Congrats Lars & Betina!!!!
Kasper was born on Sunday! The Proud Papa says that he's a healthy, beautiful & weird little creature. LOL I hope that all their hopes & dreams for him come true!
Congratulations to Lars and Betina. It's a very fun time, tiring but worth it. I bet baby Kasper will be a beautiful little blonde, with big blue eyes, and a lot of energy as he grows. What fun!
CONGRATULATIONS to the proud Papa & Mama! I love the name Kasper the Viking! I am so happy for them. It's gonna be a great adventure, children are the best part of this world!
I think Eleanor Roosevelt said it best ... "To love a child is to know your heart will forever walk around outside of your body."
There is no doubt that Little Kasper will be well loved and have lots of Viking Aunts and Uncles to spoil him!
@Cricket I know! The iPhone is awesome, but kinda expensive here! Though I'll buy when when I have money and come back from Canada! ;D And well therefor maybe sell my iPod! :D
@Krys well I hope I don't have to ship anything home, but if I have to I will! :D lol let's hope 33kg all in all will be enough! ;D

well I'm going to be near 'Edmonton' for the first 5 weeks! and then we'll drive to Vancouver. :) What parts of canada are near Oregon? I won't go more east then Alberta I guess! even though I'd love too, but there's no time! :S

@Cricket Do you like your iphone? I am in the market for a new phone and I'm not sure what kind I want. I have verison now but I'm curious about AT&Ts coverage.
@Anja Just go easy on the shopping while you are there and I bet you will be able to fit everything :) We have these things here called Space Bags that are really helpful for packing. They suck the air out of everything so it becomes really small. I love them for when I travel!
@Anja I will be going to Germany for a family wedding in the Fall, but my cousin is having a hard time setting the date, cuz your fiance is a military man and his schedule is crazy! Edmonton is about 1000 miles from Oregon, but Vancouver is only about 400 miles. :)
@Krys I love space bags for traveling ... I don't like to check luggage, I always try to get everything into a carry on. Sometimes you have to get very creative.
Okay Chicas ... I need to get my ass off the computer and find some motivation to workout ... it's raining and gloomy here today ... I NEED SOME SUNSHINE!

@Krys I love my iPhone. Actually I am addicted to it! It is never more than 5 feet away from me. The AT&T coverage is great where I live so that makes it even better.
So amazing! I was wondering when the baby was due and then I saw this!!! I'm bouncing! Literally bouncing around and smiling and so so excited! I don't even know Lars but this is amazing news!!!! So so happy for them both! And I love his son's name, Kasper! And it's a son! A SON!!! Another butt-kicking Attacking Viking!!!!!!! :D ;D ;D So pumped!!! Congrats!!!
@Krys Space bags?! haha sounds funny! ;D yea I'll try to go easy on shopping! ;D But some sunglasses and converse are for sure going to end up in my suitcase! :D
@Deuce I see! :D well you gotta tell us when you're in Germany! :D I had to look on Google maps where Oregon is! :D So it's actually pretty near, for American standarts! ;D I'm not sure though for how long we'll be in Van! ;D Since I was there for a month already, I prefer seeing the other parts of Canada! :D
@Deuce I am sending some sunshine your way:) I hate to have carry on so I try and stuff as much as I can into my checked luggage. There are never any overhead compartments by the time I get on the plane. Very annoying!

haha yea, and I'll bring some presents! So there will be room again till I go home! :D I just hope it will work better than last time! There I went to Canada with one bag and came home with two! ;P But for an odd reason I was allowed two bags, this time just one! :D

btw, I love spacebags but we usually use those for storage! I'm more of a carry-on girl! So I always have my backpack and a huge purse as carry-ons! I like to keep my things close! And then my suitcase is usually filled with clothes and extra clothes and more extra clothes that I probably won't wear! I like to be more safe than sorry!!! ;P It gets very interesting when I try to stuff souvenirs into my bags!!! LOL ;D
@Anja They work pretty well. Sometimes it re-inflates a little before you get the cap on it but it is still smaller than what it originally was. When I moved home from college I put all my stuff in them for storage. I opened one the other day and everything was fresh and wrinkle free!
Hahaha! Thats something I would do ;D The airlines used to let you bring 2 checked bags but now they make you pay for the second one. Its so dumb! And its like $50 US!
@Krys and Anja All the new policies are a hassle! Like having to put liquid items in a small bag or they can only be a certain size...etc. It's a hassle, but I'm happy they're cracking down on some security measures! I still like to keep everything close to me, so it's always really funny when I have all my electronics and personals stuffed into my carry-on! One time, I even stuffed my flute case into my purse, because I didn't want it to get lost! ;P
@Nicole I always take my electronics as carry on too. I don't trust anyone to not take them. Anything I don't want stolen comes with me but I prefer to check my clothes and stuff. Its just too much for me to carry usually since I over pack:) Oh and that liquid thing drives me nuts. Even a lipgloss they are like "you need a bag for that." Common, seriously, its lipgloss!
@Cricket yes they are! We have to pay for them 100.- Swiss Franks, when they're not on discount of course! That about 90 US Dollars! :D And I know, they're way cheaper overseas! :D
@Krys I see! We don't know them here at all! ;D But sounds like a good invention! :D ah ok, so if I'd need a second bag I have to pay 50$? well then at least we can share a second bag, my friend and me, if we need one! 25$ isn't thaat much. When i think back, there were time when you had to pay a lot more for overweight! :D
@Nicole I hear that policies about the liquids are for like 3 more years and then you can bring liquids again! or well that's what I heard in the news a couple weeks ago! :D haha I do take all my electronics with me too! my laptop would brake in the check-in luggage! ;D I'll just take less books with me, so I have a lot of spave in my carry-on luggage! ;D lol
@Krys Exactly! They check everything...which is a pain, but it also makes me happy that they're watching out for us...for the most part! ;P I pack my clothes and shoes in the check-in and absolutely everything else comes with me! I pack everything...and often times, things that I will never need! I look like a tourist everywhere I go!!! LOL ;D

@all who were asking me to keep you updated on my aunt: so she's out of surgery and everything went well! My other great-aunt (her sister) called her and she's fine! just a bit sleepy still, but otherwise doing good! :D Gosh I'm so relieved! I hate checking bags so I only do it for long trips. I don't like to wait and I have had a bag lost for almost a week. That sucked!
@Anja OMG that's crazy! I don't wear them so I rarely pay attention, but I know they have them in the discount stores here. Last weekend I went shopping with my sister-in-law, and she bought a pair for $20 US.

@Nicole I think the Kindle is really cool. I have the app on my phone and it's nice for reading in bed with the lights off. I still love real books though!
@Cricket it is crazy! And I so envy you americans! Everything is so expensive here! :S stupid import taxes and stuff! wow that's nothing! Grr... we pay that for a pair of converse covers with no quality!

They sell Converse stuff in our Target stores now. Clothes, sneakers, and bags I think. They are pretty inexpensive there.
@Nicole I don't like the e-reader either. I like to have the actual book to keep in my bookcase. I prefer hard covered books too but they are so much more expensive!
What do you mean by 'Target stores'? is that a special store? Well I guess something being expensive depends on the view you have! :) I mean, sure we prolly earn here more and therfore everything is more expensive and when we go to another courty we think all is cheap. But that doesn't mean it's cheap too for the ppl in that country! Prolly the exact oppostite of it! :D

@Krys I don't have a preference in regards to hardcover or paperback! But I never let anyone borrow my books! Not even my mom! NO one touches my books! And if it's a paperback, I don't bend it! I hate bent pages or bent book covers! I always try to keep it neat! It gets to the point where I obsess over it! ;P

@Anja Haha Thats true! Everything is expensive to me because I don't earn enough here lol ;D How would I explain Target? Hmmmm... it's a store that sells everything. They sell clothes and shoes, electronics, food, beauty aids, etc. I saw a Converse dress there a couple if weeks ago. It was so cute and only $24US, but I restrained myself. I spend too much money lol:)
@Anja Target is a store! It's a little like Wal Mart but so much better! The store has trendier clothes and home decorations ...less of a grocery store! It's just another store! ;D

Hi Krys & Nicole & Corinna I'm fine, happy because I 've seen the sun!!! After 4-5 rainy days!! How are you? I like converse too! I don't feel confortable on high heels! And I'm for books too! I like to read but unfortunately I haven't too much time for it!
@Cricket uhm well, how about just the chocolate? ;P lol no i like where I live and nowhere is perfect! :D and being near to WC races and other winter events is awesome! :D btw they're deciding tomorrow in Antalya where they go for the World Championship in 2015! Maybe they'll come to Vail! or is that too far away too? would be worth to spend a week of holiday there, no? :D

@anja yes i´m excited, my parents was going down to italy today and my mom told me that she i going to check if the hot guy will be down. i had a funny day today at work. and my brother was just here, he said close the door behind me and lock it up, then i said him i don´t think that someone would steal me and if he will do this he will bring me back with a pleasure
@Nicole Hahaha I am the same way! I hate letting people touch my books. I can't stand if the binding is bent or creased. I hate when the pages have bent corners. It drives me nuts. I guess I am a little OCD about them lol! And my mom is the worst. I call her book murderer! She actually killed my copy of the Divinci Code. Lost the cover, missing pages. Shes not allowed to borrow books from me anymore:)

@Krys Yep! That's exactly how I am! But I've never let anyone borrow my books! They're far too precious! My sister is the book murderer in my family! She fold pages and she tosses books everywhere! She doesn't care about them really! She'll fold a book's spine, she'll write in books....ugh...it makes me cringe! My mom just never finishes books! @Anja & Nicole & dana I love heels too but I am a flip flop girl. I have to wear heels at work though sometimes I wear cute little ballerina flats, but on the weekends I live in flip flops! Rainbows are my favorite brand of flip flops. They have a lifetime gaurntee.
@Anja I love Roxy too! I bought a cute hat and mittens set there over the winter but I haven't got to wear them yet.
@Krys Me too! I've had to write or highlight in books for some English classes! And I hated it every time, unless the book belonged to the school! Then, I wouldn't have to worry about it! :P

@Anja Vail is very far from me, almost all the way across the country! I could take a holiday and go for a week but that race is usually close to Christmas and I take that week off. So it doesn't work!

@Krys I like Reef flip flops the best. They mold to your foot so it's like they are custom made for you. I have at least 10 pairs and always want more.

@Anja and corinna I just don't think that white is a good choice! They get dirty very easily and there's that time of the month too!!! White is just not a good choice at all! ;D
@Anja Nope, NC has all 4 seasons. The first year I lived there we got about 2 feet(60cm) of snow. Thats a lot for there. Typically they get about 3 inches(7cm)average. Even I think flip flops in the snow is a litte crazy;)

@Anja & Nicole & corinna White trousers are ok but only after Memorial day ;) haha Thats a US thing. They say you can't were white unless its after Memorial day and only until Labor day. I have all different colored ones since I wear them to work everyday, but I prefer black. They are more classy:)

White is the worst! A couple summers ago I had white jeans when they were the trend and in one night I got nail polish AND cocktail sauce on them. It came out in the wash but I haven't worn them since.

@Krys In the same night within a few hours! The cocktail sauce was on my leg and this really hot guy at the bar asked if I had cut myself. I was so embarrassed. At least it wasn't higher up!
@Anja and krys I wear socks all the time!!! Slippers are a pain, especially when you're going up the stairs! I always had to spread out my toes to keep my slippers from sliding off!!! LOL ;P

@Nicole & Anja & corinna I am a magnet for stains. It doesn't matter if its pants or a shirt. We always joke that I need a bid all the time. I carry a tide-to-go stain removing stick with me at all times. I am a mess lol :(
@corinna She had to ask around to see if anyone had tampons! She was really embarrassed because she finally had to ask some teachers! It was not a good night for her!

@anja i tell you in german das passiert mir nur wenn eines der wärmepacks kaputt geht und der inhalt auf meiner hose landet(da ist so parafin und so braun/graues zeug drin)und das passiert gott sei dank sehr sehr selten. fangos krieg ich eigentlich nur hin und wieder auf meinen t-shirt ab und dass ist ja gott sei dank nicht weiß sondern in einer anderen farbe

that happened to me only if one of the heat packs will break down and the content end up on my pants (there is so paraffin and so brown / gray vehicle in it) and that happens thanks to God very very rare. I get mud really only on my t-shirt and that was yes, thanks god, not white but in a different color

@Nicole I love french too! I think it sounds so pretty. I would love to go to Paris one day to practice. I went to Quebec City in Canada in high school with my French class and had a blast! A lot of people wouldn't speak any English to us so it was good practice.
@Anja Yep! 5 years now! I feel like I haven't learned much just because the teacher wasn't very good at teaching! But I love the language! ;D I plan to continue studying it, and I want to learn Italian, and German, and they also teach Norwegian at my university! ;D

Clothes. I love to wear anything! I feel great in work clothes, casual clothes or exercise clothes. My favorite peice of clothing is my yoga pants. Love any kind of shoe. I really am not picky. I don't necessarily do trends. While something may be popular it could be totally wrong for my body type. I like finding good pieces that work with anything.
Weather here is hot and humid. I went outside at lunch for a walk and my hair was a frizball when I came back in.
@Krys That would be awesome! That's one of the things I hated about the class! The teacher would always promise to speak in French, but when she did, everyone complained because they couldn't understand! Naturally, she babied them and switched back to English! How are we supposed to learn like that?!?!
@Nicole i see! it really sucks when the teacher sucks! :S Lucky you! so you're going to learn Norwegian too? :D Nice! :D Gotta tell me if she likes it! :D

@Anja Yeah you can kind of guess the word once you hear it, not so much when you see it. They have those extra letters that don't sound the way they look (ø å æ). I can't understand when they talk either because they talk too fast! It would have to be real slow for me to pick anything up. I'm still a beginner:)
Ok. wrote the wrong thing. Training for a triathlon. I was looking at marathon stuff and it is stuck on the brain. Hate running so probably won't do the marathon.
I've always believed that immersion is the way to learn a new language! That way, your brain is forced to think differently! That's one of the problems with my classmates! They're always thinking in English and trying to translate, instead of thinking in French!!! ;D When I was in Shanghai, my family and I started to pick up on the Mandarin right away...because we were forced to think differently! That's the way to learn! ;D
ok ladies. Languages: Thanks for writing in German. I am SLOWLY (with an emphasis on slow) learning German. I can understand some of what you write but have a long way to go!
@Nicole Thats what Rosetta Stone says too. You shouldn't translate, you should think in that language and you will pick it up better. But that is like $600 for the series. I wanted to get one to brush up on my French. I have been out of school now for 3 years and its getting rusty.

Congratulations to Lars and Betina. It's a very fun time, tiring but worth it. I bet baby Kasper will be a beautiful little blonde, with big blue eyes, and a lot of energy as he grows. What fun!

@Anja Just go easy on the shopping while you are there and I bet you will be able to fit everything :) We have these things here called Space Bags that are really helpful for packing. They suck the air out of everything so it becomes really small. I love them for when I travel!
@Anja I will be going to Germany for a family wedding in the Fall, but my cousin is having a hard time setting the date, cuz your fiance is a military man and his schedule is crazy! Edmonton is about 1000 miles from Oregon, but Vancouver is only about 400 miles. :)

@Anja They work pretty well. Sometimes it re-inflates a little before you get the cap on it but it is still smaller than what it originally was. When I moved home from college I put all my stuff in them for storage. I opened one the other day and everything was fresh and wrinkle free!

The airlines used to let you bring 2 checked bags but now they make you pay for the second one. Its so dumb! And its like $50 US!
@Krys and Anja All the new policies are a hassle! Like having to put liquid items in a small bag or they can only be a certain size...etc. It's a hassle, but I'm happy they're cracking down on some security measures! I still like to keep everything close to me, so it's always really funny when I have all my electronics and personals stuffed into my carry-on! One time, I even stuffed my flute case into my purse, because I didn't want it to get lost! ;P

Its just too much for me to carry usually since I over pack:) Oh and that liquid thing drives me nuts. Even a lipgloss they are like "you need a bag for that." Common, seriously, its lipgloss!

ReplyDelete@Anja Nope, NC has all 4 seasons. The first year I lived there we got about 2 feet(60cm) of snow. Thats a lot for there. Typically they get about 3 inches(7cm)average. Even I think flip flops in the snow is a litte crazy;)

@Nicole I love french too! I think it sounds so pretty. I would love to go to Paris one day to practice. I went to Quebec City in Canada in high school with my French class and had a blast! A lot of people wouldn't speak any English to us so it was good practice.

Clothes. I love to wear anything! I feel great in work clothes, casual clothes or exercise clothes. My favorite peice of clothing is my yoga pants. Love any kind of shoe. I really am not picky. I don't necessarily do trends. While something may be popular it could be totally wrong for my body type. I like finding good pieces that work with anything.
Weather here is hot and humid. I went outside at lunch for a walk and my hair was a frizball when I came back in.

@corinna Its hard but not so bad. I can read it better then I can speak it:) Aksel talks waaaayyyy too fast for me to understand anything he says... and he mumbles lol!

Well, we talked about books and how we like their smell and don't like to fold them! We talked about flip flops and trousers and white pants (and how dangerous white pants can be) and we are talking about languages! ;D

@corinna & Nicole I play these games all the time when I am bored at work:) They don't have sound but they are fun. I like the math ones the best. I am so competitive, I have to beat the clock or I get mad!

yeh bloated.. at least i still can move myself haha.. i could walk to the car and the girls didn´t need to roll me! ;-)
the food was good like always.. sushi, rice, noodles with sweet and sour sauce! i love chinese! :-)
books? :-) good topic! gosh i didn´t read any page since my holiday! :-(
smell? hmm. the new ones smell good.
white pants? not for me.. they are dirty after 5 minutes!
languages? which ones?
i love languages now... i didn´t in school.. so i didn´t learn and now i regret it pretty much! :-(

@krys: have a look above! :-) rice, noodles, sushi, all stuff! ;-) we had a buffet.. but i´m not such a meat eater so i stay with vegetables and rice/noodles. and Icecream for dessert! :-) yummy!!!
