Emmy has taught herself how to play the piano. I think she's pretty good. I think she's a child prodigy. Grammy Di taught her to play Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star & Maddy(her friend) taught her the first part of a Mozart song & she taught herself the rest. It too Maddy 5 months to learn it & it took Emmy 15 minutes! I'm so proud of her.
@mel great from emmy - i like it!
ReplyDelete@ekaterina everything ok with you?
@Mel
ReplyDeleteThanks Mel, Emmy is cute!
@Ekaterina
You can imagine, that I follow the news from Japan with great interest, Ekaterina!
It should be everybody totally clear that the problems in Japan is a worldwide concern.
I sincerely hope, I can trust my intuition, it is my strongest belief that the worst can be avoided.
What I hear from the comments of our nuclear experts from ETH Zürich on TV, I am sure everything is undertaken by the nuclear experts to solve further problems. I read Japan has also asked for help from foreign nuclear experts, they should be arrived by now.
So together - of course with god's help - convenient weather situation, rain, etc. hopefully the experts get everything under control.
My sinceriest compliments to you, Ekaterina, and all the Japanes people, you are so strong and brave people. You really love your country.
You are not alone, Ekaterina!
Take care!
Hugs & Kisses!
@Mel.
ReplyDeleteDear my Mel, from the professional point of view, Emmy is a talented pianist who is on the way to be born. On the way to be born means:
* on the way *
Emmy has already the good sense of the musical harmony & rhythm and concentration.
* to be born *
There are two things for her to be born as a pianist. She needs the fingering which all her 10 fingers touch on the keyboard, and she needs the full keyboard with 88 keys, so that she will be able to express her music more freely.
and, she's so cute !!!
Then, Mel, thanks for your concern about the Fukushima. We Japanese people usually never think about the nuclear power plants except some living around there, but since last Friday it has become the top priority to talk. It's just like we all Japanese visit the nuclear physics class from time to time. * from time to time * here means that the many press conferences have been on the TV 24 hours a day by Tokyo Electric Power Co. (TEPCO), the Nuclear & Industrial Safety Agency, and Chief Cabinet Secretary.
At first, the No.2 reactor of the Fukushima No.1 power station had a trouble, to make it short, the Fukushma 1-nr.1 had a trouble. Then, the Fukushima 1-nr.3 had a trouble, and the next came the Fukushima 1-nr.2.
It's been 5 days since last Friday and we think we studied a lot about neclear physics, and feel a bit tired.
Then we were surprised to watch the TV in his morning to see the TV announcer said, " ..... then, talking about the Fukushima 1-nr.4 ..... " I said " What !? Nr.4 !? They have one more !? " Mel, ... you can inagine what I felt. ...;-)))... yes when we knew the Fukushima 1, we guessed there were Fukushima 2 maybe. But we didn't know Fukushima 1 had the 4 reactors. And this evening, that is some hours ago, when my dad and me watched the TV news, the announcer said " ... the Fukushima 1-nr.5 & 6 ... ". I looked at my dad, he left his mouth open. ... I said, " Papa, do they have totally 6 reactors !? and all in trouble !? " He said after a short silence " It seems like so. "
After we studied, we understand it is not easy to stop it work safely. It takes time.
Yes ! We must stay calm !
Hope you enjoy a lovely spring day, my dear Mel ! Kisses & Hugs !
@corinna.
ReplyDeleteThanks, corinna !
It's safe in Tokyo. We had a earthquake which I felt not so small early this morning, but we are safe.
The problem Tokyo faces with is the shortage of electricity, bc several power plants suffered from the big damages. So the life in Tokyo is a little different from the normal time, but we are safe. The transportation both on railway & road has some troubles due to the blackouts caused by the shortage of the electricity, and due to the earthquakes on last Friday,however we are safe.
But there is a vague anxiety among people. I was a little shocked to see many vacant spaces in the supermarket today. The shortage of the goods. I think it is partly from the damaged distribution due to the earthquake and also partly from the anxiety among people who fear the worst situation of the nuclear power plants. I told my dad about it this evening and he said the best thing was not to be panic and I thought it was OK I went back home from the supermarket both hands free today. ...;-))) We keep several things in stock, so I don't mind about it.
Hope you have a beautiful spring day, my dear corinna ! When do you start your spring holidays for the Garda ?
Kisses & Hugs !
@Giffy.
ReplyDeleteThanks for thinking of Japan, my dear Giffy !
btw, Giffy, is it true that our situation reported in the US as a happening in 1,000 years ? ...;-))) Actually, the 9.0 Richter Scale earthquake, the enormous Tsunami, the nuclear power plant's trouble, the shortage of the electricity, all came together at the same time. So it may be so. Lucky or unlucky, anyhow we cannot live 1,000 years, so I think I had better take it lucky. Or it's too sad.
Giffy, my daffodil are soon in bloom. I think of you !
Have a pretty spring day, my dear Giffy !
Kisses & Hugs !
@Nicoletta.
ReplyDeleteThanks, my dear Nicoletta ! I do believe your intuition. We are OK.
But I know we will have some hard time for a year or more, bc it hit our economy. However I think people escaped from the Tsunami have a mission to make my country recover. Anyhow we'll try our best!and before that, we must wait for the confirmation of the safety of our nuclear power plants. I think I feel optimistic about it, bc if you concentrate so much on this kind of matter, it makes you exhausted mentally, and it's not at all productive.
Have a beautiful day in pretty spring, my dear Nicoletta !
Kisses & Hugs !
@dana.
ReplyDeleteMy dear dana, I've worried about you so much and I'm so sorry I didn't post it earlier.
Since last Friday, so many hours of my time have been taken away by the TV.
How's your thyroid, my dear dana ? I know the thyroid makes many tricks which make you annoyed. What did your doctor judge it ? I understand lots of people have the thyroid trouble.
When we ( the all girls here ) make some trip together just like a school trip, I'll be in charge of reminding you of taking a thryroid pill. Is it at 06:30 , right ?
Hope you have a good rest, dana.
Playing with Mishu & Zorro is really nice for all of you, and talking & planning about your garden with Tudor and your dad makes your mom in the heaven smile !
Kisses & Hugs ! Good night !
@Ekaterina
ReplyDeleteOh, my dear friend! Thank you so much! You have so many troubles there but you have time to think and worry about me! You're very kind!
My thyroid goes crazy every spring, but never so badly like this year! I admit I'm not quite well, but I try to not panic!
I got a doctor appointment for next week, Wednesday, so I have to wait. I take minerals and some pills to calm down my thyroid.
Thank you again for your concern and for all the infos about your situation there! I'm worried for you and the other people and I'm thinking of you all the time! Wish you next time to not come back from the supermarket with your both hands free! It's good you keep your sense of humor!:)
Can't believe that you remember I take my thyroid pill at 6:30!! You're so sweet!:))
I saw on tv that you had another strong earthquake about an hour ago, hope you and your family are fine!
You, your dad and your little Ekaterina are always in my thoughts an in my prayers! Take care of you! Wish you a good and restful night, my dear Ekaterina! Love, kisses and hugs!
@Mel
ReplyDeleteCongrats to Emmy! It's great!! Especially because she taught herself to play piano!
Please, tell her we're very proud of her too!
She's so cute and sweet! Give her a big kiss form me!:))
@Ekaterina I was thinking about getting her a new keyboard for Christams. Kids change their minds so much & I want to make sure this is something she wants to do. Though even when she was a baby she would always play with the other kids pianos. We want to get her lessons too.
ReplyDeleteIt's good that they are keeping you informed about what's going on. I always worry about the nuclear power plants. We have 3 in Ohio. It's shocking to find out how many reactors a plant has. 6 reactors is a lot. Yes you must stay calm!
@Dana I will & I'll let you know what she says.
@Mel So cute! Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDelete@Ekaterina Good to read your news and know you are remaining strong, safe, and calm. I know everything will be done to secure the nuclear power, restore electric, restock the shelves at the grocery. You and the Japanese people are in all our thoughts and prayers. I wish we could all go on a "school trip" together. Where would we go? I would love to see you remind Dana to take her pill. We would have such fun!
@Dana Best wishes for a painless and prompt solution to your medical problems. My hope is you'll be good as new in no time and the only problem your heart gives you is too much love, an over abundance of love. I'm glad you are planning your garden and great that your men and pets are helping! What will you plant? It will soon be warm weather. I am getting a hair cut and color today. I have been hibernating all winter and need to shed some fur! Laughter is the best medicine.
@Nicoletta Hello! How is everything there?
Love to all on the blog! I'm so very glad we've met. Best wishes today and always!
@Giffy
ReplyDeleteMy dear Sis, I wouldn't have anything against if only love would make me heart troubles! LOL
Right now I feel pretty bad but I try to not pay attention! I try to seem brave, even if my legs (and my panties!) are shaking! Haha!
It's not like a tooth ache!
Wow! Why didn't you say anything, my hair needs a fresh color too! We could go together! You need "to shed some fur"! Hahaha! It's like you're talking about a sheep!! LOL
Love and laughter are the best medicine!!!:))
Here was so beautiful and warm today, almost 20*C!
I'll not plant anything yet, we just prepare the garden, I cut old branches of my roses, of the raspberry, currant and we rake the garden.
Usually we plant all kind of vegetables and herbs, just to have them fresh for cooking during the summer! Of course we also buy them from the market, our garden is not so large! LOL
I'm happy we've met too! Have a beautiful day, my dear Sis! Love you!
P.S. I've noticed you like so much to use the word "love" lately!!! LMAO
Hi Girls
ReplyDeleteLove is in the air!
Here in Switzerland was also a great day with Spring temperatures. But it will become colder and snowy in the alps. I think that is quite ok for Lenzerheide.
Did you see, Aksel is back in the top ten! Today he was 10th in the training.
Hope he is in form for the races, would be really nice for him to have a great finish of the season.
By the way, hero Cuche makes at least one year longer. He confirmed that this evening and said he has still a lot of motivation and passion.
I think that is pretty cool.
@Giffy
Today I had an appointment with the hairdresser too!
@Dana
Take care, dear Dana!
Have a pleasant evening!
@ekaterina my dear, how are you?
ReplyDeletesome more news? when i heared about the fukushima 1 nr.5&6 i thougth what, 5&6, then i googled it and i found it out! wow. so some more problems maybe!

i be with you with my thoughts! love hugs and kisses corinna
@Ekaterina How are you? I just heard on the news that the wind changed direction & instead of blowing out to sea was blowing towards Tokyo. People on the west coast of the US are freaking out & buying all the iodine tablets. If Fukushima 1 blows up the radiation won't even hit the US. The doctor on the news told the people who bought the tablets today to consider sending them over to Japan for the people there because they are the ones that need them. Like always the news made me cry. They showed 3 little kids holding up a little sign that said 'Please help us'. So I went to www.redcross.org & donated some money. I hope that all is well with you & your family.
ReplyDelete@all ladies !
ReplyDelete*NOTICE* - Urgent -
just let it cool, let it cool, and let it cool.
The reactor nr.4 of the Fukushima 1 is in serious situation.
The Self Defense Forces finally had to abandon it from the helicopter, bc it's too dangerous for them.
And now comes our Riot Police ( it does not belong to the militaly, but it belongs to the Tokyo Metropolitan Police Agency ).
The special vehicle with high pressure water cannons are to discharge at nr.4.
I think they are so reliable squad. Good Luck !
See you later, ladies. I love you all !!!
@Ekaterina
ReplyDeleteKeep my fingers strongly crossed for you and your familly, Ekaterina, and especially for the "fire brigade"!!
I have got the same picture, cooling, cooling and more cooling!
It is everything so moving, wish you all the best Ekaterina!!
Hope you could fill up your fridge and buy all the necessities this morning!
Hope despite of all the tragedy you could enjoy - especially now - the great run from Aksel and all the other cracks!
I am so sure, every distracion is useful for you!
My thoughts are always with you and all the Japanese people. We are more or less informed what is going on in Japan. Sometimes a bit late.
Send you all my love, dear Ekaterina!
@Ekaterina
ReplyDeleteAs Nicoletta said, I keep my fingers crossed for you all! The situation seems very serious!
Unfortunately I can't get many information from Japan right now bc on our news channels we can watch just the general strike in our country!
How's the supplies situation, did you buy something today?
Do you work these days? Or you had to cancel the piano lessons?
How feels your dad? Hope you all are fine! Take care, my dear Ekaterina!
Send you my love and my good thoughts! Hugs!
We got a smile today on ALS blog. That should cheer us up!
ReplyDelete@Ekaterina I think of you everyday and keep you and your family in my prayers. Hope they are able to cool the tower...safe wishes to the riot police. Take care.
@Dana I'm using the word love so much that I'm hoping it keeps you well. I'm worried about your legs and panties shaking. I hope your kidding. I wish your doctor would see you sooner, it's too hard to wait and worry. It would have been great to go to the hairdresser with you! We could have gossiped while our color was processing! I was there for 3 hours. It was hard work! LOL! I look like a new woman and not a shaggy sheep anymore.
@Nicoletta How did your hair turn out? I love mine. My hairdresser was so funny. I should have been scared when she showed up with bright pink hair. She had just been to a hairdresser's convention and she bought new expensive scissors and she was excited to use them. I think my hair is the shortest it's ever been but that's ok. It will grow! Haha! And my color is not pink, it's dark blonde again.
@Corinna I think we should plan our field trip to see you in Italy for Easter. We will all be ready for a vacation by then. Easter is late this year isn't it? Sounds wonderful!
Warm hugs and kisses all around. And yes, Whole lotta love.
@Giffy
ReplyDeleteHi! I'm still alive! lol
And I hope to be alive till next Wednesday when I have my appointment to the doctor! Her book is full until then!
Don't worry, Sis, today I can say I feel better! Thanks for taking care of me!:))
Yeah, I think it would have been great to go together to the hairdresser! We would had so much fun!:))
I don't think any kind of blond fits me, I think dark red is better for me! I'm too pale for blond hair, I'd look like a ghost! Haha!
I'm so happy to see Aksel's smile again! He looks great! And I'm happy for his today podium! I was at work when he had the race, but I watched him with my lady boss! LOL She's 67 y.o. and she said he's a handsome young man! I didn't tell her that I call him "handsome"! Haha!
How's your mom? And her Pete? LOL Give her my best regards!
Love you, my dear Sis! Have a beautiful day!
@giffy oh that would be great we all together down on the lago di garda! haha
ReplyDelete@ekaterina how are you today? any news?!
@all ladies !
ReplyDeleteFirst of all, let me express my special thanks to all of you !!!
yes, Aksel is back. and it's so nice we'll be able to see Cuche next season again !!!
Now back to the report.
We have had several complicated problems since last Friday, as you recognize.
*1* Earthquakes
It gave us the damages, mostly the infrastructure, such as road, seaport, railway and airport. and also lifeline such as electricity, water and gas. and then building and house.
Fire also broke out.
And the earthquakes this time cover the vast areas. Japan consists of 48 prefectures, and 6 among these 48 suffered seriously.
*2* Tunamis
They destroyed many cities and towns. Tsunamis came many times and were very high. The areas on the coast which were suffered from Tsunamis have been experienced them several times in history, so many of them built the high wall as high as 10m, but they were more than 10m this time.
Tsunamis took a heavy toll of lives.
*3* Evacuation.
The evacuation places are set near the actual spot, usually in the school and the public building. As they are in the disastrous areas, there are no infrastructure and no lifeline.
*1* + *2* = *3*
*4* Shortage.
Anyhow the disastrous areas are vast. and the infrastructure had big damages.
As the result, logistics don't work well.
*5* The Fukushima 1.
..... sigh .....
The nuclear reactors are built to be safe. and it still remains safe, and I hope it'll be safe.
When the earthquake happened, they were swichted off automatically. It's OK. So we only had to cool them down, and it's not difficult. BUT Tunami destroyed the cooking system.
I think you've ever heard about Chernobyl. The problem of Chernobyl was Criticality ( nuclear fission chain-reaction ). So the case of Fukushima 1 is diffrent from Chernobyl.
As you see, some of the reactors had explosion outside the reactors. They are hydrogen explosion.
But the nuclear power plants flow the radiation when they had some troble. and that's very thing we face now.
I'm sleepy tonight, so the rest of my thought will be posted here tomorrrow.
Thansk again, all ladies ! Kisses & Hugs !
Good night .
*3* Evacuation & Logistics.
@Ekaterina
ReplyDeleteYou need some good rest, my dear! You're very stressed and it's no wonder with all the troubles that you and the other Japanese have to face these days!
I'm sure Aksel's podium cheered you up today!
I know what you mean about Chernobyl, we had to deal with it in '86! I remember they gave us Iodine pills to protect us from the radiation. I still feel it's effect! Why do you think I have this problems with my thyroid???
Wish you a restful night, my dear Ekaterina! Keep the faith! You and your nation are always in our thoughts and prayers!
Love, hugs and kisses!
@Giffy
ReplyDeleteI am very glad to hear, that you did not leave the hairdresser with violet or orange hair! LOL! 3 hours, wow that is a long time!
My hairdresser and I are very courageous to mix new colour combinations. At the moment I have a chocolate/ gold/medium brown mixture! Love it!
@Dana
Did you say you have got to much radiation with Tschernobyl? That is really aweful, Dana!
I can perfectly imagine, today was your day, and you had a very big smile too!
@Corinna/all ladies
A trip to the lake of Guarda together would be extraordinairy & absoltely wonderful!
@Ekaterina
Wish you a calm night with a good and healthy sleep! You need it, Ekaterina!
Wind turned in the right direction later in the day, that is so important. Hope so much its stays like that!
I heard right now, that a drone of the U.S. Air Force should bring more clarity about the inside of the nuclear reactor Fukushima.
At the moment, all my toughts go to the 50 brave men still working in the nuclear reactor. What a terrible situation, hope so much they do not ruin their lives. GOD may stay with them, PLEASE!
@All ladies
Have a beautiful day!
Take care!
@Nicoletta
ReplyDeleteI don't know how much radiation I got with Chernobyl but I know the nuclear cloud passed over my country at that time, we're pretty close to Ukraine. I know many women of my generation couldn't have kids, I know that many kids developed all kind of cancer, especially leukemia! As I remember, at that time they said that the northern region of Romania was the most affected and I'm lucky to live to south and the Carpathian Mountains stopped the clouds in a way!
Yes, today Aksel's smile brightened my day! :) And I'm so happy for his podium!
Wish you a pleasant evening/night! Hugs and kisses!
@Ekaterina I hope that you got some sleep. Anything new to report?
ReplyDelete
