Bad Girls, Bad Girls...

What cha gonna, what cha gonna do when they come for you?

I spent the weekend with my 2 friends. Saturday night we went to a turkey dinner. As we were driving through Creston I got pulled over.

Cop: How's your evening?
Me: Good
Cop: Do you know why I pulled you over?
Me: No
Cop: I pulled you over because your windows are tinted too dark.
Me: Oh, it's a used car & the windows were tinted like this when I bought it.
Cop: Could you roll you window up a little.
Me: *Rolls window up*
Cop: Ok that's good enough. *puts device on window. Reads 18* Do you know that in the state of Ohio that the tint can only be 50%?
Me: No
Cop: *Walks away with my ID, Insurance & Registration*
Meanwhile I'm freaking out & thinking I'm gonna get a ticket for having tinted windows.
Cop: *Comes back to the car* Ok Melanie well you have a good night & get your windows taken care of.

This is the first time I have ever been pulled over. Second time I have been in a car that has been pulled over. We think that the reason he really pulled me over was because I had out of county plates, tinted windows & 3 people in the car. We think he thought that we were up to no good trying to sell drugs. Wayne County has a major drug problem & most of the drug dealers have tinted windows. My windows aren't that dark. You can see through them with no problem. I've seen people with way darker tint than me driving around. Such a fun weekend...

  2. @mel i have also tinted windows!

and i be already pulled over 5 times by the police, but nothing bad happen, they made everytime only a traffic control to see if you have everything in the car, like first aid kit, warning triangle and safety vest!
and 3 times they pulled me over bc of a alcohol test, that was in the middle of the night, but i didn´t had drunk alcohol and so this wasn´t bad for me too!

You had an unique weekend, Mel !
The tint is a good idea against the strong sunshine, I think. But it seems Japanese people prefers the clear view from the car window and I suppose people feels a bit strange to see the darker tint car window thinking the owner must be VIP including " rgw gangster ". ... :-)))

What a lovely behavior your little niece does !!!

and it is so touching to see you were born as the miracle baby, corinna !

    Congrats to Nic, Nic ! ... ;-)))

I checked the notebook in the drawer which my late mom used to use. For what ? I wanted to know how high I was when I was born. ... ;-)))

    The height : 49cm
    The weight : 2700g ( not 2700kg ... haha )
    The head : 33cm

The both your moms took a risk to make you debut in this world !
My original birthdate was March 25. Usually the first child comes a bit later, and I was born in April 1, as you see. The delivery was very easy one for my mom & me, but she had a miscarriage when she became pregnant after my birth. So I've been only one child between my parents until Ekaterina was born in 2003 !

It was 24℃ in Tokyo yesterday. But the temperature this week looks like between 7℃ and 17℃. Of course it snows in the north part of Japan, but far away anyway.

Hope you have a fun time in golden November !

At last the leaves in Tokyo are turning into yellow & red with still some green.

    @Nicoletta
Today is the National Holiday, so the concert started early and I'm back such an early hour.
Yes, I enjoyed Bruckner Nr.9 by Berliner Philharmoniker with Sir Simon Rattle. It was the great evening. Tomorrow I'm going to Mahler Nr.9.
I think these 2 nights will be the climax of the year for me. and I hope Aksel will soon have the first climax of the season.

btw, I become to be used to ALS new web, but I sometimes feel a bit unpleasant to see REDBULL all the time. I understand Redbull is one of his biggest personal sponsor, but I prefer his former web to the new one. ... ;-)))

    @All ladies !
Have a happy time in each tint !
    Kisses & Hugs ! LOVE !

You do not believe Kodo comes to Switzerland! Once they are in KKL Lucerne and also in Montreux!

A bit to complicate for me to join. Would really love to see them!

For me the new website is ok! The black site was really oldfashionned! The Redbull sign is really misplaced! But obviously Aksel is in a good mood to blog very regularly and it is ok for me so far.

Today, unfortunately no traing race to follow!!!

  16. @Nicoletta
You're right. The Redbull sign is just misplaced. It'a matter of the position.
and, Aksel is back now with us.

I've been a bit busy with some unexpected trouble of my health. Actually I'm well, but according to the doctor, something seems to be wrong with my backbones. The X ray showed some troubles. I first visited the orthopedist 2 weeks ago, and he introduced me to the big hospital. It's the first time for me to visit the orthopedist in my life and also the first time to visit the big hospital.

Then, I visited TWMU( Tokyo Women's Medical University ) hospital which is within 30 minutes from my house last Monday. TWMU hospital is interesting, bc most of the doctors are male. and it is one of the best hospitals in Japan. The doctor there asked me to visit him again on last Wednesday, and I did.

The great possibility to take a surgery in around February in 2012. That's the very reality, I still cannot believe what's going on.

Anyhow, the next appointment is Dec.02 for MRI around the neck, and the doctor appointment date is Dec.19, so I think I'll be able to explain you about the situation after that.

Of course I didn't forget to ask the doctor if I could take holidays in Europe in August after the surgery in February, he said, " kein Problem ! ", so I don't care about it so much. ... ;-)))

I'm sure your dog will be OK, bc he can eat and drink well ! I think he meets the best vet and his family including you are really taking care of him so nicely !

My dear Ekaterina, I'm so sorry to hear about your health problems! Even if I don't understand very well what is about...
It's because the accident you had on the neck?
I really want you to be OK, I know what means to be ill, to have health problems so I understand what you're going through.
Don't worry, everything will be just fine, my dear!

All that I can say is that you'll ever have my support and my love!:)
Let us know how the things go, please!

Wish you a nice evening and a restful night! Give a warm rub on her soft belly to your little baby sister!
    Love you!:)

Terribly shocked about your back bones and neck problemes, dear Ekaterina!!

Rather scary you need so soon a surgery! I do not yet understand what you suffer from, dear Ekaterina! Is it kind of osteoporose?

Regarding Aksel, I think he has made a lot of progress if I may say so! He is back with us and that is great, and I have the intention he will have kind of comeback also on the slopes. The first result of the training was already great!
He really deserves it, and I am keeping my fingers strongly crossed for Aksel!!

may i ask you how old you are?

i really hope you will be better soon and that the docs can help you!

    @Nicoletta
    @corinna

Thank you very much for the warm words, ladies !

    @corinna, it's the scoliosis.

As you see, I live in Shibuya-ku and its residents over 25 years old get the annual health check for free in the clinic which the family usually goes, as the financial situation of the city is quite excellent. The health check includes the blood test and the X-ray of the lungs and so on. So my family doctor and I knew that I had the light scoliosis, bc we can admit it from the X-ray of the lungs. But we didn't take it so seriously, bc it was the light one.

I know I'd been under the heavy stress since about 2001 until almost the last year. The cause was my mom's illness and my dad's health trouble. My dad suffered from the depression due to my mom's illness and it lasted even after her death. Now he's OK, but it has been very heavy years for me. Of course I tried to take care of my health both the physical and mental, and I thought I succeeded 100 % until 2 weeks ago.

As you see, the stress hits the weakest point of the body. and I think my scoliosis was the exact one.

The first reason I visited the orthpedics in Nov. 10 was to get some advice for my bodyline. I'm thin, but I recognized something was wrong with my bodyline.
I told the doctor I had a scoliosis before asking him about my bodyline. He said he could not judge it before looking at the X-ray of my full body, so I took it.

When I was told to enter his room after the X-ray, the doctor was really in a panic looking at my X-ray. He said the curve was nearly 90° and he told me to visit TWMU with the introduction letter written by himand the X-ray. He said there were the orthopedists of the scoliosis in TWNU.

I couldn't understand what happened to my body, bc I had no pain and I thought I was healthy. I only worried about the bodyline.

Before I visited TWMU, I visited the another one which I thought I've heard had the orthopedists of scoliosis. I waited in the room. Then the nurse came to me with the doctor's message after looking at the X-ray. It said the hospital could not make surgery of scoliosis, so I'd better visit TWMU. and I took a taxi from that hospital to TWMU with the letter and the X-ray. It was in Nov. 14.

In the big hospital like TWMU, the first time visit is only some interview, and the doctor makes the patients' schedule of the check and the treatment. and the doctor made my appointment, that was Nov. 16.

I visited TWMU again in Nov. 16. The nurse came to me saying the X-ray I brought had to be back to the first hospital I visited in Nov. 10. Then, he showed me the X-ray room and I took 2 X-ray pics, the front and the side
ones, and I was told to wait there. Then the doctor of Nov. 14 came to the room with 2 other orthopedists. He, Dr.Shiba told me to lay on the something like a bed ( but not the actual bed ) and one doctor pressed my waist and the other pressed my shoulders, and Dr. Shiba pulled both of my legs and took the X-ray. and he told me to wait in the waiting room of the orthopedics.

    ... continues ...

    ReplyDelete
  23. ... continues ...

I was called to enter Dr.Shiba's room.
As soon as I entered, he showed me the 2 X-ray pics of my front. He said my curve was 78°, but it became 60° by pulling the legs for within 1 second. It meant the curve could be nearly 30° after surgery. He added TWMU would not reccomend the patients to take the surgery if they judged the surgery could not be effective. and he said, my case was the one happily that the surgery would be effective.

According to Dr.Shiba, 78° scoliosis is the severe case, but my body is flexible, so it can be recovered to nearly 30° by the surgery. Unfortunately 0° is impossible, but nearly 30° is almost OK.

My scoliosis is not the upper, but the under around the waist. That's why I can keep the healthy life, he said. But 78° is just the severe and there will be fear of some troubles with the legs and so on later on when I get old. and when I get old, the body may not be flexible to fix the bones.

I thought I had to choose " surgery " or " the Pisa tower ".

But it was so funny, before I agreed with the surgery, Dr.Shiba decided the surgery and handed the application form of hospitalization to me.

TWMU is the big hospital with many doctors and staffs, but the patients are many, too.
The MRI of around the lung and the waist will be Jan.16, 2012.
The surgery lasts for about 7 hours and needs the blood transfusiton, Dr.Shiba explained.

    That's all so far.

My dad and I visited the Tokyo Holy Resurrection Cathedral in Nov.24. We originately wanted to do so in Ekaterina's day of Nov.25, but we were both occupied by another matters.

dana, the Tokyo Holy Resurrection Cathedral is the main cathedral of the Japanese Orthodox Church. It was our first visit to the Orthodox church ! It is normally called " Nikorai-do " in Japan and it is one of the national treasury. It's so beautiful catherdal in Byzantine style.

Thank you for your long and very much informing report about your scoliosis, Ekaterina!

Believe me, I am just speachless, my dear Ekaterina!

Tried to find out what scoliosis is because I didn't know until now.
The severety of your case (78%) is nearly unbelievable for me!!

It is so strange for me, nobody did realize that earlier. So you do not seem to have pain during many years, it was only a optic problem for you?

I can very much agree with you Ekaterina, stress and troubles if they are happening over a long time are exacly the instruments that make people sick.

Mainly if you have to sit out the problems, to suffer quietly and cannot run away.

Perfectly clear for me, the tragedy with your beloved mother and also with the depressive illness of your dear father you had many exausting years.

  26. As I know, stress and troubles can have an immense influence of our backs.

It is very positive you finally seem to get into best hands to correct your problems. The surgery is freightening for me, but in your case, no way to wait to reach the 30 %!

Wish you all the best, Ekaterina, and if you like to speak about, please do not hesitate.

    Love you, Ekaterina!

As Nicoletta said, thank you so much for your report about your health.
I've heard about this kind of surgery, one of my nieces had one, but she was a teenager at that time
I know it sounds scary that it takes so many hours, but it takes time to fixed each vertebra. I also saw on tv a surgery like this. But I'm sure you're a brave girl and the doctor explained you or will explain you every step of it, so everything will be just fine in the end. Do you sit down much time during the day? I had this kind of problems, but I fixed them by exercises bc they weren't as serious as yours.

Again, as Nicoletta said, we're here for you anytime you want to talk to someone, so don't hesitate.

Keep the faith, my dear Ekaterina!
    Love you! Hugs!

It's so touching to read your warm-hearted words for me, ladies ! I really thank you very much from the bottom of my heart.

and @corinna, thanks for the links ! I've never seen things like them until you posted them.

In Japan, the scoliosis has not been known widely yet. In 1980, the government first recommended to check the body of the kids to see if they suffered from the scoliosis. Some of them started to wear the corset and were given some advices from the doctors. But those were not successful, bc people didn't understand about it and there were also not so many doctors who understood it correctly.
And unfortunately, there were and are not so many physiotherapists in Japan, and what is worse, the relationship between the doctors and physios is not good at all, and it's bad for the patients. Since I made friends with corinna here, I've understood the medical system in Germany is actually much much better than in Japan.

I thought my problem was only the optic one, so I was going to the gym after getting advices from the doctor in the first hospital I visited 2 weeks ago. But he was in a panic with my X-ray as I mentioned yesterday.

Thanks to corinna, I could see many pics of scokiosis cases. As there are so many pics, I haven't checked them all, but my case is similar to " Fri Oeschler daughter ". It's like " C ". My backbones around the waist curves like C. So I feel a little bit heavy around the waist. It's like my upper body drops 2 or 3 cm. No pain at all so far. and it's interesting that my upper body doesn't drop just after I get up in the morning, but drops soon after that.

I would't know if I'm brave or not, but it's hard for me to think about the surgery. But I think at least the doctors including Dr.Shiba know about my body better than myself. So I think I had better think about the preparation of the hospitalization such as what I have to take with me. The date of the surgery and hospitalization has not decided yet, but in February, according to Dr.Shiba. I guess I'll have to visit the hospital often in January, and it takes many hours, bc I have to wait for my turn. So I think I almost finish packing my belongins during December.

Yes, Cuche is still going strong! I had a little smile about his beard, but it suits him very well.

I was thinking of you because he looked a little bit like Bode with the beard! I am sure, you would like it. HaHa

Cuche seems to have the knowhow, the strength and furthermore he is extremly relaxed!

Aksel was not bad either, but he still misses a little bit of that winner factor that brings you straight on the podium.

Wait and see, I have the impression he is on a good way and kind of "killer instinct" is back!

Today I read a report about Roger Federer and sometimes Roger reminds me a bit to Aksel. It can happen, that for a longer period you work very hard and the results are minor.

It was written about sponsorship, still the sponsors are extremely fond of Roger because he is an elegant man, knows always what to say, has a lot of charm, is humble and also fluently in languages like German, French and Englisch. He knows how to behave and is known worldwide with a hude amount of dear fans.

and I bought a small radio today. I'm not sure, but I think I'll have to lay on the bed for a few days, so I'll be too free to do anything. ... -;))) I like to listen to the music, talks and news.
The pc and the cell phone are prohibited to bring into the hospital.

btw, TWMU is almost next to the Defense Ministry, Japanese Pentagon, however the square building. ... :-))) When I'll be allowed to walk after the surgery, I'm going to try to catch " the secret wave " like the national security. Ha Ha.

Around 7 hours surgery. When my usual flight takes off to Germany, I think LH flies above Moscow in 7 hours.

I remember one of my girl friends noticed my wrong shape of my left back last summer. But she is the only one who noticed my back problem, bc I'm looked still nearly straight, but I couldn't believe my X-ray, but I admit my reality and I accept it and try to do my best with my doctors. I think it's the best way to do.

When I first admitted my reality, I decided to inform you here. We've never met yet actually, but I always feel the strong friendship with you. So I'm so glad that you accept my reality, too. and please let me tell you that I thank you so so much for this.

  34. Sorry, Ekaterina!

Somehow our comments have got mixed-up!

I posted a little video and a report of yesterday for you Ekaterina showing Cuche (with beard!) LOL

I read your comments carefully, Ekaterina, and I understand that the absense of physios, osteopaths etc. must have the reason that Japanese people are in general very healthy! Wy docs do not like to cope it is kind of strange?!

In Switzerland they are very much present and especially the osteopaths are very busy nowadays!

Osteopaths are quite new for Switzerland and they are so active because body (bones) & soul problems are often so close, and so many disease have their source because of to much pressure in our lifes.

You saw your mother in a dream that is really extraordinairy, so I think she will guard you and everything will come allright!!

It is a pitty, you are not allowed to have a PC in the hospital, BIG problem for us!

Have a nice & relaxing evening with your baby sister, dear Ekaterina!

I am thinking of you, Ekaterina!

    ReplyDelete
  35. @ekaterina well, our medical system isn´t so good!
well the docs and the physios work together but the "krankenkassen" which has to pay the treatments and all pills and surgerys and stuff like this are real bad! we have many troubles with them, bc they spare on the wrong part! they didn´t pay for necessary things, but they pay for things that aren´t be needed!
one example, a girl get paid a beauty surgery from the "krankenkasse" bc her nose didn´t looked good but and ohter guy which really need a surgery of his problems to get air trough the nose as to pay it by his self!

i don´t know if you know this in japan

    http://www.dhu.de/globuli/seiten/arzneimittel/datenbank/product.php?id=2882387

but here in germany many docs say to the patient that they should take this before the surgery, to help the body.
    it is 100% natural!

i take it when my knee hurts, or when i have some other accidents with my legs or arms!

    ReplyDelete
  36. @nicoletta your aboslute right with "our bones and soul are conetcted"

everybody as a part of his body which isn´t so strong and most time there it starts to hurt!we call it in germany "die schwachstelle des körpers"

you have extremly stress and then your stomach hurts
or for some one other, the shoulders begin to hurt when it is to much stress

I don't think Japanese people are so healthy generally.

The another reality is that Japan is the nation which lacks of the doctors, nurses, pharmacists, and physios. As for the doctors and nurses, there is no problems in Tokyo, bc there are many. But it's different in the country areas.
But as for the physios, there are not enough even in Tokyo.

What is worse, the young medical students want to be the plastic surgeon. The plastic surgery is only for the beauty, and the nation's health insurance doesn't pay for it. So the plastic surgeon can ask the patients( clients )the big amount of money for the payment.

    ReplyDelete
  41. @corinna
I can't see the site, to my regret, but I hope the doctors in Japan give us something good before the surgery.

In Japan, all people join the nation's health insurance or the insurance of the company which they work. In my case, I join the nation's health insurance, and I pay 30% of the total medical payment. and as I introduced to Nicolettchen, the surgery for the beauty is out of such insurance. As the surgery I'm going to take belongs to the one for the better health, so I only pay 30%. What is more, the highest payment fee by us is regulated by the government. That is, there is the limit of the fee we pay. In my case, the surgery and hospitalization for about 3 weeks will be over the limit, the TWMU official explained me. and the extra fee is payed by the city government. It's the Japanese law, though I didn't know it until 2 weeks ago.

But I still think Germany has the better system for the patients than Japan. Although there is always the exception, generally speaking, the orthopedists and the physiotherapists in Japan wouldn't cooperate each other for the patients.

btw, corinna, the vis in my body after the surgery will be able to removed by another surgery in one or two years. I think I try to get some excercise after that to prevent the scoliosis be back again. I remember one of my German friends often visits the gym which the famouse Austrian orgarnizes. His policy is the better back condition makes one much healtier. Do you know his name ? I remember it starts with G or K. First I try to ask her, but she, Birgit suffers from the chemotherapy agaist cancer and is now in the hospital to get water in her lungs out, so I think I want her to concentrate on herself now. She's better and better, bc the chemotherapy works very well, but sometimes a bit too strong for her.

yes, thanks, I believe my mom guards me. In dream, she looks well and it seems she recovered from illness.

I feel the relationship between the soul and the bone now. I think Japan is the nation of the high technology including the medical matters, but the balance is not good, bc it has poorer communication and cooperation among them. looks like the developing nation. ... ;-)))

Don't worry Ekaterina, your health system is far away to be bad!

The only thing that really needs to make progress are the alternative methods!

As you say the team work with physios, ortheopeds and perhaps osteopaths would be so much important for almost any disease or injury.

In Switzerland exists kind of hype for several years because people do not trust the "old" medicine so much anymore, and they try other possibilities or at least they combine it.

Might be the reason that Japanese people have in a way often an other mentality compared with Europeans because they do not much complain and do not speak about a health problem unless it is quite severe!!??

By the way did you ever try out Shiatsu, Ekaterina?

    Thank you Nicolettchen !

yes, I think the combination of the treatments is the best for the all patients in every troubles.

In Japan, it seems some of the patients prefer to the old way of treatment and also some of them prefer to the new one. It's a kind of the brainwash. ... ;-))) and I prefer and want the combination. But Japanese medical laws make it too complicated to carry out, while Japanese law is kind for our payment. ... :-)))

and Japanese people complains of anything, but most of them hesitate to do anything for it. Maybe it's the difference between the European & American and Japanese. We are not good at taking action to improve the situation. I think Koreans and Chinese actually act, but we wouldn't.

The health Ministry recommends us to take the medical check regularly and I did. But some of them doesn't. I don't know why. ...
But in my case, despite my family doctor and I noticed the scoliosis by the X-ray of my lungs, we didn't think it has been such severe situation. I think I should have visited the orthopedists much earlier to take the X-ray of my whole body. But we had no idea about it.
It's the weakpoint of Japanese medical system, I think.

Nicoletta, my condition of the scoliosis is not easy to be treated by the osteopaths. But I think I'll talk to Dr.Shiba about the combination of the treatment. First of all, after the surgery, I think I go to the gym when Dr.Shiba judges it's already time for me to do anything. I think I'm going to ask about the gym, Nicolettchen, bc you often visit there and know about it better than me, bc I've never been in the gym before ! I only swim in the swimming pool.

As for the Shiatsu, I think it helps my body relax. According to the doctor, I can do anything before the surgery, so I asked him if I can visit the chiropractic, he said it's OK. So I try to visit the chiropractic where I visited last December for my neck accident. I can take the Shiatsu there !

Unfortunately I wrote by mistake the "old" medicine and ment the traditional
    ***********
    medicine!

Old(fashioned) medicine like the products for example of A. Vogel who makes medicine from fresh plantes extracts are old too. At the moment I am fond uf using them!

BTW I had also serious troubles with my back, over many years I had pain because of muscle tenseness (in German Muskelverspannungen). Sometimes 1-3 months and they did not disapear also by seeing a doctor, and I could only move/sit and sleep with pain.

Like Corinna mentionned, sitting the whole day long is horrible for somebody with back problems and I feel much better nowadays because I normally do not sit down for a long time.

My experience is doing a little workout with law weight and I repeat it until 50 exercises. My osteopath recommended to put down the weights and do more repetition.

It is very personal, I like doing workouts because it is very relaxing for me and I can do like I feel. It is good for the silouette and mainly I started to make my back muscles stronger!

Kieser is wellknown in Switzerland too. It is kind of Rolls Royce in workout studios! HaHa

I go to a ordinairy one but it is ideal situated next to the office so my boss sometimes sends me to the gym because he has first to do some preparations. So I go regularly 2-3 times a week.
Slowly - but surely because I am not the super athlete as you know!

The Arnika cream is on top of my list for my partner. He suffers from neck tensions, troubles in the fingers, may be knees sometimes. Hope this cream helps him to cure everything!

    A. Vogel has one and my partner likes to try it out! LOL

    @Ekaterina
    @Corinna

You mentionned something about the weekest point, obviously my weakest point is actually not the back, no no it somewhere else.

I make now a treatment with Roter Sonnenhut:

Very good idea to do something for your body.

It is good for everyone and being active is much more fun and so healthy!

It doesn't matter if gym, workout or walking or even going for a swimm.

Of course we do not all like the same, it is so personal and the main thing is we feel real good with it!
