@dana LOL Well, we had a late lunch too! We ate around...what time was that???....1:47pm and I gulfed it down! It was pretty small so it didn't take too long! LOL ;D
So Germany won! I thought that was a crazy game! Fast movement, but pretty bad possession on both sides! It was raining, there was booing, there was sliding, and challenging...surprisingly, not too many yellow cards! That was nice! So the game actually flowed! That was a good thing but I felt that both teams were lacking something! You could tell they were fighting for that 3rd place...the fight was there...but I didn't feel the organization or the technique was there...or at least not polished enough to impress me! And I feel bad for Forlan for missing that free kick so close to the end, but in the end Germany takes it! Looks like Paul was right!!! ;D
*sigh* only ONE more game tomorrow!!! :{

özil was another time not as present as in the first games. he pretty much sucked. he lost a lot balls and could have shot a few time instead of carry the ball over the line. :-(
but in the end we won.. and Müller scored again! :-) with 1 game missing he has now 5 goals. :-)

ReplyDeleteSo that was an intensely physical game! In my opinion, there wasn't much technique. It was all pushing and shoving and challenges! 13 yellow cards and 1 red! One of those yellows should've been a red! The one from De Jong...kicking Alonso in the chest! Clearly wasn't going for the ball! But it was only a yellow! And the yellow to Iniesta for taking off his shirt! Didn't he learn not to do that after the New Zealand game? Pure stupidity! And both sides had great opportunities to make some goals! Netherlands had Robben making some good runs, but unfortunately for him, Casillas was always there! And two of the times, Casillas was far from his post...a definite danger zone but the ball, luckily, clipped his foot for the first one, and thankfully, went straight to him the second time! But that was too much physicality in my opinion! Lots of stops and starts! Both teams were definitely showing their thirst for that win! Unfortunately, they had to show it by proving taht they can challenge late and tackle brutally! And they showed that when they had the opportunities to shoot, they chicken out! Wide shots, over the post, missing passes...where was the accuracy??? And there weren't even that many attempts at goals in the first place; not in the regular period of the game at least! Those 90 minutes were mostly played in the center of the field with foolish passes...and back-and-forth movement...with poor possession! The goals, or shots, didn't start coming until the additional time! That's when the momentum started picking up a little bit...but you could tell the players were tired and frustrated! There were a few moments that I was worried that the players would take it too far with the ref...and sometimes that did happen! Either way, besides the yellow that should've been red, I think the players that got booked definitely deserved it! And even though Iniesta had two good chances to make a goal, and he lost the ball, he succeeded in the third attempt! So the best team won!

I was screaming so loud, my throat freakin' hurts now! It's so hoarse!!!! But that was freakin' awesome! I was not expecting that goal whatsoever...especially not from Iniesta! He definitely shocked me with that one! It was so awesome! Like I said earlier, I was a little disappointed with the players' performances! Jesus Navas had some great crosses and nobody there to receive them! And Villa and Iniesta had great chances that flopped! I think each Spanish player made some sort of crucial mistake during that game! But it was still freakin' awesome! I jumped up so fast that my glasses flew off my head!!!! My mom and I were screaming like crazy!!!! That was awesome! I feel sorry for the Netherlands getting to the final 3 times and not winning but hey, at least they have a silver medal to represent their hard work!!!
But Spain....whew! That was awesome! That was freakin' awesome! My throat still hurts!!!

ReplyDeletehow are you?! just got back from a shopping trip right after my first day of work...
so while i was ill my boss gave everything that needed to be done from my work to my co-worker.. and he decided to be sick on thursday and friday.. so all the stuff is still on my desk! :-/ why couldn´t my boss do something of it? (just a rethorical question)
shopping was much more better... i found some surfshorts :-) my friend and i plan to do a windsurfing class in about 3 weeks!! haha... that will be fun... haha ;-)
i won´t tell where and when exactly! haha
so how is everybody else?
we had a bad thunderstorm today in my region, while i was out for lunch it hit so heavy the city i work in.. the wind blew everything around i couldn´t see anything bc sand flew in my eyes! :-( my skin was covered with black sand after that... that was strange!!
there are several train tracks not working since 8 hours or more in the most important area. there were several tornados (which we normally don´t have here).
but one plus... now it´s less hot so i might have a good sleep! :-)

ReplyDeleteThank God this Monday is over! I was all alone in the office today, my one workmate is on vacation and the other one called off sick. :/ So needless to say I was swamped and had 3 phone lines to answer. I think I'll be hearing phones ringing in my sleep tonight! :(
Time to relax and chill tonight with the fam...thunderstorms are rolling in, its really hot and humid here again, so I better get going. I just wanted to stop in and say HI to my favorite girls!
The Zumba party yesterday was a blast! It was outside and lasted from 1:30 to 6pm...I was toast when I got home. I hope to have some pictures to share soon. Maybe even a video if I can figure out how to post it. :)

...so Band yesterday!
I feel so old!!! I'm considered a Super Senior because I graduated but decided to come back to march...and pretty much the entire band is new! It's exciting because it means that people are interested in what we do...but it's also problematic because we have a lot to teach them! :/ And yesterday was no exception! Yes, it's the first day (and I definitely found out that I'm out of shape...gotta get my calves toned ;D)! Anyway, as always, people forget their hats, their sunglasses, their sunscreen, their MUSIC (the most important part)! :O We send out information for a reason! Oh, and not to mention the people that don't eat or drink plenty of water before they get there!!! Where are the parents??? And where's the thinking?? I mean, what do they expect when we're marching in the sun, heat and humidity...on pavement?????? :O
So, like any other first day of band...it was exciting to be there (except I didn't want to go at first...as usual) but it was definitely frustrating too! ...and it doesn't help that I am a perfectionist, especially when it comes to something I'm so passionate about like marching band! So...I had to think twice before I chewed out some of the newbies! I'll give them a little time...but next week, they better not expect special treatment! LOL ;D

@Kristen I agree Monday's suck, so if Tuesday isn't better, I'm going to start packing copious amounts of alcohol in my lunch! I like the whole Siesta attitude in Mexico & think it needs to be put into the US work day!
@Mel Kinda sounds like Amanda is quite the BITCH! I don't think you need to be devious, people like her usually have a way of digging their own graves so to speak! ReplyDeleteMy kiddos are on their "Daddy Vacation" so, I went on a last minute, whirlwind 7 day trip along the coast of Mexico with my Aussie friend Dingo. He was promoting his windsurfing/kiteboarding company and I was enjoying the sun, sand, surf and Margaritas along the way! I got back home to Oregon on Sunday! It was total fun!
However, getting back into the real world really SUCKS!
