@Mel.
ReplyDeleteHappy St. Patrick Day !!!
Yes, Mel, I put somwthing green on me !
and thanks for thinking of us.
I've already posted the update in ALS, and now here let me post the latest update.
The Riot Police nearly finished the preparation, and the mission starts soon.
and the Self Defense Forces which abandoned the mission last night came back the spot again with the 2 helicopters CH-47 which can pour 7 tons water each at one time. They started it 30 minutes ago. But the the level of the radiation is high especially in area " up ", so they can't hover in the air, so continue to fly and pour the water from the heli. Although the special vehicle of the Riot Police can discharge only 4 tons at one time, but it has the advantage of the accuracy.
I truly want to let you know of several things about me, but right now the top priority is the Fukushima 1. I'll visit here later.
@all ladies.
THANKS ! KISSES & HUGS !
@Mel.
ReplyDeleteP.S. The camera is shooting it from the spot 30km from the actual spot. The area 30km from the actual spot is completely safe at least now. Believe me !
@Ekaterina Yes focus on what is more important right now, but don't forget to come back & let us know your ok! I'm glad that it's safe for now to be at least 30km away from Fukushima 1. I can't help, but think of you. I am a compassionate person. May God keep you & your loved ones safe in his hands.
ReplyDelete@Mel.
ReplyDeleteIt's going to be seriously important for the next 24 hours, they say.
( ... sigh ... , 6 reactors. It's 6 ... )
But right now the most serious one today right now is the unit nr.3, although they sometimes say it's nr.4. I don't know if they are confused or the both nr.3 & nr.4 is under serious trouble which means a fight against time.
The good news is that the many roads and the railways , even the seaport and the airport are nearly finished the tentative restoration goood & safe enough to go to the actual spots to help people.
Mel, there is no electricity in the nuclear power plants area since last Friday until now, but it is nearly ready for them to use. We expect it helps them pouring seawater into the units. and they need more gasoline which still lacks.
People working there work 48 hours a day, Mel. 48 hours a day. Why do you think it possible ?
Because you from all over the world keep on thinking of them & us. We really thank you very much for your thougts and prayers. We do our best and we'll do our best.
Me ? Thanks ! I'm OK. I'm going out to buy foods for the next 3 days.
I suspend the piano lessons now. bc we have to save the gasoline, and railway service here is not good and we are not used to the blackouts. I take a train to Shibuya station. It's only one stop from Daikanyama ( the nearest railway station from our houe ). In case the train stopped for any reason, I can walk back home.
and as for the blackouts, I think I'd better not tell anybody about it, but you're all my friends, so I let you know.
In spite of this hard time, some wards among 24 wards in Tokyo are exempted from blackouts and Shibuya-ku is one of them.
It is not because I live ..... :-)))))
Because there are governmental function and embassies, and the palace & the residence of the Impereial Family in these wards.
See you later.
Hope you enjoy a lovely spring day.
and @dana. take good care of you.
Kisses & Hugs.
p.s.
My baby sis & my dad are OK, too !
@Mel.
ReplyDeleteI went to the food floor of the department store in Shibuya station, and I'm just back.
The things have been running out or short for a few days since last Friday, especially in the super market. But things are back to normal. The distribution and logistics are OK in Tokyo today. And the news say the same situation is going to happen in the disastrous area, though there are still many areas without water and electricity, but it is improving.
Though Shibuya-ku is exempted from blackouts, we save the power as much as possible. So it is a bit dark in the station and in the department store. But I think we have enough.
The railway service is less to save the power, but it recovers from 50 % to 80 % of the normal time in the center of Tokyo.
The cars are less in the city to save the gasoline which still lacks. we distribute gasoline to the disastrous area as much as possible.
A lot of people takes days off in Tokyo to save the power. and the store and office close one or more hours early.
People in the disastrous areas including the nuclear power plants can work 48 hours a day, because your thoughs and prayers encourage them to do so. Again let me please our great thanks to all of you !!!
P.S.
yes, I COULD buy eggs today !
HAPPY St. PATRICKs DAY!!!!
ReplyDeleteI think some Irish music would fit to your drinks, my dear Mel!

I'm thinking of you! And I send you all my love!
Happy St. Patrick's Day to you, ladies!
ReplyDeleteWe say green is the colour of HOPE, that is all we need!!
Have a beautiful day!
Take care!
Btw:
Unfortunately no race today!! Presume because of heavy snowfall and bad sight.
@Dana
So sorry to hear your story! Hope so much you feel better today!
Take care, dear Dana!
@Ekaterina
Thank you for reporting so clearly, Ekaterina.
Hope very much all cooling work is successful!
I understand, that it is very important to succeed.
Keep my fingers crossed for you and all Japanese people.
My thoughts are always with you, Ekaterina!
@all
Love you! Hugs & Kisses!
@all ladies.
ReplyDeleteBad news.
1.)
Cooling down operation has not started yet.
( sigh )
The level of radiation around the Fukushima 1 is high.
2.)
The government say there is the possibility of the whole area blackout ( of course Shibuya-ku is included ).
Thanks ! I love you !
If the blackouts is avoided, I'll visit you later again.
Thanks again, and I love you all !!
Kisses & Hugs !
@all ladies !
ReplyDeleteTEPCO ( Tokyo Electric Power Co. ) has just released that it can supply the power today.
So the total blackout for today ( correctly until early tomorrow morning ) was avoided.
TEPCO has checked the demand & supply of the electricity since last Friday, bc TEPCO had to stop its Nuclear Power Plants shortly after the earthquake,and as the result we had to face with the serious shortage of the electricity. And they had to think about the balance between demand & supply.
Then, late this evening, they thought the demand would surpass the supply at night. and they asked the government to order the railways to reduce the service.
It was OK today. But maybe there will be the total blackout in Tokyo sooner or later. I must get ready for that !
*update*
The cooling down operation finished safely 30 minutes ago. Although the scale of the operation today was small, I think we advanced.
In the morning, Self Defense Forces ( SDF ) triesd pouring water into the unit by the 2 helicopter twice.
and we waited, waited, and waited, then finally the Riot Police vehicle and the 5 SDF vehicles dischrged at the unit. The first one the Riot Police failed it, bc the water could not reach the unit, but the all 5 SDF vehicles accomplished the mission successfully.
We still have " Hope ". ( ... sigh ... )
@dana.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the nice videos, my dear dana ! Although my poor pc cannot show 2 of them, I enjoyed the rest 2 videos very much !
Since last Friday, time seems run slowly. I don't know why. All of my friends here say the same. Probably we're still not used to this situation yet which we've never had. It's 7 days tomorrow, and so many complicated things happened in these 7 days, and there are high possibilities the more complicated things will happen.
My dear dana, I'd like to tell you how much I feel I love Carpathian Mountains, bc it protected one of my close friends. ... :-)))
and I don't think your thyroid trouble comes from '86, bc there are so many thyroid suffering people.
In Japan, they don't sell the iodine pills in the city. We can get it only by prescription. I read in the newspaper that the government ordered the pharmacy companies to import more iodine pills. I don't know why the government don't directly order and import them.
How is the general strike there ?
I can't wait for the next Wednesday, dana. I want your doctor to make your health better.
Hope you have a restful time, my dear dana !
Kisses & Hugs !
@corinna.
ReplyDeleteThe lago di Garda is surely beautiful location, and I'm sure you enjoy the holidays there with your family, corinna ! I hope you have a nice weather in April in Italy. I remember you take a train to go there. Is it a direct train from your place ?
Have a pretty day in spring, my dear corinna !
Kisses & Hugs !
@Giffy.
ReplyDeleteMy hair is black. I sometimes color it dark brown in the hairdresser, bc black hair looks a bit heavy. But normaly my hair stays black.and my baby sis, mixed with a striped pattern of light brown & white, a striped patter of black & white, light brown, black, and white. She's so fashionable !
Hope you enjoy a pleasant day, my dear Giffy !
Kisses & Hugs !
@Nicoletta.
ReplyDeleteYou're right, my dear Nicoletta. I need a distraction. bc I've been busy with watching TV since last Friday, and also busy exchanging infos with my friends in Tokyo. The topic has been limited to the disaster and our future which does not look good.
What is worse for me is that the concerts are cancelled due to the earthquake and the troubled Fukushima 1. As you know, I often go to the concerts by the musicians from abroad, but they cancelled the visit to Japan.
I also like visiting nice places,but the railway works irregularly now.
Please don't get me wrong, my dear Nicoletta, I understand about the situation in Tokyo and Japan, but I wouldn't think it is everything.
But actually we had an earthquake one hour ago.
I think I have to improve my skill to live normaly in this condition & situation.
Hope you enjoy a lovely day in early March, my dear Nicoletta !
I'm going to take a bath now. It makes me relax.
Kisses & Hugs !
@Ekaterina
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you liked the videos, I wanted to cheer you up a little. Tell me which of them you can't see and I tell you what about are those videos.
I notice a little ray of hope in your infos about the situation in Japan and this makes me so happy! I really wish that things to turn good for you all, I hope and I pray for this!
We didn't buy iodine pills in '86, we got them from the school clinic.
I saw at the news that your government ordered the pharmacy companies to import iodine pills. I also saw the empty shelves in the supermarkets and I thought of you! How you can deal with this situation, did you buy some food supplies? And water?
No more general strike here, the people are too weak, apathetic and don't want to fight for their rights anymore. The strike started bc of the new Labor Code which makes all the employees a kind of slaves for the employers!
Yesterday the opposition launched the censure motion, but it had no luck! It failed! And all the strikers have gone home with tail between legs, as we use to say! I'm disappointed and sad!
This is the fifth month when I work just 4 hours a day and of course I earn just a half of the salary and it's very hard! The prices increased with 20%-50% in the last months for every thing: services, gasoline, food, medicine...
But when I think of your situation I realize that other people have more serious problems than me!
I have no words to thank you enough for thinking of me and my health! You're so kind and nice and friendly all the time! You're so easy to love!:)))
Have a peaceful evening, my dear Ekaterina!
May God protect you and bless you all! Hugs and kisses!
@Ekaterina Thank you for keeping us updated. I'm glad that you were able to get food. The government should order the iodine pills & give them to the people.
ReplyDelete@Dana Love the videos. Your new Labor Code sounds like Wal-Marts Labor Code. Basically they own you & you have to do what they say.
Well I'm off to work. Hopefully they let me on the register or I'm gonna come back home. I'm off light duty & it's their problem that they are stil scheduling me as a people greeter & not as a cashier.
@Mel
ReplyDeleteYou're right, they own you and they can fire you anytime they want with no explanation. They decide your salary and how many hours you have to work a week and you have no choice, just to accept their condition! And so on...
Have a good day at work, my dear Mel! Hugs and kisses!
@ekaterina i heared today, that there is 15km away from fukushima 1 a hospital in which the doc still fight for the live of some ppl there, no one knows this till today, they make some isolation inside of the hospital so now nuclear radiation can go inside the hospital and also they make the hospital save for ppl form outside which was in contact with nuclear radiation. they where just founded bc of the reason that a tv team ( i don´t know from which country) was brave enough to go inside of the 30km radius around fukushima 1! the docs also know that everything they do can´t hold up the whole nuclear radiation but they can´t let the patients alone!
ReplyDeletei go this time to italy by car. normally i go by train then i go to kufstein and from kusftein it goes a train down to verona (kufstein-wörgl-jenbach-innsbruch-brenner-gossensaß-franzensfeste-sterzing-bozen-trento-roveretto-verona nuova puerto) i see a lot during travel by train that´s why i love it so much!
@all HAPPY ST. PATRICKS DAY
@dana what about this song
i have this on my ipod and hear it during my jogging round lmao
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x-64CaD8GXw
it is from dropkick murphy
@Mel.
ReplyDeleteEvery time I open this blog, I feel very happy again. The beautiful green makes ease my nerve.
I really thank you for that, my dear Mel !
Yes, I think our government must think about the distribution of the iodine pills to the habitants around the 30km area of Fukushima 1.
btw, the relation between employee and employer is the base for the both of them. I think you'll have more opportunity to get another position in future if you keep on studying. and you MUST buy the piano for our sweet Emmy !
Have a nice weekend, my dear Mel ! Hugs !
@corinna.
ReplyDeleteThanks, my dear corinna.
yes, I remember the report of that hospital, but the further information would not come yet.I remember " isolated place inside the hospital ".
It's my guess, however, the government fear the panic in public. I think there are many people in the area suffered from the radiation.
Right now, they're trying to work hard to prevent from leaking more radiation from the Fukushima 1.
btw, corinna, thanks for your guide of the route to Garda by train ! It's so fun reading it. yes, this time you drive there, I think it's also nice !
Hope you have a pleasant weekend, my dear corinna ! If you get some information about what is happening in Japan, I'd be pleased to be informed when you have a time. Hugs !
@Ekaterina Thank you for letting us know how you are doing. Most of the time your report comes earlier than my news. Our news did report that the people of California wanted iodine pills in case the radiation blew over to them. They are so high maintenance. And the doctors told them buy iodine pills and send it to the people of Japan they're the ones who need it. Did I read you near the Imperial Palace? They will take good care of you! You are being very brave and calm. And I hope you know how much we are all thinking of you. I am sorry you must miss your beloved concerts. Soon you will be back to normal. You are strong as a people and will rebuild. Your hair sounds beautiful, is it long? BTW would your call your Baby Sis' color Calico or Tabby?
ReplyDelete@Dana I am sorry about your labor problems and strike. Hope your work hours will be back to normal soon. Glad you are feeling better though and I look forward to a good check up from your doctor. I'm glad she's a woman and your boss too? I prefer women doctors. I imagined you with dark red hair! I know you're beautiful inside and out! :)
@Nicoletta Your hair sounds beautiful too! I washed mine and it does have several colors in it. It always has so much hair product when I leave the salon I can't tell what color it is. I have no idea why it takes so long for her to do it, but my stylist is a perfectionist.
@Corinna OMG that video was hilarious. "I lost my leg." Haha! I coughed. I have never seen guys that rough looking in my life. I will have to watch more of their songs. Do you know Mumford and Sons?
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lLJf9qJHR3E&feature=fvwrel
I did not drink any green beer for St. Patricks Day. My great-grandfather on my Mom's side was Protestant Irish. I really should wear orange on St. Patrick's Day. I did bake a Shepards Pie. I am going to get a Mani/Pedi today at the Korean Salon. IDK why they don't play the Korean music Dana found, they play Country. Tomorrow we leave for our cruise, 7 Days in the Bahamas. I will find a computer on the ship and let you know if ALS is on my cruise. Otherwise, you will hear from me in a week since I don't have a laptop. I will be thinking of you all with love.
@dana.
ReplyDeleteHow are you, my dear dana ?
The 1/2 income with inflation is not easy. The inflation itself is not always bad, at least it's better than deflation, bc deflation makes economy weak. BUT 1/2 income for 5 months is already hard, I think.
How is economy in your neighboring nation Bulgaria ? If it is not good, why don't you set up the tourist office together with Bulgaria ?
I mean, it is not always wise to have a partnership only with the strong economy nation, bc it is the thing everyone think it better.
How is the relation with Bulgaria, dana ?
I often consider the not strong economy nations, I mean here the Former East Nations, had better make business together, and the tourism in Romania and Bulgaria attracts the Former West people very much. You both belong to EU, but your currency is not EURO if I'm not wrong.
So people from the former West including Japan( though it may look strange, bc we are Far-East ... :-))) )can enjoy the travel to your country at lower cost, so you can put the tourist tax on them, for example 1 EURO a day per one person, children 50 Cent. It is a tax, so it goes to the revenue.
As I mentioned before, there are countless possibilities in Romania, just think and try one of them.
Hope you have a restful and pleasant weekend, my dear dana ! Hugs ! Good night.
p.s.
Is the season over ? for our Big Guy ?
@Giffy
ReplyDeleteThanks, Sis! I do feel better, but not all the time! So even I hate to go to the doctor, I have to do it! LOL Yes, my doctor is a woman, just as my endocrinologist.
About my bosses, I have THREE!!! Believe it or not! Hahaha! They are husband and wife and their son! They all own the company! But here with me are just the old ones!
I'm sure you're a beautiful girl too and you also have a beautiful family (no wonder with two Owen Wilson with no broken nose!!) Haha!
Yesterday I didn't wear anything green but my eyes! I think it was enough! LOL
7 days in the Bahamas- sounds like a movie!:)) I wish you to have a great time and good weather! Hope you'll find a computer to keep us informed about your adventure! :))
Love you, my dear Sis! Kisses and hugs!
@Giffy.
ReplyDeleteHope you enjoy your cruise in Bahamas ! It sounds really fantastic, my dear Giffy.
and * Tunami Tip *
Of course you are safe and you know much about the sea, but in case , let me inform you of the safety during cruise. If there is an earthquake and the Tunami alert is released, please contimue to cruise to the offing. In the area around the deep sea, you can meet no Tsunami.
My hair is down to my shoulder. When I feel it difficult to put all my hair in the swimming cap, it's the time I go to the hairdresser. ... :-))) yes, swimming cap. But I think the swimming pool is now closed due to the shortage of the electricity. ...
In shibuya-ku, there are many embassies, and the residence of Prince & Princess of Hitachi. Prince Hitachi is a younger brother of Emperor.
That's why.
And my baby sis is, I think ,a mixed with tortoiseshell and a tabby.
Have a beautiful weekend , my dear Giffy ! Hugs ! Good night.
@Ekaterina
ReplyDeleteThank you my dear Ekaterina, I'm better!
How are you? I saw on tv that the situation at Fukushima is stationary, at least is not worse! They talk very much about HOPE! We all hope the things go better, even if four of six reactors still have big problems. They say you have cooled two of them.
I'm very impressed of the people that work at Fukushima, these people are heroes!
About a partnership with Bulgaria I don't know what to say, we're in the same situation, economically speaking. And the relationship between us is good, but you know that a partnership it doesn't depend on normal people, but on the both governments. As I know the tourism in Bulgaria works much better than in Romania, though we share the Black Sea seaside. Some western investors do a great job there, the services are better and cheaper than here.
We also have Danube Delta, the monasteries in Moldova etc. But first we need some wise people to make things to work!
I told you, it seems that our leaders don't care too much about what it happens with us and this country! This makes me very sad! Sometimes I feel we're helpless! Like any hope died!
Wish you a calm weekend, my dear Ekaterina! And keep the faith! Take care of you, your dad and your little baby Ekaterina! I send you my love and my good thoughts! Hugs!

@Ekaterina I saw your Emperor Akihito and his wife on the news. I was very impressed, they are a darling couple. I think you and Dana should go in the international frozen Samarle business. I think they would sell big!
ReplyDelete@Dana Hey, Pretty Green Eyes! I thought of you when I was at the nail salon. Have you ever heard the song Brown Chicken Brown Cow? I laughed so hard.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MzQ4qdlhurc
You asked about my Mom the other day (thank you) and she is doing well. I'm going to see her. She's inherited some money and is taking us on the cruise. She wants to spend time with us while she still can to create memories and not more $$. Even though we politely declined 3 times she insists. My Mom, the fortunate Pete, My dear husband and I, my Sis and her daughter, and my real Baby Sis and her husband are all going. My husband promises to dance with all the ladies in my family. I hope the cruise staff is ready for us! :0) My sons are not going. The young one is still in college. The older one (that looks like me) graduated in Dec. and starts his new job Monday. He is a digital arts major and will work in advertising. I am so proud and grateful that he was able to find a job in the arts and can begin his adult life.
While I'm gone, I will be thinking of all of you, and hope you all stay well. Miss you already. Be back soon.
@Corinna I just watched your video again, if I had DropKick Murphy on my Ipod I'd run faster to get away from those guys! LOL! They are hilarious. Do you have Spicy McHaggins on your ipod also?
ReplyDelete@Dana I forgot to tell you what Emmy did when I told her what you said. She smiled & blushed.
ReplyDelete@Giffy LOL Thats a funny video.
@Ekaterina Thank you for your updates. My news doesn't report half the things that your being told. They try to fit local & world news in just one hour. I just read that they now have electricity at Fukushima 1. http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/42144350/ns/world_news-asiapacific
@Giffy
ReplyDeleteHahaha! Thanks so much for the link, I've never heard this song before but I like it!!! And the video reminded me about Miss Piggy and Kermit!! LMAO
Oh, what nice from your mom! I think she's a very wise lady! I think beautiful memories of the time that you spend with the people you love are more important than money! And she wants to share some good time with her family!
Your husband is a real gentleman! Hope he's a good dancer and he will not step on the ladies feet! LOL Kidding!!!!
Congrats for your both sons, my dear Sis! I'm so happy that your older son found a good job! You're a happy mom and you have all the reasons to be proud! I wish them both good luck!
Be sure I'll think of you this week and I'll miss you, but in the same time I'm glad you'll spend beautiful and happy moments with the ones you love! Wish you all a lot of fun and a safe cruise! Enjoy your "7 days in the Bahamas"!! LOL
If you'll think of me, remember that I love you! :))
Kisses and hugs!
@Mel
ReplyDeleteShe's so sweet and cute! But why did she blush? LOL I really like her! I send her my love and I wish her to become a great piano player!
You have to keep your promise and to buy her a piano!:))
Hugs!
@Dana I think she is humble. I will buy her a piano! I'm gonna put the money back & watch for piano sales at the local music shops. I would have gotten it for her birthday, but it was 2 days ago & I already had her presents bought.
ReplyDelete@Mel
ReplyDeleteOh, I didn't know! Then Happy Birthday to our little lady Emmy!:))
I think she will be happy to get a piano anytime, not just as her BD present! It will be a big surprise for her!
She's lucky to have such an awesome older sister like you!LOL
