Chili Bound

Looks like the boys had some good training in New Zealand. Can't wait to see what they get into in Chili. I like the paint job on the plane. It's very interesting.

  1. Hi Ladies!

    How is life?

Mel is busy with school again, Ekaterina is taking the long travel to Tokio, and can hopefully enjoy a smooth and safe flight!

Dana is perhaps riding with her bicycle in the evening, and she is so kind and makes some kilometers more for Ekaterina!

Giffy, of course looking out for a nice job and eventually for gorgeous shoes, boots or purses?

Corinna is back to work, not dreaming from her ex windsurf teacher, but looking forward to the next happy time at the lake of Garda.

Nicoletta had troubles with the hairdresser, one made the hair to dark, the other poor girl had cut into her finger and could not work, so I had to go to the collegue. The collegue made a real bad cut! So I had two bad experiences in one month.

I finished with a correction cut with my hairdresser (the one with the finger which thank good healed very quick.

So I will coulour my hair in the meanwile with colorance because they are still a bit darker. After my vacation I will have a new start with the coulour.

You see, I am ok, no coughing anymore, it seems the hairdresser is my only big problem at the moment! LOL

Sorry I do not speak about spandex or Aksel, but I am lucky he is doing that job for me. HaHa

Proud on him, the first time he said directly something to a stupid anon with these silly remarks. That I call a big progress!

Hope the hot pics in spandex will come soon!

Wish all of you a great Friday and a beautiful weekend!

    Love you!
    Hugs & Kisses

How do you enjoy school ? I presume it's so exciting ! Right ?

btw, I was very surprised at the earthquake hit the east side of the US. Hope it'll be the first and last one to you and Ella May.

Have a happy weekend, my dear Mel !

    @corinna.
Very much fun to read your report, my dear corinna. But that instructor looks so strange ! I think it's he who doesn't have the balance !

Also very much pleased to see you enjoyed your stay there, especially with your parents !

Have a pleasant weekend, my dear corinna !

    @Giffy.
How's the flower in your garden ? Giffy ?

btw, I think it's about the time to start the next chapter ? my dear Giffy ? I hope you'll get the job which needs your excellent skill and sense of writing.

Have a beautiful weekend, my dear Giffy !

    @dana.
First of all, I think I had better say thank you in advance for riding some km for me ! my dear dana !

btw, isn't it the time for you to visit B again ? dana ? ... I know you don't like it, though. But Giffy helps you already, I think. ... ;-)))
I've thought about your thyroid problem from time to time, and I really want it leave from you !

Have a peaceful weekend, my dear dana !

    @Nicoletta.
Thanks, Nicolettchen !!! I'm back safe.

sorry for the hairdresser problem, but I suppose it's much better than coughing, bc you'll start your holiday from middle of September, and I think the best health must accompany with you !

btw, I got tanned. I walked long hours along the beach and even in the sea. The weather in Ostsee was really the best in summer while I stayed there. I thought of you walking, bc the sun there was too strong for the Renoir girl. ... ;-))) So, I walked some km for you, my dear Nicoletta !!! and the skin on my shoulders and the thighs is slightly peeling now ! but not seriously, so no need to worry about it.

Have a lovely weekend, my dear Nicoletta !

  7. Hello my dear friends!

First of all I want to say Welcome back, my dear @Ekaterina!

Then I want to say I'm sorry I haven't visited the blog lately, sometimes I was busy, other times lazy... Mea culpa!:))

Now I'm packing my bags bc tomorrow morning, at 7, I go to Bucharest. As very well said Ekaterina I have to check my thyroid again. I have an appointment for ultrasound Monday at 3PM and in the same day, at 5PM I go to the doctor to see if my nodules are smaller. Wednesday my aunt wants to take me to a homeopathic doctor bc she thinks she can help me more, beside the treatment that I already take. I think I'll stay there for at least a week, I can take two weeks vacation, but I'll think about it! LOL

    @Nicoletta
Unfortunately I wasn't biking more than once in this time, but I thought of Ekaterina and I made 3km for her!:) Hope you are fine now!

    @Giffy
I think you have forgotten me and the doctor riding the motorbike!!!! LMAO I can't wait the new chapter of your awesome novel! Wish you to find a new and good job very soon, my dear Sis!

    @Mel
Wish you a wonderful start of school! Enjoy it! How's your little baby girl? Does she still bite?:)

    @Corinna
Be good girl and use the condom when you talk to some guys you meet in the bar! LMAO

Wish you all a beautiful sunny September weekend! Be happy and smile, my dearest friends!
Love, kisses and hugs to everyone!

  8. @dana.
So, ... I strongly cross my fingers for you, my dear dana !!!
I suppose you'll also take CT or MRI, and of course Dracula test.

But as you say, you'll take some holidays during your " official " stay in B, and have another opportunity to meet Aksel. ... ;-)))

There are not at all so many homeopathic doctors and the methods as well in Japan, bc the medical people here only wants to rely on mostly the newest developed medicine. Why ? Because it's easier for them to work. It is the same as the physiotherapist case. There are much fewer physiotherapists here to the people who needs them. Why ? The medical people including the government officials thinks it'll make things too complicated if they have to arrange those things together. And I often think they are totally wrong, bc every patients need the flexible program of the treatment. So I hope you'll be able to take the best combination of all kinds of the treatment to get rid of your thyroid trouble like the nodules.

So, ... ( again ), I guess you're too busy to drop the lines here today. I'd be pleased if you let us know what's going on after you settle in B. You don't have to do it today. I know packing eats much time from my experience.

Have a nice drive to B tomorrow morning, and don't forget to take the pill 30 minutes before you start for B.

Kisses & Hugs full of love, my dear dana !!!

    * the report on my holiday, 2011 *
I arrived at Berlin Tegel airport in August 16th as scheduled. According to my German friends there, it had been cold in this summer until I came, but I brought " orthodox " summer to Germany. ... ;-))) Actually it was really summer climate in Germany while I stayed there.

I think it's 12th or 13th for me to visit Berlin and I always stay in my friend's house which is located outskirt of Berlin except 2002 when I had all the tickest of the Staatsoper Berlin which gave 10 performances of Wagner that year. I didn't want to bother her family to be back her home very late for 10 nights.

Most of the time, I take S-Bahn to the central area in the city of Berlin and spend time alone, bc I like holidays both " alone " and " together ". I think you can understand what I mean.

I think I have something special feeling toward Berlin, bc the day I first visited there from Bayreuth in August in 1999 was the day the Reichstag officially moved back to Berlin from Bonn, although I didn't know it then. The grandparents of my friend told me and I was impressed with it.

Berlin has been changing since 1999, however there are still many construction or re-construction areas in the city, bc as you see, Berlin is the unusual city with the history of devision. The most of the cultual area belonged to DDR with a few exception such as Philharmony.

I enjoy the changing atmosphere in Berlin every time. How is the " new " Berlin growing up, and so on.

This time, I have the shorter holiday than always. I usually stay a week or more in Berlin and naturally I go to the concerts in Philharmony, but this year I go to their concerts in Tokyo in November. ... ;-)))

Then, here comes my favorite Ostsee ! but I think I had better write about it possibly tomorrow, bc I like to control the jet lag.
But let me show you here the contents of my report.
*Prologue : Berlin. ( this one today )
    *1) Ostsee.
    *2) Bayreuth & Wirsberg.
    *Epilogue : Berlin.
*3)very nice looking boy sitted next to me on the way back from Munchen to Tokyo.

    I'm a bit afraind you'll skip *1), *2) and *Epilogue. ... :-)))

Hope you all have a nice Sunday !

All my best wishes to you, dear Dana!

Your aunt is a great lady, I strongly agree with Ekaterina, it is always good to try homeopathic treatments too. And a combination of it is perhaps the best solution.

Wish you a successful visit in the hospital, and perhaps you meet the nice doctor in Bucarest again. Who knows?

    Good luck, Dana!

Before I will enjoy your interesting report from your holiday in Europe some lines:

You are perfectly right, I had some troubles with my "Renoir" skin because of the extreme heat around 30 and more, as well as the enormous humidity.

Perhaps you remember I had already at the end of April, evt. May this terrible rash especially on arms and legs?

So the rash came back with great intensivity. So I thought, me taking cortison again! Never!

So I curred it with a homeopathic oil, another cream, and don't laugh I finally went to the Sun studio (only 3 minutes!) LOL.

After one week I felt fine! Now everything is perfect and I am not so pale anymore! I went many years to the Sun Studio and stopped it in Spring.

You never know, perhaps it is ok for me, I need some preparation for the sun as well some heat for my respitory system.

Everything is a question of the balance, isn't it so, Ekaterina?

Have to leave and will enjoy your entry tomorrow morning, dear Ekaterina!

Have a good and quiet sleep, Ekaterina!

  13. @corinna.
    good question ! corinna !
It's because it depends on the destination which needs the conncection flight.
As for LH, the direct flight from Japan is to Frankfurt and Munchen. I took the flight to Berlin via Frankfurt, bc it has the faster connection flight. But I prefer Munchen airport to Frankfurt airport, bc it's more concise for me and Frankfurt departure flight is a bit too early for me. So I take the flight back to Tokyo via Munchen as possible as I can. The aircraft Frankfurt - Tokyo is A380 and it's great, but I I don't mind if it's A340 ( or A320 ? I'm not sure ... ;-))) )which makes flight Munchen - Tokyo.

    @Nicoletta.
I'm happy to know you are not annoyed with rash anymore, Nicolettchen.
btw, the Sun Studio ! I've never been there, so I don't know much about it, but isn't it a strong beam ? ... however 3 minutes sounds OK.
I completely agree with you, Nicoletta, that everything is a matter of the balance !

  16. @all we was out last night and had some fun and some not so funny things!

we was out last night in our special bar!
we was three girls! and our youngus, get in trouble, bc on guy wanted to dance with her and she didn´t want that, he takes her on the arm and just pulled her with him! we had no chance to help her! so this did an other guy! he was suddenly standing behind her and said to the guy that he is her boyfriend and that he should take off his hands from her!
so he did and she came back to us!
10 min later she wanted to say thank you to that guy, which helped her! and he just said:"do you don´t know me?i be famous! i be a proicehockey player and i play in the bundesliga!" and she just" no" and wanted to turn around but he was following her and was then standing beside us with his i-phone and showed her pics of him on his facebook page! and she always "aha, mhm, ok!" and was real bored of him! a bit later he was going, but he came back for several times! and he wanted her mobile number, but she didn´t wanted to give him that, bc she has a boyfriend (a real sweet one, he is so great)
he didn´t let her alone and bug her so long till she gave him her number (she has thougth that this wasn´t her real one, bc she never give out her real number)! but she make a mistake and gave him her real number and when we drove home after, like aksel would said, dancing our ass off, she has a sms on her mobile with the text inside "well, i said it like this, you was a bit sweet"
what the hell! what is a bit sweet?
and what kind of bad pickup was this " don´t you know me? i be famous and a pro icehockey player"

well i think this pickup brought him some luck at an other girl, bc we saw him going out of the bar with an other girl and an half an hour later they came back, and she had first to correct her clothes and hairs, or it would be better when she had done this outside of the bar!

and well i had also a little real great flirt with and guy! and my friends always asked me with whom are you flirting, but i didn´t tell them it, bc that girl was with us who is always looking so bad to the guys i be flirting with!so i decided not to tell her where and who he is!

@ekaterina i can´t wait to hear about your ostsee report!

    ReplyDelete
  17. @corinna.
How silly he is ! The real cool guy never says he's a famous and a pro sports figure. But corinna, it's also true that there are always some girls who like to meet such guys and behave like flies on garbage. The silly meets the silly.

btw, I understand your friend mistakenly let him know of her real number, bc she was too confused and upset at that moment by his unusual saying !

    ReplyDelete
  18. @ekaterina yes your true the silly meets the silly!

my friend as her mobile number twice in her mobile, one time right and one time a bit changed!

    *1) Ostsee.

When my German friends first proposed me to go to Ostsee some years ago, I thought we were going to the lake in eastern part of Germany. ... Then, they showed me the map, and I knew that Ostsee is the Baltic Sea. ... ;-)))

Germany faces with the two seas, the North Sea ( Nordsee ) and the Baltic Sea ( Ostsee ). If I'm not wrong, corinna's dad is from Hamburg, so I think he is familiar with the both.

Nordsee and Ostsee are quite different. Nordsee is wilder and Ostsee is milder. And Nordsee is more salty and Ostsee is less salty. When I first visited Ostsee, it was Pelzerhaken which is near from Lubeck, and I was astonished to see several swans were there on the sea.

I visited Nordsee only once so far and it was Wangerooge which is a small island and we took the ship from Wilhelmshaven after we parked the car there and left it, bc there are only baggage transport cars allowed in Wangerooge. Nordsee is also famous for its tideland where we saw several wild seals resting on it. But it was windy and stormy in Nordsee, and it's normal there. We enjoyed flying a kite, but did not play in the sea.

Then, another year I visited koserow which is in Usedom which has the border with Poland, and the other year I visited Boltenhagen which is near Wismar. The both belonged to DDR in former times.

Then, last year I visited Travemunde which is near Lubeck.

But all those 5-time visits were only one night stay there, and I used to think I wanted to stay more.

And, this year it came true !
My friend took me to Howacht for 3 nights ! and I at last had the finest and the warmest weather in Ostsee !

In August 19th, my friend drove me to Howacht from Berlin, which took about 3,5 hours. We arrived there late afternoon, and enjoyed the walk in the beach and a bit in the sea. The next day we did the same as the previous day in the morning, and then drove to another beaches, Schonberg and Scharbeutz, and enjoyed walking. The third day in August 21st, we spent the nearly whole day in the beach in Howacht. The one nice thing about the sea in Germany is probably Strandkorb which is like a big basket which has eaves and we can also sit in. We rented Strandkorb for full 2 days.

    ... continued ...

    ReplyDelete
  20. @ekaterina yes my dad is from hamburg! and i for myself have to be honest i was never, as far as i know, on the ostsee!

i was on the north sea! in "friedrichskoog" and "norderney". to see the waddensea and when the water leaves and came back is a great natural spectacle!

i be happy @ekaterina that you had this year the time to be 3 days on the baltic sea!

but you wrote "I thought we were going to the lake in eastern part of Germany." which lake did you mean?

    ReplyDelete
  21. @All ladies !

    ... continued ...

The air temperature in Howacht during my stay was almost 30°C, but the sea water temperature was 18°C to 20°C, so it was colder than our sea around the country. But it didn't matter to me. I dipped in the sea 30cm above my knees every day. I walked on the beach, walked in the sea, repeated and repeated, and from time to time sat in our Strandkorb, and again walked on the beach and in the sea. That was so so fantastic, and just very comfortable !
And the weather was quite lovely, with not even one single " white wave " ! It never happens in the beaches around my country.

While walking on the beach and in the sea, I sometimes thought about many things for some minutes, and sometimes thought about nothing for some minutes, repeated & repeated. I spent days like that.
I thought about dana's shcedule to B, corinna's holidays in Garda, Nicoletta's Renoir skin and her coming holiday with her partner, Giffy's novel and shoes, Mel's new house and her late grandpa. ... and so on. and Aksel.
I also confess that I honestly felt how beautiful it is in Ostsee which will never see tsunami.

The reason that my previous visits to See in Germany was all one night visit is due to my friend's nice arrangement which connects the sightseeing and some hours in the beach. And I'd been much pleased with that, too, but I really wanted to spend at least 3 nights at the sea this time, so I am very satisfied. I also think I was lucky with such a nice weather.

But we had one dinner not in Howacht. We visited Lutjenburg which is about 10 to 15 minutes drive from Howacht. The restaurant " Bismarckturm " is a nice restaurant on the hill with a pretty view.

Those are my report on Ostsee.
See you tomorrow. I'm coming with *2) !

    Kisses & Hugs !
    Love !

    ReplyDelete
  22. @corinna.
simply I didn't know Ostsee is the Baltic Sea, corinna. and first I thought Ost means east and See means the sea and also the lake, so I thought it might be the lake in eastern part which I even did not know. ... ;-)))

and yes ! the sea water leaves and comes back. It's awesome. In fact the ship I took to Wangerooge could leave the port of Wilhelmshaven by the judgement of the captain who checked the sea.

  23. @corinna.

Thanks for the link ! corinna !
It's nice to visit there ! I only watched Seehund from the ship on my way to Wangerooge and also when I visited the aquarium in Tokyo last autumn.

Wangerooge is a small island and its lighthouse seems a bit famous. They use the new one now of course, but the older one still there for visitors to look at. and I looked at it and thought it marvellous. People could look 50km far with that old light. Just the high standard of technology already !
and there is a small airport which was bombed in April in 1945. ... ach, one more month, it could be survived... now it is for a small airplane.

btw, Seehund lives in northern sea around Japan, but sometimes, once in 5 years, maybe, one baby Seehund visits the sea or the river near Tokyo ! It lost the way, so it is so-called a strayed Seehund, and TV reports it every day. It's so funny. We always leave it as it likes and waits until it leaves. But lots of people go and watch it from the bridge and so on. We always welcome them, however we always want it to be united with mom again soon ! For these 5 or 6 years, it didn't visit us. Just miss it !

    ReplyDelete
  26. @ekaterina the old lighthouses are great! i like them too!

that is some special that all 5 years a baby seehund is visiting tokyo!

    *2) Bayreuth & Wirsberg.
Normally I stay in Bayreuth , but we were in a quite hard situation this year. One of my friend, Birgit, has been suffered from cancer and she's been under the chemotherapy for months.

At first, Birgit, her husband Uwe, Steffi from Berlin and I were to stay in Hotel Bettina in Hollfeld which is about 20 minutes drive from Bayreuth. This hotel is Birgit's favorite. But she suffered from the lung inflammation in July and did not feel if she was able to come to Bayreuth, and proposed Steffi and me that we had better book hotel in Bayreuth as usual. But it was too late to book rooms in Bayreuth, bc all were full. Then, Steffi had an idea to book rooms in other city near Bayreuth. That was Wirsberg. And anyhow, Birgit recovered and she could come to Bayreuth, but we decided to stay in Wirsberg which has the indoor swimming pool which Steffi wanted.

After Howacht, I spent a few days in Berlin, and I visited Magdeburg Cathedral one of the days. I think it was only the sightseeing occasion this time.
In August 26th, Steffi and me left Berlin for Bayreuth on the Autobahn nr.9 which goes between Munchen and Berlin. You might know who completed nr.9, so I would not write who he was. ... :-)))
I like to check the license number plates of the cars & vehicles on the Autobahn. As for the large and long vehicles, those from Poland have been increasing year by year.

We met unfortunately the Stau for 20km, but managed to arrive in Wirsberg, and as soon as we checked in, we drove to the Hotel bettina in Hollfeld to see Birgit. I was glad to see she looked very well.
It was very hot day around 34°C and the temperature would not go down even after the sunset.
The Franken district is a little similar to Bavaria, I think. It's a kind of the mountain area. The Hotel I stayed in Wirsberg is on the top of one of the hills. From the balcony of my room, I can enjoy the wide ranged & long ( far ) views.
After I came back from Hollfeld, that was about 21:00, the temperature was still very high. The hotel was not equipped with the air-conditioner and the air came from the opeded window was not so much help, bc it was so humid. I decided to wait until it became cooler. I recognized the thunder far over the sky. The sky has twinkled once in 5 minutes for hours. It was a very beautiful night view!

Steffi did not have the tickets and she planned to do another thing while I was in Festspielehaus, so I took the shuttle bus between the Festspielehaus and the hotel.

In 27th, when our bus arrived, the driver spoke to us, " This bus leaves this place 30 minutes after XXXXXXX. What do you guess he said ? I think " the performance " is correct, but he said, " This bus leaves this place 30 minutes after " the show " ". !!!!!
Is Bayreuth the show ? ... ;-))) but to my regret, I must say he may be right, bc the production of the recent Bayreuth has been often like that.

    ... continues ... later

    ReplyDelete
  29. @corinna.
corinna ! I just watched the TV news which reported Happy Feet ! Now I understood what you were talking about !
According to the report, he returned to the sea to the South Pole.

I have been almost blind in the news during holidays, and since I was back home in Tokyo, there have been almost only two news that are about the new government and the typhoon.

and also according to the news, GPS is attached to Happy Feet to make sure if he arrives the South Pole safely. I hope he will !

It is one of the problems all the opera theaters confront with. The performance in the theater means how to deliver the work effectively under the limited condition to the audience who are also quite familiar with other cultures, too. In fact, I'm very much fond of the vid of Aida and Traviata which @Nicoletta introduced to me some months ago. So, the theater people has become very nervous thinking the audience leaves the theater, and tries to do lots of things on the stage to keep on attracting the audience. As a result, music is often ignored and we have to see the too much contents on the stage which looks like a show. I think Bayreuth is one of the typical examples.

    But anyhow I had the tickets, and I think I enjoyed the 2 performamce of " Parsifal " ( 27th ) and " Tristan und Isolde " ( 28th ).
The both performances started at 16:00 and ended about around 22:15 with 2 intermissions each. The Pause ( intermission ) in Bayreuth is a little longer than any other theater. I always have a fun walking in pretty and elegant dress during the Pause talking with my friends, but this time different, bc Birgit had to save her energy. So, we booked the table for us for all 4 intermissions in the restaurant of the Steinberger Hotel next to the Festspielehaus and we enjoyed the typical Franken meals & dessert with them. They were so lovely evenings.

As I say the performance starts at 16:00, the shuttle bus leaves the hotel at 15:00, so I was back in my room at 13:00 for some little things to eat and get ready for the theater. Until that time, I spent time with Steffi after a big breakfast. In 27th, we went to Bayreuth, which is about 25 minutes drive from Wirsberg, to buy some things. It was raining in the morning and we had to give up a short trip around. But in 28th, we had a good weather, so we drove to Fichtelberg. There is a small lake there.

    Then, I post *Epilogue probablly tomorrow before the " sweet " *3). ..... :-)))))

Thank you very much for your detailed, and so much entertaining reports, Ekaterina!

Love your comment about visiting the city of Berlin. I understand it is quite interesting to discover some parts of the city alone.

Ostsee sounds to be a great place!

I like your stories about the seaside and the Strandkorb.

I have also Ostsee on my scedule, we went once to Nordsee and the Northern part of the Netherlands.

Nordsee and Ostsee are gorgeous, completely different to the seaside at Greece, Italy or Spain.

You mentionned it, Ekaterina, it is a special gift if you can enjoy sunny weather and high temperatures there!

I presume this year was extraordinary!

Your friends are very nice, you know them all very well, since 1999! Quite a long time.

Very sorry about Birgit. Hope so much she will recover totally. Cancer is a very nasty thing!

What you said about the modern way of interpreting the operas, I agree completely with you. The make a show of it! And sometimes it is getting more ridiculous than innovative!

So great music stays great music, and I am sure you had a very good time in Bayreuth, Ekaterina.

All in all, I am very facinated about your holidays. Really great holidays!!

Avaiting with pleasure your "Finish" Ekaterina!

Have a lovely day, enjoy Tokio and most of it, your happy family!

and i be sorry about your friend birgit! may i ask what kind of cancer she has?!

haha about the franken district! there is "oberfranken" "mittelfranken" and "unterfranken"

and they be a part of bavaria but no part of the mountain area or the alps!
ok in franken there are hills, but they aren´t so hight as the mountains!

glad you saw what i mean with "happy feet"

Thanks for the warm words for Birgit, Nicolettchen !
She sent me e-mail last night saying she's fine. She'll take the next chemotherapy in September 15th, and I hope it goes well.

Yes ! You can enjoy the various kind of the sea in Europe which also have various ways to enjoy them. The Nordsee on NL sounds nice !

and genau ! exactly ! The great music stays the great music without cheap tricks.

    @corinna.
Thanks for the link of Happy Feet, corinna !

and yes, Franken ( all 3 ) are the districts of many hills ! I've ever been once in Ochsenkopf some years ago. I took the chair lift to the summit and walked down later. I think Ochsenkopf is one of the highest mountain in Franken, but it's only about 1,000 high. ... ;-)))

Thank you for thinking of Birgit. She first suffered from the brest cancer some years ago and she recoverd. and then a new tumor sitting behind the brestbone near the aorta was found last June. It's on the lymphatic glands. But as it's near the aorta, the operation was not practical. and she has started the chemotherapy since then. We had a plan to take a trip to Prag together last August and I propose her to cancel it, but she said that there were some weeks between the chemotherapies and she wanted to spend those period as she liked, bc it would be good for her immune system. And we went, as you see. Bayreuth this year is the same as prag last year.
Birgit is from Berlin, but now lives in Luneburgerheide. Of course she visited Charite in Berlin early in this spring, but the hospital she goes is in Gilhorn or sometimes in Celle.

    *Epilogue.
Back in Berlin again in August 29th. Kein Stau this time. So we had a plenty of time, and from Autobahn nr.9 to nr.10. We visited the Eis Kaffee " Florida " before we arrived home in Spandau. " Florida " is the local famous Eis Kaffee. We had a big breakfast in the hotel Reiterhof Wirsberg at 09:00 that morning, so 3-kugel ice cream seemed enough for lunch, bc we were going to have the big dinner in the Japanese restaurant in the center district of Berlin at 19:00.
The Japanese restaurant " Daitokai " has been run by one of the most reliable Japanese soy sauce campany " Kikkoman " for nearly 30 years in Europa Center which is 5 minuten on foot from Zoologischer Garten Station. There is a small artificial ( of course ! ) stream, where several carps ( real ones ) are, is inside the restaurant and I'm always careful not to fall into it. ... ;-))) I didn't know about Japanese restaurant abroad, but when I took my German friends to " Daitokai " some years ago, they loved it, so I've taken them to there for recent some years. They say the meals are very good, and I think I can agree with them.

Then 2 days were left before my departure to Tokyo. Usually I spend lots of time for packing. So, this time also.

But I went to " ka De We " ( very famous departmtnet store in Berlin ) to buy one more souvenir for my baby sis. I say one more. Yes, I've bought plenty already...
I remember I once wrote my baby sis loves music. So I bought a music box covered by a small toy lamb who was sleeping. The melody is the Volkslied " Guter Mond,du gehst so stille ".

So, I'll post *3) tomorrow ! The both jingle and fanfare is welcome ! ... ;-)))

    Kisses & Hugs !

  38. Hello! to All! Hope Dana gets along alright in B. I'll be thinking of her and praying for the best outcome. Nice that she can visit and stay with her Aunt. I think I'll wait for the next chapter of the Dana and the Doctor novel until the Ekaterina travel blog is finished. It is all so good!

@Ekaterina My dear, glad you had such a nice trip. I join the others in saying I am enjoying reading your travel journal very much. Are you fluent in German also? Sounds like you had a great trip and enjoyed many diverse experiences. I can imagine you walking into the sea and thinking and not thinking. I hope you returned to Japan rested and that your Dad and Baby Sis got along just fine. Did you call her while you were gone? You deserved a nice vacation after all you've been through this spring.

@Corinna I'm glad you had a bit of a flirt. Good for you for not telling your friend that makes faces at your targets. Sorry your young friend had a bit of trouble that night, but she's safe now. She was only a little bit sweet because she didn't fall into his man trap. She could block the hockey players phone number? Have you looked him up since? Is he really famous? How nice can he be if he takes a random messy girl out to the parking lot for a half hour then returns to the bar...ugh!

@Nicoletta I have been dreaming about sexy booties ever since you mentioned it. I actually looked at some in stores over the weekend. I haven't heard about the job but I'm guessing I didn't get it. I sent a thank you for interviewing me letter, and placed a follow-up call but haven't heard anything. They might have had a hiring freeze? The economy is bad here still but had another down dip in July/Aug.

@Mel Did you add a spell checker to the comments? I don't remember having that before. I'm sure I've made lots of typos in the past but they're showing up now. Thanks! Hope you having fun at college...

Hope everyone has a great week. How do you think ALS altered that photo on his blog? It looks like a cartoon.

right. But I didn't know about it until 1999, and when I was recommended to go shopping to Ka De We by my friend's grandma, I just said, " K D We ? It sounds like KGB. When I pull the string which is the switch of the music box, the melody starts while the string is moving back into the sleeping lamb. *3)Munchen to Tokyo.

When I got on the board the airplane, the seat next to me was still empty. My seat was the aisle. Then he came. He didn't look a businessman, would rather like a student.
No conversation, not even a greeting at this moment. As a matter of fact, we were busy with the luggages and so on. He put a blanket on the floor in front ot him.

The first thing I do in the airplane of such a long flight for about 11 hours is to take off my contact lens and wear the eyeglasses. I proceeded with it. He was quite busy with the e-mails on the cell phone.

The drinks were served. I took a glass of orange juice and he took a glass of champagne.

    Take off at 15:45.

First he concentrated on looking at view from the window, and began sleeping leaning to the window side without a blanket.

The stable cruise started and CA started working. The hot wet towel, drinks, an hors d'oeuvre, followed by the main dish, and the dessert. BUT he kept on sleeping. I understand that some people prefers to sleep to enjoy the meals during the flight. I thought he simply belonged to those kind of people, and I've never bothered them.

When I finished the half plate of the cheese and fruits, he turned to the left and woke up. We looked each other for a while. I think he was still half sleeping, but I was awake !
He had beautiful and mild blue eyes, and it was like the first meet between Tristan & Isolde. ... ;-))) however there were no episodes between us before, of course.

    ... continues ...

    ReplyDelete
  51. @All ladies !

    ... continues ...

I spoke first. " The meals have been served. If you are not so hungry, I think you can have some cheese and fruits like this. "
Then CA came to us. She asked him about the meals, and he nodded.
I spoke again. " Excuse me, but are you a student ? " He said, " Ah, no, I'm trainee. "
with a shy mild smile. But I could not hear the next word after " trainee ". As you see, it's not quiet in the cabin, and before I asked " wie bitte ? " he continued to talk to me his family lived in Tokyo.

The CA brought him an hor d'oeuvre, and she noticed that the plates on my table were empty and proposed me to have some cake. and I did.
I think that CA was nice, bc we could have a conversation in situation both were eating something.

He told me he's lived in Tokyo for 4 years. I asked about the district. He said he lived in Hiroo some years ago and now his parents live in Roppongi. Unbelievable ! I once lived in Hiroo, and Roppongi is 2 stops from my house by U-bahn.
He also told me he lives like 3 months in NY, 4 months in Tokyo, 3 months in Paris, and so on.
He also told me. ... yes he also told me. It was a bit difficult for me to say something, bc he spoke and spoke. He was speaking looking at me from time to time, but but it was not quiet, furthermore, he didn't sometimes speak loud enough for listening. ... ;-)))
But I sometimes made a success to speak. ... :-))) I asked him where he was from. He said France. yes, he was not tall and not big, so I told him, " I wondered where you are from, bc you would not like German, not like American... but I would not think French. but you're French, ach so. " and he said smilingly " My father is German and my mother is Spanish-French. "
He also told me, he made a short visit to Tokyo in June and thought the Fukushima becomes much better condition. I asked him where he was in March 11 at the time the earthquake hapeened. He said , in Tokyo, correctly at the airport waiting for the flight back to Europe. We talked about the shakes, tusnami, the evacuation order by French government and so on.

He didn't finish the meals. The most were left. I felt sorry for that, bc he spoke very much.

Then the dessert came to him and he had a cup of coffee with sugar and milk. The CA served me another cup of tea with sugar and milk. Sugar ! I cannot have coffee & tea without sugar.
Then he showed me his left wrist. He wore a blue wrist band on which Japanese written, " One in heart "

    ... continues ...

  52. @All ladies.

    ... continues ...

He continued to speak. He said he loved Japan, and saying several reasons for that. He also told me about the places he's ever been in Japan. and one of them was Hakuba that is our famous ski resort. He said he went to Hakuba for skiing, so I promptly reacted saying " Great ! not snow board, but skiing ? " " yes, skiing. " with a pleasant smile. Then, he tried to tell me the place which he was most fascinated, but he couldn't remember the name, and gave me the hints, and I said, " Miyajima ". RIGHT.

He didn't take the cheese, only fruits. I said I loved fruits, adn he said the same.

I thought he could speak in Japanese, bc he's lived in Tokyo for 4 years, but he only shook his head slightly shyly for this question.
We talked about the fruits naturally, about the summer humidity in Tokyo, and so on.

But he did not ask me anything about me. So I tried to find the timing to speak and told him about my holidays. He's never been in Berlin.
and according to him, the best holiday location and the month was in Spain in September.

The CA was really nice. She did not interrupt our conversation with the duty free wagon.

I tried to ask him how many brothers & sisters he had, bc I loved to talk about my baby sis, but in vain. He almost spoke first.

Then I thought it was not at all elegant to continue conversation in the airplane. Naturally there was a break.

I slept a bit. He watched the video, and read the book.

2 hours before the landing, Breakfast was served. He, a cup of coffee with SUGAR and milk, and me a cup of tea with SUGAR and milk.
I first picked up the small bottle of honey and he picked up the small bottle of strawberry jam. I thought we could start a conversation again. BUT.

The bottle of honey would not be opened. It was so hard. The CAs were busy. I thought about asking him to open it, but I thought it better to wait until he noticed it. I waited, waited, and waited while struggling with it, and at last I gave it up, and a small bottle of honey was automatically added to the souvenir for my dad.

The breakfast was finished, and he continued to read the book.

We have not even known our names.

I thought about giving him my e-mail address with some " remark " after landing. I thought and thougth and the best one was about the fruits. When we talked about the fruits, there were some Japanese autumn fruits which he was not familiar with. He said he stayed in Tokyo until November.

    Landing at 10:00.

I handed it to him saying, " If you have any questions about Japanese fruits, please ask me without hesitation. " He said with a mild and warm smile, " Thank you. I'm sorry I don't have any name card right now. " and he put it into his wallet.

We stood up and started to take the luggage from the box from the ceiling. He first did it. I have not made it. He stood there looking at me with shy smile. I thought he could not open the honey bottle, so he could not help me it down, so I tried very hard to do it myself. and he looked at me with a smile of relief and left.

    That's all.
I conclude hs's so shy. But he is very much good looking.
But I think @Nicoletta. I had better go to the gym if I fail to become the fruits instructor. ... ;-)))

one little question, was you flying first, business or economy class?

i thought first class bc of the champagne and the tasty meal and bc it was so much meal!

that was so nice to read your travel story back home!

  55. @Ekaterina I loved your story very much, very well written. You had me in suspense the whole time. What would happen, I thought. Did he contact you yet? I think if I were writing the story I would change the ending. I am glad he had the wrist band on. I don't want you to become a fruit instructor either. I can't imagine not noticing or trying to help you with the honey or the luggage. My sons, as clueless as they are most days, would notice and help when needed. You give him the benefit of the doubt by saying he is shy. Wouldn't it be great if ALS was in that seat instead? He would open your honey, man handle your luggage, and give you a vitamin bear with your breakfast. Thanks for sharing. Kisses and Hugs back!

He has not sent me the e-mail yet. It's still summer here, though. ... ;-)))

    Right. The business class.
I had made flights in economy class and I had no idea to make flights in the business class. But one day, it was about one month before the departure to Germany, LH called me. It was in 2007.

The LH said, they started the advertising campaign in the limited period of that summer, and I could take the flight in business class in either way betweem Germany and Japan by paying some more which was very much cheaper than the normal price. And I got it. It was from Frankfurt to Tokyo in 2007.

Those days, I was nervous about the situation of my family due to my mom's illness, and I decided to take the next flight of 2008 in business class, bc I was very contented with it in 2007. So, I've made flights in business class since then. Anyhow I make a long flight only once a year.

But I think it was not the advertising campaign as LH said. I believe it was the billiards system. Every airline wants to fly with full and they have the close connection with the tourist companies which buy many tickets at one time and many of them in economy class.
I guess more tickets than they expected were sold in the flight I was going to take, and the individual passenger like me had to be moved to business class to make more seats in economy class.

It's my guess, but I think I'm right.
I experienced the billiards system again in 2009. It was from Tokyo to Munchen. All were normal at the check in counter, but at the gate, the LH received my business class bording pass and tore it up at the same time and said, " Ms. Yoshida, we welcome you today in the first class, and handed me the first class bording pass and I passed the gate. I really didn't understand what happened, but thought about another billiards system. Because LH has the 2 types of the aircraft, Frankfurt-Tokyo & Munchen-Tokyo, and it is smaller aircraft between Munchen and Tokyo than Frankfurt-Tokyo. I've also heard the tourist companies planned more package tours in business class. So I was pushed into the first class from the business class that time.

And, it's the caviare. The champagne is served in the both first class and business class, but the caviare is only for the first class. One of my friends also experienced the billiards system with Air France, and she told me it was the same. So the caviare is served with minced onion & egg, and the thin sliced baguett in the first class of Air France and LH, though I'm not sure about the other airlines.
I think such a billiards system happens only once per one person in life. btw, " billiards system " is " my " words and I think there is another term for such a situation, but I don't know what to call it. ... ;-)))

    Kisses & Hugs !
    Love !

  61. @corinna.
I think 3-4-3, however it depends on the aircraft.
We have 2 daily flights to Frankfurt and also 2 daily flights to Munchen from Tokyo. So totally 4 daily flights from Tokyo to Germany plus some flights from other big cities in Japan.

The 2 flights between F & T is shared by A380-800 and B777-300 and 2 flights between M & T is by A340-600 and B777-300. I take (A) aircraft, bc the departure time happens to be good for me.
B787 looks nice and I think B777 will be someday replaced by B787.

btw, corinna, when I made the flight to Frankfurt in A380 last year, I was too surprised to almost forget to lock the door in the lavatory, bc there was a window there !

Thank you for the great information about your flight with the blue-eyed young man.

Yes he had obviously not the best "Kinderstube"!

You might know what is Kinderstube, Ekaterina, it means the education at home when somebody is a little child.

Ok, if you really come together you would have to teach him to be a bit more helpful or thinking also about other people needs!

Though it was only for a while we talked together, I imagine that his dad's occupation is something special requiring lots of travels and the years long stay abroad, and he has been raised by such busy parents. Many parents give the best or better Kinderstube to their child, but some does not or cannot, and his parents didn't seem to do it enough for their son.

  65. @Ekaterina You are right. He can be good looking and speak 4 languages but if you're not a gentlemen then what's the point? I'm glad you were in business class, for such a long flight it's much more comfortable. I think we might call your upgrade to first class like winning the lottery, so billards is close! LOL. My husband sometimes gets upgraded because he is a platinum level frequent flyer. He's almost diamond. He flaunts it, but I'm not impressed! haha! Sometimes I think the airlines will upgrade you if you are dressed professionally and look like you belong in first class. I'm glad for you. What was the movie?

@Nicoletta I am very happy to learn about Kinderstube. I think we call it manners and etiquette. Or we say, "Chivalry is not dead." I tried to teach my sons to pay attention to what was going on around them when they're in public. I think they turned out very well even if they are younger than Ekaterina's mystery man.

@Corinna Good I'm glad you had a nice flight to the US. I hope it was a good vacation, and the US people were nice. My sister-in-law lives in LA and she says its now rattlesnake season. Ugh! They don't ever tell anybody about that. They just talk about all the sunshine, surfing, and warm weather. Someone she knows was bitten by a rattlesnake on a jogging path. Good to know about the car, I thought you might have it already. Enjoy your little devil horns while there is still time.

Have a great day. More soon.

Perhaps the poor guy had always different Nannys and then he was abroad in different schools for let's say uper-class people.

So he didn't have the chance to get well educated from parents or even grand-parents (manners, heart building and every day politness) you simply learn at home with your dearest. Just an idea!

If he sends you an e-mail Ekaterina, perhaps you could check out more about him! LOL

Definitly it is a necessity in an eventually future to aks him directly to help you:

Could you please do my a favour ...

    or

Would you mind to give me a hand ....

Must say, if the mistery- man has the courrage to contact you, in my opinion he deservse a little chance to become a real gentlement, don't you think so, Ekaterina?

Congratulations to your well educated sons, Giffy!

I am sure you are a great mother, strict but the heart on the right place, as we say!

And also a big compliment to your husband, it is good that he does not push you because of a new job.

I quite like generous man and furthermore I think you are also very busy at home with household, cooking, inviting people at home, etc.

That is very often hard work!

The point is clear, you would like to go under the people and would like to get new inputs, that's very understandable.

As you mentionned, it is useful to have an easy personality, so you can take it like it comes. That's good.

Next time when I pass by the Agent Provocateur I will stop to see what they have.

Last time I was only astonnished that the shop assistant wear still this ugly rose red aprons, I do absolutely not like them! HaHa

  68. I went back to the beginning of the summer on this blog. I decided to go back and get the earlier chapters of Dana and the Doctor all on one document so I don't make any more mistakes. Some chapters are really short. I don't know why you guys encouraged me to write, it's just the silliest thing ever written. If it makes you laugh I can see why, it's just ridiculous. But if the novel gave you some entertainment then I'm glad. I will work on it again now that I have it all together. Sort of fun to see what everybody was doing in June, July, etc. The summer went by so fast.

@Dana and Corinna It's very clever of you two to put all the chapters together from the start. Tricky to go back after the fact...

@Nicoletta We don't actually have an AP store. I've seen them in CA, but I doubt they have one in Michigan. To be honest I do like to be home taking care of everyone. They are all very spoiled but hopefully good citizens. I worry about becoming boring though...

I'll be back with the next chapter soon. I need to finish it before Ski season starts. Hope Dana pops in with an update!

  69. @All

I started now to sort out some clothes/shoes for my holidays.

My partner has his special nice clothes for the holidays, because I was totally fed up to look for clean things when I should look for the luggage!

Man's clothes are not so complicated anyway. It is mainly the question of well-ironed shitrs (long sleeves or short sleeves!)

Tomorrow I will get the cosmetic and some medical things ready.

It is easy because we travel only for 6 days, but the first evening/night and the 5th evening/night we will travel by ferry.

So I have to prepare a so called "ship luggage" with the important things for evening/night and the other day! That is quite a challenge for me!

So we will se our "big" luggage only on the 2nd evening! We are lucky in the middle of the holiday we stay for 3 days in the same hotel!

I is better to do a ship luggage because we tested it out on an other travel, it is nearly impossible to have big luggage on a ferry. The rooms are not made for that, and there are always huge crowds of people everywhere.

I am very much looking forward to our vacation because we will see a lot, and travelling over the night on the ferry is funny too.

I presume we will again take a seat in the first class restaurant in the evenings, much better there. Everything will be served and the atmoshpere is great!

The room are not so spectacular but for 1 night it does not matter. Anyway it will be a short night and an early wake-up call!

The orientation on a ferry is also a special thing, because every floor and the ways to the rooms look almost the same!

Normally we look around to find already a couple to join us for the dinner in the evening, so it is more fun!

Yes, I am already exited! Hope we have nice company during the holidays!

Weather will be fine, I have to check it, but I presume it is very warm there! Again summer time, blue sea, sun, and nice Italian food.

Wish you a good afternoon/nice evening and a good sleep!

    See you!

  70. Hi Giffy

Did not yet see your comment!

Of course your novel is great Giffy, so much fun!

I like you mixed the real things and the fantasy about the docter and Dana.

It was so much untertaining if suddenly episodes of the Akselized friends lives as well as short visits were mentionned in the novel too.

Go a head Giffy, you have a lot of talent and a great portion of humour!

Perhaps they have an Agent Provocateur in Bukarest?

Wish you a great day, Giffy!

    ReplyDelete
  71. TYVM You guys are very kind.

@Nicoletta I hope you and your partner will have a wonderful trip and meet interesting people to have dinner with on the ferry. I think you do the most romantic trips. I love to people watch when I'm on vacation, do you? I like to figure out how they're related, who is who. Have a great holiday. I hope the weather is perfect!

@Corinna You should take a sea plane to Alaska, US. Are there really tents on the top of the cruise ships? I always think of Alaska as being too cold to visit. It's interesting the US is getting ready to commemorate 10 years since our Sept 11 destruction of the World Trade Center in NYC. My Mom was in Alaska on a cruise that day and couldn't get home, because they closed the airport, and hotel were also closed because it was the end of tourist season and beginning to snow. She was stranded for 3 days in the airport. She was fine, luckily, but she no longer enjoys flying.

  72. @Giffy.
I don't watch the movies so often during the flight, bc the screen is small. ... ;-)))

My dear Giffy, we are all entertained by your novel. I love every situation, and description of Dana & doctor very much. And as @Nicoletta says, we're excited to find " the sudden involvement " with us ! I really cannot wait for the next chapter, Giffy !

Talking about the rattlesnake, yes, the US is the large country and has many populations including many kinds of creature. I don't think we have the rattlesnake in Japan, but another kind which also has the poison, however not in Tokyo.

I think the family education is the most important for kids, bc it helps them buid up the personality. Your sons are very happy to have been born to you and your husband, bc they can enjoy the good communication with people through their lives.

Sept 11 comes on Sunday. 10 years have passed since then, and all people in Japan thinks and talks about it this week. Sept 11 is the special. And this year, we especially feel much deeper about the family who lost the ones they love in Sept 11, 2001.
Still many has been missing in NYC, and still about 5,000 people missing here in Japan. Even if the cause is different like Terror and Tsunami, there is no difference about the sorrow. I think it's impossible to confirm the death until they meet the body.
btw, I feel sorry your mom for the hard days in Alaska then, but it's great she came back home safely.
I was in Berlin in Sept 11, 2001, and it was one day before I left for Tokyo. It was raining and very cold in Berlin. The grand parents of my friend worried about the situation in Frankfurt airport, but it was quite normal for my flight.

I'm going to take 2 nights trip to Sapporo with my dad on next Monday, Sept 12.

I'll check the blog very often to find the new chapter starts, Giffy !

    Kisses & Hugs !
    Love !

I think 6- day holiday is good enough for you to travel in Europe, Nicolettchen, bc you live in Europe, so you have much opportunity to make plans to carry out, in fact you had a marvellous holiday in Italy some months ago !

Even if one over night, the travel in the ship is really fantastic !!! and I'm sure you and your partner will have a pleasant dinner with the nice couple like you.
I'm very much looking forward to your report, Nicoletta !

Though it's only once, I had one over night trip in the Ferry. It was the first night of the senior high school travel and I was 16. It was the big group of nearly 500 people of my high school. In such a case, the school normally rents the whole ferry ship, but the school official didn't do that, so there were some honeymoon couples, too.....
Some honeymoon couples & 500 teens in the same ship for one night. ... ;-))) I think you can easily imagine what it was like. ... :-)))
But I expect you enjoy the romantic night, and further more fun during the days.

agree. The men's clothes is easy to do. .....

Hope you enjoy the packing, my dear Nicoletta !
    Kisses & Hugs !
    Love,

    @corinna.
My mystery man has not sent me e-mail yet, but I think @Giffy and @Nicoletta are right. It's just wasting time to give " Kinderstube " to 20's man. And some of the upper class people are less sensitive, I suppose.

btw, thanks for the link of Aleuten, corinna !
For most Japanese, the image of Aleuten is the volcano, earthquake, and for the older people " Attu ".
Aleuten is the great nature itself, but I think it's real adventure to spend time on the deck of the cruise ship ! but the tent must be blown away ! and so long as I know, the highest tsunami recorded is in Aleuten and it was 54 m. ... however more than 100 years ago.
But I think it's safe if you listen to the guide's advices.

WIll you visit the bar this weekend ?

    Kisses & Hugs !
    Love !

Thanks very much for the links about the Aleuten, Corinna!

That would be a real extreme travel, Corinna! Adventure poor!

You should take a Norwegian crew with you, because of the rough and cold weather, they are used to it! LOL

We travel on Monday, 19.9. from Zurich over Milano, Monaco, Cote d'Azur to Toulon, there we take the Corsica Ferries.

Then we cross 1 day through Corsica to meet hopefully the nicest places and to enjoy some impressions of beautiful Corsica.

Then again we take the Ferry, only for 1 hour to get from Bonifacio (the most southern city of France) to Sardinia/Italy.

    Then holiday can start!

3 days to discover Sardina. We will have a guide and make every day long excursions to profit from the aera. We will also go to Costa Smeralda and Maddalena Island.

At the end of the vacation, we take again the Corsica Ferry, travel back over Livorno, Versilia, cross Viareggio and Lido di Camaiore (nice places for holidays at the sea) afterwards Genua, Apeninin, and last but not least, we cross the Gotthard (which is also a massive mountain area!)

We choosed this holiday because we where so happy with the South Tirol and liked it once more, cosy, warm weather, good food and the wild Corsica must be very different to Sardinia with the very blue beaches, and I love Islands!

Yes Giffy, I like romantic travel and romantic places!!

Your very sweet descrption about the Ostsee made me so much curious to go there, Ekaterina, perhaps for next year's vacation??

I like the rough and windy sea too, would like to see the beautiful Hanse cities like Lübeck. My travel agency offers a nice arrangment including Island Rügen.

I am only having 1 wish, it should be so mild and warm like you had the chance to enjoy the Ostsee, Ekaterina!!

So much fun, must have been just great!

Sometimes I am thinking of organizing life in general and choosing a partner (also for the life, marriage, establishing a family, etc.)

Love is great, but on the otherhand you need more than that, so important to take the right decision to get not deeply unhappy later on!

@Corinna Now I can say have a great weekend and happy hunting! :) I think you should go to Norway instead of Alaska!

OK I need to get in writing mode. Do you think Dana packed a swimsuit in her bag, or should she take the mineral bath au naturel?

  82. @giffy and all others yes there are tents on the "deck" of the ship, bc with this ship are going a lot of ppl and they have to less cabines for all ppl! you have to fix your tents so they will not blow away bc of the wind/storm, but you will have a great view in the morning and in the night/evening as one of the first ones!

@nicoletta thanks for the link of hans! malcesine is so a nice place to be!

in viareggio was my brother last weekend for a wedding, or better say in a village near there, and my neighbours are in viareggio!

Nicolettchen ! Thank you for showing us the beautiful itinerary of your holiday ! I've started enjoying it even before you start it ! ... :-))) !!! I'm checking it on the map.

and also thanks for the link of Hans on Lago di Garda ! Very lovely pic ! which can kill me. ... ;-)))

Yes, the Hansestadt is worthwhile to visit. I've been in Lubeck and Wismar.
btw, Insel Rugen was the first choice for us this year, but we could not book the hotel, bc all were full. So I missed the white cliff, so the next time !
I really think your travel agency has the excellent plans and I believe you'll enjoy the next one also, and I recommend you to visit the Hansestadt and Ostsee. It may be strange to talk about the next holiday, but I bought the magazine " Dunenseit OSTSEE " and it's on my desk now. It's ISBN 978-3-9813479-5-1 . just for info !

and, I think it true. It's so important to make the right decision not to get deeply unhappy " later on " ! In Japan, it is said that love makes you blind. That means not all the couple misunderstand the time stops as it is and never think about what's going on " later ".

I confess, Nicolettchen, btw. We were the bad teens. ... ;-))) The teachers noticed we were with some honeymoon couples and upsetted about it. Of course we all were not bad, though. ... ;-)))
The teachers told us to be good and to be kind. Funny ! We were already 16 or 17 years old. We didn't need to be instructed like that.
And ... We were so good and so kind.

At night, some of us stayed on the deck naturally to enjoy looking at the sea, although it was totally black at night. A couple appeared on the deck and walked together to where not so many students were. And one of the boy students approached them and said, " Excuse me please, but shall I take a photo of you ? " yes, he was good. But he made a plan with his friends. When he had the camera in his hand, his friends ( all boys ) were already in the back of the couple without being noticed by them. When he took the pic, there were some boys in the back making the funny poses and faces. ... The couple politely said " thanks " to him and walked away. They believed the photo would be romantic helped by a good student, but I hope they laugh at it together later on !

Hope you enjoy packing ! and hope you have a nice weekend ! my dear Nicoletta !

    Love !

I vote for mineral bath au natural. bc time seems to flow slowly.

I wouldn't think it proper to say to have a nice weekend to you this time, bc this weekend is really special especially for American people. So I wish you have a solemn, but hopeful weekend. We are all with you, my dear Giffy !

btw, I agree with @Giffy & @Nicoletta. The best I think is that you join the Norwegian group when you take the Aleuten cruise. As for the tent, the material of the cloth must be strong against the cold temperature. How does your dad about the Aleuten cruise in the tent ? ... ;-))) I think he comes with you.

Hope you enjoy getting ready for the travel !

  86. Dana and the Doctor

    Chapter 11

Dana was trying to keep her eyes closed very tight and concentrate on what the Doctor was telling her. He had gone to a lot of trouble to arrange for a private session at the mineral springs. Usually it was closed to the public but he had explained that the caretaker was one of his old patients and the access to the mineral springs was easy to arrange. It certainly didn’t hurt that it was nearly dark in the springs.
“Keep your hips up and then just relax, float.” He was standing in the water right by her side. She felt the gentle pressure of the doctor’s hands under her back and thigh keeping her afloat. She made little circles with her hands in the water. She was thinking this might be uncomfortable if the Doctor wasn’t such a gentleman. The warm water certainly did feel good on her skin, such a perfect temperature.
She felt like a mermaid to have her hair fan out on the water. She was trying not to think about the fact that she was completely au natureal. It was natural, of course, to be with a doctor nude since he had seen it all before. Besides, he really was no longer her medical doctor! She really should have her head examined. Honestly who goes swimming with someone you’ve just met even if it were for purely medicinal purposes. She had thought he might wear some brightly colored or crazy Palm tree swim trunks. Then she noticed he was also undressed and unconcerned. He was Nordic after all, a Viking. It was not a big deal to him. In the back ground she heard him say, “Be buoyant. Relax.”

  87. Dana and the Doctor
    Chapter 11 continued

She was thinking “Thank God, I’m not an American. They are such prudes.” She had surprised herself by just completely gone for it, told herself just to undress and walk all the way into the water. She felt very brave doing that, and not shy in the least. She hoped she would continue to be brave.
“You’re doing it! You’re floating.” He said from some distance away. He had actually let her go and was floating himself nearby. She was so surprised and pleased with herself that she had actually learned the first step in swimming. She could keep herself afloat. She thought this was amazing.
She said, “My first success at trying to swim! This calls for a celebration! ”
In two strokes the doctor swam over to her. “I agree!” And he gave her a quick kiss on the lips. She smiled and said, “Hm, tastes like minerals.” They both laughed and he said, “Well, try this one!” It is true what they say. You never forget your first kiss. His kiss was so soft, warm and electric. Dana could have kissed him like this all day and all night. Maybe she would. She didn’t have to work the next day. Even if she did her boss would understand, this was the best she had felt in a long time. She felt so secure in his arms that she thought there was no way she was leaving this mineral bath until she was good and wrinkled like a prune. She really did forget why she ever needed to visit a doctor in the first place. After a lovely swim and several more kisses, they exited the pool and toweled each other off.
He actually giggled a little, “That tickles!” And he gave her the most dazzling smile. He said, “You look very sweet with a towel wrapped around your hair.”
She said, “I’ve always thought you were handsome in just a towel. “ He said, “What?” She said, “Oh, I mean this is the first time for lots of things!”
“What shall we do now my darling Dana? It’s entirely up to you.”
