@Coninna We live on a lake and we have a little boat that we floated around in all weekend. It was a lot of fun. I baked cupcakes, and we grilled chicken. It was a good time. What flavor of gelato did you have?
@Corinna Yes, I love lemoncello, good to drink isn't it? A popular drink here is Mojito, which is lime/rum/mint with crushed ice. But I'm not a big drinker either...

I think shaved ice is liked crushed ice, very fine pieces, with tropical fruit syrup or flavors poured on top. They have very strong coffee in Maui, is Aksel a coffee drinker? And also Maui onions are famous, a real mild delicious onion, when grilled or fried. I sound like a cooking show! :)
@giffy i don´t know if coffee is really cheaper in holland and copenhagen is in denmark so i also don´t know how much coffee cost there. but i know that coffee is a little bit cheaper in italy.

Okay, so game commentary: I was cheering for the Netherlands the entire time! It took a while for the game to get going but that first goal was great! And the second one for Netherlands was so unexpected...it went by so quickly, I wasn't even sure what had happened! I was really excited that Netherlands was in the lead 3:1...and then Uruguay got that second goal! I have to admit, it was a pretty good score! But I was praying that Uruguay wouldn't tie it! And of course, there was enough time for the Netherlands to keep possession, but there was also enough time for Uruguay to tie the game! And then, the additional time starts! Okay, ref...it's called a watch and a whistle! You look at your watch, then blow the whistle! The additional time was 3 minutes! Only 3!! Not 4 and a half!!! I was freaking out! Yelling at the ref through the tv...to blow the dumb whistle and stop the game! And of course, my mom is freaking out yelling at the ref NOT to blow the whistle! And then, he does...but it's for a yellow card?!?! What in the world??? And then he lets the game go one for another minute!!! I don't know why he wasn't paying attention to the time...but I was this close to losing my voice because I was so mad the whistle wasn't being blown!!!! So anyways, it's a European Final!! Can't say I didn't see that coming!
I hadn't too much spare time the last time. Had a number of seminars to teach and other jobs to do. A friend of mine closes her riding school at the end of august. There are still some horses / ponies to sell and we have to arrange a few things. The young mare isn't sold till now...not that I'm angry about that fact...but she needs time ;-) And then there's WM... I always say my days are too short Tomorrow I've to cheer up the German team...and that will be hard work cause the octopus-oracle today was against us *lol*

@Nicole I was in PR as part of a Bahama cruise. What fun. We paid for the excursion only to find out the tour and drinks were free. Bah! Should have taken a $3 water taxi from the cruise line. But it was beautiful and fun.

Summertime is so busy for all of us, I've noticed that both blogs have been super slow...they'll pick up again I have no doubt. The group we've got on here is awesome and eventhough we aren't all chatting like we used to be we never forget each other and pop in when we can (speaking for myself).
I hope all you gals being affected by the heat and humidity stay nice and cool. Temps were well over 100F here, I passed a sign outside that read 109 today and it's only going be worse tomorrow. :/ It's hard to believe only 5 months ago we were buried in over 2 ft of snow! :D
I wish I could watch the Germany/Spain game, no access to it while at work :( I'm rooting for Germany (for you Teekanne!!).

@nicole: you saw that van Bommel lay on the ground for several minutes in the additional time. so the ref for sure let them play longer... i really was cheering for Uruguay at the end to tie. but unforutnately it didn´t work out. it´s just bc the second goal wasn´t a goal. if was definitely offside. but the first and third goal of the Dutch team were great. So we see you in the final!!

Just got home and it feels like a sauna outside, the temp in my car for outside read 105F! I can't imagine doing Zumba in this heat, we're going to need to be careful. :/

@Krys I had a great birthday, thanks! I had the day off due to the holiday, got to sleep in for a change, hubby made me breakfast, and I relaxed all afternoon...it was wonderful! Then we went out for dinner.
Oh don't worry, our instructor is really good with giving us water breaks and making sure everyone is ok...its just kinda scary b/c it's never been this hot out before.
@Mel...I know what you mean about the AC's...I think the power companies are cutting back so we don't have a full power outage...I like it cold in my house though so...lol! We're surviving best as can be...hang in there girl!

About the weather: It's so odd how hot it's getting! It's global warming! It's been in the 100's (F) ;P over here this entire week and it's not going to stop soon! ...I hope it ends by next week! Otherwise, our band practices will have to be moved inside.... :/ scratch that, that would be a nice thing! ;D LOL
Okay, so commentary: I'm really sorry about the German loss but I have to be honest, they weren't on top of their game! They seemed kind of asleep out there and whenever they got possession of the ball, it looked like they didn't know what to do! And they had a tough time getting through the Spanish defense! Now, I thought that Spain handled the ball really well! Possession from the get-go and many shots! ...not too many on goal, but still a lot of attempts! Neuer did really well to block those! But overall, I think that Spain really brought some game! They showed much more potential, and I think they proved that they do deserve to be in the final (the first time for Spain too)! So in the end, and judging by what I saw today, I do think that the better team won! Sorry Germany! :/ Netherlands v Spain...I'm leaning towards Spain again! But like any other football game, you can't really see what's coming! ;D ;D ;D
btw, my mom's reaction to the game was priceless! She came home from work with just 2minutes of regular time left! I walked out, with this sad-looking face (thinking that I could fool her)! So she walks in, sees 0:1, mumbles a few bad words, and then she bursts out screaming and jumping! She had thought that Germany were in the lead...but nope, it was Spain! She made me laugh so hard!!! ;P It was a pretty great reaction! ;D
congrats to spain.. what a poor game for us. özil was completely out of the game, boateng had a lot problems so podolski needed to helf a lot in the defence so no power and time for the offence. :-( Trochowski should have been out after 10 Minutes.. ok i´m not the bundestrainer! ;-)
but i have to say: i´m still not convinced of spain. ok they have a brilliant passing but we only missed to score. that´s soccer :-( next game is saturday... hope they can motivate for the game! :-)
@Kristen Blackouts in the summer suck. Though we live across the street from a guy who works for the power company so we usually get ours turned back on rather quickly. Last time we had a blackout people from work told me they were gonna come over to my house to have a hot shower. I like it cold in my house too. LOL
@nicole: i think the motivation was there only the fear of getting the goal against us was bigger to play our game or at least play more offensive.

I think shaved ice is liked crushed ice, very fine pieces, with tropical fruit syrup or flavors poured on top. They have very strong coffee in Maui, is Aksel a coffee drinker? And also Maui onions are famous, a real mild delicious onion, when grilled or fried. I sound like a cooking show! :)

Okay, so game commentary:
I was cheering for the Netherlands the entire time! It took a while for the game to get going but that first goal was great! And the second one for Netherlands was so unexpected...it went by so quickly, I wasn't even sure what had happened! I was really excited that Netherlands was in the lead 3:1...and then Uruguay got that second goal! I have to admit, it was a pretty good score! But I was praying that Uruguay wouldn't tie it! And of course, there was enough time for the Netherlands to keep possession, but there was also enough time for Uruguay to tie the game! And then, the additional time starts! Okay, ref...it's called a watch and a whistle! You look at your watch, then blow the whistle! The additional time was 3 minutes! Only 3!! Not 4 and a half!!! I was freaking out! Yelling at the ref through the tv...to blow the dumb whistle and stop the game! And of course, my mom is freaking out yelling at the ref NOT to blow the whistle! And then, he does...but it's for a yellow card?!?! What in the world??? And then he lets the game go one for another minute!!! I don't know why he wasn't paying attention to the time...but I was this close to losing my voice because I was so mad the whistle wasn't being blown!!!!
So anyways, it's a European Final!! Can't say I didn't see that coming!

I hadn't too much spare time the last time. Had a number of seminars to teach and other jobs to do. A friend of mine closes her riding school at the end of august. There are still some horses / ponies to sell and we have to arrange a few things. The young mare isn't sold till now...not that I'm angry about that fact...but she needs time ;-)

Summertime is so busy for all of us, I've noticed that both blogs have been super slow...they'll pick up again I have no doubt. The group we've got on here is awesome and eventhough we aren't all chatting like we used to be we never forget each other and pop in when we can (speaking for myself).
I hope all you gals being affected by the heat and humidity stay nice and cool. Temps were well over 100F here, I passed a sign outside that read 109 today and it's only going be worse tomorrow. :/ It's hard to believe only 5 months ago we were buried in over 2 ft of snow! :D
I wish I could watch the Germany/Spain game, no access to it while at work :( I'm rooting for Germany (for you Teekanne!!).

@nicole: you saw that van Bommel lay on the ground for several minutes in the additional time. so the ref for sure let them play longer...
i really was cheering for Uruguay at the end to tie. but unforutnately it didn´t work out. it´s just bc the second goal wasn´t a goal. if was definitely offside.
but the first and third goal of the Dutch team were great.

About the weather: It's so odd how hot it's getting! It's global warming! It's been in the 100's (F) ;P over here this entire week and it's not going to stop soon! ...I hope it ends by next week! Otherwise, our band practices will have to be moved inside.... :/ scratch that, that would be a nice thing! ;D LOL
Okay, so commentary:
I'm really sorry about the German loss but I have to be honest, they weren't on top of their game! They seemed kind of asleep out there and whenever they got possession of the ball, it looked like they didn't know what to do! And they had a tough time getting through the Spanish defense! Now, I thought that Spain handled the ball really well! Possession from the get-go and many shots! ...not too many on goal, but still a lot of attempts! Neuer did really well to block those! But overall, I think that Spain really brought some game! They showed much more potential, and I think they proved that they do deserve to be in the final (the first time for Spain too)! So in the end, and judging by what I saw today, I do think that the better team won! Sorry Germany! :/ Netherlands v Spain...I'm leaning towards Spain again! But like any other football game, you can't really see what's coming! ;D ;D ;D
btw, my mom's reaction to the game was priceless! She came home from work with just 2minutes of regular time left! I walked out, with this sad-looking face (thinking that I could fool her)! So she walks in, sees 0:1, mumbles a few bad words, and then she bursts out screaming and jumping! She had thought that Germany were in the lead...but nope, it was Spain! She made me laugh so hard!!! ;P It was a pretty great reaction! ;D
LOL Lars posted another pic about those extra big parking spaces for women! I still think they're trying to say that women are fat! ;P

ReplyDelete@Kristen Blackouts in the summer suck. Though we live across the street from a guy who works for the power company so we usually get ours turned back on rather quickly. Last time we had a blackout people from work told me they were gonna come over to my house to have a hot shower. I like it cold in my house too. LOL
