Helmets

Love the new helmet!!! That's awesome that his original helmet for this season doesn't have any scratches on it. That's very surprising.

    Welcome back, my dear Sis! I'm happy to see you!

    Love you!

  6. @Dana Hi Sis! I missed you too! Glad all is well on the blog since I was gone. I had a good trip, it was good to see my Mom. I had a lot of fun with her. We went to see the movie The King's Speech. It was a really good movie. I could not dislodge Pete...LOL!

    My computer screen died, it was flickering black before I left, and I'm using a TV for a monitor. It works but I really need a laptop.

    I was just reading through the old comments. I wonder if ALS had a concussion? Then the next day he won, that's just crazy. Now today he finished 4th? Bless him, he is quite a competitor! I do like the new helmet. Wouldn't it be cool if they put his face or likeness in a Viking helmet on his helmet! Needs more Norwegian flags on it though.

  7. @Nicole Dana and I see you on. We watch the traffic feed. When is your Spring Break? Are you going anywhere? We never heard about your Puerto Rico Christmas trip?

    I'm very glad you had a nice trip and that everything it's OK with your mom! I was afraid you will be very tough to Pete, so, in a way, I'm glad you couldn't dislodge him!! Haha!

    I haven't seen The King's Speech but I've heard it's a good movie! Hope to watch it soon!

    About Aksel's helmet, I agree: needs more Norwegian flags on it or better just one bigger flag! LOL

    Nicole visits us from time to time but she has no time to read our old comments, so she tell us a few words just to let us know she's fine! LOL
    But I was lucky to get some beautiful pics from Puerto Rico!!! It's an amazing place!

    @Nicole
    How are you, my beautiful Young'un? Hope you have fun with your mates and you're not bored anymore!
    Are you going home today?
    Te iubesc si te pup! LOL

  9. @Everybody Thanks for the birthday wishes!

    Kinda sad Aksel didn't win on my birthday. :-( Though he won on my best friends birthday...which also happens to be Valentine's Days. Last year he won gold at the olympics the day after my birthday. 4th is good, but I was hoping for something shiney from at least one of the Vikings. Well at least Ligety got me gold. Though he's not in my Top 5 Favorite Alpine Skiers. He's in the top 10 though.

    Better luck next time for the Vikings. :-)

    Actually it's also interesting to look the history of opera costume, bc it reflects the time when it is performed. But the new production often tries to neglect the original intension of the work. I like the both classical stage and modern stage so long as it co-cooperates with music itself, but I sometimes like to close my eyes to just concentrate on music. ... ;-)))

    I'm inspired by your idea of shipping. ... :-)))
    And, I bought a small doll of squirrel covered with rabbit fur today and gave it to my baby sister. She was playing with it while I worked on the cabbages.

    At last I started my second attempt just after I posted my comment in ALS.
    ... cotinues ...

  18. @dana.
    I bought 2 nice cabbages in the morning and I also bought a new wooden lid which is bigger and I thought it works better to make my cabbbages sink.
    It took longer to make the whole pickled cabbages this time, bc the spine was so stubborn. So I removed it very carefully not to crash.
    When I bought the new enamelware container last year for TODAY, I thought it was so big. But I found 2 cabbages were maximum. The person in DARIE told me last month that they use the very large container like barrel, bc it is their bussiness to serve sarmale. She also said the more cabbages the better especially when they think of fermentation.
    As you remember, I made only one cabbages last year and this time two. So I hope two cabbages help each other to ferment smoothly.
    I placed the beautiful enamelware container on the counter inside entrance of our house. Next to it is the big flower vase which flowers of peach are in. When my dad's guests visited us at 16:00, they looked at it curiously, so I explained about sarmale. ... :-)))
    I think I wait for 2 weeks from today, and advance into the second stage.

  23. @Mel

    Thanks Mel, for posting your favorites! I love them too!

    I like also Ted Ligety. He has a very special voice or way of speaking English, and he is a great Slalom skier.

    My new star at the ski haven is Justin Murisier, he is only 19 years old and a newcomer in the WC. He is trained by the coach Steve Locher, which had a bad accident in Aare (Sweden, you remember perhaps.

    Here an article, unfortunately only in German!

    http://www.skionline.ch/index.php?section=news&cmd=details&newsid=23065&teaserId=1

    And last but not least, I like Christoph Innerhofer. He is a very positive man. I saw an interview with him and he spoke about some injuries that he had to cure before this season. I was very inpressed, I liked how he thinks.

    Carlo Janka and Silvan Zurbriggen are ok, but not so much charismatic. You know what I mean, ladies. LOL!

    @All
    Have a beautiful Sunday!!

  25. I'm sad about Aksel's knee, I wonder which one? Hope he feels better soon and has someone to take care of him, make tea, turn the tv channels. I always say that but now we have tv remotes...And of course all the men I know like to flick the channels themselves. LOL! The photo's of his crash at the finish are terrible and I bet he had a concussion. I don't think about the punishment their bodies take when they are practicing their sport. Good thing they love it so much!

    @Dana Hi! Sis! Yes, I wasn't too hard on Pete. My Mom says she needs to take care of someone and it might as well be him. I guess we all need someone to love!

    @Nicoletta My youngest son looks a little like Ted Ligety but I've never heard him speak. I should google it.

    @Ekaterina My dear I am so excited about your cabbages. Would love to see the look on your Father's guests face when they saw the cabbages! :)

    @Corinna Glad you have work that keeps you busy and that you enjoy!

    Hope everyone has a great week. It's President's Day here, how do you like that holiday? I celebrated by snowblowing my driveway again...

  26. @Ekaterina
    I think your cabbages will have a great time together! LOL It's no tragedy if the cabbage crash a little, we even make a deep cut in its middle to let the brine to get inside. Anyway the leaves from the middle are to small for wrapping sarmale in them and you have to chop them finely.
    I think you didn't forget you need one big tablespoon of coarse salt for EVERY liter of water you pour in the container.

    LOL What your father's guest said when you explained him about sarmale?:)))

    I wish you success, my dear Ekaterina! And I can't wait you to tell me how the first stage of the process goes!
    Kisses and hugs!

    @Giffy
    Hi my lovely Sis! I think you did the right thing allowing Peter to stay by your mom side! LOL
    Though I picked up a song, from my dad to your mom for the wedding party!! LMAO I don't know if my dad knows this song but it doesn't matter anymore! Haha! Hope at least you'll like the song:

    Wish you a great new week! Love you!

  27. @Dana ROFLOL! I wish we could play that song at our parents wedding! Will your Dad dance like George Michael? Keep the song anyway, you never know what might happen. There's still hope! I was just listening to Ted Ligety's voice and they were playing Motley Crue Kick Start My Heart. You should google that, do you know it? Sounds like you! You can dance around to that!

    @Nicolleta I watched Truth in Motion: Ted Ligety and I liked his voice. It's almost West Coast sounding but nice. I don't know anyone from Utah so don't have anything to compare it to?

    Have you guys Youtube searched ALS 2011? Some interesting stuff comes up. I'm just sayin'...Bless him. He's a sweet young man.

  28. @Giffy
    I'm glad you like the song!!! I told you my dad is not a great dancer! Haha!
    Where did you listen Ted's voice? I bet it's not as sensual as Aksel's! LMAO And Morten's voice!!!! Have you ever heard him talking? Hehe!
    I like Kick Start My Heart, but to be honest I'm not so into Motley Crue, I don't know why!

    Now I'm listening Tinie Tempah-Written In The Stars! LOL

    And I like this guy, I mean as a singer, it seems to me his style is something between John Mayer and Michael Buble! Don't you think?
    This song is for you, dear Sis! Haha!

  31. @dana.
    Don't worry about it, my dear dana !
    I keep the formula as,
    1 tbsp of coarse salt : 1 liter of water

    btw, I often wonder what my baby sister dreams about during her sleep, too. about a sexy tomcat, maybe, bc she looks at some cats in the garden from the window. I simply explain her that they are the animals called cat. ... :-))) So I don't think she believes she is a cat...

    @dana. & @Giffy.
    The pair of my cabbage enjoy the honeymoon right now. I'm going to let them do for a while, and I open the lid of container this weekend and ask them, " May I help you ? ".

    yes, my dad's guests are so much interested in it. I explained them how to make it. We also talked about the mixed culture in the area in Europe. I think Nicoletta is quite right about the idea that the kitchen tells ao many things about the history and culture of the nation.

    Hope you have a fun today ! Hugs !
