  2. hi girls!

i wish you all a great sunday!

  5. Hei girls!

@Nicoletta thanks, have a nice day too!

@Corinna We call him Saint Nicholas (Nicolae) and he brings sweets and little presents on kids' boots, only if the boots are very clean and if the kids were good over the year! If they were bad Saint Nicholas put a stick for them in the boots! Even so, he always brings sweets! So I think he may bring me a stick but also sweets! Haha!

    @AM altid mer!! LOL

    ReplyDelete
  6. @dana haha here it is nearly the same! but the kids don´t get a stick when they weren´t good all the year! then the "krampus" comes with the "nikolaus" also the saint nicholas!

    it looks then like this!

    http://www.lungau.at/typo3temp/pics/1cd20d8326.jpg

in austria the "krampus" is calling "perchten" and they are more scary then the german "krampus" down there is a pic!

    http://www.wienweb.at/pictures/pict18/big/wg18098.jpg

    http://www.soisses.at/wp-content/gallery/perchtenlauf-gmund-2007/krampus-perchten-gmuend-10.jpg

in austria there are also "perchtenläufe" there you getting run with the perchten and they follow you and then when it is bad you get some beats of him!
they are sometimes real bad! here in my region they all need a number like a bib! so you know who it is and when that one real bad hurts you then you can go to the director or to the police to tell them that! but thanks god that don´t happen to much! some years ago some of the austrians come to my region also with some dogs and they also let the dogs run after you and that is real bad! but since that thing with the numbers it is a lot better!

  7. Hi Girls

You brought me of an idea, look at my picture, isn't it a nice picture or not??

I think, a tiny St. Nicolas is an adequate pic for me. Ha, Ha.

Let's have a trial. If we can see something .....

  10. @Corinna We have "capra"-the goat, but is more funny than scary and it's peaceful, not like your krampus! LOL

@Nicoletta So sweet! I love your pic!!! LOL

  12. Hello Girls

We call the St. Nicolas in Swiss German "Samichlaus" and he has his own Tram with the name "Märlitram" in Zurich during Christmas time.

Little children have so much fun to ride with that Tram. The Samichlaus is the driver and there are always two angles on board. They serve Christmas cookies and peanuts, sing Christmas songs with the children and tell them a Christmas fairytale.

    Here a link:

Enjoy the race and enjoy St. Nicolaus Day tomorrow!!!

  13. Seems like Aksel and Kjetil will do pretty well. Kjetil did an awesome run!!

@ corinna I'm feeling better so I hope that my doc dont put me in a hospital. The strange thing is that I feel much better at night then during the day!! LOL

    ReplyDelete
  14. @AM Kjetil was great on this first run, Aksel the same! Good job!
You'll be fine, baby, you'll see! I have this feeling! ...mer!! LOL

    ReplyDelete
  15. @dana and am yes real good job of both, so let see what the second run will bring

@am i cross my fingers for you that you don´t need to go to the hospital! haha so you feel goog during the night but this is a good thing so you can sleep good! or?

    ReplyDelete
  16. @ Corinna Hi girl! How are you? How was your day? Ready for a new week of work?
Take care with those Krampus tomorrow! Haha!

    ReplyDelete
  17. @dana this krampus are today and tomorrow. but thank god i´m in work tomorrow and there are nothing of them! i know some couple of years ago we went for a walk with the dog, my neighbour and i and suddenly 15 of these krampus were only 100 m away from us with sticks and iron chains in their hands, we run so fast into the next street and hide us behind a big hedge and thanks god they didn´t find us, i called after this my dad and he came with the car and was driving beside us with it, bc the dog needed to go and do what he had to do!
the good thing is that during the day they are not here only when it is getting dark and only from 5 pm to 9pm!

    ReplyDelete
  18. @dana oh i forget my day was great so far, my little niece was the whole afternoon here and we had played and was out in the snow

    btw i had written you a e-mail

    ReplyDelete
  19. i´m a bit confused!

the austrian commentators said that als and jm are going to marry next year in may on maui, bc there she is during the summer and train a lot there! does someone else heared something about this?
i think they just make a joke, bc they talked before about the wedding from lv and that maria riesch is going to marry next year and i think that they maybe mean that it would be funny when also jm and als are going to marry next year and bc of jm train a lot in maui that there would be the perfect place for it

    ReplyDelete
  20. @am did you heared something about this on the norway press?

    ReplyDelete
  21. @ corinna NO I haven't heard anything about a wedding in the norwegian media!!!! If Aksel has any plans on marry this woman I dont think he so stupid that he's doing something like that without living with her for a while - in the same country. But that's just my opinion!! LOL

    ReplyDelete
  22. @AM.
I think you're sleeping right now and visit your doctor after you get up.
CRP is just one of the materials to judge the health, but AM, so long as I know, 80 is considerably high. But CRP is always changing and it depends on the condition, so I suppose it is lower than 80 now. I do hope you will not have to stay in the hospital for some days, but in case if your doctor likes to check your condition a little more, please be kind to let him do so, please. I really want you to spend such a beautiful season in good health, AM !

  23. @dana.
I learned your city of Campina, dana ! Campina has longer history than Tokyo.
First I didn't know Ploiesti is the first oil-refinery spot of the world and it was the mid 19th century until you imformed us. Then, I thought I liked to know more about your place.
The most of Japanese thinks that the oil is produced and refined only in the Arab nations, the USA, the former USSR, and the North Sea, and a few knows about the things related in Austria.

I live in Shibuya-ku(ward). There are 23 special wards in the central of Tokyo and Shibuya-ku is located in the center area of it. I looked up Internet to find some web-site, but there seems not so good site at this moment. But I guess you remember the movie about the most famous dog in my country. The name is " Hachi " and the movie about the story Hachi was produced by the American film company some years ago, and the real location of the story is at Shibuya Station.

I was so tired yesterday. The place of funeral ceremony is a bit far from here, but his 80 years old widow was very very pleased with my visit from Tokyo. and it was funny that she worried about my 2-day visit and when I left the place and promised her to visit the next day, too,she told me, " Yuko chan(it means "dear", and I think similar to chen in German, however I'm not sure of the spell), as soon as you arrive your home, I think you must leave your home for here. " ....., so I joked her that " Don't worry about it, we live in the same time zone. " It was nice she understood the joke and looked she liked it.

Have a beautiful new week, dana !

    ReplyDelete
  24. @Nicoletta.
At first, I love to say congrats to Dani ! He ran to the finish on Sunday and I feel it great, Nicoletta !

and, I'm so much impressed with you at your remark on my mother, Nicoletta. ..... I was thinking of you during 2-day funeral ceremony last weekends to control my emotion. I thank you very much for your warm-hearted care for me, Nicoletta.

Then, thanks for the links about Escher and Zwitzerland ! I'll check one by one when I have a time. They seem very attractive for me to see, because I'm really fond of knowing and thinking about history ! and it is nice that I can talk with you about them, Nicole !

Have a pleasant new week, Nicoletta !

    ReplyDelete
  25. @Giffy.
I learned it is also the same in the US. in black with pearl.
btw, Giffy, I know that all men are created equal in your country. and meanwhile in Japan, all men are cremated equally. It is our law. I went to the cremation place on last Sunday(yesterday) and it was the 2nd time for me. The place of location is different from my mom's, but cremation is cremation. I know it's our law and think it is the best way in my country , but it's a tough to be there, however the relatives must attend it if one attends the funeral. So I seriously think about attending the vigil only in the future seems the best for me, at least now I'm thinking that way. sorry for an interesting topic, Giffy. ...

Have a happy new week in lovely month, Giffy !

  26. @corinna, @dana, @Nicoletta.
I enjoyed quite a lot about krampus, capra, and Samichlaus ! As my country is not the Christian nation, I didn't know about them. I think if I visit my friends in Germany in December, I think I knew them. But I'm very happy to learn about them from you !

In Japan, we have a grand and great Christmas season in December, and I think I once posted the text here that I was educated in the Christian institute from kndergarten to Uni, so I know about it, but most of Japanese people do not much about it and simply enjoy Christams as the biggest seasonal event of the year.

Hope you all enjoy the snow, dear corinna, dana, and Nicoletta !

  27. @Mel.
How are things going on? Mel ? I hope you feel fine with the shoulder and the situation of your work.

btw, Mel, I tried CLBYSGRL555@yahoo.com to let you know about the amusing days of my country which I'm sure you find interesting, but in vain. Again due to my pc and my pc skill, I think so. Although I'm still selecting which ones will be possible for all of us to enjoy, I love to let you know when I decide which ones are the nicer. So maybe, I'll post it here during this month. Anyhow, the site you posted takes me to the page of the precious blog and it doesn't look the place to post them now. ...

Hope you enjoy the new week, Mel ! Even if there are anything you don't like, we are with you, so talk to us.

Thank you so much for your nice words!! This afternoon I will go to the doctor. Now I
'm feeling so much much better, I just have some cough, and that is of course bc I still have a cold and that the infection is still there. But I feel so much better and I'm still a very good girl and spend some time on the couch to rest, Ekaterina!! LOL A nice day to you and a big hug from me goes from the north to Tokyo!!

  29. @Ekaterina
You never stop to amaze me! You like to know and learn about everything! Is there something uninteresting to you in this world? Kidding, of course!
I've heard before about Shibuya and Shibuya Station! And I found some images of Shibuya Christmas, I'm sure you recognize the places! There are beautiful!!!

    http://gojapan.about.com/od/tokyophotogallery/ig/Shibuya-Christmas-Pictures/

And some wonderful pictures of Cherry Blossom in Tokyo! Don't you feel their sweet fragrance?

    http://www.japan-guide.com/blog/sakura10/100405_tokyo.html

I'm glad you went slightly over the sad atmosphere at the funeral, I know it wasn't easy for you!
And I'm sure you were a very elegant presence there! But were you a good actress, as you wanted?

Have a beautiful day, Ekaterina! Hugs!

I'm so glad to know you feel much better now, am ! I think the worst condition seems to be over and you head to the full recovery.
I hear this winter in Europe is very severe and I imagine the air in the up north is stern, aber Stern must be beautiful there, am !
I wish you'll be able to enjoy the beautiful winter in your place. Visiting doctor is the first step for the best preparation for Christmas ! Please continue to take good care of you, dear am ! Hugs !

  35. Hi Girls

Happy Santa Clause Day to all!!

I am enjoying may name's day too!! Ha, Ha. Thanks Dana!

    @Ekaterina
I am happy to hear that you feel well after the busy weekend and especially after attending the funeral.
Making a little joke about time zone with the widow is a wonderful sign that you are fine.

Please take your time with all the links about Alfred Escher. I feel a bit guilty because everone, especially you, coming from such a hudge country, has much more to tell about your history.

So, I am collecting the links about Ploiesti and Tokyo, and hopefully I can read them soon.

In Switzerland, snow disappears and we have some dark and rainy days. Grrrrr!! Not so inviting.

Have a peaceful evening and a wonderful week, Ekaterina Chan!!

    ReplyDelete
  36. @dana.
It is YOU who always make me amaze, dana !
How do you find these site !?

If you click "More Christmas in Japan Pictures", you find the pic of Ebisu. It is my address in Shibuya-ku.

In the site of sakura(cherry blossom in Japanese), you see Meguro River. Meguro is neighboring ward to Shibuya. It is true that people in my country enjoy watching cherry blossom. In Tokyo the cherry blossom season is from late March to early April and not only the famous spot, but also even at the entrance of our house, there is the cherry blossom tree which is loved by all people walking on the road along our house.

Thanks for these links, dana !

The nearest station from our house is Daikanyama, 3 minutes walk, and from Daikanyama Station, it takes only 2 minutes to Shibuya Station. I'm very much honored that you like the pics of my place, dana !

and I honestly thank you for thinking about me at the funeral..... and I think I was doing well as an actress...;-)))My role was to keep the atmosphere there friendly with the least conversation. Because I didn't think I
could learn by heart the long lines. ...:-)))

Have a beautiful evening in snow possibly, dana ! Now I take a bath and go to bed. Good night, and Hugs !

    ReplyDelete
  37. @Dana
As I said before, when I have time I have to look for some infos about Romania, and especially Ploiesti.

Do you have these huge fields with roses, supposed to make fragrance of them?

Eastern countries are in general beautiful, I now already some parts of Hungary and Tschechien (Prag) and South Bohemia.

    Have a wonderful evening, Dana.

    ReplyDelete
  38. Ha, Ha, Ekaterina is "on the road too"....

Yes, regarding the race, I forgot to say. The Vikings were great!!!

But my special highlight was Dany Albrecht. He was just great. Nobody did expect that he is already so good on skis.

That was absolutely nice, that he got a standing ovation from the collegues and the spectators.

    @AM
Hope for you the meeting with the doctor was good. I presume, you are on a good way and it looks like, Rudolph can "fix" the rest. Ha, Ha!
    Take care, AM!

  39. @Nicole

    Pleased to meet you Nicole!

My real name is Nicole too, so we are already two enjoying our name's day!

Be carful with the ice patches. You need good boots!

    Have a pleasant day!!

    ReplyDelete
  40. @Corinna
That is wonderful that you had yesterday a goodtime with your niece. Little children in that age are so cute.

The story with the weird the perchten sounds aweful. That is a good solution with the numbers. Some people are just crazy if they wear a mask and a coustume!!

Hopefully you had a quiet Santa Clause day and had not to run away from the perchten?

    ReplyDelete
  41. @Nicole & Nicoletta
I'm glad you enjoyed your name's day! I've thought of you the whole day! LOL St. Nicholas brought me sweets, he knows I love them! Haha!
    @Nicoletta
our commentators talked so nicely about Dany Albrecht! I watched him with so much admiration! I'm happy for him!

    @Ekaterina
I just search Shibuya and I found those links! I love all the pics of Tokyo, there's so much light and so much color! And I found some pics of Ebisu Christmas Lights! They're beautiful!

    http://gojapan.about.com/od/tokyophotogallery/ig/Tokyo-Ebisu-Christmas-Pictures/Tokyo-Ebisu-Christmas-4.htm

I remember I saw on tv a report about Cherry Blossom from Japanese Embassy in Bucharest! It was a real holiday! They have there a few cherry trees. Here the cherry blossom season is almost in the same time as in Tokyo!

And I found a very interesting page about Shibuya Fashion!

    http://www.japaneselifestyle.com.au/japan_picture/shibuya-fashion-thumbs-39-page-1.html

I'll search more about Shibuya-Tokyo-Japan! It's exciting! I love it!

    Sleep well, dear Ekaterina! Hugs!

Today I went to see my doc and it seems like my CRP has gone up from eighty to ninetyfour. My doc didnt understand one bit of it,. LOL He checked my lungs and he couldn't hear one singel biip. But it may be some of the infection that's still there. He said I shall NOT bother about that high siffer bc it's nothing dangorous. I feel in good shape and that is he main thing!I justhave to be patient and take one day at time and everything will be ok!! LOL And Rudolph will help me with the rest. Hehe

    ReplyDelete
  44. @am ok i think it doesn´t sounds so bad!

so take some days more rest and i be sure you will be fine again!

    ReplyDelete
  45. @ Corinna I feel fine! Today was the first day in abou wo weeks that I didn't need to sleep during the day. So I think I'm in the right direction. I still have some days left on my medicines and I still have a cold. So like you say, I will take a few more rest days and I'm back in business!! LOL

  46. @dana.
Thanks for the links of my neighbor ! and I'm very happy you like my place.
But, dana, generally speaking, the city in my country looks rather ugly, I think. Every time I visit Europe ( I've never been in the US yet ), I think its city, town and village are real treasure. I mean all the buildings there have dignity & elegance. As I mentioned, we opened the country to the whole Europe & the US only about 130 years ago. Since then, we have changed our lifestyle dramatically in the way of the then advanced nations such as Germany, France, GB, and so on. But we failed to design the pretty cities like in Europe. I feel some parts of the city look nice, but it's hard to say that the whole balance is nice.

btw, dana, I'm thinking about the 2nd attempt of sarmale. First I'll visit DARIE, but I have to attend the annual class reunion party from my elementary school on Saturday. So I plan to visit DARIE in 18th. I type this text while looking at my schedule, and after having meals there I visit one of the best grocery stores and buy the cabbages. Attention please, dana, it's not a cabbage, but cabbages. The new enamel storage container is large enough for the couple ! Very much excited even before I start it !

Have a nice day in pretty Campina, dana !

  47. @Nicoletta.
I enjoyed very very much with the 3 links related to the modernization of Switzerland, ETH, and Herr Escher. I really thank you very much, Nicoletta ! All are so interesting. and I found the name Gottfried Semper in ETH site. I've known his name for years already, because he was the architect of Semper Opera in Dresden.

btw, Nicoletta, I think you are talking about the damask rose. Alexander the Great first found the small pink rose in Damascus on the way to the east or back to the west, and then he brought back it to the place, now in Bulgaria. In Japan people only talks about the damask rose fields in Bulgaria. But I can easily guess that damask rose is cultivated also in other area in eastern Europe. and yes, I think eastern Europe is full of beautiful places with historical interest. I visited Prag in August and thought it beautiful.

It's cloudy in Tokyo with the temperature around 7C - 14C. Don't collapse please, Nicoletta, but we call it " cold ". .....

Hope you have a fine day, Nicoletta !

  48. @Nicole.
Hi ! Nicole ! It's Ekaterina. very happy to see you !
Nicole, I'm already looking forward to your report from Pureto Rico. Caribbean Sea sounds fascinating. But it seems there are many things to be done before the Christmas holidays start, Nicole. I hope you enjoy the both period !

Best regard from my baby sister to your Dina !

  50. @Ekaterina

I quiet understand you, what you are saying about big cities. Smaller cities have often a lot of charm and history! Exactly what we love, Ekaterina.

I am so happy you liked the links about Alfred Escher, because he really formed Switzerland. There were nobody comparable in Switzerland earlier, and I presume in the future, it is not possible to have such great visions and be able to bring all of them to bearth.

I believe ETH Zurich is well known over the world. It is a huge complex.

Exactly Exaterina, the rose field from Bulgaria. It was just kind of my memories, many years ago. As I was around 20 I worked for a trading company trading with Eastern countries. I knew about the roses from an ingeneer but I did not remember if it is Romania or Bulgaria. The smell of the roses must be so beautiful. My collegue and I got a little flacon with fragrance in it for a present.

Don't worry about temperature, it has changed a lot in Zurich, we have around 5 degrees plus at the moment, but snow will come back.

Have a pleaseant afternoon and a restful evening, Ekaterina.
