  3. @ekaterina for me it is hard to describe the race i just have one word for it!
    and this is: wohoooo
i can do this also in some more words. if he wouldn´t had attacked in the first run so much and had done that one mistake then he would be maybe on the first place! but second is also good! and now he is the leader in the overall and that is awesome!

btw ekaterina do you know this view on the second camera?

Sorry, I'm not able to describe the race bc of many reasons, but I can tell you it was a great one, Aksel was fast and it was a real pleasure to watch him in action! At the finish he pointed his finger on the camera and smiled, he was so cute, sorry you didn't see his face! LOL
But I'm glad at least you checked the race live!

Have a beautiful evening, almost night for you, dear Ekaterina! Wish you a nice Sunday!

  5. @corinna.
Thanks, corinna, for doing me a favor !
Yes ! It was a great race, and Ted was faster than Aksel today, but Aksel is leading the overall in fact. It's an important fact ! I think the 1st place for Aksel is coming soon !

btw, corinna, THANKS ! for the link ! I've thought about the place so often. Obere Maxlrainer Alm is the place I met cows in summer ! and as for the pic #2, I think it looks like the place I took Taubensteinbahn, though I'm not sure. It's so nice and fun, corinna, to see the pics of the snow season in that area. Tonight, I was excited twice, at first with Aksel's race and then plenty of pics you showed me the link.

Have a happy Sunday, corinna ! Hugs !

Thanks for describing the race, dana ! ( You were able to ... I knew it ! )
I enjoyed the race by fis site LIVE, and it was also very interesting. Without the view, the pc screen is going on and indicated the result. I felt a bit like NASA people. ...:-))) , and with synchronized shout & scream in Campina and Ebisu, Aksel ran to the 2nd place today ! I also think flowers in our garden could not wait for synchronism until today's race.

btw, dana, as for the " Je t'aime issue " yes, I think that's the one I'm talking about. It was the first scene and this impact never ended to the last scene. I think it's Jeanne Moreau who really lives in the French movie.

Have a beautiful Sunday, dana. I think I have to go to bed for tomorrow, no, already today. ... Hugs !

  7. Hi Girls, hope you had a good time while following the race. It was Aksel's day, for sure. I am very happy for him.

    @Ekaterina
The weather conditions in Val d'Isère very excellent. Beautiful scenerey of the mountains, sunshine, a lot of snow. All in all, breathtaking!

Dear Ekaterina, I am a bit limeted, I do not know a lot of skiers. But I am trying to tell you my impressions of the race.

First the commentator said the race in Val d'Isère can be compared with the Formula 1 race in Monte Carlo. Very demanding, you have to be very concentrated and super agile. You must have a perfect kind of technic to be really good.

Ted Ligety (1) was the best, also optically he did a great job, and he made not one tiny mistake! Followed by Aksel's two cool runs, awesome style, technically perfect, one little mistake. But today I had the impression, Aksel IS BACK! I mean the warming up phase is finished.

Kjetil(10), impressing runs, fast, skied awesome, but some little mistakes. Truls (18) was ok, solid runs.

Carlo Janca (4) did well, 1st run was all right, 2nd was much better. Cuche (29) gave everything, Val d'Isère is not so much his his favorite race. At the finish he had kind of a cramp in the leg. Sandro Viletta (8) one of the young ones mad a good job.

Benjamin Raich (5) and Marcel Hirscher (6) as good and solid as always.

    @All
Wish you a happy weekend! Maybe you have time to see tomorrow another exiting race in Val d'Isère!

Have a nice evening or day, Greetings Nicolettchen.

  8. @Ekaterina Haha! I know what you mean, I followed the previous races on the American continent as you did it today, on FIS site!
And I screamed out loud during the both runs: "come on, handsome! Come on, baby! You can do it!" Luckily my dad and my son weren't home at that time! LOL
The flowers in my garden went a bit faded bc today it was sunny but very, very cold! And we don't have snow yet in Campina, though in other regions of my country the winter has come with a lot of snow!

I think the voice of Jeanne Moreau had an important contribution on the emotion of that scene!

Good night Ekaterina, a wonderful Sunday to you too! Kisses!

    @Nicoletta
You used the right words: AKSEL IS BACK!!! That was about this race today!
Our commentator on Eurosport spoke in superlatives about Aksel, about his technique, his force, his power, his mind! And not at the least about the great way he looks as an athlete!

What do you know about Didier Cuche? What has happened to him? Is he fine?

Have a beautiful evening/ night and a super day tomorrow! Hugs!

  9. @Dana
In the news I learnt that Didier Cuche has troubles with his back. He had this injurence since Beaver Creek, he hit his back during the race. It is not yet sure that he will do the race in Italy.

    See you tomorrow!
Good nigh & sweet dreams, Dana.

Thanks for the information! I'm so sorry for Didier, I saw he lay down after the finish but I didn't know how serious is his injury! Hope and wish him to recover soon!

Good night, sleep well and have nice dreams! Hugs!

  11. @ekaterina haha i was yesterday night in the taubensteinbahn! do you know that there is in the basement a bar? i go very often to there!
and if we went down yesterday night we needed some snow chains to get down there bc from 9 pm to 1 am it was snowing nearly 20cm of new snow! also on the street! but it was a great going out yesterday with lot of fun!

  12. @Nicoletta.
Thanks for the vivid report on GS yesterday !and YES ! I understand very well about " Aksel is back ", Nicolettchen !

And I'm sorry for Cuche. You have zwei great Didier and the one is off now, so the other must go on, so

I hope his back and leg will be OK soon.

Dear Nicoletta, I have almost the same impression as you have. Raich and Hirscher are solid. And I guess there is an unique atmosphere in Swiss racers, that is, the young racers feel a kind of mission which is caused by some troubles of zwei Didier and the comeback of Dani.I'm afraid I cannot explain well, but Carlo Janca is strongly aware of what he is going to do in this season, I think so.

Let's enjoy the slalom together, Nicollchen ( correct ? )

" Je t'aime issue " again, I thinks so, too, dana. And I also think probably every language has its own utterance. You may not notice it, because Romanian belongs to European language, but Japanese speaking is totally different from even other Asian languages. For example, in Japanese we pronounce " L " & " R " in the same way, and we have no sound of " V ". Concerning " V ", we speak it only in foreigh name and word, but it is often neglected. So, most of the time, Svindal is pronounced Sbindar. ... sounds like another person. .....
Returning from digression, I think Jeanne Moreau knew the best utterance when she talked that famous line in that movie.

btw, dear dana, I found one more new little flower of strawberry in our garden this morning. I think it is not yet in winter in Tokyo this year. Possibly from the next week. ...

Have a happy evening on Sunday, and a exciting new week ! dear dana ! Hugs !

  14. Hi Girls

That was an exiting slalom today!? I had only the time to watch the 2nd run intensively, but this one was quite impressive.

Many "stars" had troubles and were disqualified because of the tricky slalom slope. The sticks were set very irregular and they were set very close.

Yes, Ekaterina, we had the "right" two in focus, Hirscher and Raich did very well. Im glad Missilier, the Frenchman got the 3rd place. Because so many French skiers had such a bad luck.

It is funny, the "very" young Swiss skiers are coming. Justin Murisier is only 18 years old and with this 8th place he is absolutely great. Justin M. and Marc Gini are in the group with the injured trainers! They have got an extra portion of punch.

Silvan Zurbriggen is one of the new solid stars of Swiss ski heaven, maybe he is as good as Carlo this year?

I read Didier Cuche had last year nearly the same injurence with his back, but I presume he comes back and does everything to be under the best. This year he will decide if he makes next season or not.

    @All
Have a pleasant day/afternoon or evening. I am a lame duck at the moment and have to go to the gym. See you!

oh ! I didn't know about the bar in the basement of Taubensteinbahn, corrina ! I'm sure you enjoyed a nice time there last night, corinna !

btw, how long does it take from your house to Taubensteinbahn in winter, corinna ? I suppose everyone living in your area has a good technique of driving and good judgement of condition of the roads. In Tokyo, when it snows about 5cm which we don't have every winter, we'll be in chaos. ...;-)))

Hope you have a restful Sunday, and a nice new week, corinna ! Hugs ! Good night.

  16. @ekaterina from me up to there btw 30 min and 45 min, it has to do with the street conditions! and how many cars are on the street!

  17. @Nicoletta.
yes,Hirscher and Raich. The result of the slalom was very interesting. Aksel is so-called all-round racer, but I suppose most of the people think he is much better at the higher speed like DH,SG and GS. However slalom seems to be the discipline which has the base for all disciplines and that's the reason why Aksel decided back in spring some weeks after the end of the season to run more slalom in 10/11 season. But once the WC started, tons of unexpected things happen nearly every hour and it is quite usual and normal, then Aksel who aims at the overall champ this season, may change the plan of doing more slalom into just focus on the higher speed discipline. It's all my guess. ...;-))).

and Cuche is at the age when one starts to think about the career, although in every professional sports the average age of retirement is now high. and yes, Nicoletta, I recognize some young Swiss racers on the course, and I like to follow them.

btw, Nicolettchen, the temperature in Tokyo is below +10 today, first time in autumn/winter this season. When the tmperature is going down, I become a bit sleepy for the first 5 days, though I don't know why. ..... I think maybe I set the room temperature of the air-conditioner a little too high. ...;-)))

Have a nice afternoon & evening, Nicoletta !

I think it's so beautiful to have strawberry flowers in the garden in December! We have just ice flowers on the windows!

Sbindar sounds like a name of a cartoon hero! It's funny!:-)))

Have a nice evening, my dear Ekaterina! Hugs!

  19. Darryl my PT Guy thought it was so funny when I told him we make between 50-60 dozen sugar cookies & 5 dozen of peanutbutter, M&M, Chocolate Chip & Candy Cane. He told me it's not normal to make that many cookies. I told him I come from a big family so it's pretty normal. LOL Good way to start the day. He told me to be careful when I start making them. I hope you all had a great weekend.

  20. Hey Ladies!

The snow is killing me! I still have more Christmas shopping to do!

Sorry I haven't been around in a while. I have been non-stop with activities since Sep and then my laptop breaks! It was so nice to sit in the living room and blog my heart out. Maybe Santa will be good to me this Christmas:) (probably not...mine is really cheap!)

I firmly believe you had a wonderful weekend, Mel. I enjoy reading your text which looks you run the confectionary society ! I think you are already appointed in charge of drinks and sweets for the wedding party of Giffy's mom and dana's dad. :-)))

and btw, Mel, how's your shoulder then ? ...
Hope things around you go better and better !

  23. @dana.
Yes, truly it's beautiful to have strawberry flowers in our garden in the middle of December, dear dana. And I have to report you today I found out more new little folowers and 4 tiny strawberries. It's beautiful, but I'm a bit confused. It was cold yesterday, but it was only yesterday. We are not in winter yet which seems rather strange. Actually we have had a longer and warmer autumn this year, and it is also true that the temperature in the center area of Tokyo is always relatively higher. But I think it's too warm for the winter season of December.

btw, dana, in one's life normally there are so many things which we do not know or we are misunderstanding. and I met it yesterday. ...
When I listened to the FM radio, " The waves of the Danube " was on the air. It's the famous work by Ivanovici. and after the music ended, DJ just said " famous Romanian composer Losif Ivanovici " I was so surprised and almost jumped. dana, let me confess that I've thought he is from some Balkan nations, because the ending of his name * ici * sounds so... and at the same time, I understand Romania has really international history which is not always generous for all the people living there. Anyhow the melody of the waves of the Danube is also very much loved by Japanese people.

Have a nice day, dana !

    ReplyDelete
  24. @Ekaterina
You amaze me, I told you this before and I'll keep saying it! Yes, "The Waves of the Danube" is the work of Iosif Ivanovici, a romanian composer with serbian descent. In my country you can hear this song as a wedding waltz, is very known and very appreciated, especially its version with lyrics!
If you like to listen to more music by Iosif Ivanovici, here are a few links:

Thanks, you made me so proud telling me that Japanese ppl love Romanian music!
And you are right about our international history, but there are some foreign ppl that loved Romania more than their own country. They've come from Germany, from Hohenzollern-Sigmaringen family. I'm talking about the King Carol I and his wife Elisabeth ( known as the poetess Carmen Sylva)

We have snow!!! A lot of snow! It's snowing since this morning and everything is white! It's beautiful! But no more "boule de neige" flowers! Well, we can make veritable boule de neige! LOL

Wish you to have a pleasant evening, dear Ekaterina! Hugs!

  25. @dana.
Thanks for the beautiful likns, dana !!!
The music of Ivanovici ( yes, Serbian name ... ) is Japanese taste, dana.

I think there are many ways and styles to talk about European history, and marriages between Royalty is one of these, and nobody can deny their great contribution to the culture. Now I'm pleased to know the once Kingdom of Romania is from Hohenzollern-Sigmaringen, because I become to feel your country looks much more familiar to me ! dear dana !

I hope your boule de neige will enjoy the restful winter, while my strawberry is still working even in December. ...;-)))

Wishing you have a holy white evening, dana ! Good night ! Hugs !
