Earthquake In Canton?!?!?!

OMG!!! I just felt my first earthquake & I never ever, ever want to feel another one! The dogs started barking like crazy & then my chair started rocking side to side. I got up I thought OMG that's one strong wind, but when I looked the trees weren't moving. I looked around & noticed the chandeliers were swaying & so were the sun catchers the kids made. Ella is now outside & she will not come back in the house. I think it really scared her. I'm still shaking & it happened about 1:50pm EST. The quake started in Mineral, VA 5.9 & has been felt as far away as Detroit, MI. Everyone is fine. A lot of cell phones cutting out, but I think that's to be expected.

  5. @Corinna We very rarely ever have earthquakes on the east coast. Our fault lines are very deep in the earth & when they happen it's usually not felt on the surface. We did have a 2.2 near Youngstown, Ohio yesterday & it was 5km deep. This one was only 1km deep. Sorry it took me forever to write this the kids came home from school & we were talking about whats going on.

  6. @mel no problem!

i read that it was only one 1 km deep!

have you felt that one from yesterday too?

i think i had once experiance a real soft earthquake and you just reconize it bc of the chandeliers!

  7. @Corinna No I didn't feel the one yesterday. I was sleeping when it happened. It was registered in Akron which is 30 minutes away from me. It didn't even make the news. I didn't know about until I got on the governments earthquake page.

Thanks a lot for your detailed report about your adventures, Corinna!

I feel sorry you met such an ignorant wind surf teacher!

But the rest of the holiday sounds real great, I am sure you had a great time!

Last night I watched the football match between Bayern-München and FC Zürich! Of course Bayern-München won, they are much stronger! But the match was quite ok!

BTW I am a great fan of Robben! He is my favorite!

    @All

Wish you all a great day!
    Take care!

  13. What all did ALS put on that giant hamburger?

@Corinna Loved your travel news. Glad you had a great time and sounds like a bit of a flirt with the lifeguard! I'm sorry your windsurf instructor was an idiot. He didn't know what he was talking about so I'm glad you changed. We all believe you have great balance. Sounds like a wonderful trip and fun drive home.

@Mel I didn't feel anything from the earthquake here. Glad you're all safe.

@Nicoletta Your new shoes sound beautiful. I did buy a new pair for my job interview, black clogs. They did not bring me luck. At least I haven't heard anything yet. I did the thank you for interviewing me letter, and the call back to check in but it's been a week. The JO blog is funny! :)

@Dana How is my bike riding Sis? What's up?

You make it the right way, everytime you succeed to get a job interview you deserve a real great gift, Giffy!

Good luck, Giffy, and try to look at it in a sporty way!

Everybody knows how difficult it is to find a good job, if we are not between the most wanted 20-30!

Keep up your good mood, Giffy!
