Boys Will Be Boys...LMAO

It started out innocently enough...
Then it took a turn for the gutter...
*rolls on the floor with laughter* They look so proud of their monument to manhood...too bad they had to change the shape of it though...*busts out laughing*

  3. Hi Girls

After having some interesting talks (and obviously a lot of fun) about an immense scuplture built up in Canada, I thought it is time to speak about another history subject.

Do you know already Frederick II of the Stauffers, German emperior, raised in Palermo, Sicily?

I saw lately a very interesting documentation with stunning pictures about this great men as well as the area, art and especially his interesting life.

Frederick II was a very cultivated man and he was able to speak six languages: Latin, Sicilian, German, French, Greek and Arabic and knew a lot about all this cultures and as well as about different sciences. His absolute hobby was the raise of falcons.

Furthermore he gained Jerusalem back for the Christs without using his sword. And last but not least, he loved women very much (look at his Familiy list in the wiki link beneath), and must have been a lovely and interesting person.

The documentation is in German, not boring and has beautiful pictures and impressions:

    http://www.zdf.de/ZDFmediathek/beitrag/video/1186364/Folge-2-Friedrich-II.-und-der-Kreuzzug#/beitrag/video/1186364/Folge-2-Friedrich-II.-und-der-Kreuzzug

And here the Wikipedia info in Englisch:

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Frederick_II,_Holy_Roman_Emperor

    @Ekaterina & Dana
Im am absolute happy if I can post a link for you. You are always very welcome!!

@To all other Girls, have trial, history is fascinating...

Hopefully all of you can see the video. LOL!

    Have a happy day/evening!

  4. Do you see, what I see?

  7. @Nicoletta.
Nicoletta ! Thanks for the link !
It's a really nice program ! Although my German ability is just poor, I can guess the contents. Friedrich II is famous figure even for us as one of the Holly Roman Emperors who had the international sense of what is important. It came from the international or the mixed atmosphere in Palermo those days. He was a very open- minded person and also a maverick, I think. Actually, the level of the science in some fields in the Islamic world was higher than that in the Christian world in his time.

btw, though you may not believe it, Nicoletta, one of my neighbors keeps the falcon ! Papa ( the owner ) is a hair-stylist and often let Candy ( a name of the he-falcon ) fly with his hand the thick leather glove.

Hope you keep the good health, Nicoletta !

  8. @dana.
I think I start the second stage on Sunday.
So, we both have to be as healthy as now on Sunday, dana ! Please !

Have a pleasant evening, dana. Good night.

Hope to be as healthy as I am now, thanks, you too!

Good night and sweet dreams, my dear Ekaterina!

@Nicoletta Thank you for the links! I told you I'm just an amateur in many domains but the documentary was very interesting, like Ekaterina I more guessed the contents but I did understand it! Unfortunately I haven't found anything in Romanian about Friedrich II but I understand much more from Wikipedia than from the documentary! I'd like my English to be better, I try my best!

Take care, don't hurry! We use to say "More haste, less speed"! LOL

Have a nice evening, Nicoletta! Hugs!

  15. @Corinna Brandon is a pharmacist at my store. One night when he was leaving he said right in my ear 'Have a good night.' Tuesday when I came in to file my perscription he was there. He was all Miss this & Miss that. He was very sweet & attentive. He asked if I had taken naprox before & I said yeah a few years ago for my wrist. Any other pharmacist would have said ok & went back to what he was doing. Not Brandon he proceeded to tell me to make sure to eat something when I took the meds because I could get a tummy ache. He's cute, a little taller than me, a full head of gorgeous coal black hair & greyish brown eyes. I've never seen greyish brown eyes before. Now that your all caught up. Are you feeling any better?

    @Dana I do try.

    ReplyDelete
  16. @dana.
The brine has become more turbid. But I'm wondering it may be a little early to advance to the second stage this weekend, though it's not too early to start. The smell is not sharp, but mild , I think. and the brine does not taste sour. I'm going to prepare all the materials tomorrow.

Wishing you a nice Friday evening, dana ! Hugs !

    ReplyDelete
  17. @Ekaterina
    Hello my dear Ekaterina!
My advice is to wait a little more till the brine become sour enough. So there's no rush to prepare the materials tomorrow. Or I better ask you what do you mean "to prepare" them? Buy them or what?
Today I was thinking of you and I realized I didn't tell you we use a Romanian cabbage, with thin leaves, easy to roll! I don't know what kind of cabbage you have there, but if the leaves are thick you can make the sarmale a little bigger, the size it doesn't matter especially when you make this for the first time in your life! LOL And is important to remove the rib of the leaf.
    Keep in touch!

Wish you a pleasant evening too, or better a peaceful night! Hugs!

  18. Ladies: No comments on Movemeber? I can't believe it! How is everyone?

@Dana What about the hands? It's so funny he took his picture in the bathroom mirror again. I live close to Detroit so Kid Rock is my neighbor and no way does ALS look like him! LOL! I know you're kidding. How are you dear? I wish I was brave enough to make sarmale.

@Ekaterina I am enjoying the cabbage experience through you. I love the word turbid, is the cabbage also pungent? Keep up the good work. I await the results.

@Nicole I'm glad you're like a comet. Hope your college experience is getting better!

    ReplyDelete
  19. @Corinna BTW, what car did you buy? We love German engineered cars. :) You should drink champagne to your new car! Enjoy! Let us know how the dancing goes this weekend.

    ReplyDelete
  20. @dana.
Thanks dana ! for much helpful advices !
" to prepare " means to buy the materials such as meat, bacon, tomate sauce ...
OK, I wait until the brine becomes sour.
Anyhow it is my first experience in life, and I'm thinking already I'll make it several times during this winter.
As for the cabbage, ours is also thin, and soft. Even the rib is thin.

Thanks again, dana. Have an exciting weekend ! Hugs ! Good night.

  21. @Giffy
Hello Mrs. Gifford!!! So happy to see you, I've really missed you!!! How are you?
Haha! About the hands! That's why I said my friends know why I thank him a lot for the pic!! LOL He has such a beautiful hands and I was so glad to see them from so close!! I think he took that pic thinking I'll love it! lmao
    (@AM I'm kidding! Hehe!)

I'm fine, thanks! I'm in a good mood as almost always and with the mind in the gutter! LOL
Yes, I really admire Ekaterina for her courage! It's not easy to make some kind of food you've never made it before, without some "visual" help! And sarmale in not quite simple, as you see...

    @Ekaterina
You welcome! It's my pleasure to help you as much as I can, I'll try my best! Hope you still have that link with the recipe, I think you'll need it to guide you.
Have an awesome weekend too, my dear! Good night!

  22. @Dana I'm good. I've missed you guys too! I was on vacation in Daytona Beach FL minus computer. So nice. Unlike most of you, I don't like snow. I like beach.

Have you seen this? David Letterman - Jim Carrey sings. Reminds me of you!

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=25jCDWw6vSQ

    ReplyDelete
  23. @Giffy I like snow but I don't like when is very, very cold! LOL
You're right, the best vacation is that one without computer! I'm glad you had a great time! I need some vacation too! On the beach it would be great! LOL

I can't see anything, it's just a total black screen! Can I find it somewhere else?

    ReplyDelete
  24. @Dana Shoot! I watched it on AOL and thought it might be easier for you on youtube. I wonder if you search Jim Carrey on David Letterman 2010 if it will come up anywhere else on Youtube? It was just on last night. It was funny, I thought you would enjoy! He's no Morten.

And how do you think ALS keeps his fingernails looking so nice. I don't think mine are so clean and trimmed most of the time...

They actually drive on the beach in Daytona. We usually like the Gulf side of FL but they had the oil spill you know. I guess it's cleaned up? It was my Mom's 75th birthday.

    ReplyDelete
  25. @Dana What about this?

  26. @Giffy thanks, I tried to find it by myself and I made it!!! Haha! I was sure it's something about A-HA!! I know is not Morten but Jim is not bad at all! And I liked when he broke the cup! LOL
    Thank you again!

I saw Aksel's fingernails and I though the same as you, that mine are not always that clean! Haha!

Wow! Happy Birthday to your mom! I wish her all the best, especially to be healthy! My dad is 76! Can't help asking how's your mother in law? LOL

    ReplyDelete
  27. @Dana Thanks! My Mom is healthy but she's also fiesty and she likes her wine! She said to me, "I don't have any gray hair." And I said, "That's because you have a very good colorist!" My MIL is a piece of work as they say! She says, "You should always pass the salt and pepper together. They are like a married couple and should never be seperated." I use an old lady voice when I talk like her. LOL! Hope you have a great weekend. Have fun! Glad you are in love!

    ReplyDelete
  28. @Giffy Wine is good for health! It keeps the heart in a good condition! And is great your mom has any gray hair, no matter is bc the colorist!! All that matters is that she feels good with herself! And she seems to have a good sense of humor too!
LOL I'd loke to hear you talking like your MIL!!!

@Dana Too bad we can't play matchmaker with your Dad and my Mom.

@Corinna It's good for you to dance and sweat out your cold. Shake your booty! Love your car you will be a man magnet in that. I know you drive better than the guy in the VW video.

@Corinna I meant to say "Drop it like it's hot!" Do you dance like that?

i love the beard of als! he looks so "verwegen" with it!

    ReplyDelete
  74. @Dana My Mom is very young looking also, no gray hair. She is actually dating a guy (if you can be 75 and dating?) named Pete whom I met last week. We called him Pistol Pete and and make our fingers into guns and said "Pew, Pew, Pew," like an old western movie. She has a daschund named Mr. Wyndall and I like him better than Pete.

  76. @dana noooo with this beard it is much better! i love it, i love it so much!

    ReplyDelete
  77. @Corinna I had to google translate verwegen, "dangerous/daring". I love learning new German terms and looking them up. I still remember rose colored glasses and winter of the century. TYVM

@Dana He needs a camera lesson. His face should be in the light, not the light behind him...and Simen should come out of the shower and help take the picture...

    ReplyDelete
  78. @Giffy Your mom is a great lady, I already love her! I told you she has a great sense of humor, which is awesome!

If you missed it here's again, but you have to wait a few seconds till the music starts

Gosh! I should get something done today. I've had too much fun with you guys. I've missed you. Keep up the good work and have a great weekend.

    ReplyDelete
  81. @Corinna So if ALS looks verwegen and your new guy looks like ALS he must be all of these verwegen things too! Watch out! I think you'll get married before my Mom and Dana's Dad. And when we're bridesmaids at your wedding we'll have the penguin dance.
