Death Cookies
I'm thinking the Death Cookies need a drink named after them or I need to make a cookie recipe for them. What do you think girls? Drink or cookie?
Here another out of topic comment, I am still under shock about the sudden death of the singer Steve Lee of Hard Rock Band Gotthard. Whole Switzerland is very said.

@Nicoletta I'm very sorry about Steve Lee. Good looking guy, he was at least enjoying his dream of riding a Harley through the US. I'm so sorry he didn't get to enjoy more time and he was way too young. He has a beautiful voice that will continue on forever. I'm sorry it happened in the US, don't know what the fascination is with Las Vegas, NV? It is a dirty dangerous town for sure...

@Dana I hope Nicoletta won't mind me answering you. I looked it up online last week and this is what I think happened. At least ten people were with Steve Lee and they were doing a Harley trip across the US and started in LasVegas. Very early in the trip there was a rain storm and they stopped to put on their rain gear and a truck crashed into them. So sad. I'm sorry it happened in the US.

I know how much you are into Morten and his songs. So you can imagine how it is. Big shock!
I saw Steve Lee just once in a concert (I think it was 1996, last century). But I heard him very often on the radio and also on TV, they brought a lot of Gotthard. Gotthard are kind of national heros. These days, I had a lot to work up on Youtube. And I became even more said, because his voice grow so much and he really died on the top of his career. And all the new videos created from the fans.
A lot of fans are a bit confused, sorry to all, me too.
@Nicoletta God, I don't want even imagine that something bad may happen to Morten! I'm already very sad bc they'll split up in december, it would be terrible to know he's not fine in a way or other! I understand your feelings very well! And Steve had a great voice!
@ dana baby, dont worry about A-ha!! They have said serveral of times that they split up and so on but it has never happened. LOL I have a feeling it won't be long before the next album!! LOL

I can't imagine the snow right now, here is was a splendid summer day! It was incredible hot and we had a beautiful blue sky! And AM told me it was snowing in Tromso!!!
To be honest I like how the weather is these days! I like snow but I don't like when is very, very cold! I'm a bit undecided, right? Haha! Just like about that two hot guys! :)))

@Nicoletta Sorry - Correction I think there were 21 people in the group on 12 motorcycles. I listened to Steve Lee & Gotthard all day yesterday. I liked the Led Zepplin cover songs and Mountain Mama song too! Best to think of him the way he lived his life, seems like he really enjoyed all of it!
You are right Giffy, I tried yesterday 3 times to wright about that, and every time that I switched over to Youtube to add a song, I made obviously a mistake and lost my text. LOL

You will see, that also a big love story had brutal end. Steve & Brigitte were since 8 years a incredebly happy couple. They were just made for eachother. Very said too.

What do you think, something with coconut would perhaps be nice? Also eventually, some other kind of small pieces of nuts inside, would suit. Anyway, I think the cookie should be chrunchy, but not to sweet. What's about a drop of alcohol?
You are the expert, Mel, I am awaiting with pleasure your creation. Good luck!
1 cup butter 3/4 cup granulated sugar 3/4 cup packed light brown sugar 1 teaspoon vanilla extract 2 eggs 2-1/4 cups flour 1 teaspoon baking soda 1/2 teaspoon salt 1 cup milk chocolate chips 1 cup white chocolate chips 1 cup chopped macadamia nuts
1. heat oven to 375F
2. beat butter, granulated sugar, brown sugar & vanilla in large bowl with mixer until creamy. Add eggs; beat well. Stir together flour, baking soda & salt; gradually add to butter mixture,beating until well blended. Stir in chocolate chips & nuts.
3. Drop by teaspoons onto ungreased cookie sheet. Bake 8 to 10 minutes or until light browned. Cool slightly; remove from cookie sheet to wire rack. Cool completely. Makes about 5 dozen cookies.
Mel,I'm not sure how to do it.I think you might notice I've been trying several times for months. I think I catch my " lucky hand " soon, but not so soon. Anyhow, I try it again now.

The race courses are already in winter, meanwhile our life still stays in autumn, and the season of the series of the citrus fruits has started in my country.
Aksel opens the office in the mountains in winter, and it looks very safe. Because the area near the mountains in autumn in my country is very dangerous. Bears. ..... It's true. A few or sometimes several people living near the mountains are assaulted by bears nearly everyday and it continues until they start hibernation. Off course I know it by the TV news and I'm safe in Tokyo, though I feel pity for the both of them. But there are some funny things. The bear often comes into the hospital ( want to see a doctor ? ... ), and the day before yesterday it came into the nursing home ( how old is it ? ... ), and it came into the junior-high school ( want to study ? ... ) yesterday. We have such a funny & serious autumn in the mountain area.

Being far from the race course, I always imagine how and what it is like. The alpine ski is just magnificent sports, however it is not so popular in my country, probably and mainly due to our climate. But I enjoy watching it and hearing about it !

I'll tell you: it comes from England's Royal Court and it means Fornication Under Consent of King!!! Those that weren't members of the royal family had to ask king's consent to make sex and kids with their partners and then the king sent an advertisement with FUCK and the couple had to put it on the door during the "game"! LMAO

Yes, it started from the very funny comment from Nicoletta. Do you remember the video Aksel counted sheep in NZ while he could not open his office on the snow ? Then back to Europe and about to start training in Austria, but he could not open his office on the snow again for the first few days. And Nicoletta didn't forget to write to Aksel " Don't say you count the ibex. " And Nicoletta and I talked about the ibex, as I'm not familiar with ibex.
corinna, I looked some animals on the slope from the window of the Seilbahn to Zugspitze last year. Do you think they are ibex ?

@ Ekaterina Yes, it's snowing here! Alot of snow has made it to the ground! LOL It usaually start snowing at this time every year so it's not a big surprise. This is how it is when you live way up north! But like you said, it's very peaceful and it's so beautiful. I really do envy you the hot wether though! @Nicole really ? so, it's almost the same here. I think every sports needs the hero or heroine to become popular and we have none in the alpine ski, so nobody takes an interest in it. I only heard there was one Japanese silver medalist in the downhill ( who is the latest silver medalist ? ... ) in the winter Olympics, but it was 50 or 60 years ago !
Then, during the Vancouver Olympics, the summary of " today's result " was broadcasted every day by the all key stations of TV, and one day I heard the incredible report read by the announcer. He said, " ... and the gold medal went to Aksel Lund Svindal of Switzerland ". OMG !

@am The hot weather in summer may be nice if the humidity is NOT high, but our summer has the both high temperature and high humidity. It is cruel to live. If it looks peaceful in our summer, it is because people cannot move due to exhaustion. ..... But as you say, I really think you have a beautiful and very peaceful time most of the year.
And there is one more undesirable thing in our summer. It is the temperature difference between the indoors and the outdoors. It is comfortable and sometimes a bit too cool inside thanks to the air-conditioner, but no air-conditioner outdoors...., so we have to experience the temperature difference many times a day. As the result, many people suffers from imbalance of the autonomic nervous system. But we cannot live without air-conditioner.
am, from one winter to another sounds just nice. And I hope you'll enjoy the next summer. I suppose summer in up north is pretty fresh.

@Nicole Well,a few of our athletes are cocky, but most of them are not. And there is a reason for them not to be so. They think about sponsor and their future career.
The most popular sports in my country may be the baseball, and the winter sports itself is not so popular, I think. There are many people who are fond of watching it, but not doing it. And their ieterest is quite limited to a few sports, such as the figure skate and the nordic jump. yes, nordic. For most of us, the image of the winter sports in Norway is the nordic ski, and they think the alpine ski belongs to Switzerland, Austria, Germany, Italy, France, and the North America, that is, Canada and your country. So, it's so fun for me to read ALS blog and finally visit here Mel's. Let's enjoy it !

@ekaterina I always watch the figure skating and it seems that the Japanese athletes are always so amazing! I have a friend who's been skating for a while, she's really good in my opinion, so maybe some day she'll get to the Olympics and get to wear the Japan flag!!! :D

@Nicole Yes, I think they have been doing well for the recent some years. Thanks for your kind words for them, Nicole ! But I suppose the US has been always in the top group, and the men's gold medalist ( I'm not sure the spell of his name, but I can pronunce it now )in Vancouver is really great. He didn't try the quadruple, but he showed us the best performance in men's figure skating in its history.
So, you have a friend who is among the promising figure skater ! How nice !!!
@ekaterian you have to zoom real heavy into the card then mösern shows up! and no i never was there but i passed it by 3 times i think now, and next week on my way to sölden i also have to pass it!

Mosern is located on your way to Solden ? pretty nice ! I visited Mosern in summer and I imagined it must be also very beautiful in winter. already covered with snow ? .....
The grandparents of one of my German friends have been staying in Mosern every January, because they didn't like the weather in Berlin in January. But they become too old to travel the distance, so none of her family comes to Tirol for years, then she took me there to show me the slope she first learnt how to ski.

@Nicoletta Sorry - Correction I think there were 21 people in the group on 12 motorcycles. I listened to Steve Lee & Gotthard all day yesterday. I liked the Led Zepplin cover songs and Mountain Mama song too! Best to think of him the way he lived his life, seems like he really enjoyed all of it!

ReplyDelete1 cup butter
3/4 cup granulated sugar
3/4 cup packed light brown sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
2 eggs
2-1/4 cups flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 cup milk chocolate chips
1 cup white chocolate chips
1 cup chopped macadamia nuts
1. heat oven to 375F
2. beat butter, granulated sugar, brown sugar & vanilla in large bowl with mixer until creamy. Add eggs; beat well. Stir together flour, baking soda & salt; gradually add to butter mixture,beating until well blended. Stir in chocolate chips & nuts.
3. Drop by teaspoons onto ungreased cookie sheet. Bake 8 to 10 minutes or until light browned. Cool slightly; remove from cookie sheet to wire rack. Cool completely. Makes about 5 dozen cookies.

The race courses are already in winter, meanwhile our life still stays in autumn, and the season of the series of the citrus fruits has started in my country.
Aksel opens the office in the mountains in winter, and it looks very safe. Because the area near the mountains in autumn in my country is very dangerous. Bears. ..... It's true. A few or sometimes several people living near the mountains are assaulted by bears nearly everyday and it continues until they start hibernation. Off course I know it by the TV news and I'm safe in Tokyo, though I feel pity for the both of them. But there are some funny things. The bear often comes into the hospital ( want to see a doctor ? ... ), and the day before yesterday it came into the nursing home ( how old is it ? ... ), and it came into the junior-high school ( want to study ? ... ) yesterday. We have such a funny & serious autumn in the mountain area.

Being far from the race course, I always imagine how and what it is like. The alpine ski is just magnificent sports, however it is not so popular in my country, probably and mainly due to our climate. But I enjoy watching it and hearing about it !

Yes, it started from the very funny comment from Nicoletta. Do you remember the video Aksel counted sheep in NZ while he could not open his office on the snow ? Then back to Europe and about to start training in Austria, but he could not open his office on the snow again for the first few days. And Nicoletta didn't forget to write to Aksel " Don't say you count the ibex. " And Nicoletta and I talked about the ibex, as I'm not familiar with ibex.
corinna, I looked some animals on the slope from the window of the Seilbahn to Zugspitze last year. Do you think they are ibex ?

@ Ekaterina Yes, it's snowing here! Alot of snow has made it to the ground! LOL It usaually start snowing at this time every year so it's not a big surprise. This is how it is when you live way up north! But like you said, it's very peaceful and it's so beautiful. I really do envy you the hot wether though! Here in Norway we haven't had the best wether this summer so it feels like we almost have gone from one winter to another, Ekaterina!

@ekaterina oh for sure it can be a ibex you see on the zugspitz or maybe a "gams" to you know the bavarian "gamsbart"? this is the thing the bavarian tradtion has on there hats!

I think every sports needs the hero or heroine to become popular and we have none in the alpine ski, so nobody takes an interest in it.
I only heard there was one Japanese silver medalist in the downhill ( who is the latest silver medalist ? ... ) in the winter Olympics, but it was 50 or 60 years ago !
Then, during the Vancouver Olympics, the summary of " today's result " was broadcasted every day by the all key stations of TV, and one day I heard the incredible report read by the announcer. He said, " ... and the gold medal went to Aksel Lund Svindal of Switzerland ". OMG !

The hot weather in summer may be nice if the humidity is NOT high, but our summer has the both high temperature and high humidity. It is cruel to live. If it looks peaceful in our summer, it is because people cannot move due to exhaustion. ..... But as you say, I really think you have a beautiful and very peaceful time most of the year.
And there is one more undesirable thing in our summer. It is the temperature difference between the indoors and the outdoors. It is comfortable and sometimes a bit too cool inside thanks to the air-conditioner, but no air-conditioner outdoors...., so we have to experience the temperature difference many times a day. As the result, many people suffers from imbalance of the autonomic nervous system. But we cannot live without air-conditioner.
am, from one winter to another sounds just nice. And I hope you'll enjoy the next summer. I suppose summer in up north is pretty fresh.

Well,a few of our athletes are cocky, but most of them are not. And there is a reason for them not to be so. They think about sponsor and their future career.
The most popular sports in my country may be the baseball, and the winter sports itself is not so popular, I think. There are many people who are fond of watching it, but not doing it. And their ieterest is quite limited to a few sports, such as the figure skate and the nordic jump. yes, nordic. For most of us, the image of the winter sports in Norway is the nordic ski, and they think the alpine ski belongs to Switzerland, Austria, Germany, Italy, France, and the North America, that is, Canada and your country. So, it's so fun for me to read ALS blog and finally visit here Mel's. Let's enjoy it !

Yes, I think they have been doing well for the recent some years. Thanks for your kind words for them, Nicole ! But I suppose the US has been always in the top group, and the men's gold medalist ( I'm not sure the spell of his name, but I can pronunce it now )in Vancouver is really great. He didn't try the quadruple, but he showed us the best performance in men's figure skating in its history.
So, you have a friend who is among the promising figure skater ! How nice !!!

Mosern is located on your way to Solden ? pretty nice ! I visited Mosern in summer and I imagined it must be also very beautiful in winter. already covered with snow ? .....
The grandparents of one of my German friends have been staying in Mosern every January, because they didn't like the weather in Berlin in January. But they become too old to travel the distance, so none of her family comes to Tirol for years, then she took me there to show me the slope she first learnt how to ski.
