I send you all my good thoughts and I keep my fingers crossed for you today! Your 8am here means 15pm so I'll be at home at that time and I could have my mind concentrated on you, my dear Mel!

  8. @mel so your surgery was nearly 5 hours ago! are you still sleepy from the anesthesia? how do you feel? i know that after the surgery you feel real bad, but it is going to be better day by day, the most important thing is now to rest, don´t make to much movements with your shoulder and keep it cold, but not to cold, not longer then 10 min ice on it!!

  9. I'm too tired to login. Lol I'm home they didn't take me back until 10. The surgery last 45 mins & they took out a spur & fixed a tear. I'm gonna finish my toast & go to sleep. Check in later. Thanks for your prayers. Xs & Os

  15. @mel how do you feel today? better or still sleepy!

    ReplyDelete
  16. Not so sleepy today. I did sleep for 9 hours or so last night. Though I really want to lay on my left side. :-( I had the kids come upstairs & seperate my clothes so we can wash them & then they folded my clean clothes that I did get a chance to fold before surgery.

Sunday I have to get katelyn to come up & move some totes & put some more stuff in totes so my room looks half way decent when my new bed comes on Tuesday. The kids are going away for the weekend otherwise I'd have her go up tomorrow & move stuff. Right now I'm resting watching tv & thinking about having Mom make me something to eat. I'm starving today. I may take another nap.

    Check back in later.

  17. @mel you get a new bed? wow, it is great that the kids help you! i hope they help you as much as possible!

@nicolleta thanks for posting the vids on als blog, i can see it, that are the first vids i can see from this side, normally i can´t watch them, but this great!

Hope you can see it, Ladies.

    Uff, I am so tierd.
    Good night everybody!!

    ReplyDelete
  19. @Corinna Yeah I got a new bed. I've slept in the same bed for 15 years. I decided that it was time to get a new bed. I can't wait for it to get here! They know I'm hurt & can't do it myself. Emily & Becky wanted to help me clean my room today, but that would have been too much for me to do today. Maybe Sunday they will help Katelyn put stuff in totes for me.

It's cloudy today in Tokyo, and it's cold outside. So I stay at home today. Tomorrow I go out for a lunch with my friends and I visit the cheese stores on my way, then will be back for the slalom.

  25. Hei my dear friends!

    @Nicoletta
Thanks so much for the links on ALS! Both videos are great and that flight in Superman's style is priceless! Haha!
Have to tell you that I was so surprised bc I realized I understand what they were speaking in German, even if I don't speak this language, more than I understand from the Press conference video-even it's in English!!! LOL That photo cameras make some noise and I can't understand everything they talk! Or I'm deaf! LOL
But I can't see these links you posted here! Sorry!
Have a nice and quiet weekend, dear Nicoletta!

    @Ekaterina
Mishu is fine, really fine, though a week ago I thought I'll lose him! But he was lucky! He runs, barks, plays as usual! The only unusual thing is that he eat very much, like a pig!!! Haha! But I guess this is a good sign!

I'm not as good as I'd wish, my throat and my left ear ache and almost every evening I have fever and chills!

Here's a spring weather, sunny and warm, there's not snow anymore and I found in my garden that some spring flowers have blossomed! I found a pic of these flowers to show you!

    http://www.albumdefamilie.ro/poze/10403_d1a342bb/

I saw today on Eurosport that it snowed in Sapporo. I watched ski jumping live from there.
How are you, my dear Ekaterina? How do you feel? I hope your neck if fine now!
Wish you and your little Ekaterina to have a pleasant evening and a beautiful weekend! Hugs!

I'm pleased to know Mishu recovered, but feel sorry that you still have a fever, chill nearly every evenings along with throat and ear ache, ... my dear dana. I do hope you get well soon !

Me & my baby sis are quite OK. Thanks for thinking of us ! My neck is actually almost OK, but it's better to visit " crack, crack " for an aftercare, so I think I'll visit there next weekend.

and thanks for the beautiful link, dana ! I love it ! In my garden, some flowers are already in spring, too !

btw, did you watch it !? yes, it snowed and snows a lot in Sapporo. I've never been there in winter, but there was the winter Olympics in Sapporo many years ago.

In Tokyo, it'll be colder a little by little until early Februaly.

Hope you have a fun with Mishu & Zorro in pretty Sunday evening, my dear dana !
I'm going to take a bath and get into bed. Good night. Hugs !

Happy that you could see the prize giving ceremony at Adelboden and Wengen.

    Sorry for the other ones.

    Have a beautiful weekend!

    @Dana
Take care of your health, Dana. That with the ear sounds not so good. It is nice you have almost spring time so hopefully you will recover soon. All the best, Dana.

Glad Mishu feels well. Maybe he eats so much because he wants to regain some weight!! Funny dog.

Re the language of the presentation ceremony, as far as I know they spoke a lot of french and it was also translatet into German at the same time. So you are good in understanding the language mix. LOL!

    Have a relaxing Sunday, Dana.

I am so glad you could watch the ceremony presentations because they are realy lovely. I think in general these ceremonies are great and very moving. I like to see them.

    http://www.videoportal.sf.tv/video?id=53e75ba2-6ca7-48cb-8bd0-2f76d2ed97b8

Even if Aksel does not take part, he did a great job today regarding of his not yet totally cured cold.
The Lauberhorn downhill is one of the toughest and also the longest run in the world and it demands a lot of energy.

For tomorrow - everything is open - how knows which guy we will meet on the podium??

    Good luck, Aksel!
Stay safe and be again the "Slalomwiesel" for us. And most important, have Fun, Aksel!!

    ReplyDelete
  33. @Nicoletta I'll have to check out the videos later when I can get my computer out. I can't watch them on my iPod. :-(

My shouldar is feeling really tight today. Like my skin is 2 sizes too small. I have exercises that I have to do too. I have to swing my arm back & forth, make circles & try to get my arm above my head going forward. Though the last one is so not happening with stitches in my shouldar. My right calf is still killing me. If it still hurts in the morning I'm calling the dr. I think it's just a muscle thing because my left calf doesn't hurt anymore. Washed my hair today...well I should say Jay washed my hair. He did a good job for it being his first time washing someone elses hair. Mom is gonna cut my hair shorter because long hair & shouldar surgery doesn't mix. She can't put it up & it hurts like hell when I do it. Check back tomorrow.

    Have a lovely Sunday.
I am not sure if I can see the race because we are invited.

    See you!

    ReplyDelete
  37. @Mel.
I suppose you might feel something uncomfortable from time to time, but it's quite normal after surgery, Mel. and I'm sure you're definitely on the way to recover.
Jay washed you hair !? Yes ! You are his VIP ! very nice to hear about the heart-warming atmosphere in the family, Mel.
Please continue to take care of you. Hugs !

    ReplyDelete
  38. @Nicoletta.
How did you enjoy the invitation, Nicoletta ?
I'm fond of hearing about gathering from you. You always spend time with nice people !

btw, as I talked with AM in ALS, I'd like you to help me with cheese, Nicolettchen.
I've never contented with our domestic product of cheese, and I buy the inport one. Most of them are from France and salty taste cheese. That's OK, but this time I think I want to try more things, and I plan to prepare some Swiss cheese and possibly brunost and jarlsberg on the plate for supper. Which do you recommend me ? and as for Appenzeller, which do you prefer the black label or the silver label ?

It's been cold here, I mean the air is so cold. Of course it's warm inside, but I cannot stay at home every day. ...:-)))
so, I take a bath now. See you, my dear Nicoletta !

    ReplyDelete
  39. @Mel
You have to be patient, a few more days and everything will be fine! Give Jay a big hug from us and tell him we appreciate that he takes care of you! LOL
Rest well and do your exercises! Hugs!

    @Ekaterina
I love to read your comments here or on ALS! That thing about Jarlsberg sounding like a beer was so funny! LOL
Hope you'll eat sarmale at DARIE on 24, than you'll find out if it's worth the effort! You know it's a long way from fresh cabbage to sarmale! Haha!

Have a beautiful evening, Ekaterina! Kisses!

    @Nicoletta
I feel much better today, thank you for your concern! I have no fever anymore and my ear and my throat are fine! I confess I'm not that good of taking care of myself! LOL
I don't know why I can't see none of these videoportal you posted! But thanks for your good intention! :)

Have a pleasant Sunday afternoon too, Nicoletta! Hugs!

    ReplyDelete
  40. @Ekaterina I'm breaking into the cheese conversation. Get the Jarlsberg. It's good...though I've never had Brunost. So I can't really compare them. Guggisberg Swiss, which is made a couple miles away from me, is really good too.

    http://www.guggisberg.com/

I'm a big fan of cheese. I love to go to Heini's Cheese Chalet in Millersburg, OH. They have free samples. LOL

    http://www.heinis.com/

    ReplyDelete
  41. @Mel.
Sure I'll get Carlsberg, no, no, Jarlsberg !

    Thanks for the links, Mel.
I think I remember seeing the logotype of " GUGGISBERG ", so I'll get it, too. I also feel "Heinis" looks familiar to me.
It looks like Ohio is the treasure place of European cheese, Mel !

I think we have the excellent taste of foods by domestic product, as like fruits and beef, but I've never satisfied with our cheese, butter, ham & sausage. Actually they are not really bad, but something different from those I take in Germany every summer.
It's nice Ohio joins my favorite !

Take your time and have a good rest, our dear Mel !

    ReplyDelete
  42. @dana.
yes, I visit DARIE next week on Monday ! The time goes by in this way . ...:-)))

Lookig out from the window, it looks warm, bc it's so sunny in Tokyo. But really brrr outside. I think it was warmer in Wengen than in Tokyo.

btw, dana, I think Mishu won't run away, bc I think he met the horrible moment, and that experience makes him much smarter. Dogs and cats are clever than us. They learn things from experience and do not make the same mistakes.. It's we ( at least me ) who do the same mistakes after the last one. ...:-)))

Have a beautiful new week, my dear dana !

  44. @Ekaterina
My invitation was a very happy and long family meeting! So I was realy tired and went to bed early.

Regarding cheese, I try to recommend some nice Swiss cheese that you hopefully can buy in Japan.

We usually eat "Geschwellti und Chäse" that means in salt water cooked potatoes
and serve them with different cheese.

Normally you can choose between mild or tasty type:

    Appenzeller
    Bündner Bergkäse
    Emmentaler
    Tilsiter
    Gruyere

We combine the above cheese often with Brie cheese or Gorgonzola (which are not typically Swiss cheese) but produced in Switzerland.

If you prefer only Swiss cheese go for Vaucherin Mont d'Or or Tomme Vaudois.

Please click the pics to make them bigger.

    Have a pleasant afternoon, Ekaterina.

  45. @Nicoletta.
That's the very reason I often try to skip the long family meeting. ...:-))) But of course, I believe you enjoyed it, Nicoletta !

Thanks for the cheese info and the link, Nicoletthen ! and I have one question here. It's about the difference among Appenzeller.
Tomorrow I'm going to buy Jarlsberg, Camembert ( by GERARD ) which is the most popular import cheese in Japan, Tom & Jerry ( ... do you understand what I mean ? ... )possibly and hopefully by GUGGISBERG, and one Appenzeller. I cannot decide which Appenzeller is better for me. The person in the cheese store told me they had the 3 labels, gold, silver, and black. But she does not know about the difference well. I'd be pleased with your advice, Nicoletta !

Have a beautiful afternoon, Nicolettchen !

    ReplyDelete
  46. @Ekaterina

LOL! We have only 2 labels for Appenzeller.

    green: mild
    red: tasty

Go for Gold, Ekaterina! That is the best medal you can get. Ha, ha.

    ReplyDelete
  47. Aha!Found more about Appenzeller

Thanks again for the links ! Nicolettchen !

I'm fond of the video, happy music, happy people, AND, AND, very nice & wonderful views !

As for Appenzeller link, it seems the silver label=CLASSIC, the gold=SURCHOX, and the black label=EXTRA. So I think the green=silver, the red=black, and the gold=...undecided... :-)))

OK, I try the youngest one, silver. bc I think I'd better start with the mild one.

Thanks a lot ! Nicoletta ! You help me much !

Thanks for the video! The guys look great so it was a real pleasure to watch them! LOL
All the best for you in 2011 too!

    @Ekaterina
I like you wanna try everything: sarmale, brunost, jarlsberg, Swiss cheese...When do you have time to look for all of this?:))

I wonder if at DARIE they will serve you sarmale with mamaliga-this means corn flour polenta! This is our usual way to eat sarmale, but you can eat bread instead polenta.

Have a nice day, dear Ekaterina! Hugs!

    ReplyDelete
  52. @dana.
yes, I think they serve sarmale with polenta. looking forward to it, too !

ha,ha,... that's since I was a little girl, dana. I like many " the first meet ", but of course I think I choose it from the long lists. ...;-)))

I had my first Jarlsberg and Appenzeller today. They are very very delicious ! but I failed to buy Gussisberg cheese and brunost, be they did not sell them today. so next time.

btw, dana, please don't forget to check my comment here tomorrow evening ( your time ). The reason ? ... I want to keep it secret today. You'll see a little nice thing here !

Have a nice & not so busy afternoon, my dear dana !

  53. @Nicoletta.
    I love Appenzeller ! Nicolettchen !
I had " green " one today and I try " red " one next time.
In the area around DARIE located, there are some good cheese stores, so I visit some of them next Monday on my way back from DARIE. I think I'll take Ementaler, too !

Thanks for your advice, my dear Nicoletta !

I think you just get up, and today is Tuesday.
So, kiss your bed from which you woke up this morning, and hope you enjoy the first sleep in your new bed tonight. I know it's a bit strange to talk about sleep, bc it's in the morning there though. ...
Hope you have a smooth recovery, our dear Mel !

    ReplyDelete
  55. @Ekaterina
Have you tasted Jarlsberg and Appenzeller already? Wow! You move so fast! lol
I have to believe you that they are delicious, I live in a small town, about 40.000 people and we can't find all kind of things as in a big city as Tokyo, so I can't try them on my own! Ha!

You made me so curious about your tomorrows comment! Haha! I can't wait!

Have a beautiful evening, my dear!

    ReplyDelete
  56. @Ekaterina
It is nice to hear that you have already tasted Jarlsberg and Appenzeller.

You know, I buy the cheese very often in the supermarket "Migros", they produce cheese and milk products by themselves. That is the reason because I am used to different labels. It could also be a export thing.

I would still recommend you for the Emmental to take the gold label, that means surchoix. This one is more tasty, because normal Emmental can be extremely mild.

It is interesting that Jarlsberg is wellknown as the Norwegian Emmental too. The production must be quite similar but they taste very different. I like Jarlsberg very much!

Here I found some links about several cheese:

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Emmental_%28cheese%29

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Appenzeller_%28cheese%29

If you scroll until the footline, you will find other cheese. You can also compare what is written about Jarlsberg.

One of the most peculiar Swiss cheese I know is the Schabziger! I am really curious if you ever will found this cheese in Japan??

    Have a pleasant evening, Ekaterina.

i don´t find on your cheese conversation the cheese "gruyere" or "tete de moine" i know the last one it named is from france but also a real good one

    ReplyDelete
  59. @Corinna
Are you ready for Kitzbühel, Corinna?? There will be enough snow to load some under your jacket. LOL!

Gruyere is a very nice cheese too and very popular in Switzerland at the moment, as well as Mozzerella.

Tete de moine, I tried sometimes at an Apero or in Hotel. I presume, it is more eaten in the French speaking part of Switzerland. Here it is more or less a speciality not a "daily" kind of cheese.

There exist thousands of cheese in the whole world.
I know in France you have a very, very big variety. And obviously a lot of cheese is produced in different countries under the same name. A lot of cheesemaker went abroad and took their knowledge far away from their home.

    My favorite cheese is Tilsiter.

Do you have a special cheese in Bavaria, Corinna? Which one you love best??

I have to leave and wish you Good Night, Corinna.

    See you tomorrow.
