First Snow

We got our first dusting of snow. Ella is not sure what to make of it. I can't wait until we get some real snow to see what she does. She is terrified of the Christmas Tree though. LOL School is out for a month. Don't know what my grades are yet though. Gonna enjoy my break & hopefully stay out of the house as much as possible.

    Glad some snow has also arrived in Ohio!

    Ella May lokes great, I love her small coat.
    She will be funny to look at with even more snow. LOL

    The prices of Avene are ok. With the deep Euro it is nearly cheap! HaHa

    Yes Corinna, at the moment it is fun to enjoy Winter because it is the right time for it! But unfortunately it will get warmer and I doubt we will have a white Christmas!

    @Mel

    Hope you enjoy your time during the next month without school! The best you can do, profit from going outside with Ella May!

    Good night everybody! Hugs!

    Ella-May looks so beautiful in her nice sweater!! I can imagine her barking to the Christmas tree! lol

    @ Nicoletta& Ekaterina& Corinna
    I use Nivea too, I think is the best for my hands and my face, but I use to put a vial of Vit. A in it and mix it very well. I also use Dove rich nourishment body cream, it works for my skin type.

    Wish you all a beautiful day!
    Love you!!!

  5. Hello Girls

    So much fun to find you reunited here!
    **************************************

    By the way, I tried also "Dove Pro-age Body Lotion"! Found it great!

    Have to finish first 2 other body-firming creams from Clarins which I bought on my birthday at the Discounter, but I think I come back to the above-mentionned.

    Usually I take not every day the same cream and use mainly Nivea Body cream for dry skin!!

    Here a picture:

    Thanks for the lovely pic !

    @Ella May
    You'll soon have a real snow and you can learn a lot about it from your mom !

    @dana
    Yes,I know it ! bc whenever I check the weather in Switzerland, I also check it in Romania.

    @corinna
    I think I try Anene's thermal water spray when I stay in the hospital, bc it's so dry in the rooms there.
    I always use the baby lotion of Johnson & Johnson after legs' shaving.

    @Nicoletta
    I don't put any body lotion and body cream. I think things I put in the bathtub seem enough for my skin, such as bath salt and bath oil, and so on. and I put some lotion on my heels after I put in on my face. I mean the leftover in the cotton.
    I think Clarins is a bit expensive here. I use CD for my facial care. The line is Capture Totale. I also use CD for my make-up, however Chanel sometimes visits me ! ... ;-)))

    @dana
    The most well-known product of Dove in Japan is possibly the body soap. It's soft. I once used it, but now I use Dr.Bronner's Magic Soap.
    I suppose this soap and the bath salts make me free from the body lotion & cream.

    It's the winter solstice today, and I put the citrus " Yuzu " in the bathtub as Japanese tradition.

    @All ladies !
    It looks I'm the only one without snow. It snows a lot in the northern part of Japan as well as the mountain areas, but not yet in Tokyo. The cold and dry air every day. But it's sunny here today.

    Have a nice day !
    Kisses & Hugs ! LOVE !

  8. @All Ladies

    Very interesting/funny to read through the habits everyone has regarding body care!

    @Corinna
    @Ekaterina

    That is great, you don't need to cream after the shower/bath! I can also do without, but afterwards I do not feel very comfortable.
    Even when I use Nivea soft shower cream, my absolute favorite! I need to cream!!

    BTW, I do not work for Nivea! HaHa

    ReplyDelete
  9. @Ekaterina

    Clarins was also extremely expensive here as the Euro was high!
    Some time ago, I used often Creme Fermete and Creme Masvelt (body cream) and was happy with it. So with my "birthday money" I returned to it.

    I buy at "Import Parfumerie" they really have fair prices and give always 10 % percent on already lower prices.
    4 times a year they give even 20 % plus, so with 30 % percent on already lower prices I can life! LOL

    The products are fresh, and ok for me. Some rumours are around, they sell old products. But is not true, after the Financial crisis everybody has to look for his money. And the big cosmetic line like CD, Estee Lauder are interested to sell more.

    The 20 % plus is because a lot of Swiss people go for shopping to Germany, and in the city a lot of stores give extra discount of 20 percent because of the lower Euro.

    ReplyDelete
  10. Wish you all a great day!
    Hugs & Kisses!

  11. Unfortunately we have strong rainfall in Zurich since yesterday! The snow has disappeared totally! What a shame!

    No snow for Christmas in sight!

    ReplyDelete
  12. @Nicoletta
    But Nivea wants you as a sale promotion agent. ... :-)))

    I don't have a shop like " Import parfumerie " in Tokyo, but if you become the membership customer of the big department store, you can enjoy 10% discount whenever and whatever you buy anything. So I buy the cosmetic items at the department store. Besides, I use the duty free shops at the airports when I have holiday, though only one time chance a year for me. ... ;-)))

    One of my friends worked for CD in 2001 and she told me the total sales of CD ( the cosmetic division ) relied on the duty free shops all over the country, and the sales dropped dramatically after 9.11 due to the decrease of the travellers. But I suppose the situation becomes worse recently than 2001 due to the world financial chaos. Not only CD, but the other industry, too. I don't know who gains the profit every day. ... ;-)))

    btw, Nicoletta, there are still about two days remain. I'm sure you can expect the white Christmas this weekend ! Sure !

    ReplyDelete
  13. @Ekaterina
    @All Ladies

    Import Parfumerie imports directly from the distributor. It has become very popular in Switzerland and is in the range of a duty free shop. They sell nearly every cosmetic line as well as fragrances.

    I did not yet say, I am a big fan of Estée Lauder! The facial creams and especially the Night Repair are my absolute favorites!
    To be honest, from time to time I cheat a bit with Nivea facial creams.

    Small things like powder, eye-liner I buy during the year at the department store to get the generous promotion gift of EL.
    They are extremely nice, because so you can try out little samples, and get mini examples for travelling or for the handbag. I love also the handy cosmetic bags what you get with it.

    You are perfectly right, Ekaterina the financial chaos ruins nearly everything!
    But I think one thing is positive, customer are more aware about prices and compare first before buying anything.

    Don't tell it to the others, but Estée Lauder asked me also for sales promotion! LOL

    The Christmas coffret is absolutely great!

    http://geniusbeauty.com/make-up/christmas-gift-sets-estee-lauder/

    Sorry ladies, with the Christmas gift I finally come to an end!

    Hope sincerely you have all your Christmas gifts together, and are looking forward to happy Christmas Holidays with your beloved ones!

    Wish you all a great day/relaxing evening & a good night!

    Hugs & Kisses! Love you!

    @Ekaterina

    Now I am reliefed! I thought I am the only crazy woman about highclass cosmetics! LOL

    I use EL because I have never had allergies. Unfortunately with some other products I got into troubles.

    L'Occitane products seem to be extraordinairy, I love to read about the fragrances, the natural products in it! It comes from the Provence, so nice! Love it!

    Once I must walk through this shop to feel the atmosphere. I know we have one integrated in the main station.

    Regarding weather: You say it, in the city we had at least 1 cm of water on the streets. It was raining the whole day long, and did not yet stop.

    Good night, Corinna!

    ReplyDelete
  17. @nicoletta where i work their was nearly 5-10cm of snow and it was nearly gone away bc of the rain!

    i hope it will rain again till christmas!

    haha when i get money from my patient as a tip, i put it in a piggy bank (sparschwein) and when i have some money together then i buy me a new lipgloss from chanel or a new eyeshadow or something like this!
    but i only buy such things from my tip bc i think it is better to save that and buy me some better stuff, bc i have made this experiance that this stuff is mostly better!

    and so i do me something good with my tip and make me from time to time with this a little great present!

    i wish you all a great evening!

    The Night Repair always tempts me into using.
    But I often go to bed late due to the concerts, so " my " night is often shorter than EL thinks. ... ;-))) But I think it's my chance to use it during about 3-week staying in the hospital in March. I'm going to add it to the items in my small suitcase. It's not a joke, Nicolettchen.

    btw, I think I can meet you in the branch office of Estee Lauder in Switzerland when it holds the meeting for the promotion !

    My mom used EL when I was a little girl, then she change to CD when I became the age of the cosmetic user.

    yes, the generous promotion gift is always fun to have !

    Loccitane is expensive in Japan. The goods related with Provence are always expensive here, bc " Provence " is a kind of the brand in Japan. But I often walk in the shop, bc I love the atmosphere.

    I think we the customers have taken the lessons for past some years what to buy and how to use the money. My conclusion so far is that the greed becomes the loser. I mean, if you buy the expensive goods bc you think it good and you really want it, you cannot be a loser. But if you buy the cheaper goods bc you first like the price itself, you will be a loser. It has been deflation in Japan and I find many such cases, although the cheap products are not always bad.

    @corinna
    Christian Dior. We normally call it just Dior in Japan as you do, but it looks easier to write as CD. ... ;-)))

    I love your way of using the tips, corinna !

    @All ladies
    It's very cold in Tokyo today. The temperature is about 6°C and sunny, but the air is so cold.
    The weather report says it'll be much colder this weekend.

    Hope you have a beautiful Christmas weekend !

    I forgot to mention. Thanks for the link of the thermalwasser, but I cannot see it. But I think I take the Avene thermalwasser spray, too, to the hospital in March.

    I admit I'm a strange girl to talk about these things. Actually I don't know the life in the hospital, but I suppose it must be boring and not fun. So I'd like to make it grade up.

    !!! How did you know of it !? You're amazing, dana ! Thank you for your words for our national holiday. yes, it's our Emperor's 78th BD.

    But the Japanese Imperial Family holds lots and lots of the problems and troubles. It does not start today and it's also their long family history. very very complicated because of its secrecy. But we're happy today for any reason, bc it's just a holiday !

    btw, dana, my baby sis will have to have the first experience tomorrow. Usually the guests who visit us are over 6 years old ( up to about 70's ), but tomorrow 3 years old " boy " visits us with his family. The little Ekaterina has not met " 3 years old boy " before. His 6 years old sister is OK, bc she has met her several times before and understand each other. Anyhow I try to manage things better during the tea party tomorrow afternoon.

    Hope you enjoy a busy day before the Christmas, my dear dana !

    Happy you are interested in the Night Repair, Ekaterina!
    There exists also an "Intensive Nigth repair" for 3 week, 5 times more concentrated. You have to look what suits you. You are always very wellcome in my office, my dear Ekaterina! LOL

    I understand you are already thinking about all items you need in the hospital. It is a big change in somebody's life to get such kind of surgery. But you will do step by step, and
    Dr. Shiba and of course your beloved mother will take good care of you, Ekaterina!

    Perhaps you can look out for some real good books, something to cheer you up. Certainly you need several type of books.

    Do you know the novels of Frederica De Cesco, my dear Ekaterina?

    The books are quite entertaining and easy to read. Most of the time you learn a lot about foreign countries, and it is about love and interesting lifes. Strong male characters are guaranteed! LOL

    Unfortunately I did not find a good link for you, but I presume you find books in English from Frederica de Cesco also in Japan.

    I found only the wiki info (only in German)!

    We had also kind of family "Wienacht" with children!

    Was nice, we sang Christmas songs and listened to a Christmas fairytale (all in Swiss German).

    Was fun to notice the hudge community of Germans they join us because of ETH, all with 2-3 children. They tried to sing with us in Swiss German and seem to be very good integrated! Nice they support our church.

    Feel sorry for you Corinna, you could not go to the Christmette.

    Afterwards we had dinner with my partner and "Bud Spencer". My sweetheart cooked! and we had Steaks, rice and salad and nice redwine! followed from some Christmas cookies & sweets. For me also black cholate.

    After haven some Christmas impressions, we watched finally the second part of "EL Zorro" on TV!! Nothing to add. LOL

    You're right, Nicolettchen ! Steve Jobs turns over. ... ;-))) The living environment in Japanese hospital is under development. I'm thinking how to manage to do it.

    I visited the bookstore today and asked about " Silber Shell " by Frederica de Cesco. There were several lists of her books, but all in German. and what surprised me most was there was not " Silber Shell " among them ! The situation looks under development, too !

    But I could check it, thanks to your link, Nicoletta. It's interesting !

    and, yes, I feel KODO is much better than Yamato. Actually the origin is quite different.

    then, I love the pic of the uncle Kjetil ! Thanks for the link ! He looks very confident.

    Reading FdC books would be amazing, even if you dont understand every word! But the scenery you would check easy, Ekaterina! And the countries including love stories in Tibet, Sahara with the Tuareg, whatever would fascinate you totally!

    @Ekaterina
    @Corinna

    You know, Aksulia are both very though business(men)!!

    They do what they can for skiing/business and postphone the living to the Summertime!

    With Paganello for Aksel the time for celebrating Christmas was too short anyway! And he never would skip Bormio because of his BD! Absolutely impossible!

    And Julia realized that nothing is in her way to travel to the States because she skipped the last race because of having stomac problems! She is tough women and cured it on the way! I read somewhere she can pratically never be at home over Christmas. So she enjoyed her grandfather was cooking a special Italian soup with seafood, fish, prawns (similar to French) Bouillabaisse.

    Both Aksel & Julia are used to travel a lot, and to jump from race to race during the saison.

    This time Kjetil makes it the right way, he decided to skip Bormio and stays with his family to get some rest. Also a possibility, but he has not really to fight with the Hirscher & Co!

    btw, the scene of FdC works seems very exotic ! and btw ( again ) do you know anything about the Kingdom of Bhutan ? The 21 years old queen Pema is so so beautiful ! To my regret, I cannot find the proper link for you, but I hope you can manage it, Nicolettchen !

    * The Avene's thermal water spray
    * The Intensive Night Repair by EL
    and
    * German text books

    3 items so far for my life in the hospital in 2012 !

    3 days left and we'll have the year 2012.
    Honestly speaking, all Japanese feel differently about the new year due to 3.11.
    As I often mentioned, Japan is the young country and the country of lots of the natural disasters, though most of them has the poor record. But the stratum tells everything.
    I'm a bit shocked to know that there was the much huger tsunami hit Japan about 2000 years ago. People says 3.11 tsunami is the one in 1000 years and I think it right. and people now talks about the tsunami in 2000 years. According to the survey, the location is not Tokyo and I also think it right. It is said to happen in the south west of Japan. The several natural trenches in the deep sea around Japan are always ready to work, like tomorrow, after 10 years, after 30 years, and so on. Again according to the survey, they have a certain cycle, and the most possibility is that the next huge one comes in 30 years.
    I wish there'll be no AKW in Japan soon.

    Sorry to talk about not-fun matter.

    Anyway,

    Let's have the great year of 2012 together !
    Kisses & Hugs ! LOVE !

    Taking a German text book with you, what a great idea, Ekaterina!

    You are right queen Pema is a real beauty!

    The Tibetian culure is great, and I learnt so much about Tibetian customs and habits, and about the the life today as well as many years before the occopation of the Chinese people, because of reading FdeC books! The books are indeed very exotic, mystic and fascinating.

    Astrologically seen (I learnt from my favorite astrologe) the world will have to face more of unstability like in 2011 with the Arab countries, natural desasters like in Japan, and troubles on the financial markets.

    No stability in sight! A lot of changes are possible, rebells are on the road, the nature makes troubles, and it will last until at least 2015.

    I can deeply understand that people in Japan are aware of possible more unfortunate developments in the future.

    So people in Switzerland are worried because of bad development regarding jobs, financial security in old age, etc.

    You can firmly feel the situation, if you go to the shops, no buyers are around! Even if you can have 30%, 50%, people do not buy much.

    It is almost ironic, my astrologe mentioned in 2020 we all will be reliefed from tha bad couple of years, started with the financial crises in 2009 to approx. 2015.

    So you say it, we all have do to the best of it, and certainly enjoy a good time together in 2012!

    The Water Dragon shall rule in his best form, and with God's forces we are able to create a wonderful 2012.

    @All Ladies

    Wish you all a happy and not to busy last bit of the year 2011!

    CONGRATS to ANOTHER DIDIER ! and the 2 Swiss on the podium, Nicolettchen !

    OK, the turmoil on the street, the chaos in finance, and the natural disaster, the 3 bad developments all over the world at least until 2015. and the year 2020 sounds lovely " spring ". I see everything has the process, and I think it's lucky that we start the new year with the water dragon which shows us the outline of what to do.

    Thank you, dear Nicoletta, for the helpful idea for the near future. I think it helps me arrange my life much better than before.

    btw, Nicolettchen, thanks for the link of madameetoile, actually I can see it, but the google translation does not work, though I don't know why. Maybe it's a sign for me to start German study right now. ... ;-))) yes, I start it !

    @All ladies !
