Jup, Berne was fun! Got to see my friend I haven't seen for too long! And got to explore the city a bit, I'm going to live next september for studying! :D And I had some starbucks coffee! I'm way to addicted to that coffee (ok to any coffee actually) and everytime I'm in Zuerich or Berne or somewhere they have a Starbucks, I just need to go there! LOL I can't understand why the heck they're not opening one here! :-/

I am totally addicted to Starbucks. There is one less than a mile from my house and I go there almost every day. Everyone who works there knows me and all they ask is "hot or iced".

I always look for the closest Starbucks when I travel in the US, but I find that the coffee overseas is better than it is here. Especially in Amsterdam! When I was there I drank so much coffee I hardly slept.
They just changed our Frappuccino so we might have that flavor now. I think they are too sweet and fattening so I never get them. I always get skinny vanilla latte.
Now I am cracking up thinking about the scene in Zoolander with ORANGE MOCHA FRAPPUCCINO!

So I never tasted a Starbucks coffee in America, but in Canada they were good too! I always thought they do it everywhere the same way? :) Oh yea, they are sweet and I don't drink them too much! @Teekanne It is working out very well so far. He is scheduled to be here until June 25, but may be able to stay through July. We'll see. I don't know if there is much of a future but I am enjoying it now!
Martha's Vineyard doesn't have an actual vineyard, unfortunately. It is a resort island off the coast of Massachusetts. The ferry is very close to me, and it only takes 1:15 to get there. It's great for a day trip.

Well I did buy some new headphones for my iPod (but that was actually in Zuerich), two coffee's from Starbucks and two books! I always buy books when I'm in a bookstore! :D I need to save my money for my holidays though! But i like the city and the ppl! @anja she is now 11 month old, first i want to go down with some friends but they don´t make it to get free days, so i go down with my parents, i know i know, how boring to go with the parents. lmao,but so i don´t have to pay anything, i go on may 20 till may 24, over my birthday on may 23 to lago di garda, this is my favorit place in italy. and i only have to drive 3 and a half hour.

@anja yes it´s near of swiss, it´s between verona and milano, i love this place so much, it´s like my second home, i´m as often as possible down there.

Well i like doing stuff with my dad, since my parents are divorced I don't see him very often! So I like doing stuff with him! :D haha poor you! @anja i think i was in davos, my mom got a good friend of her in zuerich. and we were often there when we go down to south france, i also then on this way val d´iere,tigne and so on i know it is in france, but we always go throw swiss and this place of france.

@ Anja I love to make cupcakes. I just use a cake mix. I add 2 eggs & 1 or 2tsp of vanilla to it.
Bad day at work. Had a new cashier tell me how to do my job. The reduced sticker on some steaks wasn't scanning so I told the customer that I was gonna go to meat & see if they would print me a new one or tell me the numbers. Another customer went ove to customer service & the new cashier came over & yelles at me like I was a child. Excuse me I've been a cashier for darn near 2 years now I think I know how to do my job. she has even been there for a month & a half. It ticked me off, but thank God I have control over my temper or I'd be out of a job right now.

@Anja I love the cupcakes at Starbucks! The chocolate ones are so decadent.
This is my favorite recipe. It's from a password only website (Cooks Illustrated) so I can't link it. You can use any icing on it. I like vanilla personally because chocolate is over the top!
Dark Chocolate Cupcakes
Makes 12 cupcakes
Ingredients 8 tablespoons unsalted butter, cut into 4 pieces 2 ounces bittersweet chocolate, chopped 1/2 cup Dutch-processed cocoa (1 1/2 ounces) 3/4 cup unbleached all-purpose flour (3 3/4 ounces) 1/2 teaspoon baking soda 3/4 teaspoon baking powder 2 large eggs 3/4 cup sugar (5 1/4 ounces) 1 teaspoon vanilla extract 1/2 teaspoon table salt 1/2 cup sour cream (4 ounces)
Adjust oven rack to lower-middle position; heat oven to 350 degrees. Line standard-sized muffin pan (cups have 1/2-cup capacity) with baking-cup liners.
Combine butter, chocolate, and cocoa in medium heatproof bowl. Set bowl over saucepan containing barely simmering water; heat mixture until butter and chocolate are melted and whisk until smooth and combined. Set aside to cool until just warm to the touch.
Whisk flour, baking soda, and baking powder in small bowl to combine.
Whisk eggs in second medium bowl to combine; add sugar, vanilla, and salt and whisk until fully incorporated. Add cooled chocolate mixture and whisk until combined. Sift about one-third of flour mixture over chocolate mixture and whisk until combined; whisk in sour cream until combined, then sift remaining flour mixture over and whisk until batter is homogeneous and thick.
Divide batter evenly among muffin pan cups. Bake until skewer inserted into center of cupcakes comes out clean, 18 to 20 minutes.
Cool cupcakes in muffin pan on wire rack until cool enough to handle, about 15 minutes. Carefully lift each cupcake from muffin pan and set on wire rack. Cool to room temperature before icing, about 30 minutes.

@ Cricket Home alone :-( I've had a long time to get my temper under control & I very rarely ever let it loose. When I do lose it you should run in the other direction. Those cupcakes sound good, but I would use chocolate icing. You can never have too much chocolate.

I always look for the closest Starbucks when I travel in the US, but I find that the coffee overseas is better than it is here. Especially in Amsterdam! When I was there I drank so much coffee I hardly slept.
They just changed our Frappuccino so we might have that flavor now. I think they are too sweet and fattening so I never get them. I always get skinny vanilla latte.

ReplyDeleteMartha's Vineyard doesn't have an actual vineyard, unfortunately. It is a resort island off the coast of Massachusetts. The ferry is very close to me, and it only takes 1:15 to get there. It's great for a day trip.

ReplyDeleteWell I did buy some new headphones for my iPod (but that was actually in Zuerich), two coffee's from Starbucks and two books! I always buy books when I'm in a bookstore! :D I need to save my money for my holidays though! But i like the city and the ppl! So I really enjoyed it there, eventhough I didn't go on a shopping spree! Unlike our fav Viking seems to be at the moment! :D

@anja i think i was in davos, my mom got a good friend of her in zuerich. and we were often there when we go down to south france, i also then on this way val d´iere,tigne and so on i know it is in france, but we always go throw swiss and this place of france.

@anja yes my dad drive this car, he had the choice btw. audi Q7, porsche cayenne, bmw x5 and volvo, the volvo is the best i the thought of sprit consumption and co2 consumption, i like bmw too, but this is my favorit car

@ Anja I love to make cupcakes. I just use a cake mix. I add 2 eggs & 1 or 2tsp of vanilla to it.
ReplyDeleteBad day at work. Had a new cashier tell me how to do my job. The reduced sticker on some steaks wasn't scanning so I told the customer that I was gonna go to meat & see if they would print me a new one or tell me the numbers. Another customer went ove to customer service & the new cashier came over & yelles at me like I was a child. Excuse me I've been a cashier for darn near 2 years now I think I know how to do my job. she has even been there for a month & a half. It ticked me off, but thank God I have control over my temper or I'd be out of a job right now.

@Anja I love the cupcakes at Starbucks! The chocolate ones are so decadent.
This is my favorite recipe. It's from a password only website (Cooks Illustrated) so I can't link it. You can use any icing on it. I like vanilla personally because chocolate is over the top!
Dark Chocolate Cupcakes
Makes 12 cupcakes
Ingredients
8 tablespoons unsalted butter, cut into 4 pieces
2 ounces bittersweet chocolate, chopped
1/2 cup Dutch-processed cocoa (1 1/2 ounces)
3/4 cup unbleached all-purpose flour (3 3/4 ounces)
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
3/4 teaspoon baking powder
2 large eggs
3/4 cup sugar (5 1/4 ounces)
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/2 teaspoon table salt
1/2 cup sour cream (4 ounces)
Adjust oven rack to lower-middle position; heat oven to 350 degrees. Line standard-sized muffin pan (cups have 1/2-cup capacity) with baking-cup liners.
Combine butter, chocolate, and cocoa in medium heatproof bowl. Set bowl over saucepan containing barely simmering water; heat mixture until butter and chocolate are melted and whisk until smooth and combined. Set aside to cool until just warm to the touch.
Whisk flour, baking soda, and baking powder in small bowl to combine.
Whisk eggs in second medium bowl to combine; add sugar, vanilla, and salt and whisk until fully incorporated. Add cooled chocolate mixture and whisk until combined. Sift about one-third of flour mixture over chocolate mixture and whisk until combined; whisk in sour cream until combined, then sift remaining flour mixture over and whisk until batter is homogeneous and thick.
Divide batter evenly among muffin pan cups. Bake until skewer inserted into center of cupcakes comes out clean, 18 to 20 minutes.
Cool cupcakes in muffin pan on wire rack until cool enough to handle, about 15 minutes. Carefully lift each cupcake from muffin pan and set on wire rack. Cool to room temperature before icing, about 30 minutes.
