Sochi

I tried to find a picture of the DH course, but alas I failed. I did however find a pic of the Rosa Khotur Alpine Ski Resort. It looks AWESOME!!! I also found an article with the skiers talking about the DH course.

Ok so I found a pic thanks to Ted Ligety. It looks really cool!

  3. @Corinna It would be awesome to go to Sochi to ski. Though knowing me I'd fall down & get stuck in the snow...

    I'm terribly sorry for my poor explanation ! I can stand up and can walk with the mummy bandages. Maybe it's one of the differences between the mummy and me ... :-)))

    @AM

    He looks nice, I guess. I have not made my account on FB, bc I've been too busy with lots of other things including the medical matters. But as soon as I'm able to reach it, I'll see him !

    Thank you for the warm words, dear AM. Yes, it seems my life is going to be managed by the medical professionals for some months. The next surgery is possibly in March, and it'll be the big one. The back bones surgery which takes about 7 hours with the blood transfusion. But the doctor says there is no problem for my vacation in August in Germany. ( Clapping hands ! )
    I report about it here from time to time.

    @dana

    Thank you for nice words, dear dana. I think I'm well and fine, but I don't eat well yet, it's probably due to the no meals before the Vollnarkose and also no meals after Vollnarkose bc of its side effect. So I think the appetite comes back soon.

    You're absolutely right ! My baby sis can be the best roommate even in the hospital !

    @Mel

    Thank you, dear Mel for nice words !
    And I also thank you for posting the lines about my situation here in your blog. It's so helpful for me. The fun thing makes me better and better !

    Then, thanks for the beautiful update. Yes, Sochi !
    Even if the telephone call costs high, it's worthwhile place to visit. I think Aksel will be satisfied with the cost at least before the Olympics.
    The Caucasus mountains area is not so well-known to us, but it's beautiful.
    I read the site you kindly posted the link, and feel it's more like a Ultra Super-G. The nature in the area looks special. I think it's the former USSR which still lacks of the various services of our standard level, but they learn more about it day by day. I'm very much looking forward to Sochi Olympics ! So I'm very interested in the race in this weekend.

  11. @Nicoletta

    Thanks for the links, Nicolettchen !

    I'm fond of the 5th pic of Patrick Kung. But it's pity he cannot race. ... :-(((

    I enjoy the info and the update of Sochi. btw, talking about " Park inn ", I remember I saw it in Alexander Platz in Berlin ( in the former DDR area ).

    Aksel does not seem to be fit yet, however it's OK, bc the most important year for him at least in Sochi is in 2014 !

    btw, I took the first shower after the surgery this evening. The doctor has not allow me to be satisfied in the bathtub, but it was joy for me to take shower.

    Have a beautiful white weekend, dear Nicoletta !

    ReplyDelete
  12. @Ekaterina

    Happy for you Ekaterina, you could already enjoy a shower!
    Only with the rubber stockings and no "mummie" anymore will also a big progress!

    Glad you enjoyed all the info from Sochi, I think Sochi it is a special place with a lot of new building, practically a town prepared out from nothing! And so is the slope, I think. HaH
    The standard of the "Park Inn Hotel" seems very nice, so you know already more because you checked out the Berlin/DDR hotel.

    Here I found the link for the Park Inn in Russia, the hotel is open by now and the Swiss skiers stay there, perhaps also the Norwegians??

    http://www.parkinn.com/hotel-rosakhutor

    The slope looks tricky and will be a challenge for all skiers. I got used that Aksel is under the 10 ten, maybe under the 20 best skiers. More is difficult to expect from him. No big problem for me!

    Looking forward to tomorrow's race, hope everything goes well!

    Wish you a relaxing weekend my dear Ekaterina, and please follow exactly what the Doctor says!

    Love you!

  13. @ekaterina i be happy that you was able to take a shower!

    btw how do you make your mummie?

    well we have a special kind of "bandagieren" when we make this mummie thing with patient!

    we "bandarieren" in "ähren", well like the "kornähren"

    this are "kornähren"
    http://vln-sachsen.de/aehren12.jpg

    http://www.physio-zumikon.ch/mediac/400_0/media/e321d00b3eb6471cffff835cffa86322.jpg

    bc you get one way bit up the leg and the other way you go a bit down the leg and so you get this "ähren"!

    well it is hard to explain and i don´t find a good pic! but hopefully you understand what i mean!

    have a great weekend!

    @nicoletta thanks for posting this links they are great!

    I can understand the Aehren technic, I remember my grandmother had also to do this!

    You are welcome with the articles, I like them too!

    Here I found some more in the NZZ, I think they are quite funny and tell us a lot about Sochi!

    Very interesting ! and also exciting to read these articles.

    @corinna
    @Nicoletta

    yes, up & down. but it's still actually a bit difficult for me to do it nicely. I honestly think I need the help by Nicoletta's grandma.

    and yes, I'm a GOOD girl, and I follow the doctor's instruction.

    Thank you for thinking of me & my mummy legs !

    Now, Sochi.

    @All ladies !

    Have a great weekend !
    Kisses & Hugs ! LOVE !

  16. @nicoletta have you felt the 4,2 earthquake last evening in zürich?

    http://www.rp-online.de/panorama/ausland/erdbeben-erschuettert-die-schweiz-1.2709217

  17. @Corinna

    Yes, I have!!

    I was already laying in bed, not yet sleeping. Suddenly the whole bed made like a jump, and I immediately thought - earthquake - Tokio! But I felt it only for max. 1 second.
    My partner was still sitting in the living room while I had the bedroom door hopen. He mentionned something about haevy wind and said: Did you hear this? We were both a bit puzzled.

    It was around 11.45, afterwards I slept in. My partner is kind of nigth owl and he informed me later that is was an earthquake!

    Later in the morning I learnt also that Witney Houston is dead! R.I.P. Witney!

  18. @All Ladies

    Today Aksel can be really proud on his achievements! Being 6th in the Supercombination is only possible if you are skilled in both discipline, and you cannot allow yourself to many mistakes and you need really good nerfs too.

    If you look at the rankings he is in very good company!

    Next week will be a bit warmer again, we can expect temperatures around -1 degrees! I feel already Spring is coming!

    Wish you all a happy Sunday!

  19. @nicoletta but othing serious happened? or? i mean lilke damaged houses or something like this!

    i heard it this morning and i thought about it, bc yesterday evening i had a look at the neighbour dog and it was about 8:15pm when i felt a bit strange and shaking! but this was not the earthquake! i didn´t knew what this was, but my neighbour who was in a restaurant only 1 km away had the same feeling like me and at the same time! real strange!

    had you heard that about the pope?

    i heard about witney houston too, so sad she was such a great singer!

    aksel had done two great races today and he can be happy with his results!

    one thing i don´t understand is why all racers fly to zürich today and not directly to bansko!

    ReplyDelete
  20. @corinna
    @Nicoletta

    I agree with you. Aksel seems to have done " HIS " race. I think he set his clock for the 2014 Olympics when he started the first course inspection.

    As for WH, I'm so surprised and so sad.

    I didn't know about the plot concerning Pope. I'm very shocked to see it. Never let it be done !!!

    Then, I jump in ! Das Erdbeben.
    How far it is from Zurich to Rosenheim ? about 200 km ? I suppose. It's not unusual that corinna felt something strange a few hours before Nicoletta felt the shake. There are lots of things still unknown about the earthquake.
    Anyhow, it was good the there were no serious damages.

    We are instructed some advice in case of the earthquake.
    1.) put off the fire.
    2.) open the door.
    3.) stay under the big table until the shake stops.
    My baby sis did 3.) last March. ... ;-)))

    @All ladies

    Hope you enjoy Sunday before St. Valentine'a Day, and have a nice new week with a smell of spring !
    LOVE !

  21. @ekaterina it is 391 km from me to zürich!

    @all i had a great funny stressy afternoon and dinner behind me!
    my brother and his girlfriend was here with rebekka, jonathan and sebastian!
    oh yes sebastian he is two month older then rebekka and they both know each other since they were little babys! and he is ill, real ill he is a hemophiliac, which means he starts to blood real badly when he hurt and so you have to look every step he does! he gets all three days a injection to get his blood a bit better i mean i hope this is rigth for the blood clot- "blutgerinnung"!

    ReplyDelete
  22. @corinna
    Sorry for Sebastian, bc the hemophilia is a hereditary disease.
    Though I'm not sure, it is only from maternal line. The famous example is Alexei Romanov.His mother is a granddaughter of Queen Victoria, and a hemophilia was brought from Victoria's family.
    I do hope Sebastian lives without so much troubles by the modern medicines.

    btw, corinna, talking about the blood, I visited TWMU today and was informed I have to collect the total 1,200 cc of my own blood for the surgery possibly in March 29th. Of course 1.200 cc at NOT one time. The doctor made the plan that I visit the TWMU to collect my own blood 300 cc at one time, so I have to visit there 4 times. It starts from February 27th to March 19th, all are on Monday. I also have to take the Fe tablet and Vitamin C tablet from one week before the first collection of my own blood.
    I have not done even the blood donation before. In Japan the blood donation at one time is 400 cc.
