No Didier No!!!

I'm totally gonna miss seeing his helmets. I'm both sad & happy that he is retiring. It's always good to retire on a good note rather than a low note. I wonder what he will do now...

  1. Wow Mel, you give me fever!

Thanks for all the great pictures, so nice to see our friend Didier! His helmets are legendary, I love them too!

What he is gonna do?? He looks for a good wife, will have at least four children, and will live in hapiness the whole life long!

No, kidding! But he would be an excellent papa and a great husband, who knows what comes because he has now more time to find a suitable girl! HaHa

Honestly, I think he will do something within his beloved ski sport, train and coach young skiers, etc.

I regret his retirement also very much, but I understand his decision, it is the right moment to leave! But without Didier, it will not be the same again! Snifff!!

The only thing to do, enjoy his last races as much as you can!

Hugs & Kisses to all Ladies! Love you all!

  3. @Nicoletta I'm sure he will find himself a very good wife now that he will have more time for it. He would make a great ski coach!

I noticed when I got on the font size changed on the comments. I could figure out how to fix it so I change the whole thing. I kinda like this layout. It reminds me of an old leather trunk. School is back in & I'm so happy! After being trapped in the house for a month...well not really, but it felt like it...I'm very glad to be out with people around my own age & who are trying to better their lives.

Have a safe and pleasant drive to Kitz, corinna ! Is your little niece with you ?

    @Nicoletta
    @dana
Thank you for the warm-hearted words for Birgit.

yes, FB is something I'm going to try this year. But right now, my time seems to be occupied by other things like the hospital matters. As Nicolettchen says it's a long period. I still cannot imagine what's going on.
So, I go to the hospital in the same week as dana does.

    @Nicoletta
    @corinna
At last I buy the big dictionary. German - Japanese & Japanese -German. The dictionary I have now is small and I asked one of my Japanese friends which one is the best. German is not so popular in Japan, so naturally not so many people buy it, as the result, the price is the double as English dictionary.
I ordered these 2 ones last week and I'm going to get them tomorrow. I ordered. yes, bc even the big book shops don't have the stock of these kind.

*My agenda of the year of the water dragon, which starts next Monday, 23rd.
    1). The surgery.
2). The surgery which I need to visit TWMU from time to time even after the surgery to check the condition.
    3). FB.
    4). German.
    5). Summer vacation in Germany.

    What are yours ?

Hope school goes well, I can understand you it is necessary to have people in your age around you! People with the same aim, becoming more educated and creating a better life!

Wish you once more good luck for all surgeries, Ekaterina!

Love your decision to learn German!

For the start dictionary is great and you really need one!

Perhaps you find more suitable material in Germany!
You could buy simple books for tourists, easy written books for adults, learner books for students!

Did you ever took into consideration to look at the internet where to buy suitable German books, Ekaterina?
I by mysel have no experience with this big book shop at the internet.

Eventually you can buy a magazin in a newspaper shop? Even if you do not understand every word, you could start with some translation!

    Good luck, Ekaterina!

    Congrats to Didier !
    and,
Thanks for the great link, Nicolettchen !

btw, I could not wait for tomorrow, and I went to the book shop to get the new dictionaries. ... ;-))) bc the shop called me yesterday that they were ready.
The German-Japanese dictionary has 160,000 words and the Japanese-German dictionary has 79,000 words. So fun !
I have the grammar book already, so I learn little by little. I think NZZ will be one of my text, Nicolettchen.
I'm so excited to have the new dictionaries.

and I really thank you for thinking of my hospital matters. They are too big for me to even believe. I think it goes step by step. I suppose the first half of this year is very special for me, however it's unpleasant, but inevitable.

Have a beautiful Sunday, dear Nicoletta.

i had a great day today in kitzbühel! or better say the second part of the day was great!

we came to kitzbühel, and we searched for the right place, i was first standing in the near of the leader box, but the friends of my dad which was with us, said no, not there!
so we had to change the place, bc they didn´t let me stand alone there!
they stands then on a place with bad view, you didn´t saw the finish, only the finish line and not the whole slope bc of the boxes from which the music came out, and it was loud, so loud that you couldn´t talk!

in the break btw the first and second run i went down to the place where i wanted to stand, and i stand there then alone for the second run and it was great, you saw every racer right then when they came trought this two pic read walls and then there i got my second sign from aksel on my flag! he first looked a bit strange, bc the flag was not outspread, i had let i folded and so he saw only red white and blue, but then he recognize that is the norway flag and he smiled during sign it!

thanks god i had two cameras with me bc one of them didn´t work and i don´t know why, so i just was able to make some pics! and when i be allowed i be sending them to mel so she can post them!

    1. Thanks a lot for your interesting report, Corinna!

I enjoyed only the 1st run on TV, and got so much amuzed about Aksel's laughing over the whole face after his first run! I think that was a wonderful reaction!

So I am glad you had as much fun as possible with the 2nd run which I didn't see because of going to do my workout! And to be honest, to have dinner first! HaHa

Quite amazing you were standing nearby of Aksel with the "closed" Norwegian flag! I would also smile if I were him. I think you are a courrageous girl, Corinna!

Your father and his friend had really a bad taste regarding the place! Loud music is a killer! Your decision to move back to the first place you wanted is great, sometimes it is better to stand alone!!!

Very keen to see your pics, Corinna! Lucky you enjoyed the race, and seeing all the racer life must be a great experience!

Wish you a relaxing evening, Corinna!

It's been like Germany here. I mean the temperature in Tokyo this winter is very close to that in Germany. I don't know why. ... Is it because I bought the best dictionaries ever published ? ... ;-)))
It started snowing a few hours ago in Tokyo. It's now 1 cm. The weather report says it stops snowing early next morning, but the temperature will be around 0℃, so we really have to be careful not to slip on the road, bc people in the center part of Tokyo is not used to the snow & ice.
I think I take a taxi tomorrow to TWMU. The railways are not reliable in Tokyo due to the snow. I also think I'd better book a taxi for tomorrow.
Anyhow I try to call the taxi company, and I also try not to speak in German. ha ha !

Have a pretty winter day !
    Kisses & Hugs ! LOVE !

    Guten Abend Ekaterina!
Interesting you have got so much snow in Tokio! Be careful Ekaterina, better to take a taxi to the hospital.
Here it is quite mild 5-8 degrees, rainy and windy an really unfriendly. But on Friday we will have a mixture between snow and rain!

Good luck for your visit with the hospital, Ekaterina!

The date of the first surgery is fixed. It is the surgery of die Krampfader.
I check in TWMU in February 5th on Sunday and take the surgery in 6th, the next day, and I check out TWMU in February 8th. It is usually a light surgery and it's the same as my case, but I need die Vollnarkose, bc my scoliosis is too severe.

The date of the scoliosis surgery has not been fixed yet, but possibly in the late March, according to Dr.Shiba. The next appointment with him is February 13th, so I think I'll be informed more details in the middle of February.

I called the taxi company to book my car last night, but the line was busy. So I walked this morning to the big street to take a taxi by myself as usual. I think I was lucky, bc I waited for " only 20 minutes " to get a taxi. On such a day it's hard to get a taxi, bc everybody thinks the same way. The road is still icy, so I'll be careful tomorrow, too. I remember you mentioned about the icy road in Zurich, Nicolettchen.

  24. @ekaterina so i try to write now in german for you practice,
ich habe heute 20min an einer kreuzung gewartet bis ich endlich mit meinem auto abbiegen konnte!
so i had also a waiting day today!

i cross my fingers for you on the 6th of february! i hope everything will went well!

Wish you all the best for your first surgery with the Krampfadern, Ekaterina. Hope everthing goes well, especially with the Vollnarkose!!

Can imagine taxis get very busy in Tokio if there is 1 cm of fresh snow. Perhaps Japanese people do not wear shoes or boots with good rubber sole! And I think Japanese people are not so much used to slippy roads. It needs some practise and being afraid from a fall makes it worse! You certainly know what I mean.

One thing I would love to see once in my life is the lake of Zurich would be covered with a real big layer of ice!

Last time it happend in 1962/63. It was possible for the public to go for a walk or to do skating in the middle of the lake. So much fun for everyone!

    Here some pictures:
