Thank you very much for all your nice words. I am ok so far, it turned out that I have more a cold than troubles with the hay fever! So for me everything is allright, I was a bit worried, because it can happen that the hay allery/fever goes further to the next level, and you get astmatic problems with breathing, etc. That would be the worst situation.
So I am waiting that my sore troat and caughing disappears soon! My voice is still not so sexy! LOL
Normally I can cope with the hay fever, as long as I stay away from the fields, otherwise I get very sick. The trouble is, I got terrible hungry with the ordinary medicaments! No fun, if you take 6 kilos over a season. So I stopped that.
With the homeopathique meds I got soooo sleepy, I was always nearly falling on my desk with my nose in the afternoon, and the sneezing was almost the same. That one, I stopped too.
Since many years I take "Schwarzkümmelkapseln", before the season starts and during the season , it should help for nearly everything! Ha Ha
It depends of the year, but if I compare to the last years, I feel much better now. Earlier I had terrible attacks of 60 times sneezing in an hour. It was the hell!

I think is pretty unpleasant to sneeze 60 times in an hour! My boss always sneezes 10 times in a row! I don't know how, I don't know why, but he never does this more or less than 10 times!!!!:))

@Ekaterina My dear Ekaterina, for some time I've wanted to write about something to cheer you up. I was waiting until ALS season was over and now seems the time. My story begins in August 1987 when I travelled to Tokyo on JAL. I stayed at the Keio Plaza Hotel, In Shinguku-ku. I was travelling for work with Ichiko Morita to a Library Convention. Some of my favorite memories are at the convention preview a Japanese man from Kinikuniya handed me a small wooden box of warm sake and dropped a piece of salt into it. At the opening reception I followed behind the prince and princess in their processional to the convention hall. (I could have touched them I was that close and no one stopped me.) A booth visitor gave me a five piece yen and said it symbolizes friendship. One day I went to the Hilton for lunch and ordered a Kobe beef hamburger and had iced coffee for the first time. We attended a performance of Kobuki, Kimono style show, and Taiko Drum, which was very moving. We went to dinner in Shimbuyo. We travelled on the bullet train to Kamakura. We rubbed smoke on our forehead to make us smart, smoke in our pockets to make us rich, and smoke in our mouth to make us speak the truth. We saw Fujisan. There's more but I just wanted to tell you the highlights and that I remember that trip very well. I enjoyed my short two weeks with the Japanese. They were very kind to me, and I was charmed by them. I adore the children they are so well-mannered and polite. Soon, I will tell you what a spectacle I was at the hotel pool not knowing Japanese swimming pool etiquette. Take care our dear Ekaterina. More later!

I've got writers block! *throws self on floor* Our next paper for College Comp is about the supernatural. Which is my favorite subject ever!!! I'm writing about ghosts and my experiences with them. I have 6 pages, but it has to be at least 8 pages. *sighs* I'm sure I can figure out what else to write. I think I'll take a break & work on my Business Admin quiz.

You do not believe it, it was exactly the Zyrtec which made me so hungry.
We say, I could eat half a horse and a bath tube of Rösti, so hungry was I all the time!
If it is really necessary, I take now the Claritine, in the evening, not in the morning, to keep the "eating attack" in a certain range. Oh, I hate that stuff!!!!!
Don't worry beside of hay fever, I have also sun allergy, and I have to stay all the time with certain kind of cosmetique that is ok for me. I am allergic too!
So I am complete! That's life, but I am more or less used to it, and there are much bigger problems around!

ReplyDeleteAlthough I wouldn't mean to hold the international ghosts convention, let me tell you some infos on ours.
* Japanese ghosts*
1). no legs.
They can move anywhere without legs.
2). in the white Yukata.
Yukata is similar to Kimono, but the cloth is thin.
Why is it white ? Because the body in the coffin is in the WHITE Yukata.
3). often stands under the willow tree.
4). has long hairs not been comb.
I've not met the ghosts, but I once noticed possibly the spirit.
My dad in the youngest child. The youngest child is often loved the most in Japanese faimily. He left his parents' house in Sapporo at the age of 18 to enter the Uni in Tokyo. Since then he has lived here, and he didn't visit his parents so often, bc he's been very busy.
When I was 15, I was about to get into bed after brushing my teeth and I was walking in the hall to the bathroom. Then suddenly I felt someone is there behind me. I didn't turn round, though I still don't know why. I was standing still for a while. But I can say at least I didn't feel anything bad. It was about 23:30.
Then, the early next morning, my dad's elder brother called my dad and said, " Are you awake ? Mom passed away last night at around 23:00. " ..... And I told my parents about the mysterious experience I had that time and they said it was my grandma. They said I am the only child of her loving son and she wanted to see me again before leaving the world she had been living for another place.
But I think the both of my parents were sleeping already that night and she tried to see me.

Kinokuniya is one of the biggest book stores in Tokyo. btw we have another Kinokuniya and it's the supermarket.
Was the small woodedn box just square ? We use it in the occasion of the festival and reception.
Is " five pieces of yen " five 1-yen coins or one 5-yen coin ? As you see, we have 2 kinds of the coin which has a hole in the center. 5-yen coin & 50-yen coin. I think we sometimes use 5-yen coin as this way.
I think you didn't understand what " the iced coffee " mean at first. ... ;-))) We have many Japanese-English words and most of us misunderstands them as English. I think you call it the cold coffee in the US, though I'm not sure. We normally say the iced coffee and iced tea. .. :-)))
The month you visited us was August, so I suppose you might also hear another Japanese-English. It's a " Nighter ". I think you call it a night game in the US. We call the night game of baseball just " nighter ". ... :-)))
Kamakura is once the old capital in the 12th to 13th century. In the later 19 century when Japan opened the door to the world, the imperial system revived. Until that time in Japan, Shinto ( our ancient religion ) and Buddhism live together in harmony, but when the Imperial system revived in the late 19th century, Buddhism were treated badly, and many historical Buddhism temples in Kamakura were ruined. And then after the WWII, the Imperial system ended and the country became the democratic nation, and Buddhism came back in normal way as now. Since then, Kamakura has started to be one of the historical spot which attracts many tourists. I've heard it took several years to restore the old temples and the related things after the end of WWII.
I think the smoke is used in Buddhism, and it's popular. But I don't always like the smell. ... ;-)))
Kamakura is the place Mr. Obama was taken to by her mom when he was a boy. After reading it in the paper, kamakura became a little familiar place to me, and this time after reading you visited there, it became greatly familiar to me, my dear Giffy !
yes, I still wonder about magma. ... ;-))) of course it is not the cause of the earthquake, but we've often talked about the inside of the earth since March 11. Because for these weeks, we have had so many earthquakes. Most ot them are not big and from 4.0 to 6.5 but really so many.

In Shinto, we use the twig of cleyera japonica. Its leaves are thought to be the place where God visits. In the funeral of a wife of my friend last Saturday, the attendance placed a twig of cleyera japonica on the altar, bc he is from the Shinto family, and in Japan the funeral is held in husband's family religion. So funny, isn't it !?
Ceyera japonica is not bad, but I prefer much to the fir, so I decided to be born in Romania next time if I have a chance.
I start the piano lesson from next week. At first I was thinking from May, but there are not so many reasons to do so, and my pupils agree with me. I called the tuner and he came here to tune my Steinway on last Friday.

I'm sorry to hear that you have a sun allergy.I suppose you have a beautiful and delicate skin.
Normally I'm free from allergy, but I cannot say I'm 100% free from it. I suffered from the light hives, but it's only a few times. I don't know the cause. I remember my doctor prescribed " Alesion " for me. Both of my parents have the allergy. My late mom had the metal allergy and my dad has a hay fever. They have had " Claritine ", as you do.
In Germany, when you sneeze, you hear someone says " Gesundheit ". How about it in Switzerland ? In Japan, when you sneeze, it is said someone somewhere talks about you !
btw, yes, I think we people in Tokyo had better be back to the normal life, bc Tokyo is the dynamo of Japan. We are not directly damaged by the disaster, while we are much damaged indirectly. I think the lack of the electric power here is the very thing we have faced since March 11. We need the power to restore the nation.
* Then, comes good news *
Hitachi shipped the huge turbine to the thermal power stations today. As you see, our AKW is not running. We know the thermal power is not good ecologically, but there is no altenative. Hitachi's factories were also damaged, but they tried to complete the turbine.

Yes, Ekaterina, you are right, I have the so called porcelaine teint! For many years I felt like born in the wrong century, because a brown teint was what everone wanted!
But I think nowadays every skin type is accepted and that is ok so!
For little spots caused by Allergy, I take Dermo-calm.
For many years, I went to the sun studio for some minutes. But the result was always just a kind of beige!! LOL
This year, I decided to stop it completely. I have found now the ideal hair colour which suits perfect to my teint.
I think, better pale than a lot of wrinkles caused by the sun and sun studio!
If it happens because of laughing - I think that is ok!!!
Regarding "Gesundheit", we say the same! And we also interpret, if the nose bites in a similar way! We say: Somebody is thinking of me!

Generally speaking, the skin color of Asian is said to be " yellow ", but mine is not the typical one. My German friends in Berlin often say there seems not difference between them and me in color, and I think so, too. They are pure European and I'm pure Asian,though. ... ;-)))
I would not recommend you to visit the sun-studio, though I've never been there yet.
There have been fewer shakes for these days in Japan. The expert says it has the cycle. Anyhow I don't think we have the mega- earthquake 9.0 like March 11 anymore. It is the once in 1,000 years in Japan.

I've started as a piano teacher while I was a history student in the Uni.
After graduation, I worked in the branch office in Tokyo of British shipping company for one year, bc my Uni ( Aoyama Gakuin ) has the long hisotry of rugby in Japan and that British shipping company has have something like a " tradition "to employ graduates from my Uni.
and then, back to a piano teacher. I think it was better to work at home, bc my mom was not so healthy person. Although we had a house-keeping woman at home and some family asked her everything about the matter including the hospital matters and so on, but it was not our way.
btw, corinna, Mercedes sent us many super-vehicles which we can drive in the disastrous areas full of debris. They are very helpful to work there. Germany has also sent us the super-crane-vehicles which we can use in the area of our AKW.
I think the highest technique and knowledge from all over the world are gathered in our disastrous areas, and in our AKW to help us. We Japanese thank you and them very very much !
