    Have a pleasant evening, dear Nicoletta!

  21. @Dana I will have to remind her to be gentle with me. I go to school Monday, Wednesday & Friday. I'm off work until March & then I'll be off the days I go to school. I'm not gonna want to go back after being off for 7 weeks or so. I will have to post a new blog tonight with some of your pictures.

    @Giffy You can have it on your phone too! Go to mobile17.com & you can send it to your phone for free. Hopefully it works for your phone because it didn't work for Jay's phone. IDK why it didn't work, but it didn't.

    @Ekaterina I'll be doing shouldar strengthening. Basically the same things I did before. It didn't help before surgery because I had a 2in tear in the rotator cuff where the tendon attaches. Plus a bone spur which my sister said probably caused most of my pain.

    Well I'm off to hang out with Jess & Angel. Hopefully we don't cause too much trouble. LOL

  22. "SKI QUEEN". That's its name and it's a Norwegian cheese !

    @all ladies.
    I'm going to host the cheese supper party on Tuesday in my house.
    There is no big cheese store in Tokyo, so I have to visit several cheese shops in the supermarket and in the department store. I've already visited 3 of them and got Appenzeller ( silver label ) and Jarlsberg, and I finished the both. Today I visited other 3 of them, and got Emmentaler, Camembert, and Appenzeller and Jarlsberg again. The one of the supermarket I visited today is very popular among European and American, and it has large variety of cheese, however 80% of them is from France. The person there seems to know about cheese " situation " in Japan. He told me Guggisberg doesn't sell in Japan, though I remember I saw the logo somewhere. He also said that Beck sells some in Japan, but not in his shop today. There is only 2 kinds of Norwegian cheese, Jarlsberg and " SKI QUEEN ",and I asked him was it Brunost, and he said " no ". He said they don't sell Brunost.

    That was my result today.

    I'm going to visit other 3 of them on my way back from DARIE tomorrow. I think I also have a chance to ask about Romanian cheese in DARIE. I plan to buy 3 or 4 more cheese. Olive and gurken are already, and paprika, too.
    I want to buy Bergkase and Brunost, but all depends on the shops. The rest 20% which escaped from the domination by France is from Switzerland, Denmark, Italy, Germany, England, Spain, Greece, Holland, Australia ( not Austria ), New Zealand, the US, and Norway.

    I try to do my best tomorrow.
    Hope you have a beautiful Sunday, and a pleasant new week ! Hugs !

  23. @ Ekaterina

    WOW! I have never ever in my life heard of or seen this cheese. LOL But I will try to get some info about it!!!

    ReplyDelete
  24. @AM Who is the Norwegian Ski Queen? I wonder if it's made in Minnesota? Are you surviving the dark? Is it getting lighter yet?

    @Dana I love this video. It makes me want to dance. Yes, this is a good mix. I have it playing in the background while I type. Love it, I think you're a Heavy Metal Girl or a Guitar Shredder. Haha! Who's Apollo 440? He's got a lot of good ones. I will try to honor my New Year's Resolution. Have a good week my dear Dana.

    @Nicoletta Of course I meant it only as a compliment and with the best regards. I think you're amazing and very knowledgable on very diverse topics. I've enjoyed learning about all the things you discuss and especially Steve Lee's music through you, too! Of Course, I'm clueless on skiing so your insights are always helpful. Thanks!

    @Corinna I looked for you and your Dad in the crowd. LOL! Are your goggles pink? Can't wait for more news from you! I have to watch ALS on Canadian tv channel and they concentrate on the Canadian Cowboys, didn't even show Kjetil yesterday.

    @Ekaterina In the US we call that a cheese and wine party. Enjoy! Sounds like fun! I have Fontina, Gruyere, and Parmesan in my fridge.

    @Mel Thanks I have a beach on my phone background. I think my husband would be jealous if I used this photo. Glad you are feeling well, I hope the cold doesn't bother your shoulder?

    Everyone, adieu, have a great week. Stay warm! Enjoy!

    Thanks very much for your compliment!
    May I ask you from which country you are? Or better said, where do you live?
    I am courious, I know.

    @Ekaterina
    I love your cheese sortiment, wonderful combination!

    What about some Blue cheese? Would be totally different.

    Danish Blue cheese for example, or Italian Gorgonzola or eventually English Blue Cheese is it Roquefort? I had some very nice cheese in England too. But I do not know if it was from the Export.

    @Mel
    I enjoy your reports about school. I love to hear that you are on a very good way in any aspect. Great!!

    @Dana
    Love your music, good sound especially:

    Smiley Pacha Man
    not so much because of the man - because of the music, Dana! LOL

    I feel honored that you posted "Eagle" a song from Gotthard! I presume with the album "Homerun 2001" they where very much experimental!

    @Corinna
    Looking very much forward to see your pictures. I can understand, that there was an enormous crowd around Aksel.
    He is always so charming, even on Swiss TV giving interviews he always smiles.

    @All

  29. @Dana I listened to quite a bit of Apollo 440 earlier. There was a squirrel disco party outside my kitchen window. I'm not kidding. They must have very good ears. There were four couples dancing (what else would they do?) around the trees in front of my kitchen window. It is still very cold here but clear and sunny.

    This is what I'm listening to now, 50 top guitar riffs, but I especially like:
    Led Zeppelin Heartbreaker
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mYWxE-ShdXc
    The Smiths This Charming Man
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cjeBUb4RW1g&feature=related
    Cream Sunshine of your love
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Cqh54rSzheg

    @Corinna I'm so glad you had a good time. Too bad you didn't get to see the Big Guy very close-up. I'm sure he appreciated you not being pushy for a photo or autograph, and I bet he's seen your kind comments on his website. Did you see anyone that looked like they needed a hairbrush? I bet the people watching was fantastic!

    @Nicoletta Thank you for the compliment. I make so many mistakes when writing here, I thought it was clearly obvious that I'm a clueless American. I grew up in Central Ohio, but now live near Kid Rock and Eminem near Detroit MI.

    @Ekaterina I forgot to mention that I also have a wide variety of products from Kraft in my fridge. Kraft is the Maker of fine processed cheese-like foods that melt easily. I don't think there's even any real food in them mostly processed chemicals. But when you mix Velveeta, the most popular fake cheese, with salsa and melt it makes a delicious dip for tortilla chips. LOL!

    ReplyDelete
  30. @Nicoletta
    I'm honored too, bc you liked Smiley & Pacha Man (there are two guys, Pacha Man is the scare-crow in the video!lol)They are Romanian!!!

    And I really love Gotthard music, I told you this before! They are pretty new for me though I think I also told you I knew the voice and I knew Steve, but I didn't know his name and that he's Gotthard's leader!
    Yes, "Eagle" is from the album Homerun 2001!

    Have a nice evening and a great new week! Hugs!

  32. @Giffy
    Yes, good old music!!! Different of mine, but good! Thanks for the links, sis!

    So your squirrels like Apollo 440! Great!! LOL I have a pair of squirrels that visit me very often but they are not as friendly as yours, they come in the fir tree I have in front of my house! Here it's snowing since yesterday and I don't know if they'll come if the snow is that big! One is dark brown and the other one is red-brown!

    Hope to see you soon! Kisses and hugs!
